The classical Lie approach and the method of additional generating conditions are applied to constructing multiparameter families of exact solutions of the generalized Fisher equation, which is a simplification of the known coupled reaction–diffusion system describing spatial segregation of interacting species. The exact solutions are applied to solving nonlinear boundary-value problems with zero Neumann conditions. A comparison of the analytic results and the corresponding numerical calculations shows the importance of the exact solutions obtained for the solution of the generalized Fisher equation.  相似文献

We study optimal control problems for semilinear elliptic equations subject to control and state inequality constraints. Both boundary control and distributed control problems are considered with boundary conditions of Dirichlet or Neumann type. By introducing suitable discretization schemes, the control problem is transcribed into a nonlinear programming problem. Necessary conditions of optimality are discussed both for the continuous and the discretized control problem. It is shown that the recently developed interior point method LOQO of [35] is capable of solving these problems even for high discretizations. Four numerical examples with Dirichlet and Neumann boundary conditions are provided that illustrate the performance of the algorithm for different types of controls including bang–bang controls.  相似文献

This paper provides exact solutions to the stationary probability distributions in some stochastic predation systems. These are derived by solving the Fokker-Planck equations for:

(i) a generalized stochastic Lotka-Volterra predator-prey system, and

(ii) a generalised stochastic Lotka-Volterra food chain.

In all these systems the growth dynamics of all levels of species are subject to stochastic shocks. Since stationary probability distributions provide the most comprehensive characterization of a stochastic system in a steady state, system stability can be analysed accordingly  相似文献

This paper is devoted to the study of the existence and comparison results for nonlinear difference φ-Laplacian problems with mixed, Dirichlet, Neumann, and periodic boundary value conditions. We deduce existence of extremal solutions of periodic and Neumann boundary value problems lying between a pair of lower and upper solutions given in reverse order. We prove the optimality of some assumptions in φ.  相似文献

Second-order inhomogeneous linear Dirichlet and Neumann problems in divergent form on a simply-connected to-dimensional domain with Lipschitz-continious boundary of finite length are considered. Conjugate problems, that is, a pair of one Dirichlet and one Neumann problem the minima of energies of which add to a known constant, are introduced. From the conceppt of conjugate problems, two-sided bounds for the energy of the exact solution of any given Dirichlet or Neumann problem are constructed. These two-sided bounds for the energy at the exact solution are in turn used to obtain easily calculable a posteriori error bounds for the norm of the difference of the approximate and exact solutions of the given problem  相似文献

Second-order quasi-linear Dirichlet and Neumann problems in four-term divergent form on a simply connected domain with a Lipschitz-continuous boundary of finite length are considered. Derivatives and primitives of distributions on the boundary are defined in such a way that for sufficiently smooth boundary distributions, these derivatives and primitives coincide with derivatives and primitives with respect to arc length on the boundary. Using these concepts, conjugate problems, that is, a pair of one Dirichlet and one Neumann problem, the minima of the energies of which add to zero, are introduced. From the concept of conjugate problems, two-sided bounds for the energy of the exact solution of any given Dirichlet or Neumann problem are constructed. These two-sided bounds for the energy at the exact solution are in turn used to obtain a posteriori error bounds for the norm of the difference of the approximate and exact solutions of the problem. These a posteriori bounds consist of a constant times the sum of the energies of the approximate solutions of the conjugate Dirichlet and Neumann problems and are easily constructed numerically.  相似文献

In this paper, we establish exact solutions for (2 + 1)-dimensional nonlinear evolution equations. The sine-cosine method is used to construct exact periodic and soliton solutions of (2 + 1)-dimensional nonlinear evolution equations. Many new families of exact traveling wave solutions of the (2 + 1)-dimensional Boussinesq, breaking soliton and BKP equations are successfully obtained. These solutions may be important of significance for the explanation of some practical physical problems. It is shown that the sine-cosine method provides a powerful mathematical tool for solving a great many nonlinear partial differential equations in mathematical physics.  相似文献

Instead of finding a small parameter for solving nonlinear problems through perturbation method, a new analytical method called He's variational iteration method (VIM) is introduced to be applied to solve nonlinear Jaulent–Miodek, coupled KdV and coupled MKdV equations in this article. In this method, general Lagrange multipliers are introduced to construct correction functionals for the problems. The multipliers can be identified optimally via the variational theory. The results are compared with exact solutions.  相似文献

In this paper, the first integral method combined with Liu's theorem is applied to integrate a new coupled nonlinear Schrodinger type equation. Using this combination, more new exact traveling wave solutions are obtained for the considered equation using ideas from the theory of commutative algebra. In addition, more solutions are also obtained via the application of semi-inverse variational principle due to Ji-Huan He. The used approaches with the help of symbolic computations via Mathematica 9, may provide a straightforward effective and powerful mathematical tools for solving nonlinear partial differential equations in mathematical physics.  相似文献

In this paper, the problem of single-well, double-well and double-hump Van der Pol–Duffing oscillator is studied. Governing equation is solved analytically using a new kind of analytic technique for nonlinear problems namely the “Homotopy Analysis Method” (HAM), for the first time. Present solution gives an expression which can be used in wide range of time for all domain of response. Comparisons of the obtained solutions with numerical results show that this method is effective and convenient for solving this problem. This method is a capable tool for solving this kind of nonlinear problems.  相似文献

In this paper, we describe a new method for solving the state identification problem associated with a set of ordinary nonlinear differential equations. It is proved that the method has quadratic convergence. We present the results of numerical experiments carried out on two classical models: the Lotka-Volterra system and the chaotic Lorenz model.  相似文献

We propose an exponential function rational expansion method for solving exact traveling wave solutions to nonlinear differential-difference equations system. By this method, we obtain some exact traveling wave solutions to the relativistic Toda lattice equations system and discuss the significance of these solutions. Finally, we give an open problem.  相似文献

An alternative method of deriving accurate and simple analytical approximate solutions to a structural dynamical system governed by a pair of strong irrational restoring forces is presented. This system can be used to represent mathematical models in various engineering problems. Prior to solving the problem, a rational approximation of the nonlinear restoring force function is applied to achieve a convergent truncation. Analytical solutions are then obtained using the combination of the harmonic balance method and Newton's method. This approach shows that lower-order analytical procedures can yield highly accurate and exact solutions that are difficult to obtain with an analytical expression.  相似文献

Q-conditional symmetries (nonclassical symmetries) for the general class of two-component reaction-diffusion systems with non-constant diffusivities are studied. Using the recently introduced notion of Q-conditional symmetries of the first type, an exhausted list of reaction-diffusion systems admitting such symmetry is derived. The results obtained for the reaction-diffusion systems are compared with those for the scalar reaction-diffusion equations. The symmetries found for reducing reaction-diffusion systems to two-dimensional dynamical systems, i.e., ODE systems, and finding exact solutions are applied. As result, multiparameter families of exact solutions in the explicit form for a nonlinear reaction-diffusion system with an arbitrary diffusivity are constructed. Finally, the application of the exact solutions for solving a biologically and physically motivated system is presented.  相似文献

In this paper we propose a numerical scheme based on finite differences for the numerical solution of nonlinear multi-point boundary-value problems over adjacent domains. In each subdomain the solution is governed by a different equation. The solutions are required to be smooth across the interface nodes. The approach is based on using finite difference approximation of the derivatives at the interface nodes. Smoothness across the interface nodes is imposed to produce an algebraic system of nonlinear equations. A modified multi-dimensional Newton’s method is proposed for solving the nonlinear system. The accuracy of the proposed scheme is validated by examples whose exact solutions are known. The proposed scheme is applied to solve for the velocity profile of fluid flow through multilayer porous media.  相似文献

In this paper a linear programming-based optimization algorithm called the Sequential Cutting Plane algorithm is presented. The main features of the algorithm are described, convergence to a Karush–Kuhn–Tucker stationary point is proved and numerical experience on some well-known test sets is showed. The algorithm is based on an earlier version for convex inequality constrained problems, but here the algorithm is extended to general continuously differentiable nonlinear programming problems containing both nonlinear inequality and equality constraints. A comparison with some existing solvers shows that the algorithm is competitive with these solvers. Thus, this new method based on solving linear programming subproblems is a good alternative method for solving nonlinear programming problems efficiently. The algorithm has been used as a subsolver in a mixed integer nonlinear programming algorithm where the linear problems provide lower bounds on the optimal solutions of the nonlinear programming subproblems in the branch and bound tree for convex, inequality constrained problems.  相似文献

In this article we investigate averaging properties of fully nonlinear PDEs in bounded domains with oscillatory Neumann boundary data. The oscillation is periodic and is present both in the operator and in the Neumann data. Our main result states that, when the domain does not have flat boundary parts and when the homogenized operator is rotation invariant, the solutions uniformly converge to the homogenized solution solving a Neumann boundary problem. Furthermore we show that the homogenized Neumann data is continuous with respect to the normal direction of the boundary. Our result is the nonlinear version of the classical result in [3] for divergence-form operators with co-normal boundary data. The main ingredients in our analysis are the estimate on the oscillation on the solutions in half-spaces (Theorem 3.1), and the estimate on the mode of convergence of the solutions as the normal of the half-space varies over irrational directions (Theorem 4.1).  相似文献

This paper is concerned with three 3-species time-delayed Lotka-Volterra reaction-diffusion systems and their corresponding ordinary differential systems without diffusion. The time delays may be discrete or continuous, and the boundary conditions for the reaction-diffusion systems are of Neumann type. The goal of the paper is to obtain some simple and easily verifiable conditions for the existence and global asymptotic stability of a positive steady-state solution for each of the three model problems. These conditions involve only the reaction rate constants and are independent of the diffusion effect and time delays. The result of global asymptotic stability implies that each of the three model systems coexists, is permanent, and the trivial and all semitrivial solutions are unstable. Our approach to the problem is based on the method of upper and lower solutions for a more general reaction-diffusion system which gives a common framework for the 3-species model problems. Some global stability results for the 2-species competition and prey-predator reaction-diffusion systems are included in the discussion.  相似文献

In this paper, we derived the shifted Jacobi operational matrix (JOM) of fractional derivatives which is applied together with spectral tau method for numerical solution of general linear multi-term fractional differential equations (FDEs). A new approach implementing shifted Jacobi operational matrix in combination with the shifted Jacobi collocation technique is introduced for the numerical solution of nonlinear multi-term FDEs. The main characteristic behind this approach is that it reduces such problems to those of solving a system of algebraic equations which greatly simplifying the problem. The proposed methods are applied for solving linear and nonlinear multi-term FDEs subject to initial or boundary conditions, and the exact solutions are obtained for some tested problems. Special attention is given to the comparison of the numerical results obtained by the new algorithm with those found by other known methods.  相似文献
