A solution of the stress, deformation and deformation energy is given for an edge dislocation with its dislocation line having the shape of a circle in an unlimited isotropic medium. The possibility of using this solution in studying the dislocation loop in a crystal is discussed.

Nuclear emulsions were used to study the energy spectrum and forward-backward asymmetry of neutrons from the Co59(p,n) reaction forE p 6·5 MeV. It was found that the decay of the compound nucleus makes a maximum contribution of 50% to the reaction yield. Energies of some excited states of the Ni59 nucleus were also determined.

The purpose of this paper is to review and to extend, wherever possible, the Kramers-Kronig relations, sum rules, and symmetry properties for the electrodynamic transport tensors of a linear plasma medium. For complete generality, we consider both nonrelativistic and relativistic plasmas with and without external magnetic fields. Our study is carried out first within the framework of classical electrodynamics. We then exploit the statistical-mechanical fluctuation-dissipation theorem to further obtain the Onsager symmetry relations and Kubo sum-rule frequency moments. For the Ising model with nearest neighbour interaction it is shown that the spin correlations A B - A B decrease exponentially asd(A, B) in a pure phase when the temperature is well belowT c. This is used to prove that the free energyF(,h) is infinitely differentiable in and has one sided derivatives inh of all orders forh=0. The bounds are also used to prove that the central limit theorem holds for several variables such as e.g. the total energy and the total magnetization of the system, the limit distribution being gaussian with variances determined by the second derivatives ofF(,h).  相似文献

A contribution to the absorption spectrum of amorphous selenium in the infra-red region
The absorption spectrum of amorphous selenium was measured in the region of 0·6 to 25 on samples of high purity and homogeneity. The absorption bands of amorphous and liquid sulphur were also measured in the same wave-length region. The measurements showed that the absorption bands 13·4 and 20·4 , appearing in the spectrum of amorphous selenium, are its intrinsic absorption bands and are not caused by impurities, as some authors think. The similarity between the infra-red spectra of selenium and sulphur is shown.

Starting axiomatically with a system of finite degrees of freedom whose logic c is an atomic Boolean -algebra, we prove the existence of phase space c, as a separable metric space, and a natural (weak) topology on the set of statesI (all the probability measures on c) such that c, the subspace of pure statesP, the set of atoms of c and the spaceP( c) of all the atomic measures on c, are all homeomorphic. The only physically accessible states are the points of c. This probabilistic formulation is shown to be reducible to a purely deterministic theory.  相似文献

A study is made of instability at frequencies close to the electron cyclotron frequency B and its multiples, subject to the presence of two different groups of electrons. It is shown that a mixture of hot and cold electrons ( ph 2 pc 2 ) in the region of frequencies s B, s2 can be unstable with respect to waves of the flute type (k z=0) with maximum increment max ( ph/pc). B, if there exists an interval of transversal velocities in whichF/ >0. When the curvature of the magnetic field is taken into account, even waves with B can be unstable in such a plasma. The effect of spatial inhomogeneity of the hot component on flute-type instability and on two-beam cyclotron instability is also examined.The author extends his thanks to A. B. Betatron oscillations in an accelerator with a general field I
The paper gives a linear theory of equilibrium trajectories in an accelerator with a generalized magnetostatic field, the components of which are defined on a general rotation surface. Equations of motion of the particles in natural coordinates are derived with respect to the change in energy and dissipative force. A system of equilibrium trajectories is found in the general form. Conditions for the field components on the reference surface, necessary for the existence of equilibrium trajectories, for the conservation of their geometric similarities and for maintaining the constancy of the frequencies of the betatron oscillations, are derived. A condition is also derived which must be satisfied by the reference surface in order to conserve constant circular frequency of the particles. It is seen that it is not possible to find a field for an accelerator with an exactly constant circular frequency and with constant frequencies of the betatron oscillation in the relativistic energy region. An ultra-relativistic cyclotron with such properties is realizable.

The influence of weak ultra-violet irradiation on the brightness waves of electroluminescence is investigated for two types of ZnS-Cuphosphors. The observed effects (increase in brightness in the primary peak and its phase shift, the disappearance of the secondary peak) are explained on the basis of present-day conceptions on electroluminescence.

A detailed analysis is reported examining the local magnetic susceptibility (r), in relation to the correlation functionG(R) and correlation length , of a spherical model ferromagnet confined to geometry =L dd × d ( d 2,d>2) under a continuous set oftwisted boundary conditions. The twist parameter in this problem may be interpreted as a measure of the geometry-dependent doping level of interfacial impurities (or antiferromagnetic seams) in theextended system at various temperatures. For j 0, jd-d, no seams are present except at infinity, whereas if j = 1/2, impurity saturation occurs. For 0 < j < 1/2 the physical domain phys =D dd × d (D>L), defining the region between seams containing the origin, depends on temperature above a certain threshold (T>T 0). Below that temperature (T>T 0), seams are frozen at the same position (DL/2,d-d'=1), revealing a smoothly varying largescale structural phase transition.  相似文献

A high-frequency sum-rule expansion is derived for the transverse elements of the relativistic classical plasma dielectric tensor in an isotropic system. The relativistic results are different from the nonrelativistic ones by a factor of –1(1 – 2/3c 2) for 2 (k) and longitudinal plasmon and transverse photon frequencies, and by –2(1–2 2/3c 2) for 2 (k).  相似文献

Evolution characters of angular velocity H of a Kerr black hole (BH) and distribution characters of angular velocity p of accreting particles near the BH horizon are investigated in the case of thin and thick disks, respectively. It is shown that H evolves in a non-monotonous way in the case of thin-disk-pure-accretion, attaining a maximum at a * 0.994. This evolution character turns out to depend on the radial gradient of p near the BH horizon. It is proved that both quantities, ( dH /dt) ms and ( p /r)r=r H, vanish at the same value of a *: a *0.994, and an explanation for the non-monotonousness of H is provided.  相似文献
