We propose and confirm a novel technique of optical frequency domain reflectometry based on multidigitized coherence using a multimode laser. The proposed system can easily provide the potential for high resolution on the order of 10 μm without scanning frequencies as in frequency domain reflectometers of either continuous or stepwise sweep. The theoretical approach agrees well with the experimental results demonstrated using a commercially available multimode laser diode. 相似文献

We report a photonic crystal fiber (PCF)-based optical coherence tomography (OCT) system, in which conventional single-mode fiber for the transmission line and the fiber coupler for the beam splitter/combiner are replaced with PCF and PCF coupler. The PCF coupler fabricated using the fused biconical tapered (FBT) method showed a nearly flat coupling ratio over a broad spectral bandwidth of 400 nm, which provided an axial resolution of 3-μm for OCT imaging. With a white-light source, the 8-μm thick air gap between two stacked cover glasses was measured, and with a conventional superluminecent diode (SLD) source, the in vitro images of rat eye and Misgurnus mizolepis skin were successfully obtained. The PCF and PCF coupler might enable a white-light as the source for the cost effective and high-resolution OCT system. 相似文献

We discuss the origin of ferromagnetism in dilute magnetic semiconductors based on ab initio calculations for Mn-doped GaN,
GaP, GaAs and GaSb. We use the Korringa–Kohn–Rostoker method in connection with the coherent potential approximation to describe
the substitutional and moment disorder. Curie temperatures (T
C) are calculated from first-principles by using a mapping on a Heisenberg model in a mean field approximation. It is found
that if impurity bands are formed in the gap, as it is the case for (Ga, Mn)N, double exchange dominates leading to a characteristic
√c dependence of T
C as a function of the Mn concentration c. On the other hand, if the d-states are localized, as in (Ga, Mn)Sb, Zener's p–d exchange prevails resulting in a linear
c-dependence of T
C. In order to have more precise estimations of T
C, effective exchange coupling constants J
ij
's are calculated by using the formula of Liechtenstein et al. It is found that the range of the exchange interaction in (Ga, Mn)N is very short. On the other hand, in (Ga, Mn)As the interaction
is weaker but long ranged. Monte Carlo simulations show that the T
C values of (Ga, Mn)N are very low since percolation is difficult to achieve for small concentrations and the mean field approximation
strongly overestimates T

Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) is considered as fundamentally new image modality having advantages such as high-speed, real-time cross sectional imaging with non-invasive in vivo investigation of biological tissue and its potential for clinical application is highly evaluated. In spite of these merits, the research activity in OCT has not taken much attention until recently. However the situation in Korea is gradually changing due to understanding of its versatile applications. Active research and commercialization are underway. Bulk optics-based OCT system is changed into alignfree fiber-optics system. With our expertise in the fabrication of fiber grating devices and strong background in control of fiber based system, we hope to contribute in developing simplified all-fiber OCT system with better performance. As a leading research group, working on OCT, we have firstly implemented fiber-based OCT system in Korea and demonstrated the imaging performance with glass plate and onion. 相似文献

Cavity optomechanics represents a flexible platform for the implementation of quantum technologies, useful in particular for the realization of quantum interfaces, quantum sensors and quantum information processing. However, the dispersive, radiation–pressure interaction between the mechanical and the electromagnetic modes is typically very weak, harnessing up to now the demonstration of interesting nonlinear dynamics and quantum control at the single photon level. It has already been shown both theoretically and experimentally that if the interaction is mediated by a Josephson circuit, one can have an effective dynamics corresponding to a huge enhancement of the single-photon optomechanical coupling. Here we analyze in detail this phenomenon in the general case when the cavity mode and the mechanical mode interact via an off-resonant qubit. Using a Schrieffer–Wolff approximation treatment, we determine the regime where this tripartite hybrid system behaves as an effective cavity optomechanical system in the strong coupling regime. 相似文献

We introduce a numerical in-focus Fourier-domain optical coherence tomography(in-focus FD-OCT) which can measure cross-sectional images of samples with the high lateral resolution comparable with the resolution in the focal plane in overall range of measurement. In this method, the lateral resolution is enhanced by lateral signal processing of a complex OCT image obtained with FD-OCT. Strong interaction level shifts and widths in - and K- atoms have been analyzed. The phenomenological density dependent approach as well as the relativistic mean field (RMF) model yield nucleus optical potentials with a repulsive real part in the nuclear interior. This has important consequences for the spectroscopy of hypernuclei. The study of K- atoms cannot resolve the depth of the K- nucleus potential. The fits to the kaonic atom data are satisfactory for both the relatively shallow potentials derived from chiral models and for the deep potentials based on the phenomenological and RMF analyses. 相似文献

In low-coherence reflectometry, light scattered back from a medium is expected to contain spectral properties as well as range information on the reflective boundaries and backscattering sites. Low-coherence interferometric systems with particular signal-processing techniques have been proposed that can extract both the range and spectral properties inside the medium simultaneously. This class of systems is called coherence spectrotomography.
