We discuss the possible candidates for conformally invariant random non-self-crossing curves which begin and end on the boundary of a multiply connected planar domain, and which satisfy a Markovian-type property. We consider both, the case when the curve connects a boundary component to itself (chordal), and the case when the curve connects two different boundary components (bilateral). We establish appropriate extensions of Loewner’s equation to multiply connected domains for the two cases. We show that a curve in the domain induces a motion on the boundary and that this motion is enough to first recover the motion of the moduli of the domain and then, second, the curve in the interior. For random curves in the interior we show that the induced random motion on the boundary is not Markov if the domain is multiply connected, but that the random motion on the boundary together with the random motion of the moduli forms a Markov process. In the chordal case, we show that this Markov process satisfies Brownian scaling and discuss how this limits the possible conformally invariant random non-self-crossing curves. We show that the possible candidates are labeled by two functions, one homogeneous of degree zero, the other homogeneous of degree minus one, which describes the interaction of the random curve with the boundary. We show that the random curve has the locality property for appropriate choices of the interaction term. The research of the first author was supported by NSA grant H98230-04-1-0039. We discuss the extension of radial SLE to multiply connected planar domains. First, we extend Loewner's theory of slit mappings to multiply connected domains by establishing the radial Komatu-Loewner equation, and show that a simple curve from the boundary to the bulk is encoded by a motion on moduli space and a motion on the boundary of the domain. Then, we show that the vector-field describing the motion of the moduli is Lipschitz. We explain why this implies that “consistent,” conformally invariant random simple curves are described by multidimensional diffusions, where one component is a motion on the boundary, and the other component is a motion on moduli space. We argue what the exact form of this diffusion is (up to a single real parameter κ) in order to model boundaries of percolation clusters. Finally, we show that this moduli diffusion leads to random non-self-crossing curves satisfying the locality property if and only if κ=6.  相似文献

A sensitive issue in numerical calculations for exterior flow problems, e.g.around airfoils, is the treatment of the far field boundary conditions on a computational domain which is bounded. In this paper we investigate this problem for two-dimensional transonic potential flows with subsonic far field flow around airfoil profiles. We take the artificial far field boundary in the subsonic flow region. In the far field we approximate the subsonic potential flow by the Prandtl-Glauert linearization. The latter leads via the Green representation theorem to a boundary integral equation on the far field boundary. This defines a nonlocal boundary condition for the interior ring domain. Our approach leads naturally to a coupled finite element/boundary element method for numerical calculations. It is compared with local boundary conditions. The error analysis for the method is given and we prove convergence provided the solution to the analytic transonic flow problem around the profile exists.

Moduli spaces of pointed curves with some level structure are studied. We prove that for so-called geometric level structures, the levels encountered in the boundary are smooth if the ambient variety is smooth, and in some cases we can describe them explicitly. The smoothness implies that the moduli space of pointed curves (over any field) admits a smooth finite Galois cover. Finally, we prove that some of these moduli spaces are simply connected.  相似文献

We propose an asymptotic approach for the evaluation of effective complex moduli of viscoelastic fibre‐reinforced composite materials. Our method is based on the homogenization technique. We start with a non‐trivial expansion of the input plane‐strain boundary value problem by ratios of visco‐elastic constants. This allows to simplify the governing equations to forms analogous to the complex transport problem. Then we apply the asymptotic homogenization method, coming from the original problem on multi‐connected domain to the cell problem, defined on a unit cell of the periodic structure. For the analytical solution of the cell problem we apply the boundary perturbation technique, the asymptotic expansion by a distance between two neighbouring fibres and the method of two‐point Padé approximants. As results we derive uniform analytical representations for effective complex moduli, valid for all values of the components volume fractions and properties.  相似文献

We consider the flow of a viscous incompressible fluid in a rigid homogeneous porous medium provided with boundary conditions on the pressure around a circular well. When the boundary pressure presents high variations, the permeability of the medium depends on the pressure, so that the model is nonlinear. We propose a spectral discretization of the resulting system of equations which takes into account the axisymmetry of the domain and of the flow. We prove optimal error estimates and present some numerical experiments which confirm the interest of the discretization.  相似文献

We consider the first boundary-value problem for second-order nondivergent parabolic equations with, in general, discontinuous coefficients. We study the regularity of a boundary point assuming that in a neighborhood of this point the boundary of the domain is a surface of revolution. We study the problem of constructing an optimal formula of approximate integration along a d-dimensional parallelepiped. Our construction utilizes mean values along intersections of the integration domain with n hyperplanes of dimension (d−1), each of which is perpendicular to some coordinate axis. We find an optimal cubature formula of this type for two classes of functions. The first class controls the moduli of continuity with respect to all variables, whereas the second class is the intersection of certain periodic multivariate Sobolev classes. We prove that all node hyperplanes of the optimal formula in each case are perpendicular to a certain coordinate axis and are equally spaced and the weights are equal. For specific moduli of continuity and for sufficiently large n, the formula remains optimal for the first class among cubature formulas with arbitrary positions of hyperplanes.  相似文献

The purpose of this paper is to give lower estimates on the range dimension of spherical minimal immersions in various settings. The estimates are obtained by showing that infinitesimal isometric deformations (with respect to a compact Lie group acting transitively on the domain) of spherical minimal immersions give rise to a contraction on the moduli space of the immersions and a suitable power of the contraction brings all boundary points into the interior of the moduli space.

Let G be a split semisimple algebraic group over Q with trivial center. Let S be a compact oriented surface, with or without boundary. We define positive representations of the fundamental group of S to G(R), construct explicitly all positive representations, and prove that they are faithful, discrete, and positive hyperbolic; the moduli space of positive representations is a topologically trivial open domain in the space of all representations. When S have holes, we defined two moduli spaces closely related to the moduli spaces of G-local systems on S. We show that they carry a lot of interesting structures. In particular we define a distinguished collection of coordinate systems, equivariant under the action of the mapping class group of S. We prove that their transition functions are subtraction free. Thus we have positive structures on these moduli spaces. Therefore we can take their points with values in any positive semifield. Their positive real points provide the two higher Teichmüller spaces related to G and S, while the points with values in the tropical semifields provide the lamination spaces. We define the motivic avatar of the Weil–Petersson form for one of these spaces. It is related to the motivic dilogarithm.  相似文献

Sharp bounds for general integral means of analytic functions in the unit disc are determined. These bounds depend only on the moduli of the points on the boundary of the image domain nearest to and farthest from the origin. The proof is shown to be a simple application of a deep theorem of A. This article is a survey of basic facts about the moduli spaces of stable surfaces. These spaces are projective compactifications of the moduli spaces of minimal surfaces of general type. They share few of the nice features of the moduli spaces of stable curves. We consider some classical fibre bundles furnished with almost complex structures of twistor type, deduce their integrability in some cases and study self-holomorphic sections of the general twistor space, with which we define a new moduli space of complex structures. We also recall the theory of flag manifolds to study the Siegel domain and other domains alike, which are the fibres of various symplectic twistor spaces. We prove that they are all Stein. In the context of a Riemann surface, with its canonical symplectic-metric connection and local structure equations, the moduli space is studied again.  相似文献

We study a class of shape optimization problems for semi-linear elliptic equations with Dirichlet boundary conditions in smooth domains in ℝ2. A part of the boundary of the domain is variable as the graph of a smooth function. The problem is equivalently reformulated on a fixed domain. Continuity of the solution to the state equation with respect to domain variations is shown. This is used to obtain differentiability in the general case, and moreover a useful formula for the gradient of the cost functional in the case where the principal part of the differential operator is the Laplacian.
