Kaplansky’s zero divisor conjecture (unit conjecture, respectively) states that for a torsion-free group G and a field 𝔽, the group ring 𝔽[G] has no zero divisors (has no units with supports of size greater than 1). In this paper, we study possible zero divisors and units in 𝔽[G] whose supports have size 3. For any field 𝔽 and all torsion-free groups G, we prove that if αβ = 0 for some non-zero α,β𝔽[G] such that |supp(α)| = 3, then |supp(β)|≥10. If 𝔽 = 𝔽2 is the field with 2 elements, the latter result can be improved so that |supp(β)|≥20. This improves a result in Schweitzer [J. Group Theory, 16 (2013), no. 5, 667–693]. Concerning the unit conjecture, we prove that if αβ = 1 for some α,β𝔽[G] such that |supp(α)| = 3, then |supp(β)|≥9. The latter improves a part of a result in Dykema et al. [Exp. Math., 24 (2015), 326–338] to arbitrary fields.  相似文献

Let ( ) denote the usual th Bernoulli number. Let be a positive even integer where or . It is well known that the numerator of the reduced quotient is a product of powers of irregular primes. Let be an irregular pair with . We show that for every the congruence has a unique solution where and . The sequence defines a -adic integer which is a zero of a certain -adic zeta function originally defined by T. Kubota and H. W. Leopoldt. We show some properties of these functions and give some applications. Subsequently we give several computations of the (truncated) -adic expansion of for irregular pairs with below 1000.

To each commutative ring R we can associate a zero divisor graph whose vertices are the zero divisors of R and such that two vertices are adjacent if their product is zero. Detecting isomorphisms among zero divisor graphs can be reduced to the problem of computing the classes of R under a suitable semigroup congruence. Presently, we introduce a strategy for computing this quotient for local rings using knowledge about a generating set for the maximal ideal. As an example, we then compute Γ(R) for several classes of rings; with the results in [4 Bloomfield , N. , Wickham , C. ( 2010 ). Local rings with genus 2 zero divisor graph . Comm. Let R be a reduced ring with Q its Martindale symmetric ring of quotients, and let B be the complete Boolean algebra of all idempotents in C, where C is the extended centroid of R. It is proved that every minimal prime ideal of R must be of the form mQR for some maximal ideal m of B but the converse is in general not true. In addition, if R is centrally closed or has only finitely many minimal prime ideals, then the converse also holds. By applying the explicit expression, many properties of minimal prime ideals of reduced rings are realized more easily.  相似文献

The main theorem characterizes, in terms of bracket powers, analytic spread one ideals in local rings.
