One of the first remarkable results in the representation theory of artin algebras, due to Auslander and Ringel-Tachikawa, is the characterisation of when an artin algebra is representation-finite. In this paper, we investigate aspects of representation-finiteness in the general context of exact categories in the sense of Quillen. In this framework, we introduce “big objects” and prove an Auslander-type “splitting-big-objects” theorem. Our approach generalises and unifies the known results from the literature. As a further application of our methods, we extend the theorems of Auslander and Ringel-Tachikawa to arbitrary dimension, i.e. we characterise when a Cohen-Macaulay order over a complete regular local ring is of finite representation type.  相似文献

For representations of tame quivers the degenerations are controlled by the dimensions of various homomorphism spaces. Furthermore, there is no proper degeneration to an indecomposable. Therefore, up to common direct summands, any minimal degeneration from M to N is induced by a short exact sequence 0→UMV→0 with indecomposable ends that add up to N. We study these ‘building blocs’ of degenerations and we prove that the codimensions are bounded by two. Therefore, a quiver is Dynkin resp. Euclidean resp. wild iff the codimension of the building blocs is one resp. bounded by two resp. unbounded. We explain also that for tame quivers the complete classification of all the building blocs is a finite problem that can be solved with the help of a computer.  相似文献

In this paper, we define a notion of AS-Gorenstein algebra for N-graded algebras, and show that symmetric AS-regular algebras of Gorenstein parameter 1 are exactly preprojective algebras of quasi-Fano algebras. This result can be compared with the fact that symmetric graded Frobenius algebras of Gorenstein parameter −1 are exactly trivial extensions of finite-dimensional algebras. The results of this paper suggest that there is a strong interaction between classification problems in noncommutative algebraic geometry and those in representation theory of finite-dimensional algebras.  相似文献

Suppose k is a field. Let A and B be two finite dimensional k-algebras such that there is a stable equivalence of Morita type between A and B. In this paper, we prove that (1) if A and B are representation-finite then their Auslander algebras are stably equivalent of Morita type; (2) The n-th Hochschild homology groups of A and B are isomorphic for all n≥1. A new proof is also provided for Hochschild cohomology groups of self-injective algebras under a stable equivalence of Morita type.  相似文献

The paper is devoted to the investigation of generalized infinite Bernoulli convolutions, i.e., the distributions μξ of the following random variables: where ak are terms of a given positive convergent series; ξk are independent random variables taking values 0 and 1 with probabilities p0k and p1k correspondingly.We give (without any restriction on {an}) necessary and sufficient conditions for the topological support of ξ to be a nowhere dense set. Fractal properties of the topological support of ξ and fine fractal properties of the corresponding probability measure μξ itself are studied in details for the case where ak?rk:=ak+1+ak+2+? (i.e., rk−1?2rk) for all sufficiently large k. The family of minimal dimensional (in the sense of the Hausdorff–Besicovitch dimension) supports of μξ for the above mentioned case is also studied in details. We describe a series of sets (with additional structural properties) which play the role of minimal dimensional supports of generalized Bernoulli convolutions. We also show how a generalization of M. Cooper's dimensional results on symmetric Bernoulli convolutions can easily be derived from our results.  相似文献

We establish a lower bound for the representation dimension of all the classical Hecke algebras of types A, B and D. For all the type A algebras, and “most” of the algebras of types B and D, we also establish upper bounds. Since its introduction by Loday in 1995, with motivation from algebraic K-theory, dendriform dialgebras have been studied quite extensively with connections to several areas in Mathematics and Physics. A few more similar structures have been found recently, such as the tri-, quadri-, ennea- and octo-algebras, with increasing complexity in their constructions and properties. We consider these constructions as operads and their products and duals, in terms of generators and relations, with the goal to clarify and simplify the process of obtaining new algebra structures from known structures and from linear operators.  相似文献

In this paper, we prove that Graded Calabi Yau algebras of dimension 3 are isomorphic to path algebras of quivers with relations derived from a superpotential. We show that for a given quiver Q and a degree d, the set of good superpotentials of degree d, i.e. those that give rise to Calabi Yau algebras, is either empty or almost everything (in the measure theoretic sense). We also give some constraints on the structure of quivers that allow good superpotentials, and for the simplest quivers we give a complete list of the degrees for which good superpotentials exist.  相似文献

Let H be a Hopf algebra over a field k and let H AA, h ah.a, be an action of H on a commutative local Noetherian kalgebra (A, m). We say that this action is linearizable if there exists a minimal system x1, …, xn of generators of the maximal ideal m such that h.xi ε kx1 + …+ kxn for all h ε H and i = 1, …, n. In the paper we prove that the actions from a certain class are linearizable (see Theorem 4), and we indicate some consequences of this fact.  相似文献

Associated to any simplicial complex Δ on n vertices is a square-free monomial ideal IΔ in the polynomial ring A = k[x1, …, xn], and its quotient k[Δ] = A/IΔ known as the Stanley-Reisner ring. This note considers a simplicial complex Δ* which is in a sense a canonical Alexander dual to Δ, previously considered in [1, 5]. Using Alexander duality and a result of Hochster computing the Betti numbers dimk ToriA (k[Δ],k), it is shown (Proposition 1) that these Betti numbers are computable from the homology of links of faces in Δ*. As corollaries, we prove that IΔ has a linear resolution as A-module if and only if Δ* is Cohen-Macaulay over k, and show how to compute the Betti numbers dimk ToriA (k[Δ],k) in some cases where Δ* is wellbehaved (shellable, Cohen-Macaulay, or Buchsbaum). Some other applications of the notion of shellability are also discussed.  相似文献

The cluster-tilted algebras have been introduced by Buan, Marsh and Reiten, they are the endomorphism rings of cluster-tilting objects T in cluster categories; we call such an algebra cluster-concealed in case T is obtained from a preprojective tilting module. For example, all representation-finite cluster-tilted algebras are cluster-concealed. If C is a representation-finite cluster-tilted algebra, then the indecomposable C-modules are shown to be determined by their dimension vectors. For a general cluster-tilted algebra C, we are going to describe the dimension vectors of the indecomposable C-modules in terms of the root system of a quadratic form. The roots may have both positive and negative coordinates and we have to take absolute values.  相似文献

We show that Quillen?s small object argument works for exact categories under very mild conditions. This has immediate applications to cotorsion pairs and their relation to the existence of certain triangulated adjoint functors and model structures. In particular, the interplay of different exact structures on the category of complexes of quasi-coherent sheaves leads to a streamlined and generalized version of recent results obtained by Estrada, Gillespie, Guil Asensio, Hovey, Jørgensen, Neeman, Murfet, Prest, Trlifaj and possibly others.  相似文献

We describe the dimensions of low Hochschild cohomology spaces of exceptional periodic representation-infinite algebras of polynomial growth. As an application we obtain that an indecomposable non-standard periodic representation-infinite algebra of polynomial growth is not derived equivalent to a standard self-injective algebra.  相似文献

By introducing a twisted Hopf algebra we unify several important objects of study. Skew derivations of such an algebra are defined and the corresponding skew differential operator algebras are studied. This generalizes results in the Weyl algebra. Applying this investigation to the twisted Ringel-Hall algebra we get, in particular, a natural realization of the non-positive part of a quantized generalized Kac-Moody algebra, by identifying the canonical generators with some linear, skew differential operators. This also induces some algebras which are quantum-group like.  相似文献
