Some oscillation and nonoscillation criteria for quasilinear differential equations of second order are obtained. These results are extensions of earlier results of Huang (J. Math. Anal. Appl. 210 (1997) 712-723) and Elbert (J. Math. Anal. Appl. 226 (1998) 207-219).  相似文献

We introduce some notions of generalized nonlinear contractive maps and prove some fixed point results for such maps. Consequently, several known fixed point results are either improved or generalized including the corresponding recent fixed point results of Ciric [L.B. Ciric, Multivalued nonlinear contraction mappings, Nonlinear Anal. 71 (2009) 2716-2723], Klim and Wardowski [D. Klim, D. Wardowski, Fixed point theorems for set-valued contractions in complete metric spaces, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 334 (2007) 132-139], Feng and Liu [Y. Feng, S. Liu, Fixed point theorems for multivalued contractive mappings and multivalued Caristi type mappings, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 317 (2006) 103-112] and Mizoguchi and Takahashi [N. Mizoguchi, W. Takahashi, Fixed point theorems for multivalued mappings on complete metric spaces, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 141 (1989) 177-188].  相似文献

The iteration scheme for families of nonexpansive mappings, essentially due to Halpern [Bull. Amer. Math. Soc. 73 (1967) 957-961], is established in a Banach space. The main theorem extends a recent result of O'Hara et al. [Nonlinear Anal. 54 (2003) 1417-1426] to a Banach space setting. For the same iteration scheme, with finitely many mappings, a complementary result to a result of Jung and Kim [Bull. Korean Math. Soc. 34 (1997) 93-102] (also Bauschke [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 202 (1996) 150-159]) is obtained by imposing other condition on the sequence of parameters. Our results also improve results in [C. R. Acad. Sci. Sér A-B Paris 284 (1977) 1357-1359; J. Math. Anal. Appl. 211 (1997) 71-83; Arch. Math. 59 (1992) 486-491] in framework of a Hilbert space.  相似文献

In this paper the concept of a contraction for multi-valued mappings in a metric space is introduced and the existence theorems for fixed points of such contractions in a complete metric space are proved. Presented results generalize and improve the recent results of Y. Feng, S. Liu [Y. Feng, S. Liu, Fixed point theorems for multi-valued contractive mappings and multi-valued Caristi type mappings, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 317 (2006) 103-112], D. Klim, D. Wardowski [D. Klim, D. Wardowski, Fixed point theorems for set-valued contractions in complete metric spaces, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 334 (2007) 132-139] and several others. The method used in the proofs of our results is new and is simpler than methods used in the corresponding papers. Two examples are given to show that our results are genuine generalization of the results of Feng and Liu and Klim and Wardowski.  相似文献

Viscosity approximation methods for a family of finite nonexpansive mappings are established in Banach spaces. The main theorems extend the main results of Moudafi [Viscosity approximation methods for fixed-points problems, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 241 (2000) 46–55] and Xu [Viscosity approximation methods for nonexpansive mappings, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 298 (2004) 279–291] to the case of finite mappings. Our results also improve and unify the corresponding results of Bauschke [The approximation of fixed points of compositions of nonexpansive mappings in Hilbert space, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 202 (1996) 150–159], Browder [Convergence of approximations to fixed points of nonexpansive mappings in Banach spaces, Archiv. Ration. Mech. Anal. 24 (1967) 82–90], Cho et al. Some oscillation criteria for a forced mixed type Emden-Fowler equation with impulses are given. When the impulses are dropped, our results extend those of Sun and Meng [Y.G. Sun, F.W. The function type extension of Ekeland's variational principle [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 47 (1974) 324-353] due to Zhong [Nonlinear Anal. 29 (1997) 1421-1431] is deductible in a simplified manner and in a larger functional context. This is also true for his (normed) coercivity result, based on Palais-Smale techniques.  相似文献

The fixed point theory of set-valued contractions which was initiated by Nadler [S.B. Nadler Jr., Multi-valued contraction mappings, Pacific J. Math. 30 (1969) 475-488] was developed in different directions by many authors, in particular, by [S. Reich, Fixed points of contractive functions, Boll. Unione Mat. Ital. 5 (1972) 26-42; N. Mizoguchi, W. Takahashi, Fixed point theorems for multivalued mappings on complete metric spaces, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 141 (1989) 177-188; Y. Feng, S. Liu, Fixed point theorems for multi-valued contractive mappings and multi-valued Caristi type mappings, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 317 (2006) 103-112]. In the present paper, the concept of contraction for set-valued maps in metric spaces is introduced and the conditions guaranteeing the existence of a fixed point for such a contraction are established. One of our results essentially generalizes the Nadler and Feng-Liu theorems and is different from the Mizoguchi-Takahashi result. The second result is different from the Reich and Mizoguchi-Takahashi results. The method used in the proofs of our results is inspired by Mizoguchi-Takahashi and Feng-Liu's ideas. Comparisons and examples are given.  相似文献

We first extend the concept of almost convex condition and establish a fixed point theorem for correspondences with convex values only on an almost convex subset for their ranges. This generalizes both results of Himmelberg [C.J. Himmelberg, Fixed points of compact multifunctions, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 38 (1972) 205–207] and the result of Jafari and Sehgal [F. Jafari, V.M. Sehgal, An extension to a theorem of Himmelberg, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 327 (2007) 298–301]. Furthermore, applying it, we have existence theorems for equilibria of noncompact abstract economies in general almost convex strategy spaces. Our theorems generalize the corresponding results of Zhou [Jianxin Zhou, On the existence of equilibrium for abstract economies, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 193 (1995) 839–858], Tan and Wu [K.-K. Tan, Z. Wu, A note on abstract economies with upper semicontinuous correspondence, Appl. Math. Lett. 11 (5) (1998) 21–22] in several ways. In particular, we answer the question raised by Zhou in the reference cited above in the affirmative with weaker hypotheses.  相似文献

In this article, we study the existence and the continuation of periodic solutions of autonomous Newtonian systems. To prove the results we apply the infinite-dimensional version of the degree for SO(2)-equivariant gradient operators defined by the third author in Nonlinear Anal. Theory Methods Appl. 23(1) (1994) 83-102 and developed in Topol. Meth. Nonlinear Anal. 9(2) (1997) 383-417. Using the results due to Rabier [Symmetries, Topological degree and a Theorem of Z.Q. Wang, J. Math. 24(3) (1994) 1087-1115] and Wang [Symmetries and calculation of the degree, Chinese Ann. Math. 10 (1989) 520-536] we show that the Leray-Schauder degree is not applicable in the proofs of our theorems, because it vanishes.  相似文献

Recently, Agarwal, Cho, Li and Huang [R.P. Agarwal, Y.J. Cho, J. Li, N.J. Huang, Stability of iterative procedures with errors approximating common fixed points for a couple of quasi-contractive mappings in q-uniformly smooth Banach spaces, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 272 (2002) 435-447] introduced the new iterative procedures with errors for approximating the common fixed point of a couple of quasi-contractive mappings and showed the stability of these iterative procedures with errors in Banach spaces. In this paper, we introduce a new concept of a couple of q-contractive-like mappings (q>1) in a Banach space and apply these iterative procedures with errors for approximating the common fixed point of the couple of q-contractive-like mappings. The results established in this paper improve, extend and unify the corresponding ones of Agarwal, Cho, Li and Huang [R.P. Agarwal, Y.J. Cho, J. Li, N.J. A new condition for mappings, called condition (C), which is more general than nonexpansiveness, was recently introduced by Suzuki [T. Suzuki, Fixed point theorems and convergence theorems for some generalized nonexpansive mappings, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 340 (2008) 1088-1095]. Following the idea of Kirk and Massa Theorem in [W.A. Kirk, S. Massa, Remarks on asymptotic and Chebyshev centers, Houston J. Math. 16 (1990) 364-375], we prove a fixed point theorem for mappings with condition (C) on a Banach space such that its asymptotic center in a bounded closed and convex subset of each bounded sequence is nonempty and compact. This covers a result obtained by Suzuki [T. Suzuki, Fixed point theorems and convergence theorems for some generalized nonexpansive mappings, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 340 (2008) 1088-1095]. We also present fixed point theorems for this class of mappings defined on weakly compact convex subsets of Banach spaces satisfying property (D). Consequently, we extend the results in [T. Suzuki, Fixed point theorems and convergence theorems for some generalized nonexpansive mappings, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 340 (2008) 1088-1095] to many other Banach spaces.  相似文献

We consider a real function which depends on the distances between a variable point and the points of a finite subset A of a linear normed space X. We show that X is an inner product space if this function attains its local minimum on a barycenter of points of A with well-chosen weights. Our result generalizes classical results about characterization of inner product spaces and answers a question of R. Durier, which was posed in his article [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 207 (1997) 220-239].  相似文献

Some common fixed point theorems due to Aamri and El Moutawakil [M. Aamri, D. El Moutawakil, Some new common fixed point theorems under strict contractive conditions, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 248 (2000) 327-332] proved for strict contractive mappings in metric spaces are extended to symmetric (semi-metric) spaces under tight conditions. Some related results are derived besides discussing illustrative examples which establish the utility of results proved in this note.  相似文献
