In this paper we study some questions related to the socle of a nondegenerate noncommutative Jordan algebra. First we show that elements of finite rank belong to the socle, and that every element in the socle is von Neumann regular and has finite spectrum. Next we show that for Jordan Banach algebras the socle coincides with the maximal von Neumann regular ideal. For a nondegenerate noncommutative Jordan algebra, the annihilator of its socle can be regarded as a radical which is, generally, larger than Jacobson radical. Moreover, a nondegenerate noncommutative Jordan algebra whose socle has zero annihilator is isomorphic to a subdirect sum of primitive algebras having nonzero socle (which were described in [4]). We show that every unital invertibility preserving linear map from a yon Neumann algebra onto a semi-simple Banach algebra is a Jordan homomorphism; this gives an affirmative answer to a problem of Kaplansky for all yon Neumann algebras. For a unital linear map Ф from a semi-simple complex Banach algebra onto another, we also show that the following statements are equivalent: (1)Ф is an homomorphism; (2) Ф is completely invertibility preserving; (3) Ф is 2-invertibility preserving. 相似文献

In this paper, we generalize the notion of the canonical extension of automorphisms of von Neumann algebras to the case of actions of locally compact quantum groups (in the sense of Kustermans and Vaes). Various expected properties will be shown to hold for this new canonical extension. In these notes we develop a link between the Kadison-Singer problem and questions about certain dynamical systems. We conjecture that whether or not a given state has a unique extension is related to certain dynamical properties of the state. We prove that if any state corresponding to a minimal idempotent point extends uniquely to the von Neumann algebra of the group, then every state extends uniquely to the von Neumann algebra of the group. We prove that if any state arising in the Kadison-Singer problem has a unique extension, then the injective envelope of a C*-crossed product algebra associated with the state necessarily contains the full von Neumann algebra of the group. We prove that this latter property holds for states arising from rare ultrafilters and δ-stable ultrafilters, independent, of the group action and also for states corresponding to non-recurrent points in the corona of the group. 相似文献

In Cho (Acta Appl. Math. 95:95–134, 2007 and Complex Anal. Oper. Theory 1:367–398, 2007), we introduced Graph von Neumann Algebras which are the (groupoid) crossed product algebras of von Neumann algebras and graph groupoids via graph-representations, which are groupoid actions. In Cho (Acta Appl. Math. 95:95–134, 2007), we showed that such crossed product algebras have the amalgamated reduced free probabilistic properties, where the reduction is totally depending on given directed graphs. Moreover, in Cho (Complex Anal. Oper. Theory 1:367–398, 2007), we characterize each amalgamated free blocks of graph von Neumann algebras: we showed that they are characterized by the well-known von Neumann algebras: Classical group crossed product algebras and (operator-valued) matricial algebras. This shows that we can provide a nicer way to investigate such groupoid crossed product algebras, since we only need to concentrate on studying graph groupoids and characterized algebras. How about the compressed subalgebras of them? i.e., how about the inner (cornered) structures of a graph von Neumann algebra? In this paper, we will provides the answer of this question. Consequently, we show that vertex-compressed subalgebras of a graph von Neumann algebra are characterized by other graph von Neumann algebras. This gives the full characterization of the vertex-compressed subalgebras of a graph von Neumann algebra, by other graph von Neumann algebras. 相似文献

In this paper for the first time we show that in the complex Hilbert space with the conjugation operator a classification of von Neumann algebras is possible. Similar classification is known for Krein spaces. Projectors (idempotents) often serve as elements of quantum logic. In operator theories projectors play the role of elements from which bounded operators are constructed. For one special case we show that for any projector from von Neumann algebra which acts in a separable Hilbert space one can always find conjugation operator J adjoined to this algebra for which the projector is self-adjoint. 相似文献

In this article, we realize the finite range ultragraph Leavitt path algebras as Steinberg algebras. This realization allows us to use the groupoid approach to obtain structural results about these algebras. Using the skew product of groupoids, we show that ultragraph Leavitt path algebras are graded von Neumann regular rings. We characterize strongly graded ultragraph Leavitt path algebras and show that every ultragraph Leavitt path algebra is semiprimitive. Moreover, we characterize irreducible representations of ultragraph Leavitt path algebras. We also show that ultragraph Leavitt path algebras can be realized as Cuntz-Pimsner rings. 相似文献
