A multiplexed holographic display video has been achieved by using a passive azo-dye-doped liquid crystal (LC) cell. Holograms formed in this cell can be refreshed in the order of several milliseconds. By angular multiplexing technique, dynamically multiplexed holographic videos are realized. Moreover, the reconstructed RGB images are merged into a color image, which illustrates the possibility of a color holographic three-dimensional (3D) display by holographic multiplexing of the LC cell. 相似文献

Two-photon holographic photopolymerization was used to form switchable Bragg gratings composed of layers of phase-separated
liquid-crystal (LC) domains interspersed with cured, crosslinked polymer. These holographic polymer-dispersed liquid crystals
form a periodic structure which diffracts red light due to nanostructured planes ∼250 nm in spacing. These structures were
formed by interfering two 90-fs pulses coherently upon a reactive syrup consisting of acrylate monomer, liquid crystal, and
a two-photon dye. The large two-photon cross-section allows excitation of the two-photon dye that results in electron transfer
between this dye and the monomer. Diffraction efficiencies of approximately 10% were obtained, which can be modulated using
an electric field applied across the film. Switching speeds below 1 ms were observed due in part to the small size of the
LC domains.

全息光存储以其高密度、大容量、高速并行数据存取而成为光存储领域的一个重要研究方向。生物光致变色材料———菌紫质是一种新型可擦重写全息记录介质。实验证明了使用菌紫质薄膜进行角度复用和偏振复用全息存储的可行性。利用菌紫质的光致变色特性,采用90°角度复用全息存储光路,在BR-D96N薄膜样品同一位置上实现了6幅全息图存储,并分别读出了无串扰的再现像。利用菌紫质薄膜的光致各向异性进行了偏振复用全息存储,在BR-D96N薄膜样品的同一位置上存储了两幅正交偏振光记录的图像,用原参考光再现和偏振片选择,可分别读出这两幅图像。 相似文献

Optical compensation film using discotic liquid crystals has been commercialized to suppress light leakage of twisted nematic (TN) liquid crystal (LC) cells in the dark state when the viewing directions are off-axes. In the conventional film, the tilt angle variation of the discotic LC layers is linear, whereas that of the rod-like LC layers in the TN cell is non-linear with twist alignment. We investigated the optical compensation effects in terms of iso-contrast ratio, gray scale inversion and color shift with linear and non-linear orientation in a tilt angle or twist and non-twist orientation on TN-LC cells. The results showed that the optical compensation with non-linear orientation exhibited an improved performance in suppressing light leakage in the dark state. 相似文献

A full-vector finite-element beam propagation method in 3-D is introduced for the simulation of light propagation in liquid
crystal (LC) devices. The three electric field components are expressed in terms of mixed finite elements, providing the correct
enforcement of boundary conditions. Moreover, the optical dielectric tensor of the medium can have all its nine elements nonzero,
thus allowing the LC director to have an arbitrary orientation. A photonic crystal fiber with a LC infiltrated core and a
homeotropic to multi-domain cell are analyzed. Comparison with other existing simulation techniques is provided, in order

This work presents a novel optical holographic encrypted data storage approach based on a phase encoding multiplexed scheme.
In the proposed data storage scheme, patterns to be encrypted are stored holographically in a photorefractive LiNbO3:Fe crystal using a lenticular lens array (LLA) sheet phase-encoded multiplexing. Experimental results reveal that rotating
an LLA placed as a phase modulator in the path of the reference beam is a simple but effective method of increasing the phase
addresses for holographic memory in a crystal. Combining this rotational multiplexing with two-axis rotating multiplexing

为了提高聚合物/液晶(HPDLC)光栅的衍射效率并改善光栅的表面形貌,研究了表面垂直取向处理对HPDLC光栅的影响。首先,研究了表面垂直处理对液晶分子的取向作用,发现垂直取向层对液晶的锚定作用随着盒厚的增加而逐渐减弱,取向层的作用范围大概在3 m ~5 m之间;其次,对相分离程度进行了实验表征,结果表明,随着液晶盒厚度的增加,相分离开始的时间越来越快,并且分离程度也越来越彻底。最后,讨论了表面垂直取向对HPDLC光栅衍射效率的影响,随着盒厚的增加,相分离出来的液晶微滴形成连续的区域,光栅的衍射效率逐渐升高,当盒厚增加到一定程度,其衍射效率和无取向处理的光栅接近。当盒厚过大时,垂直取向处理对HPDLC光栅散射损失并没有太大的改善,只有当盒厚适中(12 m)时,光栅的衍射效率最高,散射损失最小。 相似文献

Gray-level data pages enhance the storage capacity of holographic data storage systems. A balanced three gray-scale data page in phase mode produces a homogenized Fourier spectrum which is regarded to be necessary for suitable exploitation of the holographic recording medium. A commercially available transmission type twisted nematic liquid crystal display has been characterized for use as a phase spatial light modulator with phase modulation in the range 0–3π/2 at 532 nm wavelength, such that it may be used for holographic data storage with binary as well as three gray-level phase-modulated data pages. Experimental results of the phase and amplitude modulation characteristics of the SLM, Fourier plane homogeneity, and recording of phase-modulated binary, three gray-level data pages and their reconstruction with a real-time holographic interferometric method are presented. 相似文献

We present an holographic memory optical arrangement based on the successive shifting of a random pure-phase mask to achieve encrypted images multiplexing. The input images are encrypted to a stationary white noise using the usual double random encoding in the Fresnel domain. The encrypted information is imaged in a photorefractive crystal where also a reference beam impinges. In the holographic memory, a BSO crystal is used to provide both a recording medium and a phase conjugate mirror. The combination of these two features supplies at the same time the necessary exact cancellation of the random pure-phase mask as well as allows a real-time decryption process. Successive images are encrypted and position-encoded by speckle patterns arising from the random pure-phase mask in-plane shifting between exposures. We include experimental results to corroborate the multiplexing capability and the read-out fidelity of the proposed arrangement. 相似文献

The transmission spectra of polarized light waves in a photonic crystal/liquid crystal (PC/LC) cell placed between crossed
polarizers and controlled by an electric or magnetic field have been studied experimentally and theoretically. Electro- and
magneto-optical switching based on the interference of polarized defect modes has been demonstrated. The transmission spectra
of the PC/LC cell have been calculated as a function of the voltage applied to the LC layer and the magnetic field strength.

A new technique to uniformly align liquid crystal molecules is presented. The technique is based on producing an anisotropic surface on the glass substrate coated with photo-polymers by photo-polymerization of linear polarized UV-light. The orientation of liquid crystal molecules is governed by the direction of the polarized vector of UV-light. Using this method, we have studied the photo-polymer PSi-CM aligning LC 6710A molecules. The liquid crystal microscopic texture between crossed polarizers, optical retardation from liquid crystal layers and electro-optical properties of twisted nematic liquid crystal display cell are obtained, which was prepared with one side -photo-alignment and the other side-rebbed substrate. 相似文献

We present a procedure to obtain the physical parameters responsible of twisted nematic liquid crystal (LC) cells optical modulation. The novelty of our approach is based on the use of spectroscopic measurements of the light transmitted by the system polarizer-LC cell-analyzer, combined with a previously proposed simple physical model of the LC twist and tilt distribution along cell. The procedure involves two steps: the first one yields off-state parameters like the LC director orientation, the twist angle, and the optical path difference (cell gap); the second step yields the effective retardances of the central and edge LC layers. The use of a spectroscopic method provides a full characterization of the LC cell as a function of both the voltage and the wavelength. The complete procedure leads to a very accurate prediction of the transmitted light broadband spectrum, as well as the complex (amplitude and phase) modulation for any wavelength within the calibration range. 相似文献

The results of studies that have been performed over the last decade in the field of development of silver halide and nonsilver holographic recording media of organic and inorganic origin are analyzed. It is shown that previously developed materials mainly allow the development of holographic investigations. Among irreversible materials, considerable progress has been made in improving the characteristics of photopolymerizable recording media, which has allowed their use in color image holography and 3D optical archive-type memory, as well as for fabricating holographic optical elements. In the field of improving the properties of reversible holographic recording media, practically significant results have been obtained for the creation of photoanisotropic materials based on azo dyes experiencing cis–trans photoisomerization, which allow the recording of polarization holograms. The needs of dynamic holography have been satisfied by lightsensitive doped inorganic crystals and polymer layers that have been created with nonlinear optical properties. 相似文献

A new method of the holographic lateral shearing interferometry is considered. In the method, the recording of the reference holographic lateral shear interferogram is followed by the displacement of an object under study by a distance equal to the lateral shear. The method provides the simultaneous recording of several aberration-free interference patterns representing with the different sensitivity the changes in the phase of the light wave, introduced by the object under study. We investigate the fluorescence emission properties of dye-doped nematic liquid crystal (LC) cells with planar and zigzag emissive layers. To explain the measured angular dependence of the emitted light (emission pattern), we introduce a simple optical model, in which both planar and zigzag emissive layers are approximated as a homogeneously oriented flat LC layer with an equivalent anisotropy. It was revealed that all the measured emission patterns under different LC molecular orientation conditions agree well with the optical model, whereas the conventional Lambertian-based distribution function does not coincide with the measured profile in homeotropically aligned LC cells. 相似文献

A new method for coherent superbroadband sounding of a semitransparent substance with the aim to construct a three-dimensional image of its inner structure is proposed and justified. The method is based on irradiating the studied medium with a plane ray, spectral analysis by the two-dimensional Fresnel–Fourier transform, interferometric comparison of spatial spectra of scattered and reference signals, and holographic construction of a series of two-dimensional images of the medium followed by tomographic reconstruction of its three-dimensional image. The stochastic image model has been justified in a coherent approach for the first time both in the region of high frequencies and after the transfer of the radiation spectrum to the lowfrequency range of spatial frequencies to the surface of the radiation recorder. The spectral correlation characteristics of the speckle structure of the reconstructed image have been studied. Calculations and investigations of the spread function of the structure implementing the proposed method have been carried out. 相似文献
