We have demonstrated a tunable multiwavelength self-seeded Brillouin-erbium fiber laser (BEFL) without externally Brillouin pumping. In this scheme, the stable multiwavelength comb can be produced within a ∼45-nm wavelength tuning range through adjusting the polarization controllers (PCs) in a high-birefringent Sagnac loop mirror. The generation of ∼200-line Stokes comb has been achieved by adjusting PCs under bidirectional pumping of two laser diodes, which is the largest wavelength number to the best of our knowledge. The effect of 980 nm pump power on the multiwavelength generation was also investigated.  相似文献

A 40-GHz wavelength tunable mode-locked fiber ring laser based on cross-gain modulation in a semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) is presented. Pulse trains with a pulse width of 10.5 ps at 40-GHz repetition frequency are obtained. The laser operates with almost 40-nm tuning range. The relationship between the key laser parameters and the output pulse characteristics is analyzed experimentally.  相似文献

Spectral tuning of a mode-locked Yb-doped fiber laser over a 90-nm range is reported. Using semiconductor saturable absorber mirrors in a fiber laser cavity incorporating a grating-pair dispersive delay line, we obtain reliable self-starting mode locking over the whole tuning range. The wide tuning range is achieved by optimization of reflection characteristics and bandgap energy of the multiple-quantum-well semiconductor saturable absorber and by proper engineering of the laser cavity.  相似文献

研制了一台高速波长连续扫描光纤激光器。使用SOA作为增益介质,用高速可调谐法珀滤波器作为波长调谐器件,构成的环形腔激光器。测量结果表明,激光器的平均输出功率2.6mW,波长扫描范围40nm,波长扫描范围内功率波动范围小于±0.4dBm,线宽小于0.01nm,扫描速度达到2kHz。  相似文献

We report a 1 018-nm ytterbium-doped double-clad fiber laser pumped by 970-nm diode. A pair of fiber Bragg gratings with reflectivities of 99.9% and 9% at a center wavelength of 1 018.9 nm are employed as cavity mirrors. The ytterbium-doped double-clad fiber is a 2.6-m-long Liekki fiber. Laser output power of 7.5 W at 1 018 nm is obtained under the pump power of 59.2 W. The overall slope efficiency of the fiber laser is about 16%. This low slope efficiency is mainly due to the incomplete absorption of the pump power.  相似文献

We report on a tandem-pumped actively Q-switched fiber laser system emitting at 1120 nm.Parasitic oscillation is challenging in Yb-doped Q-switched 1120-nm fiber laser,which is suppressed by pumping with a fiber laser at 1018 nm.At least four times improvement in output peak power is demonstrated in a single laser setup with 1018-nm fiber laser pumping instead of 976-nm laser diode pumping.This is,to the best of our knowledge,the first demonstration of a tandem-pumped Q-switched fiber laser.  相似文献

In this study, we demonstrate an all-fiber high-power linearly-polarized tunable Raman fiber laser system. An inhouse high-power tunable fiber laser was employed as the pump source. A fiber loop mirror(FLM) serving as a high reflectivity mirror and a flat-cut endface serving as an output coupler were adopted to provide broadband feedback. A piece of 59-m commercial passive fiber was used as the Raman gain medium. The Raman laser had a 27.6 nm tuning range from1112 nm to 1139.6 nm and a maximum output power of 125.3 W, which corresponds to a conversion efficiency of 79.4%.The polarization extinction ratio(PER) at all operational wavelengths was measured to be over 21 d B. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report on a hundred-watt level linearly-polarized tunable Raman fiber laser.  相似文献

A Ytterbium-doped linearly-polarized fiber laser is constructed with a polarization maintaining fiber Sagnac loop mirror. The fiber loop mirror made of polarization maintaining fiber coupler has a polarization dependent reflectivity, which provides the necessary polarization discrimination between the slow and fast axes. With a fiber Bragg grating written in normal polarization maintaining fiber as an output coupler, laser output of up to 5.6 W at 1070 nm is generated with a polarization extinction ratio of > 20 dB and an overall efficiency of 55%. The broadband polarization dependent reflection of the fiber loop mirror offers advantages of easy spectral tuning and simple linearly-polarized laser generation.  相似文献

We report a widely tunable ring-cavity tellurite fiber Raman laser covering the S+C+L+U band. A tunable range (1495-1600 nm, limited by the tunable optical bandpass filter) over 100 nm is obtained by using a single-mode tellurite fiber with high Raman gain coefficients (55 W(-1)km(-1)) and large Raman shift (~22.3 THz) as the gain medium. Furthermore, the free-running 1665 nm Raman fiber laser is achieved from the ring cavity by removing the tunable optical bandpass filter, which shows that such a tellurite fiber has potential for constructing a widely tunable fiber Raman laser covering the S+C+L+U band. A high optical signal-to-noise ratio of over 60 dB for almost all of the tunable range is also demonstrated.  相似文献

We have designed and realized a cw all-fiber tunable Yb-doped double-clad fiber laser in a unidirectional ring cavity. The side-pumping V-groove technique is used, yielding very good launching efficiency of the high-power pumping laser diode, together with a compact configuration. The fiber laser delivers as much as 800 mW of power and is tunable in the spectral range 1.04-1.10 microm . The laser linewidth is ~0.1 nm .  相似文献

A dual-ring injection-locked fiber laser consisting of a ring of optoelectronic oscillator (OEO) and a ring of fiber laser is proposed and demonstrated for tunable millimeter-wave (mm-wave) generation. The approach combines the advantages of mm-wave generation based on OEOs and fiber lasers, which can generate a high-frequency, low-phase-noise, and a mode-hopping-free mm-wave signal with a large tuning range. A low-phase-noise mm-wave signal with a tunable frequency of 30-50 GHz and a tuning step of 10 GHz is obtained in a proof-of-concept experiment. The tuning range can be as large as 140 GHz if a high bandwidth photodetector is applied.  相似文献

In this letter, a novel mechanism of hybrid optical bistability is proposed by using nonlinear mechanism in the frequency domain. This device is based on electro-optical feedback through the fiber Bragg grating on piezoelectric transducer (PZT) to tune continuous wave (CW) fiber laser. The optical bistable characteristics for two manners of separately alternating input power and bias voltage are discussed. The smallest wavelength shift of the order of 0.001 nm needed to realize a switching process in this optical bistability device is estimated. The potential applications of this device in the optical fiber sensor technique are also discussed.  相似文献

A Raman-shifted and frequency-doubled high-power Er-fiber soliton laser for seeding an efficient high-power Yb fiber femtosecond amplifier is demonstrated. The Raman-shifted and frequency-doubled Er-soliton laser is tunable from 1.00 to 1.070microm and produces bandwidth-limited 24-pJ pulses at a repetition rate of 50 MHz with a FWHM pulse width of 170 fs at 1.040microm . The Yb(3+) amplifier has a slope efficiency of 52% and generates 3-ps linearly chirped pulses with an average power of 0.8 W at 1.05microm . After pulse compression, 74-fs bandwidth-limited pulses with an average power of 0.4 W and a pulse energy of 8 nJ are generated.  相似文献

We present an ultrafine tunable single-frequency Brillouin fiber laser in which the fiber Brillouin gain also acts as a high-precision tunable filter. Controlling the strain on the fiber, the Stokes frequency shift may be precisely changed, and thus the lasing frequency can be tuned. Assisted by the frequency pulling effect, this method provides continuous ultrafine tuning ability for ~30% of the free spectral range without mode hopping, and can cover 271 MHz. The experiments showed that the laser achieves tuning step of 60 kHz.  相似文献

This paper presents a tunable hybrid brillouin-erbium fiber laser system with a maximum tuning range of more than 36.7 nm. The system was configured in a ring set-up with another fiber laser used as the brillouin pump at about 8 mW maximum launched power. Stable Stokes signals at an average of about 0.08 nm wavelength shift were observed across the tuning range. The dependency of the Stokes signal tuning range on the laser's spectral gain is also elaborated.  相似文献

A high-power Er,Yb double-clad ribbon fiber laser pumped by a 9-diode-bar pump module is reported. The laser yielded 102 W of continuous-wave output at 1566 nm for a launched pump power of 244 W, corresponding to a slope efficiency of ~ 44% with respect to launched pump power. Tunable operation was achieved using a simple external feedback cavity with a diffraction grating and the operating wavelength could be tuned from 1533 nm to 1567 nm. Temperature distribution in the ribbon fiber geometry and prospects of power scaling will be discussed.  相似文献

A skew-angle cladding-pumped tunable Yb-doped fiber laser is presented. The laser was tunable over more than 30 nm, from 1022 to 1055 nm, by employing a volume Bragg grating in a retroreflector configuration as one of the cavity delimiters. Output powers in excess of 4.3 W were recorded with a spectral bandwidth of 5 GHz and an M(2) value below 1.3 over the whole tuning range.  相似文献

In this paper, an all fiber Yb3+-doped fiber ring laser with large tuning range has been reported. A 976 nm laser diode (LD) pumped laser is used as the pump source and high concentration Yb3+-doped fiber is adopted as gain medium. Adjusting the polarization controller (PC), a widely tunable range of 20 nm from 1030 to 1050 nm is obtained. The spectral linewidth of the pulse is less than 0.2 nm. Comparing with other fiber laser structures, the fiber laser with an all-fiber structure has higher efficiency and better stability. The laser also has very stable and flat output within the whole tuning range.  相似文献

A laser-diode-pumped Yb-doped double-clad fiber laser operating in a hybrid Q-switched regime has been demonstrated. With pulsed pump light and stimulated Brillouin scattering of the gain fiber as the Q-switching mechanisms, the laser generated nanosecond pulses with a stable repetition rate. A single-pulse energy of as much as 143.1 microJ with a peak power of 28.6 kW was obtained. Use of an external-cavity diffraction grating in the Littman configuration permitted tuning of the laser wavelength over a 15.7-THz range from 1080 to 1140 nm, and a linewidth of 0.04 nm over the whole tuning range was achieved.  相似文献
