This work presents experimental results concerning an actively Q-switched intracavity frequency-doubled Nd:LuVO4/LBO green laser with an acousto-optic modulator operated at the wavelength of 0.53 μm. The green average output power of 2.8 W was obtained at a pump power of 16.3 W and a pulse repetition rate of 20 kHz, resulting in an optical conversion efficiency of 17%. When the pulse repetition rate is operated at 5 kHz, the shortest pulse width and the highest peak power at 0.53 μm were measured to be 26.5 ns and 8.43 kW, respectively.  相似文献

A diode-laser-array end-pumped acousto-optically Q-switched intracavity frequency-doubled Nd:GdVO4/KTP green laser, formed with a three-mirror folded resonator, has been demonstrated. With 15 W of pump power incident upon the Nd:GdVO4 crystal, a maximum average green output power of 3.75 W was obtained at 50 kHz of pulse repetition frequency, giving an optical conversion efficiency of 25%, whereas the effective intracavity frequency-doubling efficiency was determined to be 72%. At the incident pump power of 12.8 W, the shortest laser pulse was achieved at a pulse repetition rate of 10 kHz, the resulting pulse width, single pulse energy, and peak power were measured to be 35 ns, 108 μJ, and 3.1 kW, respectively. We report a continuous-wave (CW) coherent green radiation at 533 nm by intracavity frequency doubling generation of 1066 nm Nd:LuVO4 laser. With incident pump power of 18.2 W, output power of 4.3 W at 533 nm has been obtained using a 5 mm-long LBO crystal. The optical conversion efficiency was up to 23.6%. At the output power level of 4.3 W, the output stability is better than 3%. The beam quality M2 values were equal to 1.13 and 1.21 in X and Y directions, respectively.  相似文献

A compact diode-pumped passively Q-switched intracavity frequency-doubled Nd:GdVO4/KTP green-pulse laser was demonstrated, using Cr4+:YAG as a saturable absorber in a simple flat–flat cavity. With a 5.9 W incident pump power, a passively Q-switched green laser was obtained with an average power of 397 mW, repetition rate of 40 kHz, and pulse width of 40 ns, when the initial transmission of Cr4+:YAG was 85%. The shortest pulse width of 30 ns, the highest green peak power of 696 W and the maximum pulse energy of 21 μJ were obtained when the initial transmission of Cr4+:YAG was 70%. Under CW green operation, we obtained 440 mW output power.  相似文献

We report for the first time a efficient compact red laser at 671.5 nm generation by intracavity frequency doubling of a continuous wave laser operation of a diode direct pumped Nd:LuVO4 laser on the 4 F 3/24 I 13/2 transition at 1343 nm. An LBO crystal, cut for critical type I phase matching at room temperature is used for second harmonic generation of the laser. At an absorbed pump power of 16.2 W, as high as 4.3 W of continuous wave output power at 671.5 nm is achieved with 10-mm-long LBO. Comparative results obtained for the pump with diode laser at 808 nm, into the highly-absorbing 4 F 5/2 level, are given in order to prove the advantages of the 880 nm wavelength pumping.  相似文献

By using both an acoustooptical (AO) modulator and a Cr4+:YAG saturable absorber in the cavity, a diode-pumped doubly Q-switched Nd:GdVO4 laser, which can generate short pulses with high peak powers and symmetric temporal profiles, has been demonstrated. A peak power of 3.05 kW with a corresponding pulse width of 16 ns has been achieved at an incident pump power of 7.7 W. A reasonable analysis about the experimental results has been given by considering the ground-state absorption and excited-state absorption of a Cr4+:YAG crystal.  相似文献

Efficient and compact red laser output at 669 nm is generated by intracavity frequency doubling of a continuous-wave (CW) diode-pumped Nd:YAG laser at 1338 nm. With 16.9 W of diode pump power and the frequency-doubling crystal KTiOPO4 (KTP), a maximum output power of 582 mW in the red spectral range at 669 nm has been achieved, corresponding to an optical-to-optical conversion efficiency of 3.4%; the output power stability over 4 h is better than 3.6%. To the best of our knowledge, this is first work on intracavity frequency doubling of a diode pumped Nd:YAG laser at 669 nm.  相似文献

We report a continuous-wave (CW) yellow laser emission by sum-frequency mixing in two Nd:LuVO4 and Nd:YLF crystals. Using type-I critical phase-matching (CPM) LBO crystal, a yellow laser at 590 nm is obtained by 1066 and 1321 nm intracavity sum-frequency mixing. The maximum laser output power of 223 mW is obtained when an incident pump laser of 18.2 W is used. At the output power level of 223 mW, the output stability is better than 4.5%.  相似文献

A diode-pumped passively Q-switched mode-locked (QML) intracavity frequency-doubled Nd:GdVO4/KTP green laser with a semiconductor saturable absorber is presented. Nearly 100% modulation depth for the mode-locked green pulses can be achieved at any pump power over 1.92 W. The width of the mode-locked green pulse was estimated to be about 150 ps. The mode-locked pulse interval within the Q-switched envelope of 320 ns and the repetition rate of 97.5 kHz were obtained, at an incident pump power of 4.4 W. The repetition rate of the mode-locked green pulses inside the Q-switched envelope was 140 MHz.  相似文献

Simultaneous Q-switching and mode locking in a laser-diode end-pumped intracavity frequency-doubled Nd:YVO4/KTP green laser using a Cr4+:YAG saturable absorber with 81% initial transmission is experimentally demonstrated. At an incident pump power of 6 W, 300 mW of average green power was obtained, which is around four times higher than the cw green power obtained without the Cr4+:YAG crystal. The repetition rate of the mode-locked green pulses was 400 MHz and the individual mode-locked pulse width was measured to be 500 ps. The repetition rate of the Q-sw itched envelope of the mode-locked pulses was 15 kHz at 6 W of incident pump power. The energy of the mode-locked pulse at the peak of the Q-sw itched envelope was estimated to be 1 J and the peak power was estimated to be 2.4 kW. The measured width and the total energy of the Q-sw itched envelope of the mode-locked pulses was 47 ns and 21 J, respectively, at the maximum incident pump power. An analysis of the system by incorporating a nonlinear loss term due to the intracavity second-harmonic generation to the general recurrence relation for the mode-locked pulses under the Q-sw itched envelope at the fundamental wavelength has been presented. Using a hyperbolic secant square function to model the mode-locked pulse, the temporal shape of a single Q-sw itched pulse at the second-harmonic wavelength has been reconstructed. The theoretical calculations of the pulse parameters like pulse energy, peak power, pulse width and pulse-symmetry factor have shown fairly good agreement with the experimental results. A diode-pumped actively Q-switched Nd:GdVO4 green laser with periodically poled KTP (PPKTP) and Acoustic-optic (AO) modulator has been realized. The dependences of pulse energy, pulse width, and peak power on incident pump power are measured. At the pump power of 4.1 W and repetition rate of 10 kHZ, we can obtain a 19.2 ns pulse with pulse energy of 0.11 mJ and peak power of 5.8 kW, which are almost three times of that in the conventional KTP green laser, respectively. A rate equation model is introduced to theoretically analyze the results obtained in the experiment, in which the Gaussian spatial distribution of the intracavity photon density is taken into account. The numerical solutions of the rate equations agree with the experimental results.  相似文献

We present for the first time a Nd:YVO4 laser emitting at 1064 nm intracavity pumped by a 916 nm diode-pumped Nd:LuVO4 laser. A 809 nm laser diode is used to pump the Nd:LuVO4 crystal emitting at 916 nm, a Nd:YVO4 laser crystal was pumped at 916 nm and lased at 1064 nm. Intracavity sum-frequency mixing at 916 and 1064 nm was then realized in a LiB3O6 (LBO) crystal to reach the blue range. We obtained a continuous-wave output power of 216 mW at 492 nm under 19.6 W of incident pump power at 809 nm.  相似文献

We present the concept and practical realization of a single frequency, tuneable diode pumped Nd:YVO4/YVO4/KTP microchip laser operating at 532 nm. Theoretical analysis of the single mode operation of such a laser configuration is presented. The single frequency operation has been obtained in a birefringent filter, where an YVO4 beam displacer acts as an ideal polarizer. Experimental results are in good agreement with theoretical analysis. We have obtained stable single frequency operation, tuneable over 0.6 nm in the spectral range around 1064 nm. The laser operated with output power up to 110 mW at 53 nm. The total optical efficiency (808 nm to 532 nm) was 14%.  相似文献

A passively Q-switched and mode-locked Nd:LuVO4 laser with V:YAG at 1.34 μm was successfully demonstrated. Comparisons between c-cut and a-cut Nd:LuVO4 lasers were experimentally made. The maximum average output power of 170 mW, the highest Q-switched pulse energy of 4.5 μJ were obtained in c-cut Nd:LuVO4 laser. The duration of mode-locked pulse was estimated to be less than 540 ps with repetition rate of 110 MHz.  相似文献

A diode-pumped high-repetition-rate acousto-optically (A-O) Q-switched Nd:YVO4 laser operating at 914 nm was reported in this paper. Employing a compact linear laser cavity, at an operating repetition rate of 10 kHz, a maximum average output power of 2.2 W 914 nm laser was obtained at an incident pump power of 45.3 W, corresponding to an optical conversion efficiency of 4.9% and a slope efficiency of 8.8%. Minimum pulse width of 24 ns and maximum peak power of 8.0 kW of 914 nm laser was also achieved at an incident pump power of 40.8 W. To the best of our knowledge, this is the highest peak power of 914 nm laser at 10 kHz by far. Moreover, the highest operating repetition rate of pulsed 914 nm can even reach 100 kHz.  相似文献

We report on a high-power diode-end-pumped self-mode-locked Nd:LuVO4 laser with the pulse repetition rate up to 9.52 GHz for the first time. The large third-order nonlinearity of the Nd:LuVO4 crystal is exploited to efficiently achieve a fairly stable self-mode-locked operation without any additional components. The detailed characteristics of the compact efficient self-mode-locked laser are experimentally investigated and theoretically analyzed. With the incident pump power of 2.6 W, the average output power up to 0.54 W is generated with the pulse width of 7.9 ps at the pulse repetition rate of 9.52 GHz.  相似文献
