The boundary layer on a plate with an inclined blunt leading edge is investigated for a free-stream flow with a small span-periodic velocity inhomogeneity. This flow simulates the penetration of the outer turbulence into the swept wing boundary layer. It is shown that the boundary layer perturbations generated by the inhomogeneity generally have a streamwise velocity component significantly greater than the initial inhomogeneity amplitude. The dependence of the perturbations on the distance from the leading edge and the spanwise inhomogeneity period is found. It is shown that the swept wing boundary layer is less sensitive to the perturbation type in question than the straight wing boundary layer.  相似文献

A numerical investigation in the approximation of boundary layer theory has been made of the development of the flow near the surface of a rotating plate in a two-dimensional flow with rectilinear streamlines perpendicular to the leading edge in a rotating coordinate system attached rigidly to the plate. In an earlier investigation [1] using the approximate method of integral relations, Kurosaka obtained and described quantitatively a transition from a Blasius boundary layer to an Eckmann boundary layer in the form of three-dimensional oscillations. The solution described in the present paper confirms the oscillatory nature of the development of the boundary layer, but the quantitative results differ strongly from Kurosaka's.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 3, pp. 154–157, May–June, 1982.  相似文献

Viscous gas flow past a finite-length plate in the strong interaction regime is investigated. The expansions of the flow functions in the vicinity of the leading edge are derived and the boundary value problems for the viscous and inviscid flow regions are formulated and jointly solved. The effect of the adiabatic exponent and the temperature factor on the flow parameters in these regions and the eigenvalue determining the intensity of the upstream disturbance transfer is studied. It is shown that in the non-self-similar case a transitional layer arises at the outer edge of the boundary layer.  相似文献

The linear problem is considered of a localized vibrator mounted on a flat plate in a subsonic boundary layer. The plate and the vibrator are assumed to be heat-insulated, and the dimensions of the vibrator and the frequency of the oscillations are such that the flow may be described by means of the equations of a boundary layer with self-induced pressure. The amplitude of the oscillations of the vibrator and the perturbations of the flow parameters corresponding to it are assumed to be small, and this makes it possible to linearize these equations. Integral transformations are used to construct a solution for values of the time greatly exceeding the period of the oscillations of the vibrator. The profiles of the perturbations of the longitudinal velocity are calculated in dependence on the transverse coordinate for various values of the longitudinal coordinate. A comparison is made with the profiles of the perturbations of the longitudinal velocity which have been obtained experimentally.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 3, pp. 61–67, May–June, 1987.  相似文献

The unsteady boundary layer over a semi-infinite flat plate was investigated in this paper. The flow involves the unsteady flow over a flat plate with leading edge accretion or ablation. The momentum boundary layer was further analyzed and it was shown that the leading edge ablation had a similar effect to the wall mass injection or upstream wall movement making the fluid blown away from the wall. The thermal boundary layer of the same flow was also studied. Results show that the leading edge accretion or ablation can greatly change the fluid motion and the heat transfer characteristics.  相似文献

The flow past a flat plate with a blunted leading edge by a flow of a viscous incompressible fluid with a small spanwise-periodic, steady nonuniformity of the velocity profile is considered. Such a flow simulates the interaction of one type of vortex disturbances of a turbulent external flow with the boundary layer. The solution obtained predicts generation of strong disturbances in the boundary layer, which are similar to the streaky structure observed in the case of high free-stream turbulence. It is shown that the boundary-layer flow on blunted bodies is more sensitive to vortex disturbances than on a plate with a sharp leading edge. Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute, Zhukovskii, 140160. The paper is a mathematical study of the three-dimensional flow of viscous gas in a hypersonic boundary layer that develops along a flat wing whose leading edge has a step shape. The flow interacts with a flap on the wing set at a small angle. A linear solution to the problem is constructed under the assumption that the deflection angle of the flap is small and the difference between the length of the plates is of order unity. It is shown that an important part in the formation of the flow near and behind the flap may be played by the change in the pressure along the span of the wing due to the step shape of the leading edge. It is significant that although the pressure and displacement thickness are continuous functions of the transverse coordinate, the longitudinal and transverse components of the friction force have discontinuities.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 2, pp. 19–26, March–April, 1991.I thank V. A method of successive approximations is proposed for the solution of the equations of the three-dimensional incompressible boundary layer on bodies of arbitrary shape. A coordinate system connected with the streamlines of the external nonviscous flow is used. It is assumed that the velocity across the external streamlines is small. When the intensity of secondary flow is low the equations describing the boundary layer in an incompressible fluid are reduced to a form analogous to the equations for the boundary layer on axially symmetrical bodies. An approximate analytical solution is obtained for the velocity and for the friction in the form of equations which can be used for any problems of a three-dimensional incompressible boundary layer. The method developed was applied to the problem of the three-dimensional boundary layer at a plate with a cylindrical obstacle in the presence of a slip angle.  相似文献

A subsonic stream of gas flowing over a thermally insulated plate and having an elevated temperature in a thin layer adjacent to the surface is considered. This temperature distribution in the flow can be obtained by providing a volume energy supply near the leading edge of the plate. The results of calculating the position of the line of laminar-turbulent transition on the basis of linear stability theory and the eN method are presented. It is shown that the presence of a heated layer of gas near the surface of the plate leads to an increase in the stability of the laminar flow and an extension of the laminar interval of the boundary layer. A nonmonotonic dependence of the length of the laminar interval on the thickness of the heated layer of gas is detected. Moscow. A new approach on MHD natural convection boundary layer flow from a finite flat plate of arbitrary inclination in a rotating environment, is presented. This problem plays a significant role on boundary layer flow control. It is shown that taking into account the pressure rise region at the leading edge of the plate leads to avoid separation and the back flow is reduced by the strong magnetic field. It is also shown that the frictional drag at the leading edge of the plate is reduced when the inclination angle α=π/4. In the case of isothermal flat plate, the bulk temperature becomes identical for any value of Gr (Grashof number) when the value of M 2 (Hartmann number) and K 2 (rotation parameter) are kept fixed.  相似文献

The governing non-linear high-order, sixth-order in space and third-order in time, differential equation is constructed for the unsteady flow of an incompressible conducting fourth-grade fluid in a semi-infinite domain. The unsteady flow is induced by a periodically oscillating two-dimensional infinite porous plate with suction/blowing, located in a uniform magnetic field. It is shown that by augmenting additional boundary conditions at infinity based on asymptotic structures and transforming the semi-infinite physical space to a bounded computational domain by means of a coordinate transformation, it is possible to obtain numerical solutions of the non-linear magnetohydrodynamic equation. In particular, due to the unsymmetry of the boundary conditions, in numerical simulations non-central difference schemes are constructed and employed to approximate the emerging higher-order spatial derivatives. Effects of material parameters, uniform suction or blowing past the porous plate, exerted magnetic field and oscillation frequency of the plate on the time-dependent flow, especially on the boundary layer structure near the plate, are numerically analysed and discussed. The flow behaviour of the fourth-grade non-Newtonian fluid is also compared with those of the Newtonian fluid.  相似文献

The problem of stability in a compressible boundary layer, as opposed to an incompressible layer, involves many parameters and requires consideration of three-dimensional perturbations. The transverse component of the velocity, the thermal regime at the wall, etc., take on great significance. Investigation of all aspects of this problem requires systematic calculations performed by electronic computers. There do exist a few calculations of stability of a compressible boundary layer with respect to three-dimensional disturbances for particular cases. It follows from those studies (see, for example, [1]) that consideration of three-dimensional perturbations and of the transverse component of the basic flow velocity is important. Many aspects of this problem remain uninvestigated. Aside from the sheer cumbersomeness of the problem, there exist purely mathematical difficulties connected with the presence of a small parameter with higher derivatives in the differential equations for the perturbations, which causes losses in accuracy of calculation. In this present study an algorithm will be developed for solution of the problem of stability of a compressible boundary layer relative to three-dimensional disturbances with consideration of the transverse component of the basic velocity. Calculations are performed for a boundary layer on a plane thermally insulating plate, and the effects of the transverse velocity component and the three-dimensionality of the perturbations on stability at various Mach numbers are demonstrated.  相似文献

This paper presents heat transfer process in a two-dimensional steady hydromagnetic convective flow of an electrically conducting fluid over a flat plate with partial slip at the surface of the boundary subjected to the convective surface heat flux at the boundary. The analysis accounts for both temperature-dependent viscosity and temperature dependent thermal conductivity. The local similarity equations are derived and solved numerically using the Nachtsheim-Swigert iteration procedure. Results for the dimensionless velocity, temperature and ambient Prandtl number within the boundary layer are displayed graphically delineating the effect of various parameters characterizing the flow. The results show that momentum boundary layer thickness significantly depends on the surface convection parameter, Hartmann number and on the sign of the variable viscosity parameter. The results also show that plate surface temperature is higher when there is no slip at the plate compared to its presence. For both slip and no-slip cases surface temperature of the plate can be controlled by controlling the strength of the applied magnetic field. In modelling the thermal boundary layer flow with variable viscosity and variable thermal conductivity, the Prandtl number must be treated as a variable irrespective of flow conditions whether there is slip or no-slip at the boundary to obtain realistic results.  相似文献

A study is made of the three-dimensional flow of a viscous gas around a flat plate with an inflection in the generator of the leading edge in the case of strong interaction between the exterior hypersonic flow and the boundary layer. Numerical solutions to the problem are obtained. It is shown that near points of inflection of the profile of the leading edge of a flat wing strong self-induced secondary flows can be formed together with associated local peaks of the heat fluxes and the friction.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 3, pp. 40–45, May–June, 1980.  相似文献

Effects of Hall current on MHD free convection boundary layer flow of a viscous incompressible electrically conducting fluid past a heated vertical flat plate of finite dimension in the presence of a uniform transverse magnetic field have been studied. An exact solution of the governing equations describing the flow has been obtained. The velocity field, induced magnetic field and bulk temperature distributions in the boundary layer flow have been discussed. It is found that the velocity components increase with an increase in Hall parameter. It is noticed that the induced magnetic field components are radically influenced by the Hall parameter. It is also found that the magnitude of bulk temperature in the x-direction decreases with an increase in either Hall parameter or magnetic parameter. On the other hand, the magnitude of the bulk temperature in the z-direction increases with an increase in Hall parameter whereas it decreases with an increase in magnetic parameter.  相似文献

The partial differential equation of the boundary layer on a flat plate are simplified by using the universal variables for turbulent flow. For laminar flow this gives boundary layer having a finite thickness and a friction coefficient differing by a few percent from the Blasius value. For a turbulent flow a differential equation for the velocity distribution is obtained with a parameter which varies slowly with the streamwise coordinate. The numerical value of this parameter is determined as an eigenvalue of the differential equations giving a velocity profile which evolves as the boundary layer thickens. Numerical calculations using a simple eddy viscosity model gave results in very good agreement with experiment.  相似文献

The results are given of the calculation of a three-dimensional boundary layer on a triangular plate of finite length in a regime of strong viscous interaction with an external hypersonic stream for both symmetric flow as well as in the presence of an angle of slip. The influence of the change in the pressure on the trailing edge of the plate on the boundary layer characteristics is investigated.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 5, pp. 46–52, September–October, 1982.  相似文献

The steady forced convection flow of a power-law fluid over a horizontal plate embedded in a saturated Darcy-Brinkman porous medium is considered. The flow is driven by a constant pressure gradient. In addition to the convective inertia, also the “porous Forchheimer inertia” effects are taken into account. The pertinent boundary value problem is investigated analytically, as well as numerically by a finite difference method. It is found that far away from the leading edge, the velocity boundary layer always approaches an asymptotic state with identically vanishing transverse component. This holds for pseudoplastic (0 < n < 1), Newtonian (n = 1), and dilatant (n > 1) fluids as well. The asymptotic solution is given for several particular values of the power-law index n in an exact analytical form. The main flow characteristics of physical and engineering interest are discussed in the paper in some detail.  相似文献

Experimental measurements address the effects on a turbulent boundary layer of wall roughness on a flat plate and a ramp that produces a separation bubble over the ramp trailing edge. A fully rough flow condition is achieved on the upstream flat plate. The main effect of the wall roughness on the outer layer turbulence on a flat plate is to change the friction velocity. The separation region is substantially larger for the rough-wall case. The rough-wall boundary layer turbulence is less sensitive to the onset of an adverse pressure gradient over the ramp, producing substantially smaller Reynolds stress peaks in upstream flat-plate, wall-unit coordinates.  相似文献
