Let σ(k, n) be the smallest even integer such that each n-term positive graphic sequence with term sum at least σ(k, n) can be realized by a graph containing a clique of k + 1 vertices. Erdos et al. (Graph Theory, 1991, 439-449) conjectured that σ(k, n) = (k - 1)(2n- k) + 2. Li et al. (Science in China, 1998, 510-520) proved that the conjecture is true for k 〉 5 and n ≥ (k2) + 3, and raised the problem of determining the smallest integer N(k) such that the conjecture holds for n ≥ N(k). They also determined the values of N(k) for 2 ≤ k ≤ 7, and proved that [5k-1/2] ≤ N(k) ≤ (k2) + 3 for k ≥ 8. In this paper, we determine the exact values of σ(k, n) for n ≥ 2k+3 and k ≥ 6. Therefore, the problem of determining σ(k, n) is completely solved. In addition, we prove as a corollary that N(k) -= [5k-1/2] for k ≥6.  相似文献

Let Un be the unit polydisc of Cn and φ= (φ1,...,φn? a holomorphic self-map of Un. Let 0≤α< 1. This paper shows that the composition operator Cφ, is bounded on the Lipschitz space Lipa(Un) if and only if there exists M > 0 such thatfor z∈Un. LetG=H p (H k n ) be the (2n+1)-dimensional Heisenberg group over local fieldK. In this paper we prove some theorems about convolution operators onH p (G) and vector-valued Hardy spaces. As an example, the distribution for some φ∈S(G), ξ φ=0 is a ramified 0-type kernel. These results can be applied to characterizeH p (G) spaces by square functions.  相似文献

Ifμ is a positive measure, andA 2, ...,A n are measurable sets, the sequencesS 0, ...,S n andP [0], ...,P [n] are related by the inclusion-exclusion equalities. Inequalities among theS i are based on the obviousP [k]≧0. Letting =the average average measure of the intersection ofk of the setsA i , it is shown that (−1) k Δ k M i ≧0 fori+kn. The casek=1 yields Fréchet’s inequalities, andk=2 yields Gumbel’s and K. L. Chung’s inequalities. Generalizations are given involvingk-th order divided differences. Using convexity arguments, it is shown that forS 0=1, whenS 1N−1, and for 1≦k<Nn andv=0, 1, .... Asymptotic results asn → ∞ are obtained. In particular it is shown that for fixedN, for all sequencesM 0, ...,M n of sufficiently large length if and only if for 0<t<1.  相似文献

Some applications of θ(t) for an ideal gas enclosed in the general annular bounded domain Ω are given. Further results are also obtained.  相似文献

Summary Consider the equation(1.2) in which a1, a2, ..., an−1 are constants and the functions fn(x) and p(t) (both continuous) together with are all bodnded. A recent investigation by Reissig[1] shows that if fn(x)sgn x>0 (|x|≥h>0) then subject to certain conditions, which are stated explicitly in[1], the solutions of such an equation(1.2) are all ultimately bounded The object of the psesent paper is to generalize that result to the equation(1.1) in which φn is a bounded function depending on all the variables shown, and each coefficient ϕi (i=2,3,..., n−1) satisfies as |ζ|→∞ for some constant ai. We observe an unknown function of infinitely many variables f = f(t), t = (t1, ..., tn, ... ) ∈, [0, 1], in the Gaussian white noise of level ε > 0. We suppose that in each variable there exists a 1-periodical σ-smooth extension of the function f(t) to IR . Taking a quantity σ > 0 and a positive sequence a = {ak}, we consider the set that consists of functions f such that . We consider the cases ak = kα and ak = exp(λk), α > 0, λ > 0. We would like to estimate a function f ∈ or to test the null hypothesis H0: f = 0 against the alternatives f ∈ , where the set consists of functions f ∈ such that ∥f∥2 ≥ r. In the estimation problem, we obtain the asymptotics (as ε → 0) of the minimax quadratic risk. In the detection problem, we study the sharp asymptotics of minimax separation rates f ɛ * that provide distiguishability in the problems. Let M n = X 1 + ⋯ + X n be a sum of independent random variables such that X k ⩽ 1, and EX k 2 = σ k 2 for all k. Hoeffding [15, Theorem 3] proved that

. Bentkus [5] improved Hoeffding’s inequalities using binomial tails as upper bounds. Let and stand for the skewness and kurtosis of X k . In this paper we prove (improved) counterparts of the Hoeffding inequality replacing σ 2 by certain functions of γ 1, ..., γ n (respectively ϰ1, ..., ϰ1). Our bounds extend to a general setting where X k are martingale differences, and they can combine the knowledge of skewness and/or kurtosis and/or variances of X k . Up to factors bounded by e 2/2 the bounds are final. All our results are new since no inequalities incorporating skewness or kurtosis control are known so far. The asymptotic expansion for small |t| of the trace of the wave kernel ∧↑μ(t) =∑v=1^∞exp(-it μv^1/2), where i= √-1 and {μv}v=1^∞ are the eigenvalues of the negative Laplacian -△=-∑β=1^2(δ/δx^β)^2 in the (x^1, x^2)-plane, is studied for a multi-connected vibrating membrane Ω in R^2 surrounded by simply connected bounded domains Ωj with smooth boundaries δΩj(j=1,...,n), where a finite number of piecewise smooth Robin boundary conditions on the piecewise smooth components Гi(i=1 κj-1,...,κj) of the boundaries δΩj are considered, such that δΩj=∪i=1 κj-1^κj Гi and κ0=0. The basic problem is to extract information on the geometry of Ω using the wave equation approach. Some geometric quantities of Ω (e.g. the area of Ω, the total lengths of its boundary, the curvature of its boundary, the number of the holes of Ω, etc.) are determined from the asymptotic expansion of the trace of the wave kernel ∧↑μ(t) for small |t|.  相似文献

Let M n be an n-dimensional compact C -differentiable manifold, n ≥ 2, and let S be a C 1-differential system on M n . The system induces a one-parameter C 1 transformation group φ t (−∞ < t < ∞) over M n and, thus, naturally induces a one-parameter transformation group of the tangent bundle of M n . The aim of this paper, in essence, is to study certain ergodic properties of this latter transformation group. Among various results established in the paper, we mention here only the following, which might describe quite well the nature of our study. (A) Let M be the set of regular points in M n of the differential system S. With respect to a given C Riemannian metric of M n , we consider the bundle of all (n−2) spheres Q x n−2, xM, where Q x n−2 for each x consists of all unit tangent vectors of M n orthogonal to the trajectory through x. Then, the differential system S gives rise naturally to a one-parameter transformation group ψ t # (−∞<t<∞) of . For an l-frame α = (u 1, u 2,⋯, u l ) of M n at a point x in M, 1 ≥ ln−1, each u i being in , we shall denote the volume of the parallelotope in the tangent space of M n at x with edges u 1, u 2,⋯, u l by υ(α), and let . This is a continuous real function of t. Let
α is said to be positively linearly independent of the mean if I + *(α) > 0. Similarly, α is said to be negatively linearly independent of the mean if I *(α) > 0. A point x of M is said to possess positive generic index κ = κ + *(x) if, at x, there is a κ-frame , , of M n having the property of being positively linearly independent in the mean, but at x, every l-frame , of M n with l > κ does not have the same property. Similarly, we define the negative generic index κ *(x) of x. For a nonempty closed subset F of M n consisting of regular points of S, invariant under φ t (−∞ < t < ∞), let the (positive and negative) generic indices of F be defined by
Theorem κ + *(F)=κ *(F). (B) We consider a nonempty compact metric space x and a one-parameter transformation group ϕ t (−∞ < t < ∞) over X. For a given positive integer l ≥ 2, we assume that, to each xX, there are associated l-positive real continuous functions
of −∞ < t < ∞. Assume further that these functions possess the following properties, namely, for each of k = 1, 2,⋯, l,
(i*)  h k (x, t) = h xk (t) is a continuous function of the Cartesian product X×(−∞, ∞).
(ii*)
for each xX, each −∞ < s < ∞, and each −∞ < t < ∞. Theorem With X, etc., given above, let μ be a normal measure of X that is ergodic and invariant under ϕ t (− < t < ∞). Then, for a certain permutation k→p(k) of k= 1, 2,⋯, l, the set W of points x of X such that all the inequalities (I k )
(II k )
(k=2, 3,, l) hold is invariant under ϕ t (− < t < ∞) and is μ-measurable with μ-measure1. In practice, the functions h xk (t) will be taken as length functions of certain tangent vectors of M n . This theory, established such as in this paper, is expected to be used in the study of structurally stable differential systems on M n .
