Complete photonic band gaps (PBGs) are found in one-dimensional ternary photonic crystals (1D TPCs) composed of an ordinary dielectric and single negative metamaterials. The proposed TPC gives omni directional PBG completely independent of polarizations dependent weekly on angle of incidence. Here the choice of different parameters of TPC is done in such a way so that it eliminates the Brewster's-angle transmission resonance, thus allowing a complete 3D PBG. It exhibits a photonic band or gap near frequencies where either the magnetic permeability or the electric permittivity of the metamaterial changes sign, whose width increases with the increasing angle of incidence. These result from the dispersive properties of the metamaterials and disappear for the particular case of propagation along the stratification direction. The results are discussed in terms of incident angle, layer thickness, dielectric constant of the dielectric material for TE and TM polarizations.  相似文献

Dynamics of electron wave packets in an asymmetric quantum well in the presence of Rashba spinorbit coupling was analytically and numerically studied. Electron Green’s functions were introduced and the evolution of 1D and 2D wave packets was studied. The effect of packet splitting caused by the presence of two branches with different chiralities in the Rashba Hamiltonian spectrum and zitterbewegung, i.e., packet center’s jitter, was studied. Spatial components of the spin density were calculated. It was shown that the component of the spin density S y in split parts of the wave packet has opposite signs, and two other spin density components oscillate in space between scattering packets.  相似文献

We study the spin-resolved transport in a two-terminal graphene nanoflake device with a Rashba spinorbit coupling region in the center of the device. The Green's function method is applied to the system and the spin transmission probability and the spin polarization in x, y, and z directions are calculated. It is found that the components of the spin polarization are antisymmetric functions of Fermi energy, which oscillate and decay to the zero with increasing the energy for all values of the Rashba strength. It is shown that by tuning the Rashba strength via a gate voltage and/or changing the size of the system, it is possible to control the sign and magnitude of the spin polarization. The system represented here is a typical candidate for full electrical spintronic devices based on the carbon materials that are used for spin filtration.  相似文献

We study the scattering of an electron of a 2DEG through a large point contact separating a region where the electrons are free and a region where the Rashba spin-orbit coupling is present. The scattering depends dramatically on the electron incidence angle showing double refraction within the Rashba region. For incidence not normal to the interface the electron spin state is not conserved. The calculated conductance exhibits an oscillating behavior as a function of spin state of the incident electrons with different spin down and spin up currents. Our model describes both a ferromagnetic semimetallic source and a simple metallic injection electrode. In the first case the electrons are injected in a pure spin state and in the second one they are unpolarized, that is in a statistical mixture of spin up and down states. We study the optical response of strongly coupled metal nanoparticle chains using rigorous multiple scattering calculations. The collective resonant frequency of silver nanosphere chains and the coupling between chains are considered. The coupling between silver nanoparticle chains are understood by the transmission and reflection calculations of 2D periodic arrays of nanospheres. The results are in agreement with recent experiments. The splitting of plasmon resonance modes for different polarizations of the incident light are explored. Our results show that the transverse mode resonant wavelength is very sensitive to the inter-chain distance. Results on the effect of disorder are also presented.  相似文献

We present a theoretical study of inelastic electron scattering from a fixed Coulomb potential in the presence of a laser field, based on analytic expressions for the two-photon continuum-continuum transition matrix element. We present here the particular case of incident and scattered light polarizations orthogonal to each other and to the incident electron momentum. Results are given for the cross sections corresponding to the detection of electrons and polarized photons in coincidence, and for the detection of polarized photons only.  相似文献

根据Mie散射理论,以对数正态分布函数描述沙尘气溶胶粒子群的粒径尺度分布,计算了沙尘气溶胶粒子群在0.2~40μm波段间对太阳短波辐射和地球大气长波辐射的单次散射反照率、散射相矩阵函数,揭示了不同相对湿度时,沙尘粒子群对入射辐射的散射和偏振的特征。结果表明,沙尘粒子群的单次散射反照率随着入射波长的增加有较大起伏,不同相对湿度条件下,变化趋势基本一致;在可见光、近红外波段单次散射反照率随湿度增加而变大,湿度95%时非常接近于1;大于10μm的热红外波段单次散射反照率随相对湿度增加而减小,具有较强的吸收辐射能力。散射辐射强度受湿度影响较小,随散射角的增加呈现先减小后增大的趋势,且增大的趋势随着波长的增加而减弱;不同波段上,线偏振和圆偏振随散射角和相对湿度变化存在差异;在前向和后向仅对入射辐射为圆偏振辐射产生圆偏振散射;散射光的偏振特性及其湿度差异主要表现在后向散射区,多以拱形形式体现。拱顶峰值散射角位置存在差异,且峰值散射角随相对湿度的降低向后向漂移。  相似文献

A gold dimer structure consisting of a notched triangle nanoslice and a rectangle nanorod is proposed to produce distinct Fano resonance. Owing to the coupling between the dipole plasmon mode of the nanorod and the dipole or quadrupole plasmon mode of the nanoslice, the extinction spectrum with a deep Fano dip is formed and can be well fitted by the Fano interference model for different geometry parameters. In addition, Fano resonance of the gold dimer nanostructure also intensely depends on the polarization direction of incident light. Moreover, Fano resonance of the triangle–rod trimer is also analyzed by adding another nanorod into the former dimer and exhibits the splitting of plasmonic resonant peak in high order coupling modes. The plasmonic hybridizations in these nanostructures have been analyzed for revealing the physical origin of the Fano resonance.  相似文献

The Green’s function of the electric field of plasmons is determined in a semi-infinite medium with an abrupt plasma boundary where nonequilibrium conduction electrons either undergo elastic reflection from the boundary or “stick” to it and give rise to a stationary surface charge. The angular reflection of elastically scattered electrons can be either specular or diffuse. The Green’s function is used to find the singleevent spectrum of energy loss by a fast electron moving parallel to the boundary. The effect of electronboundary scattering parameters on the structure of bulk and surface plasmon resonances is analyzed. The probability of transition radiation of bulk plasmon by an electron moving in vacuum is examined. A new type of surface resonance is found under conditions of perfectly elastic scattering of conduction electrons from the plasma boundary, similar in structure to a tangential surface plasmon.  相似文献

We theoretically investigate light scattering by electrons of a 2D system in a strong magnetic field perpendicular to the plane of the system (the filling factor is smaller than two, i.e., only the states of the zeroth Landau level are filled). Analysis is carried out in the resonance approximation, in which the frequencies of the incident and scattered light are close to the effective separation between the conduction band and one of the branches of the valence band of the semiconductor. Spin splitting of the Landau level in the conduction band associated with Zeeman and the spin-orbit interactions is taken into account. The dynamic screening effects are considered in the random phase approximation (RPA).  相似文献

The scattering of linearly or circularly polarized light from a semibounded randomly inhomogeneous medium is considered. A new technique for simulating the electromagnetic radiation transport using the Monte Carlo method is proposed, which makes it possible to avoid cumbersome calculation of Muller matrices. Expressions are obtained for the co- and cross-polarized components of backscattered light for incident light of arbitrary polarization. The coherent and incoherent backscattering components are calculated for arbitrary combinations of incident and scattered light polarizations. It is shown that the main contribution to coherent backscattering is from the co- and cross-polarized components for linearly and circularly polarized light, respectively. The backscattering from an optically active random medium is calculated.  相似文献

Along the lines of Blonder, Tinkham and Klapwijk, we investigate the charge transport through ferromagnet/two-dimensional electronic gas/d-wave superconductor (F/2DEG/S) junctions in the presence of Rashba spin-orbit (SO) coupling and focus our attention on the interplay between spin polarization and spin precession. At zero spin polarization, the spin-mixing scattering resulted from Rashba SO coupling decreases the zero-bias conductance peak. Under spin polarization, spin precession introduces novel Andreev reflection, which competes with the effect of spin-mixing scattering. If the F layer is a half metal, the later effect is overwhelmed by that of novel Andreev reflection. As a result, the zero-bias conductance dip caused by spin polarization is enhanced, and at strong Rashba SO coupling, a split zero-bias peak is found in the gap. In an intermediate region where the two effects are comparable with each other, the zero-bias conductance shows a reentrant behavior as a function of Rashba SO coupling.  相似文献

We study shot noise for spin-polarized currents and entangled electron pairs in a four-probe (beam-splitter) geometry with a local Rashba spin-orbit (s-o) interaction in the incoming leads. Within the scattering formalism we find that shot noise exhibits Rashba-induced oscillations with continuous bunching and antibunching. We show that entangled states and triplet states can be identified via their Rashba phase in noise measurements. For two-channel leads, we find an additional spin rotation due to s-o induced interband coupling which enhances spin control. We show that the s-o interaction deter-mines the Fano factor, which provides a direct way to measure the Rashba coupling constant via noise.  相似文献

Results of a study of energy losses and electron transfer processes for grazing scattering of fluorine atoms and anions scattering along different azimuthal orientations of the TiO2 crystal are presented. We observe strong variations in the overall intensity of scattered particles which are due to channelling effects. The energy losses do not show strong variations as a function of crystal azimuth except for the case of scattering along the (0 0 1) direction between the bridging oxygen atom rows, where we also observe differences in the energy losses of scattered ions and neutrals. We attribute this to the fact that larger F survival occurs for trajectories staying farther from the surface, when also the energy losses remain small. The overall characteristics of energy losses are attributed mainly to trajectory effects due to scattering in regions of different electron density. Measurements of the ratio of scattered ions to the total scattered flux, i.e. the ion fractions which reflect electron capture and loss processes, show that these are not the same for incident anions and atoms. A strong difference for scattering along the (0 0 1) direction is observed, where at low incident energies a strong survival of incident ions occurs. These results are tentatively discussed in terms of non resonant electron capture at lattice O sites and electron loss into the conduction band or by collisional detachment with bridging O atoms.  相似文献

一直以来,将纳米结构材料用于其表面增强拉曼散射(SERS)时会先测试其吸收光谱,因为一般研究认为,纳米结构材料产生SERS的原因是纳米结构材料对于入射光的吸收产生了局域表面等离子体共振(LSPR),因此我们常把SERS的增强因子随波长变化的曲线等同于吸收光谱曲线。近年来,有学者认为两者之间的联系可能是非常间接的,并且在许多情况下会产生误导。为了能够阐明两个之间的具体关系,考虑到银纳米粒子(AgNPs)以其局域表面等离子体共振而显著提高拉曼散射的能力而闻名, 是制备SERS基底的理想纳米材料,我们从实验和理论两个角度研究了三种不同状态的AgNPs中表面增强拉曼散射的增强因子(EF)、吸收光谱以及空间的电场分布。实验上,利用化学还原法制备了银溶胶(Ag-sol),并对Ag-sol做了透射电子显微镜(TEM)、紫外可见分光光度计(UV-Vis)以及拉曼的表征实验,统计和计算了银溶胶的EF和吸收光谱。理论上,利用仿真软件COMSOL Multiphysics建立了不同聚合类型AgNPs的仿真模型,模拟计算了与实验相对应的EF随波长变化的曲线以及吸收光谱。结果表明:表面等离子体共振的空间分布对吸收和最大EF值起着重要的作用;具有固定位置的共振吸收峰(第一个峰位)主要受“单颗粒类型”效应的影响,而最大EF处的吸收峰(第二个峰位)由“耦合间隙类型”效应引起的蓝移谐振峰主导,且最大EF值及第二个吸收峰的峰位会随着粒子的间隙、偏振角度等因素而变化。研究表明,AgNps样品的吸收光谱和最大EF曲线之间是部分相关的。  相似文献

空心方形纳米结构能够激发更大面积的增强电场,故其可以作为衬底用于表面增强拉曼散射.应用离散偶极子近似算法研究了空心方形银纳米结构的消光光谱及其近场电场分布与入射光偏振方向之间的关系.研究表明,空心方形银纳米结构的表面等离子体共振峰不随入射光偏振方向的改变而移动,但是其表面增强电场分布却强烈地依赖于入射光的偏振方向.另外,还讨论了空心方形银纳米结构间的耦合作用对其表面等离子体共振模式的影响.结果发现,可以通过调节结构间的距离来改变结构间的耦合作用,同时改变了表面等离子体共振峰的位置.这些结果将为理解闭合纳米 关键词: 空心方形银纳米结构 表面等离子体 偏振 电场耦合  相似文献

Using the single-particle formalism, we calculate the thermopower of conduction electrons in a nanowire considering dispersion relations containing local maxima. At low temperatures, the thermopower exhibits positive and negative peaks that are consistent with Mott's approximation. The peaks are degenerate at a certain direction of the magnetic field defined by the strengths of the Rashba and Dresselhaus interactions. The sign and the height of the peak depend on the number of channels available for conduction.  相似文献

It has been shown that soft X-ray appearance potential spectroscopy (SXAPS) can be used as a probe of the conduction band density of states in several of the layer transition metal dichalcogenides, where the pronounced structure seen for TiS2 agrees well with X-ray absorption data. In contrast, the complex structure seen in the SXAPS of pyrolytic graphite has previously been interpreted in terms of strong plasmon coupling. However, we find that the SXAP spectrum for vacuum cleaved pyrolytic graphite shows details not readily explicable by such an argument but which agree well with what would be expected on the basis of a conduction band self-convolution model. Further strong support for this interpretation is derived from XPS and SXAPS studies of the isostructural, isoelectronic boron nitride.  相似文献

研究了在三开口劈裂金属纳米环中,当入射场偏振方向不同时出现的多极局域表面等离激元共振现象及折射率传感特性。研究表明,当入射场偏振方向分别沿x 轴和y 轴时,在可见光-近红外区域分别激发起两个和三个明显的共振峰。通过改变缺口的张角,能够实现对共振峰位和强度的可控调整。共振峰位处劈裂纳米环的近场分布表明,LHA(左半弧)和DRHA(双右半弧)之间等离激元的杂化耦合是形成上述共振的原因。劈裂纳米环的多极共振非常适合折射率传感应用。当改变周围环境折射率,入射场沿x 轴偏振时,折射率敏感度的最大值可达到1365nm/RIU;入射场沿y 轴偏振时,折射率敏感度最大值可达2229nm/RIU。  相似文献
