Assume that X is a left Banach module over a unital C*-algebra A. It is shown that almost every n-sesquilinear-quadratic mapping h:X×X×XnA is an n-sesquilinear-quadratic mapping when holds for all x,y,z1,…,znX.Moreover, we prove the generalized Hyers–Ulam–Rassias stability of an n-sesquilinear-quadratic mapping on a left Banach module over a unital C*-algebra.  相似文献

A closed topological n-manifold M n is of S 1-category 2 if it can be covered by two open subsets W 1,W 2 such that the inclusions W i M n factor homotopically through maps W i S 1M n . We show that the fundamental group of such an n-manifold is a cyclic group or a free product of two cyclic groups with nontrivial amalgamation. In particular, if n = 3, the fundamental group is cyclic.   相似文献

It is shown that an n × n matrix of continuous linear maps from a pro-C^*-algebra A to L(H), which verifies the condition of complete positivity, is of the form [V^*TijФ(·)V]^n i,where Ф is a representation of A on a Hilbert space K, V is a bounded linear operator from H to K, and j=1,[Tij]^n i,j=1 is a positive element in the C^*-algebra of all n×n matrices over the commutant of Ф(A) in L(K). This generalizes a result of C. Y.Suen in Proc. Amer. Math. Soc., 112(3), 1991, 709-712. Also, a covariant version of this construction is given.  相似文献

For estimating the entropy of an absolutely continuous multivariate distribution, we propose nonparametric estimators based on the Euclidean distances between the n sample points and their k n -nearest neighbors, where {k n : n = 1, 2, …} is a sequence of positive integers varying with n. The proposed estimators are shown to be asymptotically unbiased and consistent.   相似文献

We study sequent calculus for multi-modal logic K D45n and its complexity. We introduce a loop-check free sequent calculus. Loop-check is eliminated by using the marked modal operator □i, which is used as an alternative to sequents with histories ([8], [3], [5]). All inference rules are invertible or semi-invertible. To get this, we use or branches beside common and branches. We prove the equivalence between known sequent calculus and our newly introduced efficient sequent calculus. We concentrate on the complexity analysis of the introduced sequent calculus for multi-modal logic K D45n. We prove that the space complexity of the given calculus is polynomial (O(l 3)). We show the maximum height of the constructed derivation tree that leads to the reduction of the time and space complexity. We present a decision algorithm for multi-modal logic K D45n and some nontrivial examples to improve the introduced loop-check free sequent calculus.  相似文献

Let (G, I, N, S) be an affine topological Tits system, and let Γ be a torsion-free cocompact lattice in G. This article studies the coinvariants H 0(Γ; C(Ω,Z)), where Ω is the Furstenberg boundary of G. It is shown that the class [1] of the identity function in H 0(Γ; C(Ω, Z)) has finite order, with explicit bounds for the order. A similar statement applies to the K 0 group of the boundary crossed product C *-algebra C(Ω)Γ. If the Tits system has type ? 2, exact computations are given, both for the crossed product algebra and for the reduced group C *-algebra.  相似文献

Let M n , n 3, be a complete oriented immersed minimal hypersurface in Euclidean space R n+1. We show that if the total scalar curvature on M is less than the n/2 power of 1/C s , where C s is the Sobolev constant for M, then there are no L 2 harmonic 1-forms on M. As corollaries, such a minimal hypersurface contains no nontrivial harmonic functions with finite Dirichlet integral and so it has only one end. This implies finally that M is a hyperplane.  相似文献

Let be an n-dimensional compact, possibly with boundary, submanifold in an (n + p)-dimensional space form R n+p (c). Assume that r is even and , in this paper we introduce rth mean curvature function S r and (r + 1)-th mean curvature vector field . We call M to be an r-minimal submanifold if on M, we note that the concept of 0-minimal submanifold is the concept of minimal submanifold. In this paper, we define a functional of , by calculation of the first variational formula of J r we show that x is a critical point of J r if and only if x is r-minimal. Besides, we give many examples of r-minimal submanifolds in space forms. We calculate the second variational formula of J r and prove that there exists no compact without boundary stable r-minimal submanifold with in the unit sphere S n+p . When r = 0, noting S 0 = 1, our result reduces to Simons’ result: there exists no compact without boundary stable minimal submanifold in the unit sphere S n+p .   相似文献

Let be a field of characteristic and S 1 the unit circle. We prove that the shc-structure on a cochain algebra (A,d A ) induces an associative product on the negative cyclic homology HC * A. When the cochain algebra (A,d A ) is the algebra of normalized cochains of the simply connected topological space X with coefficients in , then HC * A is isomorphic as a graded algebra to the S 1-equivariant cohomology algebra of LX, the free loop space of X. We use the notion of shc-formality introduced in Topology 41, 85–106 (2002) to compute the S 1-equivariant cohomology algebras of the free loop space of the complex projective space when n + 1 = 0 [p] and of the even spheres S 2n when p = 2.   相似文献

Recently, Kajihara gave a Bailey-type transformation relating basic hypergeometric series on the root system A n , with different dimensions n. We give, with a new, elementary proof, an elliptic extension of this transformation. We give a necessary and sufficient condition for the uniformly non-l n (1) property of Musielak-Orlicz sequence spacesl Φ generated by a sequence Φ=(ϕn:n⩾l) of finite Orlicz functions such that for eachn∈ℕ. As a result, forn 0⩾2, there exist spacesl Φ which are only uniformly non-l n (1) fornn 0. Moreover we obtain a characterization of uniformly non-l n (1) and reflexive Orlicz sequence spaces over a wide class of purely atomic measures and of uniformly non-l n (1) Nakano sequence spaces. We consider the problem of estimating the variance of a sample quantile calculated from a random sample of sizen. Ther-th-order kernel-smoothed bootstrap estimator is known to yield an impressively small relative error of orderO(n −r/(2r+1) ). It nevertheless requires strong smoothness conditions on the underlying density function, and has a performance very sensitive to the precise choice of the bandwidth. The unsmoothed bootstrap has a poorer relative error of orderO(n −1/4), but works for less smooth density functions. We investigate a modified form of the bootstrap, known as them out ofn bootstrap, and show that it yields a relative error of order smaller thanO(n −1/4) under the same smoothness conditions required by the conventional unsmoothed bootstrap on the density function, provided that the bootstrap sample sizem is of an appropriate order. The estimator permits exact, simulation-free, computation and has accuracy fairly insensitive to the precise choice ofm. A simulation study is reported to provide empirical comparison of the various methods. The collection of minimal herissons in 3 is endowed with a vector space structure. The existence of this structure is related to the fact that null curves inC 3 are described by a single map from the étalé space of the sheaf of germs of holomorphic sections of the line bundle of degree 2 over 1 to C3, which islinear on stalks. Akemann showed that any von Neumann algebra with a weak* separable dual space has a faithful normal representation on a separable Hilbert space. He posed the question: If a C*-algebra has a weak* separable state space, must it have a faithful representation on a separable Hilbert space? Wright solved this question negatively and showed that a unital C*-algebra has the weak* separable state space if and only if it has a unital completely positive map, into a type I factor on a separable Hilbert space, whose restriction to the self-adjoint part induces an order isomorphism. He called such a C*-algebra almost separably representable. We say that a unital C*-algebra is small if it has a unital complete isometry into a type I factor on a separable Hilbert space. In this paper we show that a unital C*-algebra is small if and only if the state spaces of all n by n matrix algebras over the C*-algebra are weak*-separable. It is natural to ask whether almost separably representable algebras are small or not. We settle this question positively for simple C*-algebras but the general question remains open.  相似文献

If p is the smallest prime factor of |n|, we prove that a minimal non-commutative n-insertive ring contains n 4 elements and these rings have five (2p+4) isomorphic classes for p = 2 (p ≠ 2). We completely determine the homotopy groups n (.) of the unitary group and the space of projections of purely infinite simple C *-algebras in terms of K-theory. We also prove that the unitary group of a purely infinite simple C *-algebra A is a contractible topological space if and only if K0(A) = K1(A) = {0}, and again if and only if the unitary group of the associated generalized Calkin algebra L(HA) / K(HA) is contractible. The well-known Kuiper's theorem is extended to a new class of C *-algebras.  相似文献
