1 INTRODUCTION There has been an increasing interest in the re- search of diode-pumped solid-state lasers in recent years because of the rapid development of high power diode lasers. The absorption peak of Nd3 ions at about 800 nm corresponding to 4I9/2→ 2H9/2 tran- sition is suitable for commercial laser diode GaAlAs pumping[1]. A new laser crystal Nd005La0.95Sc3(BO3)4 up to 50mm×38mm×7 mn was grown by top-seeded solution growth method from a Li6B4O9 flux. The grown crystal was characterized by X-ray powder diffraction. Its crystal structure is monoclinic with space group Cc and the unit cell dimensions: a=12.066(5), b=9.864(2), c=7.740(3) A, β= 105.48(5)°, V=887.8(6)A3, Z=4, Dc=3.81g/cm3, which belongs to low-temperature phase. The optical absorption of the crystal shows that NLSB has a strong absorption band at 807.7 nm, which is suitable for laser-diode pumping.  相似文献

Nd3+:NaLa(WO4)2 crystals with a dimension up to 7 mm were grown from a high temperature solution using a double-crucible method. Scanning electron microscopy observations of the crystals showed that there were no small cracks on the surface of the crystals although they underwent two phase transitions when cooling down from high temperatures. X-ray diffraction studies indicated that the as-obtained product is pure low- temperature tetragonal Nd3+:NaLa(WO4)2. The absorption and fluorescence spectra for Nd3+:NaLa(WO4)2 were measured at room temperature. The absorption band at 804 nm has a wide full-width half maximum of 23 nm whose origin is discussed. The absorption and emission cross sections were calculated to be 7.24*10-20 cm2 at 804 nm and 6.54*10-20 cm2 at 1057 nm, respectively.  相似文献

The Yb3+-doped LiGd(MoO4)2 crystal with the size up to Φ20×30 mm3 has been grown by Czochralski technique.The polarized room temperature absorption and emission spectra have been investigated.This crystal exhibits a broad absorption band centered at 975 nm with an FWHM of 43 and 59 nm for π-and σ-polarization,respectively,and the corresponding maximal absorption cross-sections are 3.36 and 2.42×10-20 cm2.The emission broadband has an FWHM of 47 and 54 nm for π-and σ-polarization,respectively,with the corresponding emission cross sections of 3.92 and 3.34 × 10-20 cm2 at 1020 nm.The measured fluorescence lifetime is 287 μs.  相似文献

研究了YbxY1-xAl3(BO3)4(Yb∶YAB)晶体的生长及光学性质,结果表明,以K2Mo3O10作为助熔剂生长Yb∶YAB晶体效果较好,根据测定的Yb∶YAB折射率计算的一类位相匹配角为θm(Ⅰ)=34°12′,与实验测定值θm(Ⅰ)=34°38′吻合较好。该晶体室温吸收谱在956和975nm处存在两个吸收带,适于InGaAs泵浦;室温π偏振吸收比σ偏振吸收略强;103和104μm处各存在一荧光峰,103μm处荧光寿命为1379ms;估算的发射截面数量级为10-21cm2  相似文献

<正>This paper reports the growth,X-ray diffraction and spectroscopy of Nd~(3+):Sr_3Gd_2(BO_3)_4 crystal.A Nd~(3+):Sr_3Gd_2(BO_3)_4 crystal with dimensions ofφ20×45 mm~3 has been grown by the Czochralski method.Nd~(3+):Sr_3Gd_2(BO_3)_4 crystal belongs to the orthorhombic system,space group Pnma(D_(2h))with a=0.7401,b=1.604 and c=0.8755 nm.The absorption and emission spectra of Nd~(3+):Sr_3Gd_2(BO_3)_4 were investigated.The absorption cross sectionσ_a is 3.11×10~(-20)cm~2 at 808 nm. <正>The crystal of Nd0.06Y0.94Sr6Sc(BO3)6 with the dimensions up to 35 mm × 28 mm × 13 mm was grown by a top-seeded solution growth method from Li6B4O9 flux. The grown crystal was characterized by X-ray powder diffraction. The optical absorption of the crystal shows that it has a strong absorption band at 8070 A, and the absorption coefficient is 2.17cm-1 with a FWHM of 41 A, which can match with the wavelength of the diode-laser (LD) and is suitable for the LD pumping. Based on the Judd-Ofelt theory, the three parameters of line oscillator strength Ω(λ) (λ = 2, 4 and 6) of the Nd3+ion in the crystal were calculated as follows: Ω2= 1.194 × 10-20, Ω4= 4.186 × 10-20 and Ω6 = 3.351 × 10-20cm2, which are relatively larger. The results indicate that the crystal Nd0.06Y0.94Sr6Sc(BO3)6 may be a kind of high-efficient laser material for diode-pumped.  相似文献

EPR and optical absorption spectra of Cr3+ ions doped in KZnClSO4 x 3H2O single crystals have been studied at room temperature. The EPR spectrum exhibits a group of three fine structure transitions characteristic of Cr3+ ions. From the observed EPR spectra, the spin-Hamiltonian parameters have been determined. The optical absorption spectrum exhibits two broad bands characteristic of Cr3+ ions in an octahedral symmetry. The large size 12 mm diameter 4-chloro-3-nitrobenzophenone (4C3N) single crystal has been grown by using vertical Bridgman technique. The grown crystal was confirmed by Powder X-ray diffraction analysis. The crystalline perfection of the grown crystal was examined by high-resolution X-ray diffraction study. The cutoff wavelength of the grown crystal was analyzed by optical studies. The thermal property of the grown crystal was studied by thermogravimetric and differential thermal analyses. The fluorescence spectra of grown 4C3N single crystals exhibit emission peak at 575 nm. The microhardness measurements were used to analyze the mechanical property of the grown crystal. The laser-induced surface damage threshold for the grown crystal was measured using Nd:YAG laser.  相似文献

Near-stoichiometric lithium niobate (SLN) crystals doped with up to 1.6 mol % Zn and codoped with various Nd concentrations in the melt (0.2, 0.5, 0.9, and 1.5 mol %) (Nd:Zn:SLN) are grown from 58.6 mol % Li(2)O using conventional Czochralski technique. Crystals are pulled at the rate of 0.35 mmh with seed rotation at 9 rpm. Concentrations of Zn and Nd in the crystal are varied by adding appropriate amounts of ZnO and Nd(2)O(3) to the starting composition. Unit cell parameters of the grown crystals are calculated by Rietveld refinement method using FULLPROFF software. Domain structure studies are carried out by chemical etching followed by microscopic examination. Dielectric studies reveal the existence of piezoelectric resonance at high frequencies. Enhancement in dielectric constant and tan delta in Nd doped samples has been attributed to the space charge polarization. Nd doped samples exhibit reduction in the relative permittivity after oxygen annealing. Transmission spectra of Nd:Zn:SLN crystals in the UV region exhibit blueshift in the cutoff wavelength. In Mid Infrared (MIR) region crystals doped with 1.6 mol % Zn have shift in the OH absorption peak from 2873 to 2833 nm. Judd-Ofelt analysis carried out on the absorption spectra of codoped crystal yields the lifetime of 104 mus for the metastable state (4)F(32). The branching ratio for the electronic transition from (4)F(32) to (4)I(112) is high compared to that for (4)F(32) to (4)I(132), indicating a higher emission cross section for the former transition. Laser damage threshold evaluated using 532 nm, 5 ns pulsed neodymium doped yttrium aluminum garnet laser, shows an increase by two orders of magnitude for crystals doped with 1.6 mol % Zn. Photorefractive damage threshold for these crystals shows an enhancement of four orders of magnitude due to increase in the photoconductivity.  相似文献

Crystal of Yb3+-doped Ba3Gd(BO3)3 has been grown by the Czochralski method. The spectroscopic characterizations have been investigated at room temperature. The Yb3+:Ba3Gd(BO3)3 crystal exhibits broad absorption at 976nm with FWHM of 7nm and large overall spitting of 2F7/2 manifold (823cm-1). The absorption and emission cross sections are 5.09×10-21cm2 at 976nm and 0.97×10-21cm2 at 1040nm,respectively. The fluorescence lifetime is 2.84 ms.  相似文献

A Nd3+ :(Sr0.7Ca0.3)3Y(BO3)3 crystal with dimensions of 17×23 mm3 has been grown by the Czochralski method. The spectroscopic characterization of Nd3+ :(Sr0.7Ca0.3)3Y(BO3)3 crystal was investigated. The polarized absorption cross-sections of Nd3+ :(Sr0.7Ca0.3)3Y(BO3)3 crystal are 2.81×10-20 cm2 with full width at half maximum (FWHM) of 14 nm at 808 nm for σ-polarization and 2.04×10 -20 cm 2 with FWHM of 19 nm at 807 nm for σ-polarization, respectively. The polarized emission cross-sections of Nd3+ :(Sr0.7Ca0.3)3Y(BO3)3 crystal are 12.2×10-20 cm2 at 1062 nm for the π-polarization and 13.6×10-20 cm2 at 1061 nm for the σ-polarization, respectively. After the Ca 2+ ion partly substitutes for Sr2+ ion in the Sr3Y(BO3)3 crystal to form the (Sr0.7Ca0.3)3Y(BO3)3 solid solution, it can improve the quantum efficiency of Nd3+ :(Sr0.7Ca0.3)3Y(BO3)3 crystal. The quantum efficiency is 31.7%. These results may be regarded Nd3+ :(Sr0.7Ca0.3)3Y(BO3)3 crystal as a potential solid-state laser material.  相似文献

K2Al2B2O7 (KABO) is a new nonlinear optical crystal capable of laser harmonic generation in the UV range. However, abnormal UV absorption prevents its application in effectively generating UV light with wavelength shorter than 300 nm. The transmittance spectra of the grown crystals show distinct absorption bands at 216 nm and 264 nm. It is observed that the UV absorption is strongly correlated with iron impurity at a parts per million (ppm) level. Furthermore, electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectra of the absorbing crystals show a strong signal at g = 2.00 position corresponding to a Fe3+ center. A new crystal growth method which reduces the iron content has been proposed and results show that the new KABO crystal is free from the Fe3+ UV absorptions.  相似文献

通过坩埚下降法生长出不同物质的量分数Eu2+掺杂的KCa1-xEuxCl3(x=0.005、0.01、0.02、0.03、0.05)单晶,并对晶体进行了X射线粉末衍射、热重、透过率、光致发光光谱、衰减时间、X射线激发发射光谱等测定。通过相图及结构分析,判断出该晶体为一致熔融化合物,并得出其为正交结构,晶胞参数为a=0.75604 nm,b=1.04823 nm,c=0.72657 nm,空间群为Pnma(62)。在紫外光的激发下,晶体在434 nm左右有一个宽的发射峰,对应于Eu2+的4f65d1→4f7跃迁;光致衰减时间1.473μs,晶体在X射线激发下的发光强度随Eu2+离子浓度增加而增强。  相似文献
