An enhanced magnetoresistance and a two-fold effect result from impurity dopant were observed in composites of La0.67Ca0.33MnO3/YSZ and La0.67Ca0.33MnO3/Fe3O4. Where YSZ represents yttria-stabilized zirconia and the doping level of both YSZ and Fe3O4 is 1 mol%. Different electrical and magnetic transport properties, in particular a lower field magnetization behavior, were observed between pure La0.67Ca0.33MnO3 and the impurity doped La0.67Ca0.33MnO3 composites. Compared with pure La0.67Ca0.33MnO3, a possible interpretation is presented by considering the influences of YSZ and Fe3O4 on the structure of grain boundaries and/or surfaces of La0.67Ca0.33MnO3grains.  相似文献

The (1−x)La0.67Ca0.33MnO3+xCuO composites have been synthesized by a new liquid phase method. The XRD and SEM measurements reveal that little CuO is soluble in the structure of La0.67Ca0.33MnO3 and is mainly distributed at the grain boundary of La0.67Ca0.33MnO3. As CuO content x increases, the magnetization M values increase until x=0.05 and M values decrease when x further increases at low temperature. For x=0.10, 0.20 and 0.30 composites, double metal-insulator transitions accompanying a single ferromagnetic transition are observed. Large low-field magnetoresistance is achieved for the composites and the largest magnetoresistance appeared when x=0.20.  相似文献

In this paper we report the study of the perovskites La0.7Ca0.3Mn0.5Co0.5O3 and La0.8Sr0.2Mn0.5Co0.5O3 by neutron powder diffraction at various temperatures and magnetization measurements in zero applied field and at low cooling regimes. The replacement of half Mn by Co in La0.7Ca0.3MnO3 and La0.8Sr0.2MnO3 destroys their long-range ferromagnetism exhibiting a cluster glass ferromagnetic order similar to the one observed in many cobaltites.  相似文献

The surface layer effects on transport in epitaxial La2/3Ca1/3MnO3 thin films are studied. It was found that the two-probe resistance is nonlinear which is enhanced with decreasing temperature. Similar to the resistance of intrinsic La2/3Ca1/3MnO3 thin films reported in the literature, the apparent dynamic contact resistance behaves semiconducting at high temperatures, passes through a peak, and displays a metallic behavior. At lowest temperatures, the curve of the contact resistance versus temperature shows a little upturn. The temperature dependent work function difference between the surface layer and the thin film underneath, together with the tunneling process across either the resulting charge depleted layer or the semiconducting surface layer is used to explain our observations.  相似文献

The investigation of the manganites La2/3−xPrxSr1/3MnO3, La2/3Sr1/3−xCaxMnO3 and La2/3+xCa1/3−2xAgxMnO3, which all exhibit Mn3+:Mn4+=2, shows that it is possible to reach high magnetoresistance at room temperature, up to 21% under 1.2 T. These materials are compared to La5/6Ag1/6MnO3 which corresponds to the same Mn3+:Mn4+ ratio and exhibits a magnetoresistance of 25% in this field. An interesting feature deals with the value of the insulator-metal transition temperature TIM, often higher than TC, especially for Ag-based compounds. It is suggested that the latter results either from a better oxygenation of the surface of the grains or from a migration of silver toward the surface.  相似文献

The effect of Gd-doping on the charge ordering (CO) state in perovskite-type manganates Bi0.3−xGdxCa0.7MnO3 with x=0, 0.02, 0.05, 0.1, 0.3 has been investigated by transport and magnetic property measurements. It is found that CO temperature (TCO) and antiferromagnetic (AFM) ordering temperature TN occurring below TCO decrease obviously with increasing Gd-doping level. Accompanying the variation of TCO, the increased magnetization and the decreased resistivity are observed. In addition, the increased magnetic inhomogeneity has been also observed in the samples based on the difference between the zero-field-cooling (ZFC) magnetization MZFC and field-cooling (FC) magnetization MFC, which is ascribed to the competition between ferromagnetic (FM) phase induced by Gd-doping and CO AFM phase. The experimental results indicate that the Bi3+ lone pair electron with 6s2 character plays a dominating role on the CO state of Bi0.3Ca0.7MnO3.  相似文献

The electrical transport and magnetic properties of high Bi doped (La0.73Bi0.27)0.67Ca0.33MnO3 are studied at the temperature and magnetic field ranges from 10 to 300 K and 0 to 3 T. Significant temperature and magnetic field hystereses are observed in both resistivity and magnetization measurements. Meanwhile, an enhanced magnetoresistance effect, within a wide temperature window, is obtained in the (La0.73Bi0.27)0.67Ca0.33MnO3. The hysteresis and enhanced magnetoresistance are discussed based on an inhomogeneous metastable structure related to the Bi dopant.  相似文献

采用磁控溅射,紫外线光刻和离子束刻蚀制备了La2/3Ca1/3MnO3/Eu2CuO4/La2/3Ca1/3MnO3磁性隧道结.通过对获得的磁性隧道结的I-V特性测量,发现非线性的I-V特性,显示结样品的隧穿特性.有趣的是发现在电极材料La2/3Ca1/3MnO3的金属-绝缘体转变温度(Tp)以下,I-V曲线出现一个跳变.随着温度降低,开始出现跳变的临界电流增大,但是跳变都发生在同样的电压下~209mV.当电流增大或减小在跳变点附近出现回滞.这一跳变只发生在铁磁金属态,表明这是一个磁性相关联的效应,可能对应一种新的磁性开关过程.虽然,目前对这一现象背后的物理机理还不清楚,但是,这一现象有可能在未来自旋电子学器件方面具有潜在的应用价值. 关键词: 庞磁电阻 磁性隧道结 开关效应  相似文献

Rare-earth-based manganites ABO3 may present interesting properties when the lanthanide (A-site) and/or the manganese (B-site) are partially substituted by divalent elements. Heavy lanthanides are particularly appealing because of the expected interplay between the intrinsic magnetic properties of the rare-earth element (Ln) and those of the ferromagnetic manganese sublattice. As such, a spin reorientation has been observed during magnetization-versus-temperature cycles due to a negative exchange interaction between Mn and Ln. We present herein high-quality epitaxial thin films (∼200 nm thick) of Gd0.67Ca0.33MnO3 deposited onto (1 0 0) SrTiO3 substrates by pulsed-laser deposition. Enhanced properties were observed in comparison with bulk samples. The magnetic transition temperature Tc of the as-grown films is much higher than the corresponding bulk values. Most interesting, magnetization measurements performed under small applied fields, exhibit magnetization reversals below Tc, no matter whether the film is field-cooled (FC) or zero-field-cooled (ZFC). The reversal mechanism is discussed in terms of a negative exchange f-d interaction and magnetic anisotropy, this latter enhanced by strain effects induced by the lattice mismatch between the film and the substrate.  相似文献

The shifts of the magnetic and charge ordering transition temperatures caused by Nd substitution for Y in Nd2/3Ca1/3MnO3 CMR narrow-band perovskite manganite have been studied. At low temperatures, three different long-range magnetic orderings consistent with a phase separation scenario have been observed in the doped compound (Nd0.9Y0.1)2/3Ca1/3MnO3 by neutron-diffraction study: the antiferromagnetic orderings of PCE and DE types existing below ∼110 and ∼60 K, respectively, and the ferromagnetic one of B type existing below ∼42. Magnetic phase transformations temperatures as well as those of charge ordering have been found to be structural-dependent. Y-doping leads to the decrease of the anisotropy of the orthorhombic Pnma crystal lattice b/√2c, which causes a decrease of the indirect exchange parameters in the system and thus a decrease in the magnetic transformation temperatures for 20-30 K in the doped compound. Doping leads as well to the higher level of the coherent Jahn-Teller distortions of the MnO6 octahedra in the 200-300 K temperature region, which results in the increase of the charge ordering temperature for ∼80 K.  相似文献

The influence of Fe3O4 contents on the electrical transport properties (resistivity and ac susceptibility) of a series of composite samples of La0.67Ca0.33MnO3/Fe3O4 is studied. Results show that the Fe3O4 phase not only shifts the intrinsic insulator-metal (I-M) transition temperature TP1 to a lower temperature, but also causes a new I-M transition at a lower temperature TP2 (TP2<TP1). On the basis of an analysis by scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction, we suggest that the decrease of the I-M transition temperature and the formation of the new I-M transition are caused by the segregation of a new phases related to the Fe3O4 at grain boundaries or surfaces of the La0.67Ca0.33MnO3 grains.  相似文献

We report on the specific heat C(T) of doped manganites Nd0.5Sr0.5MnO3, Nd0.5Ca0.5MnO3, Sm0.5Ca0.5MnO3, Dy0.5Ca0.5MnO3 and Ho0.5Ca0.5MnO3 in the temperature range 2?T?300 K using modified rigid ion model (MRIM). The present specific heat results are in general satisfactory agreement with experimental data except at very low temperatures (i.e. T?12 K). Also a sharp peak observed in the experimental results for these compounds around 5 K could not be revealed by our computed results as they arise due to Schottky-like anomaly. Besides, we have reported the cohesive and the thermal properties of these compounds. The results obtained by us are discussed in detail.  相似文献

Temperature (4.2–260 K) and magnetic field (0–50 kOe) dependencies of the DC electrical resistance, DC magnetization, and AC magnetic susceptibility of (Sm0.65Sr0.35)MnO3 prepared from high purity components have been studied. (Sm0.65Sr0.35)MnO3 undergoes a temperature-induced transition between low-temperature ferromagnetic metallic and high-temperature paramagnetic insulating-like states. A magnetic field strongly affects this transition resulting in a metallic state and “colossal” magnetoresistance in the vicinity of the metal↔insulator transition. Magnetic and electric properties of (Sm0.65Sr0.35)MnO3 are different compared to those reported earlier for similar composition, which is attributable to the purity of the starting materials and/or different process of synthesis. The character of phase transformations observed in (Sm0.65Sr0.35)MnO3 is compared to that reported for Gd5(SixGe4−x) intermetallic alloys with a true first order phase transition.  相似文献

采用脉冲激光沉积技术制备了Ti/Pr0.7Ca0.3MnO3/Pt和Ti/Pr0.7Ca0.3MnO3/La0.67Sr0.33MnO3/Pt异质结并研究了La0.67Sr0.33MnO3功能插层对异质结电致电阻特性的影响. 实验结果表明La0.67Sr0.33MnO3功能层的引入有效提高了器件的电阻转变特性,尤其是电阻转变率和疲劳性得到了极大的改善. 对La0.67Sr0.33MnO3插层改善电致电阻转变特性的机理进行了定性的分析. 关键词: 电致电阻效应 电阻转变比率 疲劳特性  相似文献

Visible photoluminescence and its temperature dependence of La2/3Ca1/3MnO3 in the temperature range 138-293 K were measured. It was observed that the main broad band centered at ∼1.77 eV with the shoulders at ∼1.57 and ∼1.90 eV existed in the entire temperature range. It can be well fitted by three Gaussian curves B1, B2 and B3 centered at ∼1.52, ∼1.75 and ∼1.92 eV, respectively. The intensities of the peak B1 and B2 vary as temperature increases. In the entire temperature range, the intensity of B1 increases with increasing temperature, whereas that of B2 decreases. The photoluminescence mechanisms for La2/3Ca1/3MnO3 are presented based on the electronic structures formed by the interactions among spin, charge and lattice, in which B1 was identified with the charge transfer excitation of an electron from the lower Jahn-Teller split eg level of a Mn3+ ion to the eg level of an adjacent Mn4+ ion, B2 is assigned to the transition between the spin up and spin down eg bands separated by Hund's coupling energy EJ and B3 is attributed to the transition, determined by the crystal field energy EC, between a t2g core electron of Mn3+ to the spin up eg bands of Mn4+ by a dipole allowed charge transfer process.  相似文献

The perovskite bilayers La0.67Ca0.33MnO3 (LCMO) (100 nm) / La0.67Sr0.33MnO3(LSMO) (100 nm) and LSMO (100 nm) / LCMO (100 nm) are fabricated by a facing-target sputtering technique. Their transport and magnetic properties are investigated. It is found that the transport properties between them are different obviously due to distinguishable structures, and the different lattice strains in both films result in the difference of metal-to-insulator transition. Only single-step magnetization loop appears in our bilayers from 5K to 320K, and the coercive force of LSMO/LCMO varies irregularly with a minimum ~ 2387A/m which is lower than that of LCMO and LSMO single layer films. The behaviour is explained by some magnetic coupling.  相似文献

Measurements of susceptibility, electron paramagnetic resonance and resistivity for La2/3Ca1/3MnO3 reveal a common temperature range between ∼266 and ∼300 K, where unusual aspects of physical properties are observed. The experimental results are discussed from the Griffiths theory that predicts the formation of ferromagnetic clusters before the Curie temperature is reached. It is emphasized that this theory incorporating the double-exchange mechanism could provide a good physical basis for the understanding of unusual transport properties.  相似文献

The structural and magnetic properties of Pr0.75Na0.25MnO3 have been investigated experimentally. At room temperature, the compound shows paramagnetic characteristic. Along with decreasing temperature, a peak appears in the magnetization versus temperature curve around 220 K. To clarify whether this peak is associated with the ordering arrangement of Mn3+ and Mn4+ ions, electron diffraction experiments were carried out below and above 220 K respectively. Only basic Brag diffraction spots can be observed at high temperatures, however, superlattice diffraction appears below 220 K. This provides direct evidence for the existence of charge ordering in Pr0.75Na0.25MnO3. We find the Mn3+ and Mn4+ cations form zigzag chains in a-c plane by analyzing the diffraction patterns. Combining with the magnetization measurements and the results of electron spin resonance, we confirm the antiferromagnetic phase and ferromagnetic component coexist in Pr0.75Na0.25MnO3 below 120 K.  相似文献

Magnetic and transport properties of La0.5Ca0.5MnO3 have been investigated by measuring the magnetization and resistance in zero-field-cooled (ZFC) and field-cooled (FC) modes. Conspicuously irreversible behaviors of magnetization/resistance in the two different modes were observed below the charge ordering transition temperature (TCO). The ZFC and FC magnetizations at 5K, as functions of the magnetic field, coincide for μ0H≤1T. Afterwards, the ZFC magnetization tends to an approximate constant, but the FC one increases linearly with increasing field. There exists an excellent correspondence between magnetization and resistance below TCO. All the results suggest that the ferromagnetic clusters embed in the charge-ordered matrix. The phenomenon of ferromagnetic clusters growing up easily in the FC procedure has been interpreted according to the model of thermally activated two-level system.  相似文献
