Let R be a commutative ring with identity in which 2 is invertible. Let H denote a subgroup of the unitary group U(2n,R,Λ) with n≥4. H is normalized by EU(2n,J,ΓJ) for some form ideal (J,ΓJ) of the form ring (R,Λ). The purpose of the paper is to prove that H satisfies a “sandwich” property, i.e. there exists a form ideal (I,ΓI) such that
EU(2n,IJ8ΓJ,Γ)⊆HCU(2n,I,ΓI).  相似文献

Let Γ and Λ be artin algebras such that Γ is a split-by-nilpotent extension of Λ by a two sided ideal I of Γ. Consider the change of rings functors G: =ΓΓΛ ?Λ ? and F: =ΛΛΓ ?Γ ?. In this article, by assuming that I Λ is projective, we find the necessary and sufficient conditions under which a stratifying system (Θ, ≤) in modΛ can be lifted to a stratifying system (GΘ, ≤) in mod(Γ). Furthermore, by using the functors F and G, we study the relationship between their filtered categories of modules; and some connections with their corresponding standardly stratified algebras are stated (see Theorem 5.12, Theorem 5.15 and Theorem 5.18). Finally, a sufficient condition is given for stratifying systems in mod(Γ) in such a way that they can be restricted, through the functor F, to stratifying systems in mod(Λ).  相似文献

Let Γ denote the parabola y=x 2 in the plane. For some simple sets Λ in the plane we study the question whether (Γ,Λ) is a Heisenberg uniqueness pair. For example we shall consider the cases where Λ is a straight line or a union of two straight lines.  相似文献

Let R be a ring (commutative with identity), let Γ be a multiplicatively closed set of finitely generated nonzero ideals of R, for an ideal I of R let I Γ = ∪ {I : G; G ∈ Γ}, and for an R-algebra A such that GA ≠ (0) for all G ∈ Γ let A Γ = ∪ {A : T GA; G ∈ Γ}, where T is the total quotient ring of A. Then I Γ is an ideal in R, II Γ is a semi-prime operation (on the set I of ideals I of R) that satisfies a cancellation law, and it is a prime operation on I if and only if R = R Γ. Also, A Γ is an R-algebra and AA Γ is a closure operation on any set A = {A; A is an R-algebra, R ? A, and if C is a ring between R and A, then regular elements in C remain regular in A}. Finally, several results are proved concerning relations between the ideals I Γ and (IA)ΓA and between the R-algebras R Γ and A Γ.

Let Ω be an arbitrary open subset of Rn of finite positive measure, and assume the existence of a subset Λ ? Rn such that the exponential functions eλ = exp i(λ1x1 + … + λnxn), λ = (λ1,…, λn) ∈ Λ, form an orthonormal basis for L2(Ω) with normalized measure. Assume 0 ∈ Λ and define subgroups K and A of (Rn, +) by K = Λ0 = {γ ∈ Rn:γ·λ ∈ 2πZ}, A = {a ∈ Rn:Uam U1a = m}, where Ut is the unitary representation of Rn on L2(Ω) given by Ute = eitλeλ, tRn, λ ∈ Λ, and where m is the multiplication algebra of L(Ω) on L2. Assume that A is discrete. Then there is a discrete subgroup D ? A of dimension n, a fundamental domain D for D, and finite sets of representers RΛ, RΓ, RΩ, each containing 0, RΛ for AK in K0, and RΩ for AK in A such that Ω is disjoint union of translates of D: Ω = ∪a∈RΩ (a + D), neglecting null sets, and Λ = RΛD0. If RΓ is a set of representers for DA in D, then Γ = RΓK is a translation set for Ω, i.e., Ω ⊕ Γ = Rn, direct sum, (neglecting null sets). The case A = Rn corresponds to Ω = D, Λ = D0 and Γ = K. This last case corresponds in turn to a function theoretic assumption of Forelli.  相似文献

Let Γ denote a smooth simple curve in ? N , N ≥ 2, possibly with boundary. Let Ω R be the open normal tubular neighborhood of radius 1 of the expanded curve RΓ: = {Rx | x ∈ Γ??Γ}. Consider the superlinear problem ? Δu + λu = f(u) on the domains Ω R , as R → ∞, with homogeneous Dirichlet boundary condition. We prove the existence of multibump solutions with bumps lined up along RΓ with alternating signs. The function f is superlinear at 0 and at ∞, but it is not assumed to be odd. If the boundary of the curve is nonempty our results give examples of contractible domains in which the problem has multiple sign changing solutions.  相似文献

For an artinian ring R, the directed zero-divisor graph Γ(R) is connected if and only if there is no proper one-sided identity element in R. Sinks and sources are characterized and clarified for a finite ring R. Especially, it is proved that for any ring R, if there exists a source y in Γ(R) with y2=0, then |R|=4 and R={0,x,y,z}, where x and z are left identity elements and yx=0=yz. Such a ring R is also the only ring such that Γ(R) has exactly one source. This shows that Γ(R) cannot be a network for any finite or infinite ring R.  相似文献

We define the Haagerup property for C?-algebras A and extend this to a notion of relative Haagerup property for the inclusion BA, where B is a C?-subalgebra of A. Let Γ be a discrete group and Λ a normal subgroup of Γ, we show that the inclusion A?α,rΛA?α,rΓ has the relative Haagerup property if and only if the quotient group Γ/Λ has the Haagerup property. In particular, the inclusion has the relative Haagerup property if and only if Γ/Λ has the Haagerup property; has the Haagerup property if and only if Γ has the Haagerup property. We also characterize the Haagerup property for Γ in terms of its Fourier algebra A(Γ).  相似文献

Abstract

In ring theory it is well known that a ring R with identity is isomorphic to a matrix ring if and only if R has a set of matrix units. In this paper, the above result is extended to matrix near-rings and it is proved that a near-ring R with identity is isomorphic to a matrix near-ring if and only if R has a set of matrix units and satisfies two other conditions. As a consequence of this result several examples of matrix near-rings are given and for a finite group (Γ, +) with o(Γ) > 2 it is proved that M0n) is (isomorphic to) a matrix near-ring.  相似文献

Let G be the group of real points of a reductive algebraic ℚ-group satisfying the same assumptions as in [5], Chapter I, and let Γ be a discrete subgroup of G. Let RΓ be the right regular representation of G in L2(Γ\G). We prove in this Note that, for any integrable rapidly decreasing function ƒ on G, the restriction of RΓ(ƒ) to the discrete spectrum of RΓ is a trace class operator.  相似文献

We investigate when an exact functor --Γ which induces a stable equivalence is part of a stable equivalence of Morita type. If Λ and Γ are finite dimensional algebras over a field k whose semisimple quotients are separable, we give a necessary and sufficient condition for this to be the case. This generalizes a result of Rickard’s for self-injective algebras. As a corollary, we see that the two functors given by tensoring with the bimodules in a stable equivalence of Morita type are right and left adjoints of one another, provided that these bimodules are indecomposable. This fact has many interesting consequences for stable equivalences of Morita type. In particular, we show that a stable equivalence of Morita type induces another stable equivalence of Morita type between certain self-injective algebras associated to the original algebras. We further show that when there exists a stable equivalence of Morita type between Λ and Γ, it is possible to replace Λ by a Morita equivalent k-algebra Δ such that Γ is a subring of Δ and the induction and restriction functors induce inverse stable equivalences.  相似文献

Let Γ be a closed, Jordan, rectifiable curve, whose are length is commensurable with its subtending chord, leta ε int Γ, and let Rn(a) be the set of rational functions of degree ≤n, having a pole perhaps only at the pointa. Let Λα(Γ), 0 < α < 1, be the Hölder class on Γ. One constructs a system of weights γn(z) > 0 on Γ such that f∈Λα(Γ) if and only if for any nonnegative integer n there exists a function Rn, Rn ε Rn(a) such that ¦f(z) ? Rn(z)¦ ≤ cf·γn(z), z ε Γ. It is proved that the weights γn cannot be expressed simply in terms of ρ 1 + /n(z) and ρ 1 - /n(z), the distances to the level lines of the moduli of the conformal mappings of ext Γ and int Γ on \(\mathbb{C}\backslash \mathbb{D}\) .  相似文献

We show that all the free Araki–Woods factors Γ(HR,Ut) have the complete metric approximation property. Using Ozawa–Popa?s techniques, we then prove that every nonamenable subfactor NΓ(HR,Ut) which is the range of a normal conditional expectation has no Cartan subalgebra. We finally deduce that the type III1 factors constructed by Connes in the ?70s can never be isomorphic to any free Araki–Woods factor, which answers a question of Shlyakhtenko and Vaes.  相似文献

Let Λ be an artin algebra and X a finitely generated Λ-module. Iyama has shown that there exists a module Y such that the endomorphism ring Γ of XY is quasi-hereditary, with a heredity chain of length n, and that the global dimension of Γ is bounded by this n. In general, one only knows that a quasi-hereditary algebra with a heredity chain of length n must have global dimension at most 2n−2. We want to show that Iyama’s better bound is related to the fact that the ring Γ he constructs is not only quasi-hereditary, but even left strongly quasi-hereditary. By definition, the left strongly quasi-hereditary algebras are the quasi-hereditary algebras with all standard left modules of projective dimension at most 1.  相似文献

Let Λ and Γ be left and right Noetherian rings and Λ U a generalized tilting module with Γ = End( Λ U ). For a non-negative integer k, if Λ U is (k - 2)-Gorenstein with the injective dimensions of Λ U and U Γ being k, then the socle of the last term in a minimal injective resolution of Λ U is non-zero.  相似文献

t Let F = Cay(G, S), R(G) be the right regular representation of G. The graph Г is called normal with respect to G, if R(G) is normal in the full automorphism group Aut(F) of F. Г is called a bi-normal with respect to G if R(G) is not normal in Aut(Г), but R(G) contains a subgroup of index 2 which is normal in Aut(F). In this paper, we prove that connected tetravalent edge-transitive Cayley graphs on PGL(2,p) are either normal or bi-normal when p ≠ 11 is a prime.  相似文献

Given a finite group R, a graphical regular representation of R is a Cayley graph Γ over R with R = Aut(Γ). In this paper we study graphical regular representations of finite non-abelian simple groups of small valency.  相似文献

The paper studies the following question: Given a ring R, when does the zero-divisor graph Γ(R) have a regular endomorphism monoid? We prove if R contains at least one nontrivial idempotent, then Γ(R) has a regular endomorphism monoid if and only if R is isomorphic to one of the following rings: Z2×Z2×Z2; Z2×Z4; Z2×(Z2[x]/(x2)); F1×F2, where F1,F2 are fields. In addition, we determine all positive integers n for which Γ(Zn) has the property.  相似文献

For a Dynkin quiver Γ with r vertices, a subset S of the vertices of Γ, and an r-tuple d = (d(1), d(2),…, d(r)) of positive integers, we define a “torus-restricted” representation (GS, R d (Γ)) in natural way. Here we put GS = G1 × G2 × … ×Gr, where each Gi is either SL(d(i)) or GL(d(i)) according to S containing i or not. In this paper, for a prescribed torus-restriction S, we give a necessary and sufficient condition on d that R d (Γ) has only finitely many GS-orbits. This can be paraphrased as a condition whether or not d is contained in a certain lattice spanned by positive roots of Γ. We also discuss the prehomogeneity of (GS, R d (Γ)).  相似文献
