The problem of the asymmetric flow around a cylinder of a nonviscous jet is considered and, in particular, of flow with one free boundary. The problem of the choice of circulation is posed, based on a generalization of the Zhukovskii-Chaplygin postulate. Several possibilities are considered and the principle of the minimum of the maximum velocity on a contour is proposed, which qualitatively and quantitatively truly reflects certain aspects of the interaction of the cylinder with the flow.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 5, pp. 50–58, September–October, 1977.  相似文献

The plane steady problem of the flow of a viscous wall jet past a smoothed break in the contour of a body is considered. For convenience, the flow in the neighborhood of the junction between two flat plates inclined at an angle to each other is chosen for study. As a result of the small extent of the region investigated the flow field is divided into two layers: the main part of the jet, which undergoes inviscid rotation, and a thin sublayer at the wall, which ensures the satisfaction of the no-slip condition. Particular interest attaches to the flow regime in which the solution in the sublayer satisfies the Prandtl boundary layer equations with a given pressure gradient. A similar problem was studied in [1–4]. The present case is distinguished by the structure of the free interaction region in a small neighborhood of the point of zero surface friction stress. By means of the method of matched asymptotic expansions, applied to the analysis of the Navier-Stokes equations, it is established that the interaction mechanism is that described in [5–7]. As a result, an integrodifferential equation describing the behavior of the surface friction stress function is obtained. A numerical solution of this equation is presented. The range of plate angles on which solutions of the equation obtained exist and, therefore, flows of this general type are realized is determined. The essential nonuniqueness of the possible solutions is established, and in particular attention is drawn to the possible existence of six permissible friction distributions.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 1, pp. 38–45, January–February, 1986.The author wishes to thank V. The propagation of an underexpanded sonic jet over a flat end face has been experimentally investigated. As distinct from previous studies, the object of investigation is not a free jet, but a jet flowing from a nozzle along a horizontal surface. The total separation of the jet from the surface and its attachment to the end wall are related to the propagation characteristics of underexpanded wall jets. The effect of the total pressure in the jet and the height of the step on the separation of the jet and its attachment to the wall and, moreover, on the principal characteristics of the flow — the pressure in the base region, the extent of the circulation zone, the jet trajectory — is examined. The associated hysteresis effects are studied.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 4, pp. 61–66, July–August, 1991.  相似文献

As is known, the collapse of vapor bubbles in a liquid can cause the intensive destruction of solid boundary surfaces. Experimental and theoretical investigations of bubble collapse have led to the conclusion that the surface of a bubble can deform and a liquid jet directed toward the solid surface can form in the process [1, 2]. In the theoretical reports [3, 4] too low jet velocities were obtained, inadequate to explain the destruction of the surface in a single impact. In [5] it was found as a result of numerical calculations that the formation of jets possessing enormous velocities is possible. It was also found that two fundamentally different schemes of jet formation are possible in the collapse of a bubble near a wall. The transition from one scheme to the other occurs upon a relatively small change in the initial shape of the bubble. In the present report we investigate the case of sufficiently small initial deformations of a bubble when the region occupied by the bubble remains simply connected during the formation of the jet; i.e., the separation of a small bubble from the bubble does not occur. In the case of the second scheme of bubble collapse near a wall the connectedness of the free boundary is disrupted and a small bubble separates off during the formation of the jet.Translated from Zhurnal Prikladnoi Mekhaniki i Tekhnicheskoi Fiziki, No. 3, pp. 94–99, May–June, 1979.  相似文献

In [1] an investigation was made of jet flow around an elastic plate. Below, in an exact nonlinear statement, a study is made of the problem of jet flow around an elastic cylindrical shell, fastened at one end and having the second end free. With certain limitations on the form of the shell, the single-valued solvability of the problem is demonstrated, and a method for its solution is proposed. Some results of calculations are given. A statement and a solution of the inverse problem of static hydroelasticity are also given.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 2, pp. 24–32, March–April, 1977.  相似文献

Air-flow around a circular cylinder placed above a free surface and liquid flow under the free surface were investigated experimentally in a wind/wave tunnel. The cylinder spanned the tunnel test-section and was oriented normal to the freestream direction. The main objective of this study was to investigate the interaction of the cylinder wake with the free surface. The flow structure was analyzed for various gap widths, H, between the cylinder and the free surface using a digital particle image velocimetry (PIV) system with a spatial resolution of 2048×2048 pixels. The Reynolds number based on the cylinder diameter was 3.3×103. For each experimental condition, 400 instantaneous velocity fields were measured and ensemble-averaged to obtain spatial distributions of the mean velocity and turbulence statistics. The results showed that the cylinder near-wake inclined upward due to the influence of the free surface elevation. Vortices were shed, even at a small gap ratio of H/D=0.25, where D is the cylinder diameter. Strong jet-like flow appeared in the gap beneath the cylinder. At a gap ratio of H/D=0.50, the jet flow exhibited a quasi-periodic vibration with a period of 2–3 s. The free surface deformation was caused by the pressure difference in the air-flow immediately above it. As the gap ratio increased, the inclination angle of the wake and the height of the free surface elevation decreased gradually. The liquid flow under the free surface followed a convective flow motion, and the range of the convection depended on the gap width between the cylinder and the free surface.  相似文献

The results of an experimental investigation of supersonic flow at the Mach number M1=3 past a transverse gas jet flowing from an orifice in the edge of a dihedral with a linear angle of 90° are presented. The Mach number of the jet was varied from 1 to 3, and the ratio of the total pressure in the jet to the free stream pressure from 90 to 760. Visualization of the flow near the faces of the dihedral revealed the existence of internal lines of flow convergence and divergence in the region of three-dimensional separated flow, which indicates the presence of complex vortex structures. The dependence of the dimensions of the separated flow zone and the characteristic pressures in it on the jet parameters is explored.Moscow. A flow pattern created by the interaction of a supersonic flow with a transverse sonic or supersonic jet injected normally to the direction of the main flow through a circular aperture in a plate is considered. The pressure rises in front of the jet owing to the retarding action of the incident flow. The boundary layer building up on the wall in front of the injection nozzle is accordingly detached. The flow pattern in the region of interaction between the jet and the external flow is illustrated in Fig. 1. The three-dimensional zone of detachment thus formed deflects the incident flow from the wall, and in front of the jet a complicated system of sharp jumps in contraction develops. A three-dimensional system of jumps also develops in the jet itself.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No, 5, pp. 193–197, September–October, 1970.  相似文献

The problem investigated relates the plane unsteady flow of a viscous incompressible fluid in a narrow channel one of whose walls is free and acted upon by a given load, while the other is rigidly fixed. The fluid enters the channel through a porous insert in the stationary wall. A model of the flow of a thin film of viscous incompressible fluid and Darcy's law for flow in a porous medium are used to find the distribution of fluid pressure and velocity in the channel and the porous insert in the two-dimensional formulation for fairly general boundary conditions in the case where the length of the porous insert exceeds the length of the free wall. In the particular case where the length of the porous insert is equal to the length of the free wall an exact stationary solution of the problem is obtained for a given value of the channel height. The stability of the equilibrium position of the free wall supported on a hydrodynamic fluid film is examined.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 1, pp. 16–24, January–February, 1986.  相似文献

An exact solution is obtained to the problem of outflow of a perfect incompressible fluid from a half-space through an opening, occupied by a permeable plate. It is shown that the flow rate Q of the fluid in the case of outflow through a permeable plate can exceed the flow rate Q0 of the fluid in the case of jet outflow through a free space.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 5, pp. 174–176, September–October, 1985.  相似文献

The impact interaction of bodies with a fluid in a flow with jet separation has been considered in [1–3], for example. This investigation was in the two-dimensional formulation. The present paper considers the three-dimensional problem of impact of a figure of revolution in a stream of an ideal incompressible fluid with separation of a jet in accordance with Kirchhoff's scheme. A boundary-value problem is formulated for the impact flow potential and solved by the Green's function method. A method for constructing the Green's function is described. Expressions are given for the coefficients of the apparent masses. The results are given of computer calculations of these coefficients in the case of a cone using the flow geometry of the corresponding two-dimensional problem.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 6, pp. 176–180, November–December, 1980.  相似文献

The deviation of a jet from the straight direction due to the presence of a lateral wall is investigated from the experimental point of view. This flow condition is known as Coanda jet (from the Romanian aerodynamicist Henry Marie Coanda who discovered and applied it at the beginning of XXth century) or offset jet. The objective of the work is to detail the underlying mechanisms of such a phenomenon aiming to use it as a flow control method at polluted river flows mouth. To do this, a large laboratory free-surface tank with an incoming channel has been set up and velocity field measurements are performed by Optical Flow methods (namely Feature Tracking). Preliminary tests on the well-known free jet configuration without any marine structure (i.e. lateral wall) are performed to allow comparison with free jet scaling and self-similar solutions. The presence of the free-surface gives rise to centerline velocity decay which is lower than in free unbounded plane or circular jets due to the vertically limited ambient fluid entrainment. In the second part of the paper, the effect of a lateral wall on the jet configuration is examined by placing it at different lateral distances from the jet outlet. The resulting velocity fields clearly show an inclined Coanda jet with details which seems to depend on the lateral wall distance itself. The analysis of self-similarity along the inclined jet direction reveals that for wall distances larger than 5 jet widths this dependence almost disappears.  相似文献

The Airy jet is a wall-bounded flow belonging to the similarity class of the well known free jet but, in contrast to the latter, its far field behavior is an algebraically decaying rotational flow. The present paper investigates the thermal characteristics of the Airy jet over a wall with prescribed constant heat flux. The scaling behavior found for small and large values of the Prandtl number is compared to those obtained earlier for (a) the case of a wall with prescribed constant temperature and for (b) the case of a preheated Airy jet adjacent to an insulated wall.  相似文献

We consider the flow formed by the interaction of a supersonic flow and a transverse sonic or supersonic jet blown at right angles to the direction of the main flow through a nozzle whose exit section is in a flat wall. When a gas jet is blown through a circular opening [1] the pressure rises in front of the jet because of the stagnation of the oncoming flow. This leads to separation of the boundary layer formed on the wall in front of the blowing nozzle. The resulting three-dimensional separation zone leads to a sharp increase in the pressure and the heat fluxes to the wall in front of the blowing nozzle, which is undesirable in many modern applications. The aim of the present investigation was to find a shape of the exit section of the blowing nozzle for which there is no three-dimensional separation zone of the boundary layer in front of the blowing nozzle.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 3, pp. 162–165, May–June, 1979.  相似文献

The problem of an axisymmetric turbulent electrohydrodynamic jet exhausting from a nozzle into an interelectrode gap is formulated. A numerical method of integrating the system of equations describing this flow is developed. This method is used to investigate three-dimensional effects in the jet (expansion of the jet, reverse flows). The influence on the jet characteristics (currents of the charge carried out of the nozzle, jet diameter, etc.) of the geometrical and electrical parameters and also of purely hydrodynamic factors (level of turbulence, relative velocity of parallel flow, etc.) is investigated.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 5, pp. 144–149, September–October, 1980.  相似文献

The flow of a two-dimensional underexpanded wall jet flowing out of a sonic nozzle along a channel wall has been experimentally investigated. The dependence of the dimension of the first barrel of the jet on the underexpansion is obtained. It is shown that the flow of the jet in the channel is associated with a significant axial pressure gradient on the initial interval of the induced cocurrent flow and that this leads to a substantial change in the geometric dimensions of the jet.Translated from Izvestiya Rossiiskoi Akademii Nauk, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 1, pp. 196–199, January–February, 1993.  相似文献

A numerical method is proposed for calculating stationary planar jet flows with unequal total heads in different jets in the case when the medium is ideal and compressible and the flow is subsonic, adiabatic, and irrotational in each individual jet. Features of the method are considered in the example of the calculation of the interaction of two free jets flowing along the sides of a wedge. The line separating the jets is the line of a shear discontinuity. The results of the calculations are given.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 3, pp. 140–143, May–June, 1981.I thank V. P. A surface buoyant jet formed as a vertically ascending buoyant plume spreads radially after contact with a free water surface is considered. In the case of a plume spreading in a water medium beneath the water-air interface the presence of three characteristic zones in the spreading jet has been experimentally shown: a zone of linear expansion of the lower jet boundary, a zone of constant jet width, and a jet compression zone. For these zones the dependence of the width and the buoyancy integrated over the vertical profile on the radial distance is established. On the basis of an integral method the fluid entrainment velocity is parametrized for each of the characteristic zones in the absence of heat transfer and wave formation on the free surface, and the dependence of the jet width, the values of the radial velocity averaged over vertical cross-sections, and the buoyancy on radial distance is found.St. Petersburg.
