The separation of C60 and C70 fullerenes on four different polysiloxane stationary phases was examined. It was determined that polar solvents can be used as mobile phases effectively for the separation of fullerene molecules. Unlike previously published work, a polymeric octadecyl siloxane (ODS) stationary phase provided higher separation factors for C70/C60 than did monomeric ODS stationary phases or phenyl substituted stationary phases. For example, for a methanol-diethyl ether (50:50, v/v) mobile phase and C60, k' approximately 5.0 separation factors, alpha = 3.3, were achieved with polymeric ODS compared to alpha = 2.2, with a monomeric ODS stationary phase. A linear solvation energy relationship (LSER) was used to model the importance of solvent interactions and stationary phase interaction to solute retention.  相似文献

Two charge-transfer stationary phases were prepared by immobilizing p-nitrobenzoic acid and naphthyl acetic acid onto silica. The nitrophenyl moiety and the naphthyl moiety were grafted to silica gel through the spacer of aminoalkyl silanes. The HPLC separation of C60, C70, and higher fullerenes on the new stationary phases was also studied. The influence of mobile phase and column temperature on the separation of C60 and C70 was examined, respectively. The retentions of C60 and C70 on the two stationary phases increased with decreasing toluene content in the mobile phase or with increasing column temperature. Higher fullerenes can be separated well using toluene as the mobile phase on the stationary phase of p-nitrobenzoic acid-bonded silica.  相似文献

A novel immobilization method was proposed for the preparation of pyrenebutyric acid-bonded silica (PYB-silica) stationary phases. The pyrene moiety was grafted to silica gel through spacers of aminoalkyl silanes. The HPLC separation of C60, C70 and higher fullerenes on the new pyrenebutyric acid-bonded silica stationary phases was also studied. Based on the temperature effect, the intermolecular interaction between stationary phases and solutes and the retention mechanism were discussed. The results of column loading capacity test demonstrated the potential for the separation of fullerenes in large amounts on the PYB-silica stationary phases.  相似文献

制备了用于分离C60和C70的2,4,6-三硝基苯酚改性锆镁复合氧化物高效液相色谱固定相,并用元素分析仪、红外光谱仪和比表面积分析仪等对其进行了表征。考察了流动相中甲苯含量和柱温对C60和C70分离的影响。同时考察了以甲苯为流动相,在348 K的柱温下,该固定相分离富勒烯混合物(含3%高富勒烯)的情况。结果表明,2,4,6-三硝基苯酚改性锆镁复合氧化物固定相对富勒烯有较强的保留,并表现出较强的温度关系,提高柱温能提高固定相对富勒烯的分离能力,并具有用于富勒烯制备分离的潜力。  相似文献

A novel method was proposed for the preparation of pyrenebutyric acid-modified magnesia-zirconia stationary phases. Pyrenebutyric acid was grafted to magnesia-zirconia composites with different pore sizes via the sodium salt of cis-(3-methyloxiranyl)phosphonic acid (fosfomycin) as spacers. Aminated fosfomycin was first absorbed onto the surface of magnesia-zirconia composites during the preliminary step to provide amino and hydroxy reactive sites. And then the pyrenebutyric acid was covalently attached to the amine or hydroxyl groups via amide or ester bonds. The resulting stationary phases were characterized by elemental analysis, diffused reflectance FT-IR, nitrogen adsorption analysis and 13C solid state NMR spectra. The HPLC separation of fullerenes on the new stationary phases with different pore sizes was also investigated. The chromatographic performance showed a dependence on the pore size of the magnesia-zirconia matrix. Little retention of fullerenes was observed on the stationary phase with pore sizes about 4.5 nm. However, on the modified magnesia-zirconia with pore sizes about 10 nm, selectivity factors (α) for C70/C60 separation were determined to be 1.76, 2.29, 2.41, 3.10, with carbon disulfide, chlorobenzene, xylene and toluene as mobile phases, respectively. And the high solubility of fullerenes in these solvents dramatically increased the overall potential with regard to preparative fullerene purification. Among the reported stationary phases with pyrene ligands, the pyrenebutyric acid-modified magnesia-zirconia (PYB-F-(ZrO2-MgO)) with larger pore sizes exhibited the best selectivity for fullerenes. The thermodynamic and kinetic behavior of fullerenes was also examined.  相似文献

Cerium oxide (CeO2) was tested as a packing material in liquid chromatography for the separation of C60 and C70 fullerenes. The separation of C60 and C70 fullerenes could be achieved within 20 min by using pure n-hexane as the mobile phase. Furthermore, some higher fullerenes could also be separated in less than 40 min. The peak area was reproducible to a large extent. The separation of fullerenes by liquid chromatography on CeO2 is shown to be an effective method for their isolation in large amounts. The column efficiency of the CeO2 column was compared with commercial silica gel and ODS columns. The main advantage of the CeO2 column is its ability to separate large amounts of fullerenes (C60 and C70) in toluene.  相似文献

The chemical character, geometry, and architecture of chemically formed surface layers determine interactions between stationary phase, analyte, and mobile phase, and therefore the retention mechanisms (partitioning, adsorption, ion exchange, steric exclusion) of separated analytes. These interactions also depend on the structure and chemical character of the solutes and the composition of the mobile phase. High-molecular-weight fullerenes (C60 and C70) and water-soluble selenium-containing peptides (833 and 2607 Da) were used for the evaluation of laboratory-prepared octadecyl stationary phases with high and low coverage density before and after end-capping. The aim of this work was to study differences in surface coverage density and homogeneity and conformational changes of chemically bonded moieties and the influence of these parameters on the separation of mixtures of selenopeptides and fullerenes with significantly different molecular masses. Comprehensive two-dimensional (2D) HPLC in the reversed-phase liquid chromatography (RPLC) mode using C18 silica monolith columns at first dimension (1st-D) (10 cm x 4.6mm I.D.) and second dimension (2nd-D) (5 cm x 4.6mm I.D.) was carried out successfully. A mixture of water and tetrahydrofuran (THF) was used as a mobile phase in the 1st-D separation, and a mixture of water and methanol (CH3OH) in the 2nd-D separation. Sample fractions from 1st-D column were directly loaded into an injection loop of the 2nd-D HPLC equipped with two injector valves for one column. The fractionation time at the 1st-D that was equal to the separation time at the 2nd-D was 45 or 60s. Total peak capacity up to 900 was obtained in about 60 min for the isocratic mode separation of aromatic compounds in this system. Gradient elution mode applied to both 1st-D and 2nd-D separations resulted in shorter separation time and better separation efficiencies than the isocratic mode. It was demonstrated that 2D-HPLC systems employing popular C18 stationary phases with different organic modifiers in mobile phases for each dimension could produce large peak capacity. The different selectivities were provided by the difference in polar interactions between a solute and the organic modifier existing in the stationary phase.  相似文献

The temperature effect on the separation of fullerenes in LC was examined using monomeric type C30, C18 and C8 alkyl bonded stationary phases. It appears that the C30 phase exhibits superior separation ability for fullerenes. It is observed that the maximum retention temperature of fullerenes on the C30 phase is around 20 degrees C. A strong correlation between the changes in NMR spectra and the retention behavior of the solutes was found. The interpretation of the retention behavior of fullerenes on the alkyl bonded stationary phases, including the behavior in subambient temperature, is discussed using the information obtained by CP-MAS solid-state NMR spectroscopy and LC.  相似文献

In this paper the pulse thermovision (photothermal) detection and quantification methods of C60 and C70 fullerenes are presented. Quantification results are compared with optical and fluorescence measurements. Target components were separated under isothermal conditions (30 °C) on micro-TLC plates (RP18WF254S) using n-hexane as the mobile phase. The principle of described analytical protocol is based on sensitive measurement of the temperature contrast generated within TLC stationary phase and fullerenes spots after white light pulse excitation. It has been demonstrated that observed temperature contrast is mainly driven by the optical properties of fullerenes (UV–vis absorption spectra). Contrary to the commonly applied optical reflection or transmission techniques the proposed thermovision method involves dissipated light. The results of presented experimental work have revealed that both types of quantitative measurements provide similar outcome despite the key differences in the signal origin. However, it has been found that thermovision method was characterized by smaller value of LOD, particularly for C60 molecule. We demonstrated that application of correlation technique to post-acquisition analysis of the sequence of temperature contrast images significantly increase detection limits of fullerenes, even in comparison to fluorescence quenching detection mode. Moreover, the thermal contrast images and particularly, computed correlation image, allow detection of stationary phase layer nonuniformities, including changes in the adsorbent thickness and thermal conductivity. Therefore, invented pulsed thermovision methodology can be additionally used for fast quality screening of home made and commercially available TLC plates.  相似文献

Analytical methods for eight tetracyclines (TCs) were established using silica gel high-performance thin-layer chromatography (HPTLC), reversed-phase thin-layer chromatography (RP-TLC) and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Good separations of eight TCs were obtained using chloroform-methanol-5% disodium ethylenediaminetetraacetate solution (65:20:5) (lower layer) and methanol acetonitrile 0.5 M oxalic acid solution (1:1:4) (pH 3.0) on silica gel HPTLC and C8 TLC plates, respectively. A combination of HPTLC and RP-TLC made possible the identification of the eight TCs. Each calibration graph was linear between 0.1 and 1.0 microgram using UV densitometry except for rolitetracycline. For detection reagents, the diazonium salts including Fast Violet B gave variously coloured spots with the eight TCs and good sensitivities were obtained except with minocycline. In HPLC, the simultaneous analysis of the eight TCs on a C8 column was possible using methanol-acetonitrile-0.01 M oxalic acid solution (1:1.5:7) adjusted to pH 3.0 as the mobile phase. A linear relationship was obtained between 1.0 and 10 ng using the usual sample preparation except for rolitetracycline. The direct determination of rolitetracycline was possible using tetrahydrofuran, dimethyl sulphoxide and the mobile phase as solvents for preparation of the sample. For the determination of residual rolitetracycline, it was effective to measure the amount of rolitetracycline as tetracycline by HPLC, HPTLC and RP-TLC after conversion of rolitetracycline to tetracycline by incubating for 5 min in methanol at 50 degrees C.  相似文献

A method for “Sock-Bail” chromatographic separation of high molecular weight fullerenes is described. A prepared sock-shaped stationary phase (Sock-SAF-phase) was used for HPLC separation of several polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and fullerenes. Fullerenes, as ball-shaped molecules, are much more strongly retained than PAHs on this stationary phase and have the eluted order C50 < C70 < C76 < C78 < C84 in the mobile phase of n-hexane/dichloromethane (100/0 ~ 80/20). In contrast, chromatography on the corresponding unmodified silica phase or SC-3OH-phase (an intermediate phase of Sock-SAF-phase) gave no separation of fullerenes. This fact indicated that the separation of fullerenes on Sock-SAF-phase was related to the selective interaction with the sock moiety.  相似文献

The influence of temperature on the retention and separation of C60 and C70 fullerenes was studied under HPLC conditions. Particularly, chromatographic experiments were conducted using moderate carbon loaded octadecylsilica stationary phase and homologous series of n-alkanes including n-pentane, n-hexane and n-heptane as the mobile phases. All studies were performed across wide range of subambient temperature from −80 to +20 °C. From practical point of view the best chromatographic conditions for baseline separation of the components of interest were selected. The retention of analytes was strongly affected by temperature and below minus 30 °C strong deviation from van't Hoff behavior was observed. To explore this phenomenon selected thermodynamic parameters including changes of enthalpy (ΔHo) and changes of entropy (ΔSo) were estimated. Positive values of the ΔHo and ΔSo at low temperature region may indicate the lack of the interaction with the stationary phase ligands. A possible retention mechanism at different temperatures for C60 and C70 molecules has been discussed.  相似文献

This paper describes validated high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and high-performance thin-layer chromatography (HPTLC) methods for the simultaneous estimation of pantoprazole (PANT) and domperidone (DOM) in pure powder and capsule formulations. The HPLC separation was achieved on a Phenomenex C18 column (250 mm id, 4.6 mm, 5 pm) using 0.01 M, 6.5 pH ammonium acetate buffer-methanol-acetonitrile (30 + 40 + 30, v/v/v, pH 7.20) as the mobile phase at a flow rate of 1.0 mL/min at ambient temperature. The HPTLC separation was achieved on an aluminum-backed layer of silica gel 60F254 using ethyl acetate-methanol (60 + 40, v/v) as the mobile phase. Quantification was achieved with ultraviolet (UV) detection at 287 nm over the concentration range 400-4000 and 300-3000 ng/mL with mean recovery of 99.35+/-0.80 and 99.08+/-0.57% for PANT and DOM, respectively (HPLC method). Quantification was achieved with UV detection at 287 nm over the concentration range 80-240 and 60-180 ng/spot with mean recovery of 98.40+/-0.67 and 98.75+/-0.71% for PANT and DOM, respectively (HPTLC method). These methods are simple, precise, and sensitive, and they are applicable for the simultaneous determination of PANT and DOM in pure powder and capsule formulations.  相似文献

The effects of starvation at 4, 7, 10, 14, and 20 days on the amino acid content of Biomphalaria glabrata was determined by high performance thin layer chromatography (HPTLC)-densitometry. Cultures of control and starved snails were prepared for each duration of time. Samples were extracted using ethanol-water (70:30), and supernatant was collected after multiple centrifugations. Samples and standards were applied as bands using a CAMAG Linomat 4 onto cellulose HPTLC plates and developed in a 2-butanol-pyridine-acetic acid-water (39:34:10:26) mobile phase before spraying with ninhydrin detection reagent and scanning with a CAMAG 3 scanner to quantify ornithine (Orn), glycine (Gly), alanine (Ala), valine (Val), and leucine (Leu). Amino acid identification was confirmed by HPTLC on silica gel plates and RP-18?W plates using two different mobile phases causing inversion of the separation mechanism. Starvation led to an overall decrease in amino acid content in comparison to the control snails, however, the amount of amino acids in the starved snails had no correlation with the duration of starvation.  相似文献

Fullerenes C60 and C70, generated by combustion, have been shown previously to be produced in controlled laminar flames accompanied by other compounds having fullerene-like characteristics. Analysis of these additional compounds by high-performance liquid chromatography, coupled on-line with mass spectrometry has identified them as isomers of the C60 and C70 fullerenes. The newly observed isomers have characteristic UV spectra and are thermally unstable, undergoing conversion to the more stable fullerenes with a half-life of about 1 h in boiling toluene (111 degrees C). Isomers of C60 and C70 fullerenes previously have been studied theoretically, but not observed experimentally. The flame-generated material also contains C60O and C70O compounds, as well as C76 and higher carbon clusters.  相似文献

This article describes a construction of a simple developing device designed for temperature control of thin-layer chromatographic plates. The plates can be developed by the ascending technique under temperature gradient or non-gradient conditions. Saturated or unsaturated chamber conditions can be easily selected. The effects that give rise to pseudo-non-linear Van't Hoff plots, e.g. a temperature irregularity inside the chamber or heat evolving during solvent adsorption near the migrating front of the mobile phase are minimized. The preliminary temperature-retention studies show that the device is suitable for temperatures ranging from -20 to 60 degrees C. Using a binary mobile phase mixture (methanol-water, 70:30, v/v) the velocity of the mobile phase front on the HPTLC RP-18W plates at different temperatures was investigated. Under these conditions the retention profiles of four natural estrogens (estetrol, estriol, 17beta-estradiol and estrone) were examined. The application of the described device for temperature-retention studies is also discussed.  相似文献
