The aim of this note is to show that the affine Lie algebraA 1 (1) has a natural family , ,v of Fock representations on the spaceC[x i,y j;i andj ], parametrized by (,v) C 2. By corresponding the highest weight , of , to each (,), the parameter spaceC 2 forms a double cover of the weight spaceC0C1 with singularities at linear forms of level –2; this number is (–1)-times the dual Coxeter number. The current and logarithm-of-the-current distributionsn(i) andn(ln i) on bond diluted two-dimensional random-resistor networks at the percolation threshold are studied by a modified transfer matrix method. Thek th moment (–9k8) of n(ln i) i.e., ln i&k, is found to scale with the linear sizeL as (InL)(k). The exponents (k) are not inconsistent with the recent theoretical prediction (k)=k, with deviations which may be attributed to severe finitesize effects. For small currents, ln n(y), yielding information on the threshold below which the multifractality of (i) breaks down. Our numerical results for the moments of the currents are consistent with other available results.  相似文献

Monte Carlo simulation shows the average mass of the largest cluster to increase asL 1.9 at the percolation threshold inL × L square lattices,L290. This fractal dimension agrees with the finite-size scaling prediction/v for this exponent, in contrast to results of Halley and Thang Mai. The mean-square fluctuations in the mass of the largest cluster diverge with the same exponent/v1.8 as the susceptibility.  相似文献

We consider a variant of the problem of directed polymers on a disordered lattice, in which the disorder is geometrical in nature. In particular, we allow a finite probability for each bond to be absent from the lattice. We show, through the use of numerical and scaling arguments on both Euclidean and hierarchical lattices, that the model has two distinct scaling behaviors, depending upon whether the concentration of bonds on the lattice is at or above the directed percolation threshold. We are particularly interested in the exponents and, defined by ft and xt , describing the free-energy and transverse fluctuations, respectively. Above the percolation threshold, the scaling behavior is governed by the standard random energy exponents (=1/3 and =2/3 in 1+1 dimensions). At the percolation threshold, we predict (and verify numerically in 1+1 dimensions) the exponents=1/2 and =v/v, where v and v are the directed percolation exponents. In addition, we predict the absence of a free phase in any dimension at the percolation threshold.  相似文献

The dynamics of ann-component vector spin glass with infinite range interactions are investigated near and above the Gabay-Toulouse (GT) line. The local transverse susceptibility T for 0 varies along the whole GT lineT c1 (H) as v , with a field and temperature independent critical exponentv=1/2. The longitudinal susceptibility L () remains analytic for all (T, H)T c1 (H), except for a cross-over fromv=1 tov=1/2 forH0 at the freezing temperatureT=T f . The dynamic susceptibilities T () and L () are already coupled above the GT line via self-energy terms. BelowT c1 (H), this coupling is strongly enhanced by other mechanisms.  相似文献

In general relativity, conservation of energy and momentum is expressed by an equation of the form /x= 0, where –gT represents the total energy, momentum, and stress. This equation arises from the divergence formula dV v = (/x v )d 4 d. Here we show that this formula fails to account properly for the system of basis vectors e(x). We obtain the (invariant) divergence formula e dV v = e (/x v + )d 4 d. Conservation of energy and momentum is therefore expressed by the covariant equation (/x v ) + = 0. We go on to calculate the variation of the action under uniform displacements in space-time. This calculation yields the covariant equation of conservation, as well as the fully symmetric energy tensor . Finally, we discuss the transfer of energy and momentum, within the context of Einstein's theory of gravitation.  相似文献

We consider the following problem as a model for the slow passage through a steady bifurcation: dy/dt = (t) y – y3 +, where is a slowly increasing function oft given by= i + t ( i,<0). Both and are small parameters. This problem is motivated by laser experiments as well as theoretical studies of laser problems. In addition, this equation is a typical amplitude equation for imperfect steady bifurcations with cubic nonlinearities. When=0, we have found that=0 is not the point where the bifurcation transition is observed. This transition appears at a value = j > 0. We call j the delay of the bifurcation transition. We study this delay as a function of i, the initial position of, and, the imperfection parameter. To this end, we propose an asymptotic study of this equation as 0, small but fixed. Our main objective is to describe this delay in terms of the relative magnitude of and. Since time-dependent imperfections are always present in experiments, we analyze in the second part of the paper the effect of a small-amplitude but time-periodic imperfection given by (t) = cos(t).  相似文献

The paper describes the principle of a detector with two opposite surface barriers and the experimental verification of its functioning. The detector permits double the effective depth to be attained on the material with a given bias voltage. The principle of opposite barriers also permits a reduction in the system of dE/dx andE detectors to one detector.

A method is suggested for the derivation of finite-size corrections in the thermodynamic functions of systems with pair interaction potential decaying at large distancesr asr d , whered is the space dimensionality and>0. It allows for a unified treatment of short-range (=2) and long-range (<2) interaction. The asymptotic analysis is illustrated by the mean spherical model of general geometryL d–d× d subject to periodic boundary conditions. We found the field structure, exact dispersion relations and power flow ofp-polarized nonlinear guided and surface waves travelling along a three-component layered structure consisting of a film of thicknessd with dielectric constant b bounded at the negativez-side by a linear medium with dielectric constant a and at the positivez-side by a nonlinear uniaxial substrate characterized by the diagonal dielectric tensor 11 = 22 = + (|E 1|2 + |E 2|2), 33 = , <0 (self-defocusing medium),E 1 andE 2 being the components of the electric field in thex andy-direction, respectively. It is shown that for sufficiently smalld/ (: wavelength) the nonlinear wave may exist only at power flows exceeding some certain minimum values. For sufficiently larged/ to some values of the power flow there correspond two distinct values of the propagation constant. In this case with increasing of the power flow the number of waveguide modes is decreasing and for higher-order modes the film-waveguide exhibits an optical-power limiter from the above behaviour.  相似文献

We define a covariant and gauge-invariant generalization of the Wigner functions of particles with spins 1/2 and 0. We consider the effect of a high-frequency pumping cost on the escape rate of a classical underdamped Brownian particle out of a deep potential well. The energy dependence of the oscillation frequency(E) is assumed to be weak on the scale of thermal energy,E(0)T(0)T/V0 (0)[E(0) is the derivative of(E) atE= 0,V 0 is the barrier height,V 0 T]. The quadratic-in- contribution to the decay rate is calculated in two different regimes: (1) for the case of resonance of the pumping frequency with the nth harmonic of the internal motion at an energye, when = n(e); (2) for a rollout region of the basic resonance near the bottom of the potential well, when ¦-(0)¦ and is the damping coefficient. In the latter case the absorption spectrum and the enhancement of the decay rate are calculated as functions of two reduced parameters, the anharmonicity of the potential,v E (0)T/, and the resonance mismatch, [(0)]/. It is shown that the effect of the pumping increases with diminishing ¦v¦ and at small v is proportional tov –1. In this regime, the dependence on is stepwise: the pumping contribution is large for v > 0 and small for v < 0. In the frame of our theory, the decay rate is invariant against the simultaneous alternation of the signs of andv. The spectrum of the energy absorption has the standard Lorentzian shape in the absence of anharmonicity,v=0, and with increasing of ¦v¦ shifts and widens retaining its bell-shape form.  相似文献

Many one-dimensional quasiperiodic systems based on the Fibonacci rule, such as the tight-binding HamiltonianH(n)=(n+1)+(n–1)+v(n) (n),n,l 2(),, wherev(n)=[(n+1)]–[n],[x] denoting the integer part ofx and the golden mean , give rise to the same recursion relation for the transfer matrices. It is proved that the wave functions and the norm of transfer matrices are polynomially bounded (critical regime) if and only if the energy is in the spectrum of the Hamiltonian. A study is made of the Shockley surface states in a linear chain of equal atoms, joined by alternately strong bonds. If the simple MO LCAO method is used, which considers the exchange integrals between nearest neighbours and next nearest neighbours, we get the surface states for a semi-infinite chain if the stronger bond is interrupted. The connection between Shockley and Tamm surface states is shown and the hypothesis is put forward that the condition for the existence of Shockley surface states has a generally simple physical interpretation, the validity of which is proved on the models of a semi-infinite crystal studied up to now.
