Let ν(G) be the number of conjugacy classes of non-normal subgroups of a finite group G. The finite groups for which ν(G) ≤ 2 were determined by Dedekind and by Schmidt in the early times of group theory. On the other hand, if G is a finite p-group, La Haye and Rhemtulla have proved that either ν(G) ≤ 1 or ν(G) ≥ p. In this note, we determine all finite p-groups satisfying ν(G) = p for p > 2.  相似文献

In [1], we defined c(G), q(G) and p(G). In this paper we will show that if G is a p-group, where p is an odd prime and |G| ≤ p 4, then c(G) = q(G) = p(G). However, the question of whether or not there is a p-group G with strict inequality c(G) = q(G) < p(G) is still open.  相似文献

This paper is devoted to the study of operational second-order differential equations of elliptic type with nonregular coefficient-operator boundary conditions. In the framework of UMD spaces, we give some new results by using semi-groups and interpolation theory. We define two types of solutions: semi-strict and strict solutions. Let p be a prime number, p > 2. A closed Riemann surface which can be realized as a p-sheeted covering of the Riemann sphere is called p-gonal, and such a covering is called a p-gonal morphism. If the p-gonal morphism is a cyclic regular covering, the Riemann surface is called a cyclic p-gonal Riemann surface. Accola showed that if the genus is greater than (p − 1)2 the p-gonal morphism is unique. Using the characterization of p-gonality by means of Fuchsian groups we show that there exists a uniparametric family of cyclic p-gonal Riemann surfaces of genus (p − 1)2 which admit two p-gonal morphisms. In this work we show that these uniparametric families are connected spaces and that each of them is the Riemann sphere without three points. We study the Hurwitz space of pairs (X, f), where X is a Riemann surface in one of the above families and f is a p-gonal morphism, and we obtain that each of these Hurwitz spaces is a Riemann sphere without four points.  相似文献

We give a sufficient condition on a finite p-group G of nilpotency class 2 so that Aut c (G) = Inn(G), where Aut c (G) and Inn(G) denote the group of all class preserving automorphisms and inner automorphisms of G respectively. Next we prove that if G and H are two isoclinic finite groups (in the sense of P. Hall), then Aut c (G) ≃ Aut c (H). Finally we study class preserving automorphisms of groups of order p 5, p an odd prime and prove that Aut c (G) = Inn(G) for all the groups G of order p 5 except two isoclinism families.  相似文献

Let A be a finitely generated abelian group. We describe the automorphism group Aut(A) using the rank of A and its torsion part p-part A p . For a finite abelian p-group A of type (k 1, ..., k n ), simple necessary and sufficient conditions for an n × n-matrix over integers to be associated with an automorphism of A are presented. Then, the automorphism group Aut(A) for a finite p-group A of type (k 1, k 2) is analyzed. We investigate the Schur multiplicators M(G) of p-groups G using coclass theory. For p > 2 we show that there are at most finitely many p-groups G of coclass r with |M(G)| ≤ s for every r and s. We observe that this is not true for p = 2 by constructing infinite series of 2-groups G with coclass r and |M(G)| = 1. We investigate the Schur multiplicators of the 2-groups of coclass r further.  相似文献
