The formulations of extended overdetermined systems are given for hydrodynamics equations, magnetohydrodynamics equations, Maxwell equations, and elasticity equations. In this paper we derive some new equations and we call them MHD-Leray-alpha equations which are similar to the MHD equations. We put forward the concept of weak and strong solutions for the new equations. Whether the 3-dimensional MHD equations have a unique weak solution is unknown, however, there is a unique weak solution for the 3-dimensional MHD-Leray-alpha equations. The global existence of strong solution and the Gevrey class regularity for the new equations are also obtained. Furthermore, we prove that the solutions of the MHD-Leray-alpha equations converge to the solution of the MHD equations in the weak sense as the parameter ε in the new equations converges to zero.  相似文献

In this paper the far-field equations in linear elasticity for scattering from disjoint rigid bodies and cavities are considered. The direct scattering problem is formulated in differential and integral form. The boundary integral equations are constructed using a combination of single- and double-layer potentials. Using a Fredholm type theory it is proved that these boundary integral equations are uniquely solvable. Assuming that the incident field is produced by a superposition of plane incident waves in all directions of propagation and polarization it is established that the scattered field is also expressed as the superposition of the corresponding scattered fields. A pair of integral equations of the first kind which hold independently of the boundary conditions are constructed for the far-field region. The properties of the Herglotz functions are used to derive solvability conditions for the far-field equations. It is also proved that the far-field operators, in terms of which we can express the far-field equations, are injective and have dense range. An analytical example for spheres illuminates the theoretical results.  相似文献

This article studies positive solutions of Robin problem for semi-linear second order ordinary differential equations. Nondegeneracy and uniqueness results are proven for homogeneous differential equations. Necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of one or two positive solutions for inhomogeneous differential equations or differential equations with concave-convex nonlinearities are obtained by making use of the nondegeneracy and uniqueness results for positive solutions of homogeneous differential equations.  相似文献

In this paper, necessary corditions are obtained for an optimal control problem whose state variables are given in terms of integral equations. The conditions are obtained separately for Volterra equations and Fredholm equations. The main result for each case is the maximum principle and multiplier rule. Existence results of Part I of the paper are generalized to two types of autoconvolution equations of the third kind having free terms with nonzero values at x=0 like the well-known Bernstein-Doetsch equation for the Jacobian theta zero functions. Also uniqueness results for the linear convolution equations in Part I of the paper are extended to more general function spaces. Further, a special class of integro-differential equations with autoconvolution integral and two classes of the linear singular Abel-Volterra equations are dealt with.  相似文献

This paper studies the global existence and regularity of classical solutions to the 2D incompressible magneto-micropolar equations with partial dissipation. The magneto-micropolar equations model the motion of electrically conducting micropolar fluids in the presence of a magnetic field. When there is only partial dissipation, the global regularity problem can be quite difficult. We are able to single out three special partial dissipation cases and establish the global regularity for each case. As special consequences, the 2D Navier-Stokes equations, the 2D magnetohydrodynamic equations, and the 2D micropolar equations with several types of partial dissipation always possess global classical solutions. The proofs of our main results rely on anisotropic Sobolev type inequalities and suitable combination and cancellation of terms.  相似文献

This paper studies the multidimensional stability of traveling fronts in monostable reaction-difusion equations,including Ginzburg-Landau equations and Fisher-KPP equations.Eckmann and Wayne(1994)showed a one-dimensional stability result of traveling fronts with speeds c c(the critical speed)under complex perturbations.In the present work,we prove that these traveling fronts are also asymptotically stable subject to complex perturbations in multiple space dimensions(n=2,3),employing weighted energy methods.  相似文献

In this paper we consider some equations similar to Navier-Stokes equations, the three-dimensional Leray-alpha equations with space periodic boundary conditions. We establish the regularity of the equations by using the classical Faedo-Galerkin method. Our argument shows that there exist an unique weak solution and an unique strong solution for all the time for the Leray-alpha equations, furthermore, the strong solutions are analytic in time with values in the Gevrey class of functions (for the space variable). The relations between the Leray-alpha equations and the Navier-Stokes equations are also considered.  相似文献

A large number of mathematical studies on the Boltzmann equation are based on the Grad's angular cutoff assumption. However, for particle interaction with inverse power law potentials, the associated cross-sections have a non-integrable singularity corresponding to the grazing collisions. Smoothing properties of solutions are then expected. On the other hand, the uncertainty principle, established by Heisenberg in 1927, has been developed so far in various situations, and it has been applied to the study of the existence and smoothness of solutions to partial differential equations. This paper is the first one to apply this celebrated principle to the study of the singularity in the cross-sections for kinetic equations. Precisely, we will first prove a generalized version of the uncertainty principle and then apply it to justify rigorously the smoothing properties of solutions to some kinetic equations. In particular, we give some estimates on the regularity of solutions in Sobolev spaces w.r.t. all variables for both linearized and nonlinear space inhomogeneous Boltzmann equations without angular cutoff, as well as the linearized space inhomogeneous Landau equation.  相似文献

The studies on theoretical modeling of a sandwich shell (SS) and sandwich beam (SB) are presented in this paper. The displacements of adhesive layers are computed in the whole SS. The Euler-Ostrogradskii equations are used to derive the equations of equilibrium, which contain six 16th-order differential equations. The three-point bending of a sandwich beam is considered and the behavior of the adhesive layer of the SB is calculated.  相似文献

A direct link between a Vlasov equation and the equations of motion of a rotating fluid with an effective pressure depending only on a pseudo-density is illustrated. In this direct link, the resulting fluid equations necessarily appear in flux conservative form when there are no topographical and rotational terms. In contrast, multilayer isopycnic and isentropic equations used in atmosphere and ocean dynamics, in the absence of topographical and rotational terms, cannot be brought into a conservative flux form, and, hence, cannot be derived directly from the Vlasov equations. Another route is explored, therefore: deriving the Hamiltonian formulation of the two-layer isopycnic and isentropic equations as a restriction from a Hamiltonian formulation of two decoupled Vlasov equations. The work is motivated by our search for energy-preserving or even Hamiltonian (kinetic) numerical schemes.  相似文献

Quasi-Newton equations play a central role in quasi-Newton methods for optimization and various quasi-Newton equations are available. This paper gives a survey on these quasi-Newton equations and studies properties of quasi-Newton methods with updates satisfying different quasi-Newton equations. These include single-step quasi-Newton equations that use only gradient information and that use both gradient and function value information in one step, and multi-step quasi-Newton equations that use the gradient information in last m steps. Main properties of quasi-Newton methods with updates satisfying different quasi-Newton equations are studied. These properties include the finite termination property, invariance, heredity of positive definite updates, consistency of search directions, global convergence and local superlinear convergence properties.  相似文献

Missing data and time-dependent covariates often arise simultaneously in longitudinal studies, and directly applying classical approaches may result in a loss of efficiency and biased estimates. To deal with this problem, we propose weighted corrected estimating equations under the missing at random mechanism, followed by developing a shrinkage empirical likelihood estimation approach for the parameters of interest when time-dependent covariates are present. Such procedure improves efficiency over generalized estimation equations approach with working independent assumption, via combining the independent estimating equations and the extracted additional information from the estimating equations that are excluded by the independence assumption. The contribution from the remaining estimating equations is weighted according to the likelihood of each equation being a consistent estimating equation and the information it carries. We show that the estimators are asymptotically normally distributed and the empirical likelihood ratio statistic and its profile counterpart follow central chi-square distributions asymptotically when evaluated at the true parameter. The practical performance of our approach is demonstrated through numerical simulations and data analysis.  相似文献

The author proposes a two-dimensional generalization of Constantin-Lax-Majda model. Some results about singular solutions are given. This model might be the first step toward the singular solutions of the Euler equations. Along the same line (vorticity formulation), the author presents some further model equations. He possibly models various aspects of difficulties related with the singular solutions of the Euler and Navier-Stokes equations. Some discussions on the possible connection between turbulence and the singular solutions of the Navier-Stokes equations are made.  相似文献
