Mixed-Ligand complexes of Iron(III) with Pyrocatechol-3,5- disulfonie Acid (Tiron) and Thiocyanate in Aqueous Solution In the system iron(III), tiron, thiocyanate two ternary complexes could be detected in acid solution. By spectrophotometric measurements we found the species [Fe(Tiron)(SCN)(H₂O)₃]^2? and [Fe(Tiron)₂(SCN)(H₂O)]^6?. The formation and the optical properties (^λmax,^? max) are discussed.

On the interaction of potassium iodate with ammonium salts in aqueous solution A quantitative metathetic conversion of KIO₃ into NH₄IO₃ in aqueous medium, which may be expected from the solubility data, can not be achieved. Instead, mixed crystals K_x(NHJ₄)_1?xIO₃ of the perovskite type structure do crystallize, as has been revealed from X-ray powder diagrams.     

Zur Kinetik des Abbaus von Polykieselsäure (H2SiO3)x in wäßriger Lösung

The degradation of polysilicic acid has been investigated in the region of pH = 1.3–5.5 and 0–65°C. At pH = 3.3 there was found a maximum (18.5 kcal/mol) and at pH = 4.3 a minimum (15.6 kcal/mol) of the activation of this reaction. Nucleophiles and HF accelerate the degradation.     

Vergleichende Betrachtung zur Kristallwachstumskinetik von CuSO4 · 5 H2O aus wäßriger Lösung

Comparison of the Crystal Growth Rate Constants of CuSO₄ · 5 H₂O from Different Experimental Methods The growth rate of CuSO₄ · 5 H₂O was investigated using different experimental methods. These are the method of the fixed single crystal, fluidized bed experiments and the quasiisothermal batch technique. The overall growth rate constants are calculated from the different growth rate constants using the individual shape factors of volume and surface area. The kinetic coefficients well agree in respect to the difference of the experimental methods used.
