In this paper, we define the Littlewood-Paley and Lusin functions associated to the sub-Laplacian operator on nilpotent Lie groups. Then we prove the Lp (1<p<∞) boundedness of Littlewood-Paley and Lusin functions.  相似文献

Let G be a connected simply connected nilpotent Lie group. In [A. Baklouti, N. Ben Salah, The LpLq version of Hardy's Theorem on nilpotent Lie groups, Forum Math. 18 (2006) 245-262], we proved for 2?p,q?+∞ the LpLq version of Hardy's Theorem known as the Cowling-Price Theorem. In the setup where 1?p,q?+∞, the problem is still unsolved and the upshot is known only for few cases. We prove in this paper such a result in the context of 2-NPC nilpotent Lie groups. A proof of the analogue of Beurling's Theorem is also provided in the same context.  相似文献

In the spirit of an earlier result of D. Müller on the Heisenberg group we prove a restriction theorem on a certain class of two step nilpotent Lie groups. Our result extends that of Müller also in the framework of the Heisenberg group.  相似文献

We study Riesz transforms associated with a sublaplacian H on a solvable Lie group G, where G has polynomial volume growth. It is known that the standard second order Riesz transforms corresponding to H are generally unbounded in Lp(G). In this paper, we establish boundedness in Lp for modified second order Riesz transforms, which are defined using derivatives on a nilpotent group GN associated with G. Our method utilizes a new algebraic approach which associates a distinguished choice of Cartan subalgebra with the sublaplacian H. We also obtain estimates for higher derivatives of the heat kernel of H, and give a new proof (without the use of homogenization theory) of the boundedness of first order Riesz transforms. Our results can be generalized to an arbitrary (possibly non-solvable) Lie group of polynomial growth.  相似文献

We review the theory of strongly elliptic operators on Lie groups and describe some new simplifications. Let U be a continuous representation of a Lie group G on a Banach space and a 1,...,a d a basis of the Lie algebra g of G. Let A i=dU(a i) denote the infinitesimal generator of the continuous one-parameter group t U(exp(-ta i)) and set % MathType!MTEF!2!1!+-% feaafeart1ev1aaatCvAUfeBSjuyZL2yd9gzLbvyNv2CaerbuLwBLn% hiov2DGi1BTfMBaeXatLxBI9gBaerbd9wDYLwzYbItLDharqqtubsr% 4rNCHbGeaGqiVu0Je9sqqrpepC0xbbL8F4rqaqFfpeea0df9GqVa0-% aq0dXdarVe0-yr0RYxir-dbba9q8aq0-qq-He9q8qqQ8fq0-vr0-vr% Y-bdbiqaaeGaciGaaiaabeqaamaabaabaaGcbaGaamyqamaaCaaale% qajeaObaGaeyySdegaaOGaeyypa0JaamyqamaaBaaajeaWbaGaaeyA% aaWcbeaajaaOdaWgaaqcbaAaamaaBaaajiaObaGaaiiBaaqabaaaje% aObeaakiaacElacaGG3cGaai4TaiaadgeadaWgaaqcbaCaaiaabMga% aSqabaGcdaWgaaWcbaWaaSbaaKGaahaacaGGUbaameqaaaWcbeaaaa% a!4897!\[A^\alpha = A_{\rm{i}} _{_l } \cdot\cdot\cdotA_{\rm{i}} _{_n } \], where =(i 1,...,i n) with j and set ||=n. We construct a family of simply connected 2-step nilpotent Lie groups of higher rank such that every geodesic lies in a flat. These are as Riemannian manifolds irreducible and arise from real representations of compact Lie algebras. Moreover we show that groups of Heisenberg type do not even infinitesimally have higher rank. Received: 2 July 2001 / Revised version: 19 October 2001  相似文献

For each compact Lie algebra ? and each real representation V of ? we consider a two-step nilpotent Lie group N(?,V), endowed with a natural left-invariant riemannian metric. The homogeneous nilmanifolds so obtained are precisely those which are naturally reductive. We study some geometric aspects of these manifolds, finding many parallels with H-type groups. We also obtain, within the class of manifolds N(?,V), the first examples of non-weakly symmetric, naturally reductive spaces and new examples of non-commutative naturally reductive spaces. Let K be a compact Lie group acting by automorphisms on a nilpotent Lie group N. One calls (K, N) a Gelfand pair when the integrable K-invariant functions on N form a commutative algebra under convolution. We prove that in this case the coadjoint orbits for G:= K × N which meet the annihilator of the Lie algebra of K do so in single K-orbits. This generalizes a result of the authors and R. Lipsman concerning Gelfand pairs associated with Heisenberg groups.  相似文献

We consider a properly converging sequence of non-characters in the dual space of a thread-like group and investigate the limit set and the strength with which the sequence converges to each of its limits. We show that, if (π k ) is a properly convergent sequence of non-characters in , then there is a trade-off between the number of limits σ which are not characters, their degrees, and the strength of convergence i σ to each of these limits (Theorem 3.2). This enables us to describe various possibilities for maximal limit sets consisting entirely of non-characters (Theorem 4.6). In Sect. 5, we show that if (π k ) is a properly converging sequence of non-characters in and if the limit set contains a character then the intersection of the set of characters (which is homeomorphic to ) with the limit set has at most two components. In the case of two components, each is a half-plane. In Theorem 7.7, we show that if a sequence has a character as a cluster point then, by passing to a properly convergent subsequence and then a further subsequence, it is possible to find a real null sequence (c k ) (with ) such that, for a in the Pedersen ideal of C *(G N ), exists (not identically zero) and is given by a sum of integrals over .  相似文献

An abstract version of concentration compactness on Hilbert spaces applies to to actions of non-compact Lie groups. Using the concentration compactness argument we prove existence of solutions for semilinear problems involving sub-Laplacians on the whole Lie group and on their cer-tain non-compact subsets, including minimizers for Sobolev inequalities. The result is stated for any real connected finite-dimensional Lie group.  相似文献

LetG be a (not necessarily connected) real Lie group with reductive Lie algebra. We consider representations ofG which some call admissible but we call them of Harish-Chandra type. We show that any nontempered irreducible Harish-Chandra type representation ofG is infinitesimally equivalent to the Langlands quotient obtained from an essentially unique triple (M, V, ) of Langlands data; while for tempered irreducible Harish-Chandra type representations we prove they are infinitesimally subrepresentations of some induced representations UV, with imaginary and withV from the quasi-discrete series of a suitableM (perhapsG=M; we define the quasi-discrete series in Definition 4.5 of this paper. We show that irreducible continuous unitary representations of really reductive groups are of Harish-Chandra type. Then the results above yield the canonical decomposition of the unitary spectrum>G for any really reductiveG. In particular, this holds ifG/G 0 is finite, so the center of the connected semi-simple subgroup with Lie algebra [g, g] may be infinite!Research supported, in part, by the Hungarian National Fund for Scientific Research (grant Nos. 1900 and 2648).  相似文献

G. Choquet and J. Deny have characterized the positive solutions of the convolution equation *= of measures on locally compact abelian groups, for a given positive measure . By elementary methods, we extend their characterization to locally compact nilpotent groups which complements the various existing results on the equation, and we work out the solutions explicitly for the Heisenberg groups and some nilpotent matrix groups, by finding all the exponential functions on these groups.  相似文献
