Layered Li(Ni0.5Co0.5)1−yFeyO2 cathodes with 0  y  0.2 have been synthesized by firing the coprecipitated hydroxides of the transition metals and lithium hydroxide at 700 °C and characterized as cathode materials for lithium ion batteries to various cutoff charge voltages (up to 4.5 V). While the y = 0.05 sample shows an improvement in capacity, cyclability, and rate capability, those with y = 0.1 and 0.2 exhibit a decline in electrochemical performance compared to the y = 0 sample. Structural characterization of the chemically delithiated Li1−x(Ni0.5Co0.5)1−yFeyO2 samples indicates that the initial O3 structure is maintained down to a lithium content (1  x)  0.3. For (1  x) < 0.3, while a P3 type phase is formed for the y = 0 sample, an O1 type phase is formed for the y = 0.05, 0.1 and 0.2 samples. Monitoring the average oxidation state of the transition metal ions with lithium contents (1  x) reveals that the system is chemically more stable down to a lower lithium content (1  x)  0.3 compared to the Li1−xCoO2 system. The improved structural and chemical stabilities appear to lead to better cyclability to higher cutoff charge voltages compared to that found before with the LiCoO2 system.  相似文献

We present the formation of single-phase Si1−xGex (x=0.2, 0.4, 0.6, and 0.8) alloy nanocrystals dispersed in a SiO2 matrix. The studied samples were prepared by co-sputtering with excess Si1−xGex in SiO2 of approximately 33 at%. Upon heat treatment, crystallization of Si1−xGex alloys was examined by using X-ray diffraction and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy measurements. Single structure of face-centered cubic nanocrystals in a space group Fd-3m was concluded. The average nanocrystal size (from 2 nm to 10 nm) and the lattice constant a of the single-phase Si1−xGex nanocrystals were found to increase with the Ge composition parameter x. Density functional theory-generalized gradient approximation calculation showed the replacement of Ge into the Si sites and vice versa.  相似文献

We have measured the zero-field electrical resistivity in the temperature range 5–295 K and magnetoresistance in magnetic fields of up to 12 T of Gd5(Si0.1Ge0.9)4. The resistivity changes drastically at the magnetostructural first-order transition (TC≅80 K on heating). This transition can be induced reversibly by the application of an external magnetic field above TC, producing a concomitant giant magnetoresistance (GMR) effect, Δρ/ρ≅−50%. This study demonstrates that (in addition to giant magnetocaloric and magnetoelastic effects) GMR can be tuned between ∼20 and ∼290 K in Gd5(SixGe1−x)4 with x⩽0.5 by simply adjusting the Si : Ge ratio.  相似文献

In the present paper, the effects of nitridation on the quality of GaN epitaxial films grown on Si(1 1 1) substrates by metal–organic chemical vapor phase deposition (MOCVD) are discussed. A series of GaN layers were grown on Si(1 1 1) under various conditions and characterized by Nomarski microscopy (NM), atomic force microscopy (AFM), high resolution X-ray diffraction (HRXRD), and room temperature (RT) photoluminescence (PL) measurements. Firstly, we optimized LT-AlN/HT-AlN/Si(1 1 1) templates and graded AlGaN intermediate layers thicknesses. In order to prevent stress relaxation, step-graded AlGaN layers were introduced along with a crack-free GaN layer of thickness exceeding 2.2 μm. Secondly, the effect of in situ substrate nitridation and the insertion of an SixNy intermediate layer on the GaN crystalline quality was investigated. Our measurements show that the nitridation position greatly influences the surface morphology and PL and XRD spectra of GaN grown atop the SixNy layer. The X-ray diffraction and PL measurements results confirmed that the single-crystalline wurtzite GaN was successfully grown in samples A (without SixNy layer) and B (with SixNy layer on Si(1 1 1)). The resulting GaN film surfaces were flat, mirror-like, and crack-free. The full-width-at-half maximum (FWHM) of the X-ray rocking curve for (0 0 0 2) diffraction from the GaN epilayer of the sample B in ω-scan was 492 arcsec. The PL spectrum at room temperature showed that the GaN epilayer had a light emission at a wavelength of 365 nm with a FWHM of 6.6 nm (33.2 meV). In sample B, the insertion of a SixNy intermediate layer significantly improved the optical and structural properties. In sample C (with SixNy layer on Al0.11Ga0.89N interlayer). The in situ depositing of the, however, we did not obtain any improvements in the optical or structural properties.  相似文献

Solid state sintering has been used to prepare the cubic perovskite structured compounds BaZr1−xInxO3−δ (0.0  x  0.75). Analysis of X-ray powder diffraction (XRPD) data reveals that the unit cell parameter, a, increases linearly with an increased Indium concentration. XRPD data was also used to demonstrate the completion of sample hydration, which was reached when the materials showed a set of single-phase Bragg-peaks. Dynamic thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) data showed that approx. 89% of the total number of available oxygen vacancies can be filled in BaZr1−xInxO3−δ for x = 0.50, and that the maximum water uptake occurs below 300 °C. Rietveld analysis of the room temperature neutron powder diffraction (NPD) data confirmed the average cubic symmetry (space group Pm-3m), and an expansion of the unit cell parameter after the hydration reaction. The strong O–H stretch band, 2500–3500 cm 1, in the infrared absorbance spectrum clearly manifests the presence of protons in the hydrated material. Proton conductivity of hydrated BaZr1−xInxO3−δ, x = 0.75 was investigated during heating and cooling cycles under dry argon atmosphere. The total conductivity during the heating cycle was nearly two orders of magnitude greater than that of cooling cycle at 300 °C, whilst these values were similar at higher temperatures i.e. T > 600 °C.  相似文献

The surface topography and fractal properties of GexSb(As)40−xS50Te10 (x = 10, 20, 27 at.%) films, evaporated onto glass substrates, have been studied by atomic force microscopic imaging at different scales. The surface of the chalcogenide films is smooth (<5 nm roughness), isotropic and having some particular differences in texture. All films are self-similar with Mean Fractal Dimension in the range of 2.25–2.63. The films with GexSb40−xS50Te10 composition are more uniform in terms of surface morphology (grains structure) than those with GexAs40−xS50Te10 composition for which the film surface exhibits a superimposed structure of large particles at x = 10 and 20 at.%.  相似文献

Oxygen non-stoichiometry and electrical conductivity of the Pr2−xSrxNiOδ series with x = 0.0–0.5 were investigated in Ar/O2 (pO2 = 2.5 to 21 000 Pa) within a temperature range of 20–1000 °C. The equilibrium values of oxygen non-stoichiometry and electrical conductivity of these nickelates were determined as functions of temperature and oxygen partial pressure (pO2). The nickelates with x = 0–0.5 appear to be p-type semiconductors in the investigated temperature and pO2 ranges. The nickelates with x = 0.3–0.5 show very feebly marked pO2 dependencies of the conductivity. Pr1.7Sr0.3NiOδ shows the anomalies of the conductivity versus oxygen partial pressure which can be related to the orthorhombic–tetragonal crystal structure transformations. The conductivity of the Pr2−xSrxNiOδ samples correlates with the average oxidation state of the nickel cations. The samples with x = 0.5 have the highest nickel oxidation state (≈ 2.5+), the highest [Ni3+]/[Ni2+] ratio close to 1 and show the highest conductivity (≈ 120 S/cm) in the whole pO2 and temperature ranges investigated.  相似文献

The chemical pressure control in (Sr2−xCax)FeMoO6 (0  x  2.0) with double perovskite structure has been investigated systematically. We have performed first-principles total energy and electronic structure calculations for x = 0 and x = 2.0. The increasing Ca content in (Sr2−xCax)FeMoO6 samples increases the magnetic moment close to the theoretical value due to reduction of Fe/Mo anti-site disorder. An increasing Ca content results in increasing (Fe2+ + Mo6+)/(Fe3+ + Mo5+) band overlap rather than bandwidth changes. This is explained from simple ionic size arguments and is supported by X-ray absorption near edge structure (XANES) spectra and band structure calculations.  相似文献

A multilayer structure has been proposed that demonstrates improved (0 0 1) texture for FePt-based L10 perpendicular media. Achieving a strong perpendicular magnetic anisotropy requires aligning the L10 crystallographic c-axis along the film normal. The ordered L10 FePt structure is tetragonal with a c/a ratio close to 0.965. This makes discriminating between the three crystallographic variants ([1 0 0], [0 1 0], and the desired [0 0 1]) difficult. Alloying FePt with Cu to reduce the c/a ratio and using a multilayer approach to keep the magnetic layers thin results in a structure with an adjustable Mrt and a strong (0 0 1) texture (rocking curve widths around 2°). This is a remarkable improvement in texture from pure FePt multilayered films or monolithic FePt(X) films. The proposed [MgO(2 nm)/Fe50−xPt50Cux(5 nm)]×n structure limits grain size in the vertical (perpendicular) direction albeit not in the plane of the film. Carbon can be added to the FePtCu layer to reduce the grain size with minimal degradation of the (0 0 1) orientation.  相似文献

Apatite-type La10  xSi6  yAlyO27  3x/2  y/2 (x = 0–0.33; y = 0.5–1.5) exhibit predominant oxygen ionic conductivity in a wide range of oxygen partial pressures. The conductivity of silicates containing 26.50–26.75 oxygen atoms per formula unit is comparable to that of gadolinia-doped ceria at 770–870 K. The average thermal expansion coefficients are (8.7–10.8) × 10 6 K 1 at 373–1273 K. At temperatures above 1100 K, silicon oxide volatilization from the surface layers of apatite ceramics and a moderate degradation of the ionic transport with time are observed under reducing conditions, thus limiting the operation temperature of Si-containing solid electrolytes.  相似文献

The electrical conductivity of sintered samples of Ce1−xNdxO2−x / 2 (0.01  x  0.2) was investigated in air as a function of temperature between 150 and 600 °C using AC impedance spectroscopy. The individual contribution of the bulk and grain boundary conductivities has been discussed in detail. In the low temperature range (< 350 °C), the activation enthalpy for bulk conductivity exhibited a shallow minimum at 3 mol% Nd, with a value of 0.68 eV. The activation enthalpy also produced a shallow minimum at 5 mol% Nd in the high temperature range (> 350 °C), with a value of 0.56 eV. It was shown that Ce1−xNdxO2−x / 2 is an electrolyte that obeys the Meyer Neldel rule. The bulk conductivity data measured by others for the same system has also been recalculated and re-evaluated to facilitate easier comparison with our own data.  相似文献

High field ESR measurements of S=1/2 one-dimensional quantum antiferromagnetic (AF) system BaCu2(Si1−xGex)2O7 have been performed using powder samples and pulsed magnetic field. High field electron paramagnetic resonance at 352 GHz and 86 K enabled us to determine the x dependence of g-values even when we used the powder samples. The x dependence will be discussed in connection with the crystal field. Moreover, antiferromagnetic resonances of x=0 and x=1 samples below TN were observed and their frequency–field relations suggest the existence of Dzyaloshinsky–Moriya interaction.  相似文献

Epitaxial thin films of Sr2FeMoO6 (SFMO) were prepared by pulsed laser deposition on SrTiO3(1 0 0) substrate. Thin films have been grown under different gas environments and they were structurally characterised by XRD. In contrast to previous reports, deposition carried out in the presence of a small amount of O2 with Ar yields high-quality SFMO films with a saturation magnetic moment of 3.8 μB. These SFMO films were strained in such a way that they were elongated along the c-axis and compressed in the ab-axes directions. The large low-field magnetoresistance seen in these films has been attributed to the tunneling across the antisite boundaries.  相似文献

We report here on a detailed atomistic stress analysis of the near-surface stresses on the 2 × 1 surface reconstruction on Si(0 0 1). We present a theoretical study of the metallization of Ge(0 0 1)-p(2 × 1) surface which is observed in experimental data. We have considered the connection between thermal fluctuation of this surface structure and its metallic properties. To this end we have performed long-time MD-DFT simulations. The obtained results show that thermal fluctuation of the Ge(0 0 1)-p(2 × 1) structure may cause its metallization which in not necessary connected with a flip-flop motion of dimer atoms. It was shown that the metallization of the Ge(0 0 1)-p(2 × 1) surface takes place when the dimer buckling angle is reduced to around 11°. In the case of our simulations the considered surface system remained in the metallic state for 25% of the simulation time. We have also found that the metallic state of the fluctuating Ge(0 0 1)-p(2 × 1) surface is built up by dangling bonds of the dimer atoms shifted up (Dup) and down (Ddown).  相似文献

Single crystals of hexagonal HfFe6Ge6-type HoMn6Sn6−xGax compounds (0.14⩽x⩽1.89) have been obtained by a flux method and studied by magnetisation measurements. All the compounds order ferrimagnetically (308⩽Tc⩽386 K) with moments lying in the (0 0 1) plane and undergo a moment reorientation transition at lower temperatures (156⩽TSR⩽195 K). At 5 K, the moments are aligned along an intermediate direction (44⩽φc⩽50°). These results are discussed and compared with the neutron diffraction results related to the isotypic TmMn6Sn6−xGax and TbMn6Sn6−xGax series where a change of the easy direction is observed with increasing gallium contents.  相似文献

Single crystals of the lithium-rich lithium manganese oxide spinels Li1 + xMn2  xO4 with x = 0.10 and 0.14 have been successfully synthesized in high-temperature molten chlorides at 1023 K. The single-crystal X-ray diffraction study confirmed the cubic Fd3¯m space group and the lattice parameters of a = 8.2401(9) Å for x = 0.10 and a = 8.2273(10) Å for x = 0.14 at 300 K, respectively. The crystal structures have been refined to the conventional values R = 3.7% for x = 0.10 and R = 3.1% for x = 0.14, respectively. Low-temperature single-crystal X-ray diffraction experiments revealed that these single crystal samples showed no phase transition between 100 and 300 K. The electron-density distribution images in these compounds by the single-crystal MEM analysis clearly showed strong covalent bonding features between the Mn and O atoms due to the Mn–3d and O–2p interaction.  相似文献

Annealing effects of FeSe1?xTex (0.6  x  1) single crystals have been investigated from measurements of the powder X-ray diffraction and specific heat. Through the annealing, several peaks of powder X-ray diffraction have become sharp and a clean jump of the specific-heat at the superconducting (SC) transition temperature, Tc, has been observed for x = 0.6–0.9, indicating bulk superconductivity. For annealed single-crystals of x = 0.6–0.8, the SC condensation energy, U0, and the SC gap, Δ0, at 0 K have been estimated as ~1.8 J/mol and 2.3–2.5 meV, respectively. The value of 2Δ0/kBTc is 3.9–4.5, indicating a little strong-coupling superconductivity. Both the electronic specific-heat coefficient in the normal state, γn, and the residual electronic specific-heat coefficient in the SC state, γ0, have been found to show significant x dependence. The values of γn are much larger than those estimated from the band calculation.  相似文献

The crystal chemistry and mixed conductor properties of the n = 2 member of the Ruddlesden–Popper (R–P) phases Sr3−xLaxFe2−yNiyO7−δ with 0  x  0.3 and 0  y  1.0 have been studied at high temperature. High-temperature X-ray diffraction and thermogravimetric measurements of the equilibrium pO2 (10 5  pO2  1 atm) in the temperature range 400  T  1000 °C indicate that the Sr3FeNiO7−δ phase is able to accommodate a large oxygen non-stoichiometry (δ  1.5) without structural transformations. The electrical conductivity and oxygen permeability increase with the substitution of Ni for Fe in the range 550  T  1000 °C. The electrical transport of the Sr3FeNiO7−δ phase is thermally activated and the activation energy decreases with the substitution of Ni for Fe for a given oxygen content. The increase in the oxygen permeation flux with increasing Ni content is due to an increasing oxygen non-stoichiometry and a lower activation energy for permeation.  相似文献

The cobalt-doped lanthanum–nickel oxide system, La4Ni(3−x)CoxO10±δ (0.0  x  3.0, Δx = 0.2), was investigated as possible cathode materials for intermediate-temperature solid-oxide fuel cells. X-ray diffraction shows the presence of two structural phases in the series belonging to Bmab for 0.0  x  0.2, 0.8  x  2.0 and 2.6  x  3.0 and Fmmm for 0.4  x  0.6 and 2.2  x  2.4. All compositions are oxygen-deficient (δ < 0). Electrical conductivity measurements show a systematic decrease in the conductivity as cobalt content increases from x = 0.0 to 2.0, and reverses for x > 2.0. AC impedance measurements of the x = 0.4 composition in symmetrical cells with LSGM as an electrolyte show improved electrode performance over the parent nickelate La4Ni3O9.78. Long-term thermal stability studies show the x = 0.4 composition to be more stable than the x = 3.0 phase after annealing at 1173 K in air for 1 week making this material a viable candidate for cathodes in solid oxide fuel cells.  相似文献
