In a hydrodynamic model, we have studied J/ψ production in Au+Au/Cu+Cu collisions at RHIC energy, GeV. At the initial time, J/ψ’s are randomly distributed in the fluid. As the fluid evolves in time, the free streaming J/ψ’s are dissolved if the local fluid temperature exceeds a threshold temperature T J/ψ . Sequential melting of charmonium states (χ c , ψ and J/ψ), with melting temperatures , T J/ψ ≈2T c and feed-down fraction F≈0.3, explains the PHENIX data on the centrality dependence of J/ψ suppression in Au+Au collisions. J/ψ p T spectra and the nuclear modification factor in Au+Au collisions are also well explained in the model. The model however overpredicts the centrality dependence of J/ψ suppression in Cu+Cu collisions by 20–30%. The J/ψ p T spectra are underpredicted by 20–30%. The model predicts that in central Pb+Pb collisions at LHC energy,  GeV, J/ψ’s are suppressed by a factor of ∼10. The model predicted a J/ψ p T distribution in Pb+Pb collisions at LHC is similar to that in Au+Au collisions at RHIC.  相似文献

Current-voltage (J-V) and differential-conductivity-voltage ( dJ/dV-V) characteristics are analytically calculated at zero temperature for a point contact consisting of: two Peierls conductors P ( = 1, 2) separated by an insulator (I). Here P is a conductor with charge density wave (CDW). The J-V and dJ/dV-V characteristics depend on the CDW phases ( = 1, 2) in the mean field approximation. To calculate them analytically we assumed, = ≡Δ where ( = 1, 2) are the energy gaps of P ( = 1, 2). The current J has a discontinuous jump at eV = 2Δ for ϕ 1 = ϕ 2≠ 0. The differential conductivity dJ/dV has a singularity at eV = 2Δ for ϕ 1 = ϕ 2≠ 0. The relation J(V 1 2) = - J(- V 1 + π,ϕ 2 + π) is obtained. J/ψ production at forward and midrapidity at the Relativistic Heavy-Ion Collider (RHIC) is calculated within a previously constructed rate-equation approach accounting for both direct production and regeneration from c and . The results are compared to the experimental data. The observed stronger suppression at forward rapidity can be qualitatively explained by a smaller statistical regeneration component together with stronger cold nuclear matter induced suppression compared to midrapidity. The χ c over J/ψ ratio and ψ′ over J/ψ ratio are also calculated.  相似文献

We perform a systematic study of the possible molecular states composed of a pair of heavy mesons such as , , in the framework of the meson exchange model. The exchanged mesons include the pseudoscalar, scalar and vector mesons. Through our investigation, we find the following results. (1) The structure X(3764) is not a molecular state. (2) There exists strong attraction in the range r<1 fm for the system with J=0,1. If future experiments confirm Z +(4051) as a loosely bound molecular state, its quantum number is probably J P =0+. Its partner state Φ **0 may be searched for in the π 0 χ c1 channel. (3) Vector meson exchange provides strong attraction in the channel together with pion exchange. A bound state solution may exist with a reasonable cutoff parameter Λ∼1.4 GeV. X(3872) may be accommodated as a molecular state dynamically although drawing a very definite conclusion needs further investigation. (4) The molecular state may exist.  相似文献

The B c J/ψ π, η c π decays are studied with the perturbative QCD approach. It is found that the form factors and for the B c J/ψ, η c transitions and the branching ratios are sensitive to the parameters ω, v, f J/ψ and , where ω and v are the parameters of the charmonium wave functions for a Coulomb potential and the harmonic-oscillator potential, respectively, and f J/ψ and are the decay constants of the J/ψ and η c mesons, respectively. The large branching ratios and the clear signals of the final states make the B c J/ψ π, η c π decays the prospective channels for measurements at the hadron colliders.  相似文献

This paper addresses the statistical mechanics of ideal polymer chains next to a hard wall. The principal quantity of interest, from which all monomer densities can be calculated, is the partition function, G N(z) , for a chain of N discrete monomers with one end fixed a distance z from the wall. It is well accepted that in the limit of infinite N , G N(z) satisfies the diffusion equation with the Dirichlet boundary condition, G N(0) = 0 , unless the wall possesses a sufficient attraction, in which case the Robin boundary condition, G N(0) = - G N (0) , applies with a positive coefficient, . Here we investigate the leading N -1/2 correction, G N(z) . Prior to the adsorption threshold, G N(z) is found to involve two distinct parts: a Gaussian correction (for z aN 1/2 with a model-dependent amplitude, A , and a proximal-layer correction (for z a described by a model-dependent function, B(z) .  相似文献

A search for the pair production of fourth generation b’-quarks was performed using data taken by the DELPHI detector at LEP-II. The analysed data were collected at centre-of-mass energies ranging from 196 to 209 GeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 420 pb-1. No evidence for a signal was found. Upper limits on BR(b’→bZ) and BR(b’→cW) were obtained for b’ masses ranging from 96 to 103 GeV/c 2. These limits, together with the theoretical branching ratios predicted by a sequential four generations model, were used to constrain the value of , where Vcb′, Vtb′ and Vtb are elements of the extended CKM matrix.  相似文献

A dynamic method for quantifying the amount and mechanism of trapping in organic field effect transistors (OFETs) is proposed. It exploits transfer characteristics acquired upon application of a triangular waveform gate sweep V G. The analysis of the transfer characteristics at the turning point V G=−V max between forward and backward gate sweeps, viz. around the maximum gate voltage V max applied, provides a differential slope Δm which depends exclusively on trapping. Upon a systematic change of V max it is possible to extract the initial threshold voltage, equivalent to one of the observables of conventional stress measurements, and assess the mechanism of trapping via the functional dependence on the current. The analysis of the differential logarithmic derivative at the turning point yields the parameters of trapping, as the exponent β and the time scale of trapping τ. In the case of an ultra-thin pentacene OFET we extract β=1 and τ=102–103 s, in agreement with an exponential distribution of traps. The analysis of the hysteresis parameter Δm is completely general and explores time scales much shorter than those involved in bias stress measurements, thus avoiding irreversible damage to the device.  相似文献

Asymptotic formulae of some expectation values related to the relativistic corrections in inverse powers of the internuclear distance R for the lsσ g electron state of hydrogen molecular ion H2+ and the lsσ molecule-like state of antiprotonic helium atom He+ are obtained with the use of the first-order perturbation function. Using these asymptotic formulae, the relativistic correction of order mα6 for these states in reciprocal powers of the internuclear distance R is derived to accuracy of (R −4). The article is published in the original.  相似文献

The amplitudes of the nonstationary Josephson current I 1, the interference current I 2, and the quasiparticle current J through symmetric and asymmetric tunnel junctions, including superconductors with charge density waves, are calculated. In the symmetric (s) case the dependence of the Josephson current I s 1 on the voltage V on the junction has a logarithmic singularity at |eV|=2Δ, Δ+D, and 2D, where , Δ and Σ are the superconducting and dielectric order parameters, and e is the unit charge. At temperatures T≠0 jumps appear in the current-voltage characteristics I s 1 (V) at |eV|=D−Δ. Jumps and singularities are observed in the currents I s 2 and J s at the same voltages at which singularities and jumps appear in I s 1 , respectively. In the nonsymmetric (ns) junctions which include an ordinary superconductor, singularities and jumps occur at |eV|=DBCS, Δ+ΔBCS, and (for T≠0) |D−ΔBCS| and |Δ−ΔBCS|, where ΔBCS is the order parameter of an ordinary superconductor. The quasiparticle current J ns is an asymmetric function of the voltage V and does not depend on the sign of Σ. The results are compared with experiment. Fiz. Tverd. We present a new approach to estimate the effect of gluon shadowing in nucleus + nucleus collisions and its consequences on the J/ψ production yield. Using kinematical information available from the measured J/ψ production in proton + proton collisions at  GeV, we build a Glauber Monte Carlo code which takes into account shadowing in two alternative ways: multiple-scattering corrections or Q 2 evolution of parton densities. We exploit the dependence of these different parameterizations to the J/ψ transverse momentum and we give the first predictions on the resulting p T dependence of the nuclear modification factor in deuteron + gold collisions at the same energy.  相似文献

We present a new ab initio approach to describe the statistical behavior of long ideal polymer chains near a plane hard wall. Forbidding the solid half-space to the polymer explicitly (by the use of Mayer functions) without any other requirement, we derive and solve an exact integral equation for the partition function G D(r,r′, N) of the ideal chain consisting of N bonds with the ends fixed at the points r and r′ . The expression for G(r,r′, s) is found to be the sum of the commonly accepted Dirichlet result G D(r,r′, N) = G 0(r,r′, N) - G 0(r,r”, N) , where r” is the mirror image of r′ , and a correction. Even though the correction is small for long chains, it provides a non-zero value of the monomer density at the very wall for finite chains, which is consistent with the pressure balance through the depletion layer (so-called wall or contact theorem). A significant correction to the density profile (of magnitude 1/is obtained away from the wall within one coil radius. Implications of the presented approach for other polymer-colloid problems are discussed.  相似文献

We discuss one of the most prominent features of the very recent preliminary elliptic flow data of J/ψ-mesons from the PHENIX Collaboration (PHENIX Collaboration (C. Silvestre), arXiv:0806.0475 [nucl-ex]). Even within the rather large error bars of the measured data a negative elliptic flow parameter (v2) for J/ψ in the range of p T = 0.5-2.5 GeV/c is visible. We argue that this negative elliptic flow at intermediate pT is a clear and qualitative signature for the collectivity of charm quarks produced in nucleus-nucleus reactions at RHIC. Within a parton recombination approach we show that a negative elliptic flow puts a lower limit on the collective transverse velocity of heavy quarks. The numerical value of the transverse flow velocity for charm quarks that is necessary to reproduce the data is (charm) ∼ 0.55-0.6c and therefore compatible with the flow of light quarks.  相似文献

We analyse the possibilities to detect a new Z boson in di-electron events at Tevatron and LHC in the framework of the 331 model with right-handed neutrinos. We also study other fermions and Higgs events as final state at LHC. Using collision data collected by the CDF II detector at Fermilab Tevatron, we find that the 331 Z boson is excluded with masses below 920 GeV. For an integrated luminosity of 100 fb−1 at LHC, and considering a central value GeV, we obtain the invariant-mass distribution in the process ppZ e + e , where a huge peak, corresponding to 800 signal events/(20 GeV), is found above the SM background. The number of di-electron events vary from 50000 to 2400 in the mass range of –2000 GeV. We also obtain branching ratios and cross sections in other fermion and Higgs channels at LHC, where a heavy top quark T exhibits the biggest ratio with m T =300 GeV.  相似文献

Lowest-lying tetra-quark hadrons in anisotropic lattice QCD   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
We present a detailed study of the lowest-lying hadrons in quenched improved anisotropic lattice QCD. Using the π π and diquark–antidiquark local and smeared operators, we attempt to isolate the signal for I(J P )=0(0+),2(0+) and 1(1+) states in two flavour QCD. In the chiral limit of the light-quark mass region, the lowest scalar 4q state is found to have a mass, m 4q I=0=927(12) MeV, which is slightly lower than the experimentally observed f 0(980). The results from our variational analysis do not indicate a signature of a tetraquark resonance in I=1 and I=2 channels. After the chiral extrapolation the lowest 1(1+) state is found to have a mass m 4q I=1=1358(28) MeV. We analysed the static 4q potential extracted from a tetraquark Wilson loop and illustrated the behaviour of the 4q state as a bound state, unbinding at some critical diquark separation. From our analysis we conclude that the scalar 4q system appears as a two-pion scattering state and that there is no spatially-localised 4q state in the light-quark mass region.  相似文献

Higgs-boson production in association with a W-boson pair at e + e linear colliders is one of the important processes in probing the coupling between the Higgs boson and vector gauge bosons and discovering the signature of new physics. We describe the impact of the complete electroweak (EW) radiative corrections of to this process in the standard model (SM) at the International Linear Collider (ILC), and investigate the dependence of the lowest-order (LO) and EW next-to-leading order (NLO) corrected cross sections on the colliding energy and the Higgs-boson mass. The LO and NLO EW corrected distributions of the invariant mass of the W-boson pair and the transverse momenta of the final W-boson and Higgs boson are presented. Our numerical results show that the relative EW radiative correction (δ ew) varies from −19.4% to 0.2% when m H=120 GeV and grows from 300 GeV to 1.2 TeV.  相似文献

Five-dimensional classical unified field theories as well as in Yang-Mills theory with gauge group U(1), are described in terms of a Lorentzian five-dimensional space V 5 with metric tensor y ;; which admits a space-like Killing vector ξα. It is assumed that: (1) V 5 has the topology of V 4×S 1, S 1 is a circle and V 4 is a four-dimensional Lorentzian space that is asymptotically flat and (2) the Einstein tensor Γαβ of V 5 satisfies , where u α and v β are future oriented time-like vectors with . The spinor approach of Witten, Nester, and Moreschi and Sparling is used to show that the conserved five-dimensional energy momentum vector P ; is nonspace-like. If P ;αβ=0 then V 5 must admit a time-like Killing vector. Lichnerowicz's results then imply that V 5 must be flat. A lower bound for P 4 (the mass) similar to that found by Gibbons and Hull is obtained.  相似文献

Cluster states up to 12 MeV in the stable light nucleus 21Ne, based on the 16O + n + α molecular configurations, have been populated in the incomplete-fusion reaction 16 8O(73Li, np)2110Ne at 29.4 MeV. The observation of both intra- and inter-band transitions leads to a re-interpretation of some levels in the Kπ = - and Kπ = - bands. The implications of this re-ordering on the octupole doublet bands are examined. The data allow a more accurate determination of some previously uncertain level energies. The “missing” Iπ = - level is also discussed.  相似文献
