We prove a Beurling-Blecher-Labuschagne theorem for \({H^\infty}\)-invariant spaces of \({L^p(\mathcal{M},\tau)}\) when \({0 < p \leq\infty}\), using Arveson’s non-commutative Hardy space \({H^\infty}\) in relation to a von Neumann algebra \({\mathcal{M}}\) with a semifinite, faithful, normal tracial weight \({\tau}\). Using the main result, we are able to completely characterize all \({H^\infty}\)-invariant subspaces of \({L^p(\mathcal{M} \rtimes_\alpha \mathbb{Z},\tau)}\), where \({\mathcal{M} \rtimes_\alpha \mathbb{Z} }\) is a crossed product of a semifinite von Neumann algebra \({\mathcal{M}}\) by the integer group \({\mathbb{Z}}\), and \({H^\infty}\) is a non-selfadjoint crossed product of \({\mathcal{M}}\) by \({\mathbb{Z}^+}\). As an example, we characterize all \({H^\infty}\)-invariant subspaces of the Schatten p-class \({S^p(\mathcal{H})}\), where \({H^\infty}\) is the lower triangular subalgebra of \({B(\mathcal{H})}\), for each \({0 < p \leq\infty}\).  相似文献

We study the local Hecke algebra \({\mathcal{H}_{G}(K)}\) for \({G = {\rm GL}_{n}}\) and K a non-archimedean local field of characteristic zero. We show that for \({G = {\rm GL}_{2}}\) and any two such fields K and L, there is a Morita equivalence \({\mathcal{H}_{G}(K) \sim_{M} \mathcal{H}_{G}(L)}\), by using the Bernstein decomposition of the Hecke algebra and determining the intertwining algebras that yield the Bernstein blocks up to Morita equivalence. By contrast, we prove that for \({G = {\rm GL}_{n}}\), there is an algebra isomorphism \({\mathcal{H}_{G}(K) \cong \mathcal{H}_{G}(L)}\) which is an isometry for the induced \({L^1}\)-norm if and only if there is a field isomorphism \({K \cong L}\).  相似文献

In this paper, the authors prove a general Schwarz lemma at the boundary for the holomorphic mapping f between unit balls B and B′in separable complex Hilbert spaces H and H′, respectively. It is found that if the mapping f ∈ C~(1+α)at z_0∈ ?B with f(z_0) = w_0∈ ?B′, then the Fr′echet derivative operator Df(z_0) maps the tangent space Tz_0(?B~n) to Tw_0(?B′), the holomorphic tangent space T_(z_0)~(1,0)(?B~n) to T_(w_0)~(1,0)(?B′),respectively.  相似文献

In the top to random shuffle, the first \({a}\) cards are removed from a deck of \({n}\) cards \({12 \cdots n}\) and then inserted back into the deck. This action can be studied by treating the top to random shuffle as an element \({B_a}\), which we define formally in Section 2, of the algebra \({{\mathbb{Q}[S_n]}}\). For \({a = 1}\), Garsia in “On the powers of top to random shuffling” (2002) derived an expansion formula for \({{B^k_1}}\) for \({{k \leq n}}\), though his proof for the formula was non-bijective. We prove, bijectively, an expansion formula for the arbitrary finite product \({B_{a1} B_{a2} \cdots B_{ak}}\) where \({a_{1}, \cdots , a_{k}}\) are positive integers, from which an improved version of Garsia’s aforementioned formula follows. We show some applications of this formula for \({B_{a1} B_{a2} \cdots B_{ak}}\), which include enumeration and calculating probabilities. Then for an arbitrary group \({G}\) we define the group of \({G}\)-permutations \({{S^G_n} := {G \wr S_n}}\) and further generalize the aforementioned expansion formula to the algebra \({{\mathbb{Q} [ S^G_n ]}}\) for the case of finite \({G}\), and we show how other similar expansion formulae in \({{\mathbb{Q} [S_n]}}\) can be generalized to \({{\mathbb{Q} [S^G_n]}}\).  相似文献

Let \({C^*_r(\mathbb{F}_{\infty})}\) be the reduced C*-algebra of the free group on infinitely many generators. Say that \({a, b \in C^*_r(\mathbb{F}_{\infty})_{SA}}\). Then \({a}\) is majorized by \({b}\) if and only if \({a \in \overline{Conv(U(b))}.}\) In particular, \({\tau(b)1 \in \overline{Conv(U(b))}.}\) Moreover, in the above results, we provide uniform bounds for the number of unitary conjugates needed for a given approximation. In the above, \({Conv(U(b))}\) is the convex hull of the unitary orbit of \({b}\) in \({C^*_r(\mathbb{F}_{\infty})}\).  相似文献

The purpose of this paper is to identify all eight of the basic Cayley–Dickson doubling products. A Cayley–Dickson algebra \({\mathbb{A}_{N+1}}\) of dimension \({2^{N+1}}\) consists of all ordered pairs of elements of a Cayley–Dickson algebra \({\mathbb{A}_{N}}\) of dimension \({2^N}\) where the product \({(a, b)(c, d)}\) of elements of \({\mathbb{A}_{N+1}}\) is defined in terms of a pair of second degree binomials \({(f(a, b, c, d), g(a, b, c,d))}\) satisfying certain properties. The polynomial pair\({(f, g)}\) is called a ‘doubling product.’ While \({\mathbb{A}_{0}}\) may denote any ring, here it is taken to be the set \({\mathbb{R}}\) of real numbers. The binomials \({f}\) and \({g}\) should be devised such that \({\mathbb{A}_{1} = \mathbb{C}}\) the complex numbers, \({\mathbb{A}_{2} = \mathbb{H}}\) the quaternions, and \({\mathbb{A}_{3} = \mathbb{O}}\) the octonions. Historically, various researchers have used different yet equivalent doubling products.  相似文献

For completely contractive Banach algebras A and B (respectively operator algebras A and B), the necessary and sufficient conditions for the operator space projective tensor product \({A\widehat{\otimes}B}\) (respectively the Haagerup tensor product \({A\otimes^{h}B}\)) to be Arens regular are obtained. Using the non-commutative Grothendieck inequality, we show that, for C*-algebras A and B, \({A\otimes^{\gamma} B}\) is Arens regular if \({A\widehat{\otimes}B}\) and \({A\widehat{\otimes}B^{op}}\) are Arens regular whereas \({A\widehat{\otimes}B}\) is Arens regular if and only if \({A\otimes^{h}B}\) and \({B\otimes^{h}A}\) are, where \({\otimes^h}\), \({\otimes^{\gamma}}\), and \({\widehat{\otimes}}\) are the Haagerup, the Banach space projective tensor norm, and the operator space projective tensor norm, respectively.  相似文献

The purpose of this work is to classify, for given integers \({m,\, n\geq 1}\), the bordism class of a closed smooth \({m}\)-manifold \({X^m}\) with a free smooth involution \({\tau}\) with respect to the validity of the Borsuk–Ulam property that for every continuous map \({\phi : X^m \to \mathbb{R}^n}\) there exists a point \({x\in X^m}\) such that \({\phi (x)=\phi (\tau (x))}\). We will classify a given free \({\mathbb{Z}_2}\)-bordism class \({\alpha}\) according to the three possible cases that (a) all representatives \({(X^m, \tau)}\) of \({\alpha}\) satisfy the Borsuk–Ulam property; (b) there are representatives \({({X_{1}^{m}}, \tau_1)}\) and \({({X_{2}^{m}}, \tau_2)}\) of \({\alpha}\) such that \({({X_{1}^{m}}, \tau_1)}\) satisfies the Borsuk–Ulam property but \({({X_{2}^{m}}, \tau_2)}\) does not; (c) no representative \({(X^m, \tau)}\) of \({\alpha}\) satisfies the Borsuk–Ulam property.  相似文献

It is well known that if \({0.a_1a_2a_3\ldots}\) is the base-\({b}\) expansion of a number normal to base-\({b}\), then the numbers \({0.a_ka_{m+k}a_{2m+k}\ldots}\) for \({m\ge 2}\), \({k\ge 1}\) are all normal to base-\({b}\) as well. In contrast, given a continued fraction expansion \({\langle a_1,a_2,a_3,\ldots\rangle}\) that is normal (now with respect to the continued fraction expansion), we show that for any integers \({m\ge 2}\), \({k\ge 1}\), the continued fraction \({\langle a_k, a_{m+k},a_{2m+k},a_{3m+k},\ldots\rangle}\) will never be normal.  相似文献

We present methods for computing the explicit decomposition of the minimal simple affine W-algebra \({W_k(\mathfrak{g}, \theta)}\) as a module for its maximal affine subalgebra \({\mathscr{V}_k(\mathfrak{g}^{\natural})}\) at a conformal level k, that is, whenever the Virasoro vectors of \({W_k(\mathfrak{g}, \theta)}\) and \({\mathscr{V}_k(\mathfrak{g}^\natural)}\) coincide. A particular emphasis is given on the application of affine fusion rules to the determination of branching rules. In almost all cases when \({\mathfrak{g}^{\natural}}\) is a semisimple Lie algebra, we show that, for a suitable conformal level k, \({W_k(\mathfrak{g}, \theta)}\) is isomorphic to an extension of \({\mathscr{V}_k(\mathfrak{g}^{\natural})}\) by its simple module. We are able to prove that in certain cases \({W_k(\mathfrak{g}, \theta)}\) is a simple current extension of \({\mathscr{V}_k(\mathfrak{g}^{\natural})}\). In order to analyze more complicated non simple current extensions at conformal levels, we present an explicit realization of the simple W-algebra \({W_{k}(\mathit{sl}(4), \theta)}\) at k = ?8/3. We prove, as conjectured in [3], that \({W_{k}(\mathit{sl}(4), \theta)}\) is isomorphic to the vertex algebra \({\mathscr{R}^{(3)}}\), and construct infinitely many singular vectors using screening operators. We also construct a new family of simple current modules for the vertex algebra \({V_k (\mathit{sl}(n))}\) at certain admissible levels and for \({V_k (\mathit{sl}(m \vert n)), m\ne n, m,n\geq 1}\) at arbitrary levels.  相似文献

We investigate Weyl type asymptotics of functional-difference operators associated to mirror curves of special del Pezzo Calabi-Yau threefolds. These operators are \({H(\zeta) = U + U^{-1} + V + \zeta V^{-1}}\) and \({H_{m,n} = U + V + q^{-mn}U^{-m}V^{-n}}\), where \({U}\) and \({V}\) are self-adjoint Weyl operators satisfying \({UV = q^{2}VU}\) with \({q = {\rm e}^{{\rm i}\pi b^{2}}}\), \({b > 0}\) and \({\zeta > 0}\), \({m, n \in \mathbb{N}}\). We prove that \({H(\zeta)}\) and \({H_{m,n}}\) are self-adjoint operators with purely discrete spectrum on \({L^{2}(\mathbb{R})}\). Using the coherent state transform we find the asymptotical behaviour for the Riesz mean \({\sum_{j\ge 1}(\lambda - \lambda_{j})_{+}}\) as \({\lambda \to \infty}\) and prove the Weyl law for the eigenvalue counting function \({N(\lambda)}\) for these operators, which imply that their inverses are of trace class.  相似文献

We call the \({\delta}\)-vector of an integral convex polytope of dimension d flat if the \({\delta}\)-vector is of the form \({(1,0,\ldots,0,a,\ldots,a,0,\ldots,0)}\), where \({a \geq 1}\). In this paper, we give the complete characterization of possible flat \({\delta}\)-vectors. Moreover, for an integral convex polytope \({\mathcal{P}\subset \mathbb{R}^N}\) of dimension d, we let \({i(\mathcal{P},n)=|n\mathcal{P}\cap \mathbb{Z}^N|}\) and \({i^*(\mathcal{P},n)=|n(\mathcal{P} {\setminus}\partial \mathcal{P})\cap \mathbb{Z}^N|}\). By this characterization, we show that for any \({d \geq 1}\) and for any \({k,\ell \geq 0}\) with \({k+\ell \leq d-1}\), there exist integral convex polytopes \({\mathcal{P}}\) and \({\mathcal{Q}}\) of dimension d such that (i) For \({t=1,\ldots,k}\), we have \({i(\mathcal{P},t)=i(\mathcal{Q},t),}\) (ii) For \({t=1,\ldots,\ell}\), we have \({i^*(\mathcal{P},t)=i^*(\mathcal{Q},t)}\), and (iii) \({i(\mathcal{P},k+1) \neq i(\mathcal{Q},k+1)}\) and \({i^*(\mathcal{P},\ell+1)\neq i^*(\mathcal{Q},\ell+1)}\).  相似文献

We show that for every \({k\ge 2}\) and \({n\ge k}\), there is an \({n}\)-dimensional unit cube in \({\mathbb{R}^n}\) which is mapped to a regular \({2k}\)-gon by an orthogonal projection in \({\mathbb{R}^n}\) onto a \({2}\)-dimensional subspace. Moreover, by increasing dimension \({n}\), arbitrary large regular \({2k}\)-gon can be obtained in such a way. On the other hand, for every \({m\ge 3}\) and \({n\ge m-1}\), there is an \({n}\)-dimensional regular simplex of unit edge in \({\mathbb{R}^n}\) which is mapped to a regular \({m}\)-gon by an orthogonal projection onto a plane. Moreover, contrary to the cube case, arbitrary small regular \({m}\)-gon can be obtained in such a way, by increasing dimension \({n}\).  相似文献

Commutative \({\ell}\)-groups G (in which for all \({x, y \in G, xy = yx}\)) were studied long ago. This was then generalized to the study of \({\ell}\)-groups G in which for a given integer n and for all \({x, y \in G, x^{n}y^{n} = y^{n}x^{n}}\). It was then discovered that if for all \({x, y \in G}\), both \({x^{n}y^{n} = y^{n}x^{n}}\) and \({x^{m}y^{m} = y^{m}x^{m}}\) for two different integers m, n, then also \({x^{d}y^{d} = y^{d}x^{d}}\), where d is the greatest common divisor of m, n.  相似文献

We consider, in the context of an Ockham algebra \({{\mathcal{L} = (L; f)}}\), the ideals I of L that are kernels of congruences on \({\mathcal{L}}\). We describe the smallest and the largest congruences having a given kernel ideal, and show that every congruence kernel \({I \neq L}\) is the intersection of the prime ideals P such that \({I \subseteq P}\), \({P \cap f(I) = \emptyset}\), and \({f^{2}(I) \subseteq P}\). The congruence kernels form a complete lattice which in general is not modular. For every non-empty subset X of L, we also describe the smallest congruence kernel to contain X, in terms of which we obtain necessary and sufficient conditions for modularity and distributivity. The case where L is of finite length is highlighted.  相似文献

For p an odd prime, let \({{\mathcal A}_{p}}\) be the complete classical affine association scheme whose associate classes correspond to parallel classes of lines in the classical affine plane AG(2, p). It is known that \({{\mathcal A}_{p}}\) is an amorphic association scheme. We investigate rank 3 fusion schemes of \({{\mathcal A}_{p}}\) whose basis graphs have the same parameters as the Paley graphs \({P(p^{2})}\). In contrast to the Paley graphs, the great majority of graphs we detect are non-self-complementary and non-Schurian. In particular, existence of non-self-complementary graphs with Paley parameters is established for \({p \ge 17}\), with an analogous existence result for non-Schurian such graphs when \({p \ge 11}\). We demonstrate that the number of self-complementary and non-self-complementary strongly regular graphs with Paley parameters grows rapidly as \({p \to \infty}\).  相似文献

We show that on every Ramanujan graph \({G}\), the simple random walk exhibits cutoff: when \({G}\) has \({n}\) vertices and degree \({d}\), the total-variation distance of the walk from the uniform distribution at time \({t=\frac{d}{d-2} \log_{d-1} n + s\sqrt{\log n}}\) is asymptotically \({{\mathbb{P}}(Z > c \, s)}\) where \({Z}\) is a standard normal variable and \({c=c(d)}\) is an explicit constant. Furthermore, for all \({1 \leq p \leq \infty}\), \({d}\)-regular Ramanujan graphs minimize the asymptotic \({L^p}\)-mixing time for SRW among all \({d}\)-regular graphs. Our proof also shows that, for every vertex \({x}\) in \({G}\) as above, its distance from \({n-o(n)}\) of the vertices is asymptotically \({\log_{d-1} n}\).  相似文献

Let \({C={\rm inf} (k/n)\sum_{i=1}^n x_i(x_{i+1}+\cdots+x_{i+k})^{-1}}\), where the infimum is taken over all pairs of integers \({n\geq k\geq 1}\) and all positive \({x_1,\ldots,x_n}\), \({x_{n+i}=x_i}\). We prove that \({\ln 2 \leq C < 0.9305}\). In the definition of the constant C, the operation \({{\rm inf}_{k}\, {\rm inf}_{n}\, {\rm inf}_{x}}\) can be replaced by \({{\rm lim}_{k \to \infty}\, {\rm lim}_{n \to \infty} {\rm inf}_{x}}\).  相似文献

Let \({\mathcal{H}}\) be a complex Hilbert space, \({\mathcal{B(H)}}\) be the algebra of all bounded linear operators on \({\mathcal{H}}\) and \({\mathcal{A} \subseteq \mathcal{B(H)}}\) be a von Neumann algebra without nonzero central abelian projections. Let \({p_n(x_1,x_2 ,\ldots ,x_n)}\) be the commutator polynomial defined by n indeterminates \({x_1, \ldots , x_n}\) and their skew Lie products. It is shown that a mapping \({\delta \colon \mathcal{A} \longrightarrow \mathcal{B(H)}}\) satisfies
$$\delta(p_n(A_1, A_2 ,\ldots , A_n))=\sum_{k=1}^np_n(A_1 ,\ldots , A_{k-1}, \delta(A_k), A_{k+1} ,\ldots , A_n)$$
for all \({A_1, A_2 ,\ldots , A_n \in \mathcal{A}}\) if and only if \({\delta}\) is an additive *-derivation. This gives a positive answer to Conjecture 4.2 of [14].

We introduce and study adhesive spaces. Using this concept we obtain a characterization of stable Baire maps \({f : X\to Y}\) of the class \({\alpha}\) for wide classes of topological spaces. In particular, we prove that for a topological space X and a contractible space Y a map \({f : X \to Y}\) belongs to the nth stable Baire class if and only if there exist a sequence \({(f_k)_{k=1}^\infty}\) of continuous maps \({f_k : {X \to Y}}\) and a sequence \({(F_k)_{k=1}^\infty}\) of functionally ambiguous sets of the nth class in X such that \({f|_{F_k}=f_k|_{F_k}}\) for every k. Moreover, we show that every monotone function \({f : \mathbb{R} \to \mathbb{R}}\) is of the \({\alpha}\) th stable Baire class if and only if it belongs to the first stable Baire class.  相似文献
