We find an analytic solution of the Smolukhovsky problem of the temperature and electric potential jumps in a metal under the action of the temperature gradient normal to the surface. We take the character of the electron energy accommodation on the surface into account. The nonequilibrium phonon energy due to deformation interactions with hot electrons is determined. This energy depends on the lifetime of phonons with fixed momentum. Lifetime for phonons scattered by electrons and by macroscopic and microscopic impurities are calculated using the Keldysh diagram technique. Propagation of linear and nonlinear electron-acoustic waves (EAWs) in an unmagnetized collisionless plasma consisting of a cold electron fluid, non-thermal hot electrons and stationary ions are investigated. The standard normal-mode analysis is used to study the stability condition of linear (EAWs) waves. For nonlinear (EAWs) waves, a reductive perturbation method was employed to obtain a Korteweg–de Vries (KdV) equation for the first-order potential. The effects of a non-thermal distribution of hot electrons on the amplitude, width and energy of electrostatic solitary structures are also discussed.  相似文献

Hot electrons produced by ultra-short pulse laser interacting with solid targets were studied systematically. When 800 nm, 8 × 1015 W/cm2 laser pulses interacted with solid targets, hot electron emission was found to be collimated in certain directions and the angular distribution of hot electrons depended on the energy absorption. The angular divergence of outgoing hot electrons was inversely proportional to the hot electron energy. The energy spectrum of hot electrons was found to be in a biMaxwellian distribution and the maximum energy was over 500 keV.  相似文献

Using a formula derived from the Dirac equation, written in Clifford algebra, we prove that either in relativistic or in corpuscular (quantum) mechanics (Bohm, Vigier) free electrons cannot be localized. We use the concept of quantum entanglement to give a physical meaning to the electron correlation energy in systems of interacting electrons. The electron correlation is not directly observable, being defined as the difference between the exact ground state energy of the many-electron Schrödinger equation and the Hartree-Fock energy. Using the configuration interaction method for the hydrogen molecule, we calculate the correlation energy and compare it with the entanglement as a function of the nucleus-nucleus separation. In the same spirit, we analyze a dimer of ethylene, which represents the simplest organic conjugate system, changing the relative orientation and distance of the molecules to obtain the configuration corresponding to maximum entanglement.  相似文献

A study is made of a system of strongly correlated electrons that are localized on a lattice and coupled to the free electrons by the 4-fermion interaction proposed by Kondo. A realistic Hamiltonian is constructed in the basis of atomic operators of the superalgebra spl(8;8). A scheme is proposed for calculating the spectrum of Fermi excitations with respect to a small parameter, which is the hopping integral made dimensionless by intraatomic correlations. The static spin susceptibility is calculated as a function of the temperature and concentration of the electrons and is found to be in agreement with the experimental susceptibility for several narrow-band organometallic compounds. The nonphonon kinematic mechanism is used to estimate the possibility of superconducting pairing in the proposed model, andT c and the corresponding critical electron concentration in one of the correlated bands are calculated.N. In this paper, a modified Korteweg–de Vries (mKdV) equation and Korteweg–de Vries (KdV) equation at critical ion density are derived for dusty plasmas consisting of hot dust fluid, nonisothermal ions and two-temperature electrons. The charge fluctuation dynamics of the dust grains has also been considered. It has been shown that the presence of a second component of electrons modifies the nature of dust acoustic (DA) solitary structures. The effects of two-temperature electrons, obliqueness and external magnetic field on the properties of DA solitary waves are discussed. Numerical investigations show that there exists only rarefactive solitary waves.  相似文献
