Electrostatics,the Chemical Bond and Molecular Stability

Electrostatic models of the chemical bond are based on the Virial Theorem and hold promise for providing a reliable and accurate method for predicting heats of formation of molecules and free radicals. The Principle of Alternating Polarity which states that those compounds are most stable in which atoms of opposite polarity are bonded is shown to be quantitatively described by electrostatic models. Current fixed partial-charge models account for ΔH of hydrocarbon molecules and radicals. With inclusion of polarization effects, whose energies are small, they also account for the dipole moments in hydrocarbons. A brief account is given of a more general model with significant polarization interaction which is under development and which appears to be able to account for both ΔH and dipole moments of polar molecules.

利用化学反应吉布斯自由能变化?_rG_m~?来计算无机化学"四大平衡"的平衡常数,解释诸如沉淀-溶解平衡教学中为什么要求微溶强电解质等问题,并从化学反应等温式类推了电极反应的等温式,推导了复杂电极的标准电极电势与其简单电极的标准电极电势之间的关系,拓展了热力学在现行基础化学教学上的应用范围。     

Numerical Simulation of Chemical Equilibria and Photostationary States Using Spectrophotometric and Spectrofluorometric Data

A mathematical model describing series of experimental absorption and fluorescence spectra of multicomponent systems via equilibrium and photostationary concentrations of components of the systems was constructed. With photostationary concentrations, it is possible to take into account changes in the fluorescence spectra resulting from photochemical reactions. Ther unknown equilibrium and kinetic parameters of the model and also the spectra of pure components are found from experimental data by the nonlinear least-squares method. A software for the model was developed, and its applicability to the determination of the composition of multicomponent systems, resolution of the spectra of pure components, and determination of equilibrium and kinetic constants was demonstrated.__________Translated from Zhurnal Obshchei Khimii, Vol. 75, No. 3, 2005, pp. 386–394.Original Russian Text Copyright © 2005 by Rusalov.

Ba-K-Bi-O (BKBO)超导体的导电性和超导性各向同性,相干长度长,制备温度低,因此它有良好的应用前景.但在BKBO超导器件走向实用化时,还必须了解它在环境介质中的化学稳定性,以便采取相应的保护措施.本文目的就是研究BKBO在各种介质中的稳定性及其作用机理.用电化学法在BKBO膜上制成了聚毗咯((PPy)和聚唾吩((PTh)膜,为BKBO超导器件的保护提供了新思路.
