Protein-coated beta-ferric hydrous oxide particles. An electrokinetic and electrooptic study

Using microelectrophoresis and electric light scattering techniques, we investigated the adsorption characteristics, surface coverage and surface electric parameters of superstructures from two isoforms of plastocyanin, PCa and PCb, in an oxidized state adsorbed on beta-ferric hydrous oxide particles. The surface electric charge and electric dipole moments of the composite particles and the thickness of the protein adsorption layer are determined in a wide pH range, at different ionic strengths and concentration ratios of PC to beta-FeOOH. The adsorption of the two proteins was found to shift the particles' isoelectric point and to alter the total electric charge and the electric dipole moments of the oxide particles to different extent. A "reversal" in the direction of the permanent dipole moment is observed at lower pH for PCb- than for PCa-coated oxide particles. Strict correlation is found between the changes in the electrokinetic charge of the composite particles and the variation in their "permanent" dipole moments. Data suggest that the adsorption of the proteins is driven by electrostatic and/or hydrophobic interactions with the oxide surfaces dependent on pH. The adsorption behaviour is consistent with the involvement of the "eastern" and "northern" patches of the plastocyanin molecules in their adsorption on the oxide surfaces that are differently charged depending on pH.

以5-雄烯二醇为原料,用微生物转化的方法合成了两个重要的神经甾体5-雄烯-3β, 7α, 17β-三醇和5-雄烯-3β, 7β, 17β-三醇。所用菌种总枝毛霉为我们自己筛选,并首次应用于5-雄烯-3β, 7α, 17β-三醇和5-雄烯-3β, 7β, 17β-三醇的合成中。     

Specific adsorption of halogen anions on hydrous γ-Al2O3

The paper reports results of a study on the specific adsorption of F⁻, Cl⁻, Br⁻, I⁻, ClO₃⁻, BrO₃⁻, IO₃⁻ and IO₄⁻ on hydrous γ-Al₂O₃. The isotherms of the anion adsorption and the adsorption dependencies on pH and the ionic strength of the solution have been determined under the equilibrium conditions. According to the degree of affinity to γ-Al₂O₃, the anions can be ordered as: I⁻3⁻−−3⁻3⁻4⁻−. It has been established that the sorption of IO₄⁻ and F⁻ involves the formation of surface complexes in the inner co-ordination sphere, whereas that of Cl⁻, Br⁻, I⁻, ClO₃⁻, BrO₃⁻ and IO₃⁻ takes place through formation of ion pair complexes in the outer co-ordination sphere. In the dynamic system, the exchange isoplanes and elution curves have been determined for selected anions on columns filled with Al₂O₃. It has been shown that γ-Al₂O₃ can be used for isolation and concentration of IO₃⁻ from natural waters in order to decrease the limit of the ions determination to 2 μg l⁻¹. Using differential pulse voltammetry (DPV), after isolation and concentration on γ-Al₂O₃, the content of iodates has been determined in mineral, marine and tap water doped with these ions.     

Methoxycarbonylation of propylene oxide: A new way to β-hydroxybutyrate

The methoxycarbonylation of propylene oxide (PO) to methyl β-hydroxybutyrate (MHB) catalyzed by dicobaltoctacarbonyl ([Co₂(CO)₈]) and 3-hydroxypyridine (3-OH-Py) in methanol system has been studied. The effects of different additives, the molar ratio of 3-OH-Py:Co₂(CO)₈, temperature, carbon monoxide (CO) pressure, reaction time on the conversion and selectivity have been investigated. The conversion of propylene oxide is 80.4%, and the yield of methyl β-hydroxybutyrate is 74.9% with selectivity 93.2% when the reaction is carried out for 16 h at 80 °C and 6.0 MPa of CO in methanol, with 0.125 mmol of Co₂(CO)₈, 0.25 mmol of 3-OH-Py. The mechanism of this catalytic reaction has also been proposed.     

Synthesis of γγγ-trifluorocarbonyl compounds

γγγ-Trifluorocarbonyl compounds are easily obtained in a good yield by introduction of the 1,1,1-trifluoroethyl moiety (CF₃-CH₂-) on the -methylene group of a ketone.     

Facile Preparation of Homoallyl β′，γ′—Unsaturated Amines via 1,2—Addition of α，β—Unsaturated Imines with Allylsamarium Bromide

A series of homoallyl β′，γ′-unsaturated amines were synthe sized via 1,2-addition of α，β-unsaturated imines with allylsamarium bromide in excellent yields under mild and neutral conditions.     

Wetting of β-casein layers adsorbed at the solid–aqueous interface

The wetting by water of the adsorbed layer of β-casein on hydrophobised silica and pure (hydrophilic) silica surface was investigated by dynamic contact angle measurements based on the Wilhelmy plate principle. The results are discussed in relation to adsorption data obtained for the protein on similar surfaces by in situ ellipsometry. β-casein adsorption on a hydrophobic surface leads to a significant decrease of the contact angle, in particular in terms of the receding contact angle, which decreased by about 70°. This indicates a strong shielding of the hydrophobic surface by the hydrophilic domain of β-casein. Adding a specific enzyme, endoproteinase Asp-N, which previously has been proposed to remove a large fraction of the hydrophilic segments, results in a significantly decreased wettability of the solid surface. The layer is now more hydrophobic and the hysterises is much smaller. The receding contact angle after the proteolysis is roughly 70°. The results are consistent with the hypothesis that β-casein adsorbs at the hydrophobic surface to form a monolayer with the hydrophobic part of the protein anchored at the surface, leaving the hydrophilic segments dangling into the solution. Less dramatic effects are observed in terms of changes of the wettability on the hydrophilic surface. The surface is still quite hydrophilic both after adsorbing β-casein and exposing the layer to endoproteinase Asp-N. These results confirm the differences in the structure of β-casein layers on the hydrophobic and hydrophilic surface.     

Catalytic Hydrogenation of α,β-Epoxyketones to β-Hydroxyketones with Two Sulfinyl Analogues of Coenzyme NADH Models

An efficient method for the selective hydrogenation of a series of α,β-epoxyketones to β-hydroxyketones using catalytic amount of two sulfinyl analogues of NAD^＋ model compounds is reported. The lack of any diastereoselectivity for the formation of β-hydroxyketones with optically pure sulfinyl analogue of NAD^＋ model supports the radical mechanism proposed previously.     

Preparation and antibacterial activity of aromatic derivatives of β-aminopropionic and γ-aminobutyric acid

Ten aromatic derivatives of β-aminopropionic acid and γ-aminobutyric acid were prepared.Their compositions and structures were identified by elemental analysis,IR,and 1H NMR.They have been examined for their antibacterial action against Staphylococcua aurens and Escherichia coli.These compounds showed higher activity than the aromatic derivatives of ct-amino acid which were reported previously.The general conclusion to be drawn is that the distance between amino and carboxylic group in these molecules could affect their antibacterial activity.Furthermore,those compounds with p-methyl substituent in phenyl ring exhibit higher activity than the others,and all the compounds exhibit higher activity against Escherichia coli and against Staphylococcua aureus.     

SmI2－Mediated Addition Reaction of α－Halomethylsulfones to Carbonyl Compounds. A Convenient Synthesis of β－Hydroxysulfones

Due to the chemoselective dehalogenation by SmI2, the addition of a-halomethylsulfones to carbonyl compounds afforded ,β-hydroxysulfones. Those reactions with α-bromomethylsulfones gave the products in moderate to good yields. The SmI2-mediated addition of gem-dihalomethylsulfones to ketones also afforded α-halo-β-hydroxysulfones in moderate yields.     

Comparison of the retention behavior of β-blockers using immobilized artificial membrane chromatography and lysophospholipid micellar electrokinetic chromatography

We have demonstrated that significant differences exist between the retention of eight β-blockers analyzed with immobilized artificial membrane (IAM) and lysophospholipid micellar electrokinetic capillary (LMEKC) chromatographic methods. The general retention trends are maintained with highly hydrophilic compounds such as atenolol eluting first and more hydrophobic compounds such as propranolol eluting last. The retention order, however, is different and would result in major ranking differences. LMEKC demonstrates a better correlation with liposomal partitioning (R²=0.95) than does IAM chromatography (R²=0.60). LMEKC, with its higher efficiency, can allow a more specific evaluation of lipophilicity than IAM chromatography and is useful in the analysis of pharmaceutical candidates, particularly for ranking purposes.     

A New Synthetic Method of Highly Substituted Cyclopentadienes from α,β-Unsaturated Alkynones

Promoted by samarium diiodlde in THF, the α, β-unsaturated alkynones were reduced to afford intermolecular reductive cou-pling products. The multiply substituted cyclopentadienes were prepared conveniently in good yields.     

胆甾-4α-甲基-8-烯-3β，7α-二醇二乙酸酯的结构与性质研究

Lophenol, cholest-4α-methyl-7-en-3β-ol (1), obtained from Dracaena cochinchinensis (Lour.) S. C. Chen, was structurally modified. It was acetylated to protect 3β-hydroxyl group, and then oxidised by selenium dioxide in acetic acid to give cholest-4a-methyl-8-en-3β, Ta-diol diacetate (3). This compound 3 is unstable in chloroform solution or when heated and easily converted to a diene compound, cholest-4a-methyl-7,14-dien-3β-ol acetate (4). The structures of 3 and 4 were elucidated by means of IR, ^1H NMR, ^13C NMR and MS, and the absolute configuration of 3 was established by X-ray crystallography. The property of 3 was also discussed in this paper. Both 3 and 4 are new compounds and were reported for the first time.     

A Novel Approach to Synthesis of α，β－Unsaturated Ketones

A new approach to the synthesis of α，β-unsaturated ketones from 1,2,3-trimethyl benzimidazolium salt via the condensation reaction with aldehydes followed by the addition reaction of Grignard reagents with quaternary C=N bond was provided.     

Stereocontrolled Synthesis of (E)-β,γ-Unsaturated Esters via Palladium-Catalyzed Cross-Coupling of (E)-Alkenylboronic Acids with α-Bromoacetic Esters

The cross-coupling reaction of trans-alkenylboronic acids with a-bromoacetic esters was firstly studied. It was found that using Pd(OAc)2 as catalyst, a bulky electron-rich phospine, (2-dicyclohexylphospino-biphenyl) as ligand, the reaction can be readily accomplished to give specific (E)-b,g-unsaturated esters in high yields.     

Veronicafolin－β-环糊精的物化表征及Veronicafolin－羟丙基-β-环糊精包合物溶解性的增强

用氢谱、红外光谱、X-射线粉末衍射、热分析、元素分析等测试方法研究了Veronicafolin (3,5,4′-三羟基-6,7,3′-三甲氧基黄酮) 和β-环糊精 (β-CD) 的固体包合物的谱学特征。元素分析结果显示形成Veronicafolin-β-CD·20H2O包合物，其中C：39.58%, H: 5.75%，表明包合物中主客体比为1∶1。该包合类型属于A_L-型。通过紫外-可见分光光度法研究了在羟丙基-β-环糊精（HP-β-CD）的存在下Veronicafolin的相溶解度曲线，测得校正曲线为y = 24148x + 0.0075 (r=0.9999)，相溶解曲线为y=0.4738x-2.0×10^-7 (r=0.9490)，包结平衡常数Ks为4.5×10⁶mol-1。HP-β-CD提高了黄酮醇Veronicafolin的溶解度。     

Selective α-Bromination of β-Keto Esters in Reusable PEG-400 under Mild and Catalyst-free Conditions

An efficient bromination protocol for the synthesis of α-bromo-β-keto esters has been developed. In PEG-400 （poly（ethylene glycol-400））, a variety of β-keto esters were treated with NBS （N-bromosuccinimide） at room temperature to selectively afford the corresponding α-monobromination products in excellent yields. It is noteworthy that the reaction was conducted under mild, environmentally benign and catalyst-free conditions.     

Fragmentation Mechanism of Trans—α—Aryl—β—enamino Esters

Electron impact-induced fragmentation mechanism of Trans-α-Aryl-β-enamino esters were investigated using mass-analyzed ion kinetic energy (MIKE) spectrometry and high resolution accurate mass data It was found that the main characteristic fragmentations of compounds studied were:an odd electron ion M^ -EtOH was formed by losing a neutral molecule of ethanol;and the skeletal rearrangements took place;and the ring opening reaction happened after losing a carbon monoxide;and the typical McLafferty rearrangement underwent in ester group.The cycliztion reation caused by losing neutral molecule of TsNH2 due to the ortho-effects of substituted group of gromatic ring was also observed.     

无金属和未催化的Hantzsch酯还原 a, b-不饱和酮反应

本论文研究了KF-蒙脱土催化下丙二腈与α,β-不饱和酮的迈克尔加成反应,研究发现在不同的反应温度下可以得到加成和环化两种不同的产物。该方法和现有的方法相比具有产率高、反应条件温和、操作简单、试剂易得等优点。
