The state of stress of cantilevered plates made of different materials (steel and glass-reinforced plastic) has been experimentally investigated. The results obtained are compared with the known theoretical solutions. In this study, the static response is presented for a simply supported functionally graded rectangular plate subjected to a transverse uniform load. The generalized shear deformation theory obtained by the author in other recent papers is used. This theory is simplified by enforcing traction-free boundary conditions at the plate faces. No transversal shear correction factors are needed because a correct representation of the transversal shearing strain is given. Material properties of the plate are assumed to be graded in the thickness direction according to a simple power-law distribution in terms of the volume fractions of the constituents. The equilibrium equations of a functionally graded plate are given based on a generalized shear deformation plate theory. The numerical illustrations concern bending response of functionally graded rectangular plates with two constituent materials. The influences played by transversal shear deformation, plate aspect ratio, side-to-thickness ratio, and volume fraction distributions are studied. The present paper deals with a generic class of problems for plates subjected to loadings combining a high in-plane tension and a small lateral pressure. It develops the governing differential equations in the singular pertubation form, through the postulation of retaining only one of the Kirchhoff's assumptions, that the plate thickness in the boundary layer region is invariant. The solution by using the standard perturbation method is discussed. The postulation is justified when it is demonstrated that in the shear boundary layer the plate thickness is of higher-order smallness. The general method of solution by the standard perturbation technique is applied to an annular plate problem. Problems of different combinations of supports at the inner and the outer boundaries are solved. The case in which both edges are simply supported is presented as an illustration of the solution technique. In other cases results only are presented. The effect of support on the boundaries is also discussed. The shear effect is found to be most significant at a clamped edge. In the special geometry, it is possible to demonstrate that, when the condition on membrane force is not met as required in the general theory, thagnitude of the boundary layer changes. Specifically, the paper presents a case in which the membrhich the membrane force is zero at the inner edge. 相似文献

The solution of an initial‐boundary value problem for bending of a piecewise‐homogeneous thermoelastic plate with transverse shear deformation is represented as various combinations of single‐layer and double‐layer time‐dependent potentials. A variant of the theory of orthotropic plates and cylindrical shells taking account of transverse normal and shear deformation was examined. Independent approximations were adopted for distribution of displacements and stresses over the thickness of the shell. One of the requirements for constructing the theory is physical correctness, which is achieved by utilizing variational methods for formulating the mathematical model. The Reissner principle for dynamic processes was used for derivation of the equations. The elliptical part of the starting differential operator was shown to be symmetrical and positive in the space of the integrate of square functions. We examined the problem of the propagation of axially symmetric harmonic waves in the cylinder using the starting differential equations. These results were compared with those obtained equations derived in elasticity theory. The dynamic problem of the natural vibrations of glass-reinforced plastic plates with low shear strength is examined. The calculations are based on the Timoshenko model (allowance for shear strains and rotational inertia). In this article we obtain asymptotic formulas for eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of the nonself-adjoint ordinary differential operator with periodic and antiperiodic boundary conditions, when coefficients are arbitrary summable complex-valued functions. The existence and uniqueness of the solutions are obtained by the Galerkin approximation method. Next, θ-scheme of operator splitting algorithm is applied to rotating Navier-Stokes equations and two subproblems are derived. The problem of the state of stress and strain in an elastic half-space with a cutout in the shape of a circular slot is solved by Kelvin's method /1/. The conditions on the slot are satisfied in a suitable manner by selecting the scalar and vector mass force potentials as generalized functions concentrated at the slot. The problem reduces to a system of Fredholm integral equations of the second kind in a semi-infinite interval. The solution for an elastic space with a slot is obtained in final form in the limiting case, which enables an estimate to be made of the magnitude of the settling of the earth's surface as a result of oil or gas deposit development. 相似文献

In this paper we study the existence of weak and strong global solutions and uniform decay of the energy to the Kirchhoff plates equations with thermal effect and memory conditions working at the boundary. We show that the dissipation produced by the memory effect not depend on the present values of temperature gradient. That is, we show that the dissipation produced by memory effect is strong enough to produce exponential decay of the solution provided the relaxation functions also decays exponentially. When the relaxation functions decays polynomially, we show that the solution decays polynomially with the same rate. 相似文献
