A phase transition of the first kind is a jump of a function, a phase transition of the second kind is a jump of its first derivative, a phase transition of the third kind, a jump of the second derivative. A phase transition from one statistic to another is very gradual, but finally it is as considerable as the phase transition of the first kind. However, we cannot introduce a clearly defined parameter to which this transition corresponds. This is due to the fact that the fluctuations near the critical point are huge, and this violates, in the vicinity of that point, the main law of equilibrium thermodynamics, which asserts that fluctuations are relatively small. The paper describes the transition in the supercritical fluid region of equilibrium thermodynamics from parastatistics to mixed statistics, in which the Boltzmann statistics is realized for long-living clusters. In economics this corresponds to a negative nominal credit rate. Examples of this non-standard situation are presented.  相似文献

The classical (i.e., non-quantum) equilibrium statistical mechanics of a two-dimensional one-component plasma (a system of charged point-particles embedded in a neutralizing background) living on a pseudosphere (an infinite surface of constant negative curvature) is considered. In the case of a flat space, it is known that, for a one-component plasma, there are several reasonable definitions of the pressure, and that some of them are not equivalent to each other. In the present paper, this problem is revisited in the case of a pseudosphere. General relations between the different pressures are given. At one special temperature, the model is exactly solvable in the grand canonical ensemble. The grand potential and the one-body density are calculated in a disk, and the thermodynamic limit is investigated. The general relations between the different pressures are checked on the solvable model.  相似文献

This paper deals with a probabilistic formulation of the wave scattering from a periodic random surface. When a plane wave is incident on a random surface described by a periodic stationary stochastic process, it is shown by a group-theoretic consideration that the scattered wave may have a stochastic Floquet form, i.e. a product of a periodic stationary random function and an exponential phase factor. Such a periodic stationary random function is then written by a harmonic series representation similar to a Fourier series, where Fourier coefficients are mutually correlated stationary processes instead of constants. The mutually correlated stationary processes are represented by Wiener - Hermite functional series with unknown coefficient functions called Wiener kernels. In case of a slightly rough surface and TE wave incidence, low-order Wiener kernels are determined from the boundary condition. Several statistical properties of the scattering are calculated and illustrated in figures.  相似文献

The time-averaged interaction force exerted by a sound field between a gas bubble and a solid spherical particle is examined. An approach is developed allowing the force to be calculated for small separations between the bubble and the particle. The results obtained are compared with the existing asymptotic equation derived for large separations. It is shown that when the bubble and the particle are closely spaced, both the magnitude and the sign of the force are different from those predicted by the asymptotic equation, resulting in new interesting effects.  相似文献

Fluctuation phenomena in a superradiating atomic system are investigated in the framework of the generalized phase space method. An operator form of the superradiant master equation is mapped onto ac-number space. Evolution of the most probable path and small deviations from the path are determined. Fluctuations around the path are solved in a closed form. A remarkable enhancement of fluctuation is observed and this is recognized as a sort of anomalous fluctuation around an unstable point.  相似文献

The free in-plane vibrations of circular rings with wheel-plates as generalised elastic foundations are studied using analytical methods and numerical simulations. The three-parameter Winkler elastic layer is proposed as a mathematical model of the foundation. The effects of rotary inertia and shear deformation are included in the analytical model of the system. The motion equations of systems are derived on the basis of the thin ring theory and Timoshenko?s theory. The separation of variables method is used to find general solutions to the free vibrations. Elaborated analytical models are used to determine the natural frequencies and the natural mode shapes of vibrations of an arbitrarily chosen set of simplified models of aviation gears and railway wheels. The eigenvalue problem is formulated and solved by using a finite element representation for each simplified model. The results for these models are discussed and compared. The proposed solutions are verified by experimental investigation. It is important to note that the solutions proposed here could be useful to engineers dealing with the dynamics of aviation gears, railway wheels and other circular ring systems.  相似文献

The design and performance of a Micromegas with a resistive anode are presented in this paper. A thin resistive sheet with volume resistivity of 1012 Ω·m cm is glued onto the readout electrode surface and its performance is investigated by using a 55Fe X-ray radioactive source in the operation gas of argon and isobutene mixtures (Ar/Iso=95/5). The gas gain at different mesh high voltage, counting rate and working time are given. Energy spectra at different working voltages are measured and the results are discussed. We have oberved that a Micromegas with a resistive anode can be operated at higer gain than a standard Micromegas without sparks.  相似文献

A tire is modeled as a toroidal membrane under internal pressure and mounted on a rim, to investigate its free vibration characteristics using a 12 d.o.f. rectangular membrane finite element. Such a modeling is valid if the tire is assumed to be incapable of supporting any weight in the absence of internal pressure. To verify the formulations of the membrane finite element, a flat rectangular membrane subject to in-plane loads and a circular cylindrical membrane under internal pressure are first analyzed. Analytical solutions for these cases are also derived. The analytical and numerical results are in good agreement. A toroidal membrane under internal pressure, assumed to model a low pressure tire, is studied next. Both the analytical derivation and the finite element solutions are presented. For the analytical solution the equations of motion yield a complicated differential equation for which an approximate solution is obtained by assuming that the parallel circle radius is constant as in the case of a bycycle wheel. The finite element solution successfully predicts the symmetrical and the twisting modes of vibration documented by other researchers, and is also in good agreement with the analytical results. The present formulations are useful to obtain a good first approximation of the free vibration response of a tire.  相似文献

The scalar problem of the scattering of a wave from a nonlinear insertion lying in the interior of a waveguide is reduced by the incomplete Galerkin method to the boundary value problem for a Hamiltonian system. The cases in which this problem admits a solution in finite terms are indicated. Examples are given to illustrate specific phenomena due to the nonlinearity of the problem.  相似文献

Conclusions Equation (6) relates the complex frequency for a TMnmo mode in a cylindrical cavity to the geometrical parameters, ferrite parameters, and volume and position of the specimen.Formula (6) is a generalization of characteristic equations previously derived [3, 4], which are of great value. The dispersion equation of (6) is of interest in that it allows one to calculate the effects of the dielectric parameters on the cavity, which is of value if a large tuning range is needed.Numerical results are rather laborious to obtain, but some valuable conclusions can be drawn in a relatively simple fashion, as will be shown in a forthcoming paper.  相似文献

The effect of conductor boundaries on the deformation and stability of a charged drop is presented. The motivation for such a study is the occurrence of a charged conductor drop near a conductor wall in experiments (Millikan-like set-up in studies on Rayleigh break-up) and applications (such as electrospraying, ink-jet printing and ion mass spectroscopy). In the present work, analytical (linear stability analysis (LSA)) and numerical methods (boundary element method (BEM)) are used to understand the instability. Two kinds of boundaries are studied: a spherical, conducting, grounded enclosure (similar to a spherical capacitor) and a planar conducting wall. The LSA of a charged drop placed at the center of a spherical cavity shows that the Rayleigh critical charge (corresponding to the most unstable l = 2 Legendre mode) is reduced as the non-dimensional distance ?d = (b - a)/a decreases, where a and b are the radii of the drop and spherical cavity, respectively. The critical charge is independent of the assumptions of constant charge or constant potential conditions. The trans-critical bifurcation diagram, constructed using BEM, shows that the prolate shapes are subcritically unstable over a much wider range of charge as [Formula: see text] decreases. The study is then extended to the stability of a charged conductor drop near a flat conductor wall. Analytical theory for this case is difficult and the stability as well as the bifurcation diagram are constructed using BEM. Moreover, the induced charges in the conductor wall lead to attraction of the drop to the wall, thereby making it difficult to conduct a systematic analysis. The drop is therefore assumed to be held at its position by an external force such as the electric field. The case when the applied field is much smaller than the field due to inherent charge on the drop ((a(3)ρg)/(3ε(0)Ψ(2)) ? 1 is considered. The wall breaks the fore-aft symmetry in the problem, and equilibrium, predominantly prolate shapes corresponding to the legendre mode, l = 2 , are observed. The deformation increases with increasing charge on the drop. The breakup of the prolate equilibrium shapes is independent of the legendre modes of the initial perturbations. The prolate perturbations are subcritically unstable. Since the equilibrium prolate shapes cannot continuously exchange instability with equilibrium oblate shapes, an imperfect transcritical bifurcation is observed. A variety of highly deformed equilibrium oblate shapes are predicted by the BEM calculations.  相似文献

The effectiveness of the dynamic vibration absorber which consists of a double-cantilever viscoelastic beam and a spring-viscous damper is studied. The absorber is attached to the centre of the main beam. The ends of the main beam are built in and excited sinusoidally by the base motion. In the numerical example, the displacement transmissibility, i.e., the ratio of the displacement at the centre of the main beam to that of the base, is investigated. Variations of the resonant peaks are shown when the absorber parameters are changed. Values of the optimum tuning design parameters are presented, and it is verified that two of the main beam resonances are optimized simultaneously.  相似文献

Measurement of the scattering of a Lamb wave by a through hole in a plate   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Flexural waves propagating in an aluminum plate containing a circular hole are studied. In the experiments the first antisymmetric Lamb wave mode A0 is excited selectively by a piezoelectric transducer. The scattered field around a circular cavity is measured pointwise using a heterodyne laser interferometer. The measurements are compared with theoretical calculations. Different approximate analytical approaches, employing Kirchhoff and Mindlin types of plate theories to describe the scattered field, are used. Good agreement between the experimental data and the analytical solutions is found within the ranges of validity of the different models. Introduction of a small imperfection, like a notch, at the boundary of the cavity changes the measured scattered field  相似文献

Scattering of a Bessel beam by a sphere   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
The exact scattering by a sphere centered on a Bessel beam is expressed as a partial wave series involving the scattering angle relative to the beam axis and the conical angle of the wave vector components of the Bessel beam. The sphere is assumed to have isotropic material properties so that the nth partial wave amplitude for plane wave scattering is proportional to a known partial-wave coefficient. The scattered partial waves in the Bessel beam case are also proportional to the same partial-wave coefficient but now the weighting factor depends on the properties of the Bessel beam. When the wavenumber-radius product ka is large, for rigid or soft spheres the scattering is peaked in the backward and forward directions along the beam axis as well as in the direction of the conical angle. These properties are geometrically explained and some symmetry properties are noted. The formulation is also suitable for elastic and fluid spheres. A partial wave expansion of the Bessel beam is noted.  相似文献

To reveal the inner mechanisms of a combustion accident in a coalmine, the key stages and characteristics of premixed flame front evolution such as the flame shapes, propagation speeds, acceleration rates, run-up distances and flame-generated velocity profiles are scrutinised. The theories of globally spherical, expanding flames and of finger-flame acceleration are combined into a general analytical formulation. Two-dimensional and cylindrical mining passages are studied, with noticeably stronger acceleration found in the cylindrical geometry. The entire acceleration scenario may promote the total burning rate by up to two orders of magnitude, to a near-sonic value. Starting with gaseous combustion, the analysis is subsequently extended to gaseous-dusty environments. Specifically, combustible dust (e.g. coal), inert dust (e.g. sand), and their combination are considered, and the influence of the size and concentration of the dust particles is quantified. In particular, small particles influence flame propagation more than large ones, and flame acceleration increases with the concentration of a combustible dust, until the concentration attains a certain limit.  相似文献

Polarization bremsstrahlung (PB) that arises when a fast hydrogen-like ion is scattered in a single crystal is investigated theoretically. Four types of the process are analyzed that are caused by virtual excitation of electrons of the target and of the incident particle (IP), as well as by a coherent and incoherent interaction between the IP and the single crystal. The spectral, angular, and velocity (of the IP) characteristics of PB are calculated with regard to the spectral function of a photodetector. Optimal observation conditions and regions in which different types of PB are dominant are determined, and the dependence of these regions on the charge of the IP nucleus and of the target atoms is revealed.  相似文献

The transient temperature associated with the bulk absorption of a rectangular laser pulse in a solidstate sample of finite size is calculated analytically and analyzed. Radiation is incident on the frontal surface with an arbitrary surface thermal conductivity. The opposite surface is thermostatically controlled and maintained at a constant equilibrium temperature. The general solution is obtained for pulses of arbitrary duration. The pulse duration is determined with respect to the relaxation time of the nonstationary thermal diffusion (it is the characteristic time of the problem). The limiting cases of the adiabatic insulation and isothermal contact at the frontal surface are considered, and the criteria for surface and bulk light absorption are derived for both cases. The temperature distributions are numerically simulated and examined for long and short pulses, as well as for different values of the light absorption coefficient and the surface thermal conductivity of the frontal surface.  相似文献

The transition of a low-current discharge with a self-heated hollow cathode to a high-current discharge is studied, and stability conditions for the latter in the pulsed–periodic mode with a current of 0.1–1.0 kA, pulse width of 0.1–1.0 ms, and a pulse repetition rate of 0.1–1.0 kHz are determined. The thermal conditions of the hollow cathode are analyzed, and the conclusion is drawn that the emission current high density is due to pulsed self-heating of the cathode’s surface layer. Conditions for stable emission from a plasma cathode with a grid acting as a plasma boundary using such a discharge are found at low accelerating voltage (100–200 eV) and a gas pressure of 0.1–0.4 Pa. The density of the ion current from a plasma generated by a pulsed beam with a current of 100 A is found to reach 0.1 A/cm2. Probe diagnostics data for the emitting and beam plasmas in the electron source are presented, and a mechanism behind the instability of electron emission from the plasma is suggested on their basis.  相似文献
