In this paper we generalize the comparison result of Bostan and Namah (2007) [8] to the second-order parabolic case and prove two properties of pseudo-almost periodic functions; then by using Perron’s method we prove the existence and uniqueness of time pseudo-almost periodic viscosity solutions of second-order parabolic equations under usual hypotheses.  相似文献

Let g be a complex simple Lie algebra and b a Borel subalgebra. The algebra Y of polynomial semi-invariants on the dual b? of b is a polynomial algebra on rank g generators (Grothendieck and Dieudonné (1965–1967)) [16]. The analogy with the semisimple case suggests there exists an algebraic slice to coadjoint action, that is an affine translate y+V of a vector subspace of b? such that the restriction map induces an isomorphism of Y onto the algebra R[y+V] of regular functions on y+V. This holds in type A and even extends to all biparabolic subalgebras (Joseph (2007)) [20]; but the construction fails in general even with respect to the Borel. Moreover already in type C(2) no algebraic slice exists.Very surprisingly the exception of type C(2) is itself an exception. Indeed an algebraic slice for the coadjoint action of the Borel subalgebra is constructed for all simple Lie algebras except those of types B(2m), C(n) and F(4).Outside type A, the slice obtained meets an open dense subset of regular orbits, even though the special point y of the slice is not itself regular. This explains the failure of our previous construction.  相似文献

Extending investigations of Yarahmadian and Zumbrun in the strictly parabolic case, we study time-asymptotic stability of arbitrary (possibly large) amplitude noncharacteristic boundary layers of a class of hyperbolic–parabolic systems including the Navier–Stokes equations of compressible gas, and magnetohydrodynamics with inflow or outflow boundary conditions, establishing that linear and nonlinear stability are both equivalent to an Evans function, or generalized spectral stability, condition. The latter is readily checkable numerically, and analytically verifiable in certain favorable cases; in particular, it has been shown by Costanzino, Humpherys, Nguyen, and Zumbrun to hold for sufficiently large-amplitude layers for isentropic ideal gas dynamics, with general adiabiatic index γ?1. Together with these previous results, our results thus give nonlinear stability of large-amplitude isentropic boundary layers, the first such result for compressive (“shock-type”) layers in other than the nearly-constant case. The analysis, as in the strictly parabolic case, proceeds by derivation of detailed pointwise Green function bounds, with substantial new technical difficulties associated with the more singular, hyperbolic behavior in the high-frequency/short time regime.  相似文献

A vector field E on an F-manifold (M,°,e) is an eventual identity if it is invertible and the multiplication X?Y:=X°Y°E−1 defines a new F-manifold structure on M. We give a characterization of such eventual identities, this being a problem raised by Manin (2005) [12]. We develop a duality between F-manifolds with eventual identities and we show that this duality is compatible with the local irreducible decomposition of F-manifolds and preserves the class of Riemannian F-manifolds. We find necessary and sufficient conditions on the eventual identity which ensure that the classes of harmonic Higgs bundles, DChk-structures and weak CV-structures are preserved by our duality. Examples of such structures are given in the case of a semi-simple multiplication. We use eventual identities to construct compatible pairs of metrics.  相似文献

We prove an infinite dimensional KAM theorem. As an application, we use the theorem to study the two dimensional nonlinear Schrödinger equation with periodic boundary conditions. We obtain for the equation a Whitney smooth family of small-amplitude quasi-periodic solutions corresponding to finite dimensional invariant tori of an associated infinite dimensional dynamical system.  相似文献

In this article, we improve the Strichartz estimates obtained in A. de Bouard, A. Debussche (2010) [12] for the Schrödinger equation with white noise dispersion in one dimension. This allows us to prove global well posedness when a quintic critical nonlinearity is added to the equation. We finally show that the white noise dispersion is the limit of smooth random dispersion.  相似文献

We describe explicitly the admissible families of minors for the totally nonnegative cells of real matrices, that is, the families of minors that produce nonempty cells in the cell decompositions of spaces of totally nonnegative matrices introduced by A. Postnikov. In order to do this, we relate the totally nonnegative cells to torus orbits of symplectic leaves of the Poisson varieties of complex matrices. In particular, we describe the minors that vanish on a torus orbit of symplectic leaves, we prove that such families of minors are exactly the admissible families, and we show that the nonempty totally nonnegative cells are the intersections of the torus orbits of symplectic leaves with the spaces of totally nonnegative matrices.  相似文献

Let G be a connected complex semisimple affine algebraic group, and let K be a maximal compact subgroup of G. Let X be a noncompact oriented surface. The main theorem of Florentino and Lawton (2009) [3] says that the moduli space of flat K-connections on X is a strong deformation retraction of the moduli space of flat G-connections on X. We prove the Hijazi inequality, an estimate for Dirac eigenvalues, for complete manifolds of finite volume. Under some additional assumptions on the dimension and the scalar curvature, this inequality is also valid for elements of the essential spectrum. This allows to prove the conformal version of the Hijazi inequality on conformally parabolic manifolds if the spin analog to the Yamabe invariant is positive.  相似文献

We decompose the K-theory space of a Waldhausen category in terms of its Dwyer–Kan simplicial localization. This leads to a criterion for functors to induce equivalences of K-theory spectra that generalizes and explains many of the criteria appearing in the literature. We show that under mild hypotheses, a weakly exact functor that induces an equivalence of homotopy categories induces an equivalence of K-theory spectra.  相似文献

Twisted vertex operators based on rational lattices have had many applications in vertex operator algebra theory and conformal field theory. In this paper, “relativized” twisted vertex operators are constructed in a general context based on isometries of rational lattices, and a generalized twisted Jacobi identity is established for them. This result generalizes many previous results. Relatived untwisted vertex operators had been studied in a monograph by the authors. The present paper includes as a special case the proof of the main relations among twisted vertex operators based on even lattices announced some time ago by the second author.  相似文献

This paper concerns a priori estimates and existence of solutions of generalized mean curvature equations with Dirichlet boundary value conditions in smooth domains. Using the blow-up method with the Liouville-type theorem of the p laplacian equation, we obtain a priori bounds and the estimates of interior gradient for all solutions. The existence of positive solutions is derived by the topological method. We also consider the non-existence of solutions by Pohozaev identities.  相似文献

Whether or not classical solutions of the 2D incompressible MHD equations without full dissipation and magnetic diffusion can develop finite-time singularities is a difficult issue. A major result of this paper establishes the global regularity of classical solutions for the MHD equations with mixed partial dissipation and magnetic diffusion. In addition, the global existence, conditional regularity and uniqueness of a weak solution is obtained for the 2D MHD equations with only magnetic diffusion.  相似文献

A degree 1 non-negative graded super manifold equipped with a degree 1 vector field Q satisfying [Q,Q]=1, namely a so-called NQ-1 manifold is, in plain differential geometry language, a Lie algebroid. We introduce a notion of fibration for such super manifolds, that essentially involves a complete Ehresmann connection. As it is the case for Lie algebras, such fibrations turn out not to be just locally trivial products. We also define homotopy groups and prove the expected long exact sequence associated to a fibration. In particular, Crainic and Fernandes's obstruction to the integrability of Lie algebroids is interpreted as the image of a transgression map in this long exact sequence.  相似文献

We prove the nonexistence of solutions for a prescribed mean curvature equation when p?1 and the positive parameter λ is small. The result extends theorems of Narukawa and Suzuki, and Finn, from the case of n=2,p=1 to all n?2,p?1. Moreover, our proof is very simple and the result is not limited to positive (and negative) solutions. We also show that a similar result for positive solutions is still true if |u|p−1u is replaced by the exponential nonlinearity eu−1.  相似文献
