We analyzed theK + production at projectile energies below the free nucleon-nucleon threshold in proton-nucleus collisions and studied the contribution from different reaction channels to this process. It was shown that the secondary pion-nucleon (+N+K +) channel significantly prevails over the direct (p+N+N+K +) one. The momentum and angularK + spectra were calculated in the framework of different production channels in order to propose experimental measurements which allow to distinguish the mechanisms discussed. We also studiedK + d correlations and considered the deuteron reabsorption in the nuclear medium as well as the fast deuteron background. The features ofK + p correlations related to the different production channels were analyzed as well.  相似文献

High momentum transfer electrodisintegration of polarized and unpolarized deuterium targets,d(e, ep)n is studied. We show that the importance of final state interactions FSI, occuring when a knocked out nucleon interacts with the other nucleon, depends strongly on the momentum of the spectator nucleon. In particular, these FSI occur when the essential contributions to the scattering amplitude arise from internucleon distances 1.5 fm. But the absorption of the high momentum * may produce a point like configuration, which evolves with time. In this case, the final state interactions probe the point like configuration at the early stage of its evolution. If the point like configuration is still small after propagating about 1.5 fm, the FSI are suppressed. The result is that significant color transparency effects, which can either enhance or suppress computed cross sections, are predicted to occur forQ 24GeV2. We suggest searching for color transparency phenomenon by examining ratios of experimentally measured quantities. Possible theoretical uncertainties of the calculations, including those due to the deuteron wave function and relativistic effects, are found to be small.This work was supported in part by the USA — Israel Binational Science Foundation Grant No. 9200126 and by the US Department of Energy under Contract Nos. The tensor analysing powerA zz is calculated in the reaction with polarized deuteron break-up d+pp+p + n. Peculiarities and possibilities of the experiments with different kinematical set-up are discussed from the point of view what information can be extracted about the high-momentum component of the deuteron wave function.The authors are indebted to S. The role of the nuclear structure effects, viz. the boundness of nucleons and-isobar components, in the deep inelastic scattering of leptons on the deuteron is considered. It is shown that small admixture of the-isobar configurations to the deuteron wave function may lead to significant effects in the spin structure functions of the deuteronb 1 D andg 1 D (x): up to 4% in g 1 D (x) dx and up to 10% ing 1 D (x) at smallx.One of the authors (A.U.) thanks Prof. F.C. Khanna for helpful discussions and for kind offering the information used in our calculations.  相似文献

We examine the possibility to extract information about the DN and interactions from the reaction. We utilize the notion that the open-charm mesons are first produced in the annihilation of the antiproton on one nucleon in the deuteron and subsequently rescatter on the other (the spectator) nucleon. The latter process is then exploited for investigating the DN and interactions. We study different methods for isolating the contributions from the D 0 p and D p rescattering terms.  相似文献

We construct a dynamical model to study the pion correlations in the 5 annihilation ofp¯ p at rest. For the resonant channels, the simplest Lorentz-invariant couplings have been used. It is found that, in addition to the Bose-Einstein correlations caused by the finite size of the source, the dynamical correlations from the channels with intermediate resonances are important for explaining the experimental two-pion correlation function. The reliability of two standard methods for pion interferometry is tested in our model.On leave from Institute of Nuclear Research, Academia Sinica, P.O. Box 800204, Shanghai 201800, China  相似文献

We present an alternative approach to describe deuteron production in high energy particle collisions. The phenomenological Lund-model has been used to give the number and momentum distribution of secondary nucleons produced in 300 GeV proton-proton collisions. Deuterons are assumed to be produced in a final state interaction between the nucleons inNN d reactions inside a volume of 1 F3. The results are compared to experimental data.Data became available for antideuteron production in e+e annihilation. * A Lund Monte Carlo calculation for the production of secondary nucleons in e+e collisions exist. The results from a final state interaction were too small by a factor 103. A calculation for a coalescent model which uses the overlap of the proton-neutron momentum distribution with a distribution from a Hulthen wave function is in good agreement with the data. The coalescent model works well in this case. It is because the relative momentum of the coalescent nucleons produced for 10 GeV cm energy in e+e collisions is very much smaller than the relative momentum of the nucleons produced in 300 GeV fixed target energy ofpp collisions.  相似文献

A dynamics of low-energy nuclear forces is investigated for low-energy electromagnetic and weak nuclear reactions with the deuteron in the Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model of light nuclei by example of the neutron-proton radiative capture (M1-capture) n + p → D + γ, the photomagnetic disintegration of the deuteron γ + D → n + p and weak reactions of astrophysical interest. These are the solar proton burning p + p → D + e+ + ν e, the pep-process p + e + p → D + ν e and the neutrino and antineutrino disintegration of the deuteron caused by charged ν e + D → e + p + p, + D → e+ + n + n and neutral ν e() + D → ν e() + n + p weak currents.  相似文献

The general expressions for parity violation observables in elastic scattering of polarized and/or unpolarized electrons from unpolarized deuterons are given and are numerically evaluated for the kinematics of SAMPLE, PVA4 and G0 experiments. The dominant contribution from the interference of and Z exchange as well as the smaller contributions from strangeness (s components of the nucleon, parity odd admixtures in the deuteron wave function, anapole moments and radiative corrections are included and discussed in the context of parity-violating electron scattering experiments of present interest.  相似文献

The reactions4Hep pp+X,3Hep pp+X and4Hep ddp have been investigated and the correlation function has been measured for protons and deuterons with small relative momenta. Strong positive correlation has been observed for protons related mainly to the final state interactions in1S0 state. The root mean square radius of the proton source calculated from the correlation function has been found to be equal to (1.7±0.3) fm and (2.1±0.3) fm for4He and3He respectively. It agrees with the known radii of these nuclei.We would like to thank Dr R. Lednicky for discussion, helpful suggestions and for making available the computer program that calculates the theoreticalpp correlation function. The authors also thank Dr D.H. Boal for providing the results of the two-deuteron correlation function calculations.  相似文献

We present a study of correlations between D and mesons produced in 500 GeV/cπ-nucleon interactions, based on data from experiment E791 at Fermilab. We have fully reconstructed 791 ± 44 charm meson pairs to study correlations between the transverse and longitudinal momenta of the two D mesons and the relative production rates for different types of D meson pairs. We see slight correlations between the longitudinal momenta of the D and the , and significant correlations between the azimuthal angle of the D and the . The experimental distributions are compared to a next-to-leading-order QCD calculation and to predictions of the PYTHIA/JETSET Monte Carlo event generator. We observe less correlation between transverse momenta and different correlations between longitudinal momenta than these models predict for the default values of the model parameters. Better agreement between data and theory might be achieved by tuning the model parameters or by adding higher order perturbative terms, thus contributing to a better understanding of charm production.The relative production rates for the four sets of charm pairs, as calculated in the PYTHIA/JETSET event generator with the default parameters, agree with data as far as the relative ordering, but predict too many pairs and too few pairs.  相似文献

The reaction has been studied in a kinematically complete experiment at a single beam momentum GeV/c (T = 759MeV). All four ejectiles have been detected in the large-acceptance time-of-flight spectrometer COSY-TOF. We analyzed the data along the lines of the spectator model as a means to isolate the quasi-free reaction. The spectator proton was identified by its momentum and flight direction thus yielding access to the associated Fermi motion of the bound neutron. A comparison is carried out with Monte Carlo simulations based on two different parameterizations of the deuteron wave function. Up to a Fermi momentum of roughly 150MeV/c no significant deviations between experimental and simulated data of various observables were found from which we conclude that the deuteron can indeed be taken as a valid substitute for the neutron.  相似文献

The Keplerian velocity as well as those frequencies at which instability against gravitational radiation-reaction sets in are calculated for rotating neutron star models of gravitational mass 1.5M . The investigation is based on four different, realistic neutron star matter equations of state. Our results indicate that the gravitational radiation instability sets in wellbelow (i.e., 63–71% of) the Keplerian frequency, and thatyoung neutron stars are limited to rotational periods greater than about 1 ms. In young and therefore hot (T1010 K) neutron stars them=5(±1) modes and in old stars after being spun up and reheated by mass accretion, them=4 and/orm=3 modes may set the limit on stable rotation.Dedicated to Prof. Dr. H.J. The differential cross section and deuteron analysing powers of the p → {pp}n charge-exchange reaction have been measured with the ANKE spectrometer at the COSY storage ring. Using a deuteron beam of energy 1170MeV, data were obtained for small momentum transfers to a {pp} system with low excitation energy. A good quantitative understanding of all the measured observables is provided by the impulse approximation using known neutron-proton amplitudes. The proof of principle achieved here for the method suggests that measurements at higher energies will provide useful information in regions where the existing np database is far less reliable.  相似文献

Two different 6-quark resonating group models of the deuteron are investigated to study the off-shell property of theN-N interaction. In the first model the quarks interact by a central one-gluon-exchange potential plus confinement potential. The meson-exchange contribution to then-p potential is simulated by a central GaussianN-N potential. In the second model the quarks interact by one-gluon-and one-pion-exchange potentials (central and noncentral) plus confinement potential. A small additional -exchange potential between neutron and proton binds the deuteron at the correct energy.Several off-shell variants of the two resonating group models are compared with each other by analyzing their elastic electron scattering cross sections. It is found that the standard renormalized version of the resonating group model yields potentials and wave functions that may be considered physical within the limitations of the model. Unitary off-shell transformations, which modify potentials and wave functions in any sizeable way, lead to a disagreement between the charge distribution predicted by the model via analysis of electron scattering and the charge distribution following from the microscopic quark distribution.Both of the 6-quark models support a soft repulsive core of the tripletn-p potential with a core height of around 900 MeV.  相似文献

The influence of final-state NN and πN rescattering in incoherent pion photoproduction on the deuteron has been investigated. For the elementary photoproduction operator an effective Lagrangian model is used which describes well the elementary reaction. The interactions in the final two-body subsystems are taken in separable form. While NN rescattering shows quite a significant effect, particularly strong for neutral pion production, πN rescattering is almost negligible. Inclusion of such effects leads to an improved and quite satisfactory agreement with experiment. Measurements of the cross sectiond 2 σ/dΩ dE′ for the inelastic electron-deuteron scattering processe+de+n+p have been used to determine the electromagnetic structure of the neutron. The effects on the theoretical cross section of the structure of the deuteron and of interactions between the outgoing nucleons are examined in detail. We start with the relativistic invariant expressions of the one-nucleon exchange diagram including deuteron structure to obtain the interaction Hamiltonian. For the disintegration near the quasi-elastic peak thed-n-p vertex function can be represented by nonrelativistic deuteron wave functions. The final state interaction is calculated from phenomenological nucleon-nucleon potentials. The rescattering corrections are found to lead to a decrease in the peak value of the cross section between ?6% and ?2% depending on the electron momentum transfer q2 which has been varied between 2.5f ?2 and 40f ?2. These corrections are largest for smallq 2<5f ?2. Furthermore the results show that the influence of our insufficient knowledge of the deuteron structure on the cross section is small.  相似文献

We summarize the results of a recent global analysis of proton and deuteron F2 structure function world data performed over a large range of kinematics, including recent measurements done at JLab with the CLAS detector. From these data the lowest moments (n≤10) of the unpolarized structure functions are determined with good statistics and systematics. The Q2 evolution of the extracted moments is analyzed in terms of an OPE-based twist expansion, taking into account soft-gluon effects at large x. A clean separation among the leading- and higher-twist terms is achieved. By combining proton and deuteron measurements the lowest moments of the neutron F2 structure function are determined and its leading-twist term is extracted. Particular attention is paid to nuclear effects in the deuteron, which become increasingly important for the higher moments. Our results for the non-singlet, isovector (p-n) combination of the leading-twist moments are used to test recent lattice simulations. We also determine the lowest few moments of the higher-twist contributions, and find these to be approximately isospin independent, suggesting the possible dominance of ud correlations over uu and dd in the nucleon.  相似文献

The fitted single-particle state-density parametersg, determined here for the germaniums are discussed together with theg-values found previously for the Se, Zr and Pd isotopic chains. A validity of the consistency condition between the precompound and compound models, which relatesg to the experimental level-density parametera viaa= 2 g/6 is demonstrated.  相似文献

Polycarbonate track detector Makrofol, sensitive to fragments withA16 was used to register products of interactions of 6.3 GeV deuterons with Th, Bi, Au, and Ag. Cross sections for the production of events with one, two and three fragments have been determined and their variation as a function of theZ 2/A of the target analyzed. Possible mechanisms were proposed and discussed. Geometric characteristics of binary events were used in order to identify those binary events which resulted from the process of fission. The results were compared with corresponding proton data.We are grateful to Profs. A. M. Baldin and I. N. Semenyuskin for the exposure of the detectors and for measurement of the flux. We are also thankful to the technical staff of our Laboratory for accurate measurements.  相似文献
