The variation of the convergence time, as a function of the storage capacity is studied numerically for systems ranging in size fromN=1000 toN=16,000 neurons. is found to increase likeexp[–A(c–)] as one nears the critical storage capacity c =0.142=0.002.  相似文献

We consider the mechanism of macroscopic polarization of semiconducting plates owing to the interaction of free carriers with an impurity level, in which role the level of the residual impurity of compensated semiconductors may appear. This mechanism, in combination with the diffusion-drift mechanism of polarization, results in additional dispersion of the real () and imaginary () parts of the dielectric permittivity, this being particularly significant for semiconductors of thickness smaller than the screening length Ls of free carriers. The character of the behavior of and depends on the relation between the Maxwell relation time M and the times of carrier capture: c and ejection e by an impurity center. For cetm and (/Ls) e/c1 the dispersion of and is the same as for thick plates (/Ls1). Conductance fluctuations are studied in twodimensional mesoscopic electron system with a two-hold valley degeneracy (n v =2), which corresponds to the inversion layer of Si-MOSFET formed in (1,0,0) plane. It is shown that the intervalley scattering modifies conductance fluctuations depending on the ratio, Min { c , T }/ v , where v = ( – 2)/2 and c , T , and are, respectively, system traversal time, thermal diffusion time, intervalley scattering time and total life time of electrons. Conductance fluctuations are no longer universal and vary from G univ 0.862·e 2/h to {ie223-5} at low temperatures even for isotropic systems. The conductance fluctuations increase with decreasing system size, increasing electron density and increasing intervalley scattering time. The effect of intervalley scattering is essentially the same as that of intersubband scattering as previously reported. At finite temperatures where T c , the intervalley scattering modifies the fluctuations through the change in the energy correlation range to results in the reduction of the conductance fluctuations. In Si-MOSFET formed in (1, 1, 1) plane, wheren v =6, more enhanced fluctuations are expected. Experimental studies are desired on theoretically predicted points.  相似文献

The possibly nonzero mass of and the polarizations of both the decaying lepton and the charged lepton which is produced are all taken into account. On the basis of an arbitrary (V, A) structure of the neutral weak ¯ee and LL currents (L=, M0) a study is made of the processes of production in colliding electron-positron beams of pairs of heavy leptons with subsequent decays in accordance with the schemes e+evµv) + +( anything) and e+eM0e+ve) + M0( anything). We present a method for obtaining bounds on the magnetic moment of the lepton. In order to do this, we study the radiative decayW as a function of the anomalous magnetic moment of the ,a . One can obtain bounds as good asa < 4.05×10–2, 2.25×10–2, 4.5×10–3, and 2.5×10–3 at the present Fermilab, future Fermilab, SSC, and LHC, respectively.  相似文献

In particular, the result applies if is an infinite product action ofG on a UHF algebra. It is known that the trigonometric Calogero–Sutherland model is obtained by the trigonometric limit (–1) of the elliptic Calogero–Moser model, where (1, ) is a basic period of the elliptic function. We show that for all square-integrable eigenstates and eigenvalues of the Hamiltonian of the Calogero–Sutherland model, if exp(2–1) is small enough then there exist square-integrable eigenstates and eigenvalues of the Hamiltonian of the elliptic Calogero–Moser model which converge to the ones of the Calogero–Sutherland model for the 2-particle and the coupling constant l is positive integer cases and the 3-particle and l=1 case. In other words, we justify the regular perturbation with respect to the parameter exp(2–1). With some assumptions, we show analogous results for N-particle and l is positive integer cases.  相似文献

A kinetic theory for inelastic scattering, trapping and desorption of gas molecules by surfaces is described. The theory is valid if the time scale l = 1/r introduced by the relaxation ratesr in the kinetic equations (which is of the order of the life time of vibrational states of adsorbates) is sufficiently large compared to the vibrational period 0. For sufficiently large activation energies of the adsorbates another time constant res, the residence time of adsorbed particles, can be determined from the theory. One thus may distinguish four different partly overlapping regimes defined by the time scalest I l , 0tII, l tIII and restIV. Regime I is governed by the Schrödinger equation regime II by the kinetic equations. In the region where both regimes overlap the kinetic coefficients can be expressed in terms of microscopic quantities which have been calculated previously. The relevant quantities in the other regimes are introduced and discussed from a unified point of view thus providing a link between the regimes I and IV which have been treated in detail before.  相似文献

Absorption and fluorescence spectra of 2-aminoxanthone in solutions of different types at 77–350 K were studied. The existence of three bands (1 max = 417 nm, 1 = 14 ns; 2 max = 528 nm, 2 = 13 ns; and 3 max = 565 nm, 3 = 6 ns) in fluorescence of 2-aminoxanthone solutions has been established. It was shown that the first short-wave band was determined by deactivation of singlet excitation of an aminoxanthone molecule. The band with 3 max = 565 nm (depending on the concentration) is connected with excimer-type aggregates, which are formed by aminoxanthone molecules grouped with the help of dipole molecules of solvent or by weak hydrogen bonds between aminoxanthone molecules. The emission in band 2 max = 528 nm is caused by reversible changes in the 2-aminoxanthone molecule and probably is connected with an intramolecular proton transfer.  相似文献

The effects of perpendicular magnetic fieldsH on the temperature dependence of the resistanceR(T) (T<20 K), the superconducting transition temperatureT c and the fluctuation superconductivity (T«T c ) have been investigated on high-resistance (R >1 kOhm) indium films prepared by simultaneous condensation of the metal and hydrogen onto a substrate cooled to 5 K. AtT«T c the resistance slightly decreased with rising temperature, in agreement with the weak localization and electron-electron interaction (EEI) theories. Processing of theR(T, H) curves in terms of the theories permitted the electron phase relaxation time (T) to be determined and the time so of electron spin relaxation due to spin-orbital interaction (SOI) to be estimated. In the temperature rangeTT c /k the effect of the fluctuation EEI on conductivity was investigated. The contribution of the fluctuation EEI is shown to be given by a sum of two corrections: the Cooper and the Maki-Thompson ones. In the rangeTT c /k the influence of magnetic field was investigated on the transition from two-to zerodimensional fluctuations of the order parameter resulting from temperature increase in the rangeT>T c . Increasing field was found to cause enlargement of the zero-dimensional fluctuation critical region and lowering of the fluctuation dimensionality alteration temperature, leading eventually to complete two-dimensional fluctuation suppression. The experimental dependencesT c (H) experienced, in addition to orbital effects of the magnetic field, depairing effect of the field on electron spins. Thus the so magnitude could also be estimated and proved roughly equal to so determined from the analysis ofR(T, H)  相似文献

We propose a new method for solving radiation transport problems, which permits including in analytic form for the case of normal incidence the effect of spatial finiteness of the scattering medium. The formation of the light field accompanying changes in the optical parameters and optical dimensions of the medium is analyzed.this paper, we examine the simplest case of a geometry of a scattering medium in the form of a parallelipiped with optical length x, height y, and width z. The analysis is performed for the case =1, y = z with the latter varying in the range 0.1 to . The results obtained show that the light field depends strongly on the optical dimensions of the medium. We propose a new class of cluster growth models where growth sites have a finite lifetime , which contains as special cases the Eden model ( = ) and the kinetic growth walk ( = 1). For finite but large values the growth process can be characterized by a crossover timet X; for times belowt X an Eden-type cluster is formed, while for times abovet X the growth process belongs to the universality class of the self-avoiding random walk. The crossover time increases monotonically with . We develop a scaling theory for the time evolution of the mean end-to-end distance between the seed and the last-added site, and for the average number of growth sites by which the kinetics of the growth process can be characterized. We test this scaling theory by extensive Monte Carlo simulations. We also extend our results to inhomogeneous media (percolation systems).  相似文献

A study is made of instability at frequencies close to the electron cyclotron frequency B and its multiples, subject to the presence of two different groups of electrons. It is shown that a mixture of hot and cold electrons ( ph 2 pc 2 ) in the region of frequencies s B, s2 can be unstable with respect to waves of the flute type (k z=0) with maximum increment max ( ph/pc). B, if there exists an interval of transversal velocities in whichF/ >0. When the curvature of the magnetic field is taken into account, even waves with B can be unstable in such a plasma. The effect of spatial inhomogeneity of the hot component on flute-type instability and on two-beam cyclotron instability is also examined.The author extends his thanks to A. B. We study families of quantum field theories of free bosons on a compact Riemann surface of genus g. For the case g > 0, these theories are parameterized by holomorphic line bundles of degree g – 1, and for the case g = 0 — by smooth closed Jordan curves on the complex plane. In both cases we define a notion of -function as a partition function of the theory and evaluate it explicitly. For the case g > 0 the -function is an analytic torsion, and for the case g = 0, the regularized energy of a certain natural pseudo-measure on the interior domain of a closed curve. For these cases we rigorously prove the Ward identities for the current correlation functions and determine them explicitly. For the case g > 0, these functions coincide with those obtained by using bosonization. For the case g = 0, the -function we have defined coincides with the -function introduced as a dispersionless limit of the Sato's -function for the two-dimensional Toda hierarchy. As a corollary of the Ward identities, we note some recent results on relations between conformal maps of exterior domains and -functions. For this case, we also define a Hermitian metric on the space of all contours of given area. As another corollary of the Ward identities, we prove that the introduced metric is Kähler and the logarithm of the -function is its Kähler potential.  相似文献

Thermal damage of silicon photodiodes exposed to intense optical radiation is investigated. Damage thresholds of Si photodiodes irradiated by 1.06m laser pulses are reported for values of irradiation time,, ranging from 10–8 to 1s. Threshold laser irradiation produces visible microscopic damage and a permanent degradation in photoresponse. The loss of responsivity is associated with degradation of the detector diode characteristics due to laser-induced heating. The time and wavelength dependence agree with the predictions of a thermal model which treats a semi-infinite material irradiated by a Gaussian laser beam. The energy density thresholds are independent of for short irradiation times and asymptotically approach a limiting behaviour which increases as for long times. They are given by the empirical relationE 0=65[1+217/tan–1(258)1/2] J cm–2 for 1.06m radiation. The thresholds at short irradiation times of detectors damaged by 1.06m radiation are about 25 times larger than those of detectors exposed to 0.6943m radiation. The greater susceptibility at 0.6943m is attributed to a larger optical absorption coefficient.  相似文献

We present a model of a one-dimensional extended relativistic object, whose motion is defined by the requirement that its time track in Minkowski space is a surface of the constant mean curvature H. The world surface of the relativistic string is a particular case of such surfaces, namely, a minimal surface with H=0. By differential-geometry methods the theory of the proposed object moving in three-dimensional space-time is reduced to one nonlinear equation = Hsh. In the theory under consideration, there naturally arises the pair of Lax's operators needed to solve this nonlinear equation by the inverse scattering method.  相似文献
