Rotationally resolved resonant two-photon ionization (R2PI) spectra of ScCo and YCo are reported. The measured spectra reveal that these molecules possess ground electronic states of (1)Sigma(+) symmetry, as previously found in the isoelectronic Cr(2) and CrMo molecules. The ground state rotational constants for ScCo and YCo are B(0)(")=0.201 31(22) cm(-1) and B(0) (")=0.120 96(10) cm(-1), corresponding to ground state bond lengths of r(0) (")=1.812 1(10) A and r(0) (")=1.983 0(8) A, respectively. A single electronic band system, assigned as a (1)Pi<--X (1)Sigma(+) transition, has been identified in both molecules. In ScCo, the (1)Pi state is characterized by T(0)=15,428.8, omega(e)(')=246.7, and omega(e)(')x(e)(')=0.73 cm(-1). In YCo, the (1)Pi state has T(0)=13 951.3, omega(e)(')=231.3, and omega(e)(')x(e) (')=2.27 cm(-1). For YCo, hot bands originating from levels up to v(")=3 are observed, allowing the ground state vibrational constants omega(e)(")=369.8, omega(e)(")x(e)(")=1.47, and Delta G(12)(")=365.7 cm(-1) to be deduced. The bond energy of ScCo has been measured as 2.45 eV from the onset of predissociation in a congested vibronic spectrum. A comparison of the chemical bonding in these molecules to related molecules is presented.  相似文献

Vibronically resolved resonant two-photon ionization and dispersed fluorescence spectra of the organometallic radicals CrC(2)H, CrCH(3), and NiCH(3) are reported in the visible and near-infrared wavelength regions. For CrC(2)H, a complicated vibronic spectrum is found in the 11 100-13 300 cm(-1) region, with a prominent vibrational progression having omega(e) (')=426.52+/-0.84 cm(-1), omega(e) (')x(e) (')=0.74+/-0.13 cm(-1). Dispersed fluorescence reveals a v(")=1 level of the ground state with DeltaG(1/2) (")=470+/-20 cm(-1). These vibrational frequencies undoubtedly pertain to the Cr-C(2)H stretching mode. It is suggested that the spectrum corresponds to the A (6)Sigma(+)<--X (6)Sigma(+) band system, with the CrC(2)H molecule being linear in both the ground and the excited state. The related CrCH(3) molecule displays a vibronic spectrum in the 11 500-14 000 cm(-1) region. The upper state of this system displays six sub-bands that are too closely spaced to be vibrational structure, but too widely separated to be K structure. It is suggested that the observed spectrum is a (6)E<--X (6)A(1) band system, analogous to the well-known B (6)Pi<--X (6)Sigma(+) band systems of CrF and CrCl. The ground state Cr-CH(3) vibration is characterized by omega(e) (")=525+/-17 cm(-1) and omega(e) (")x(e) (")=7.9+/-6 cm(-1). The spectrum of NiCH(3) lies in the 16 100-17 400 cm(-1) range and has omega(e) (')=455.3+/-0.1 cm(-1) and omega(e) (')x(e) (')=6.60+/-0.03 cm(-1). Dispersed fluorescence studies provide ground state vibrational constants of omega(e) (")=565.8+/-1.6 cm(-1) and omega(e) (")x(e) (")=1.7+/-3.0 cm(-1). Again, these values correspond to the Ni-CH(3) stretching motion. (c) 2004 American Institute of Physics.  相似文献

Autoionization of Rydberg states of HfF, prepared using the optical-optical double resonance technique, holds promise to create HfF(+) in a particular Zeeman level of a rovibronic state for an electron electric dipole moment search. We characterize a vibronic band of Rydberg HfF at 54 cm(-1) above the lowest ionization threshold and directly probe the state of the ions formed from this vibronic band by performing laser-induced fluorescence on the ions. The Rydberg HfF molecules show a propensity to decay into only a few ion rotational states of a given parity and are found to preserve their orientation qualitatively upon autoionization. We show empirically that we can create 30% of the total ion yield in a particular ∣J(+), M(+) state and present a simplified model describing autoionization from a given Rydberg state that assumes no angular dynamics.  相似文献

The Floquet states of N(2) (2+) created by the interactions of the six lowest singlet (1 (1)Sigma(g) (+), 1 (1)Delta(g), 2 (1)Sigma(g) (+), 1 (1)Pi(u), 1 (1)Pi(g), and 1 (1)Sigma(u) (-)) states of the dication with intense (0.4 x 10(13) Wcm(2)) radiation have been studied using the recently developed multireference configuration interaction method with single and double excitations (MRCISD)-based approach. The adiabatic Floquet state coinciding near its minimum with the initial X (1)Sigma(g) (+) ground state and asymptotically correlating with A (1)Pi(u) (m = -1), i.e., with one less photon in the dressed state, is expected to be metastable, as is the ground state in the absence of a field, but to support up to the v(max) = 12 quasibound vibrational level in comparison with v(max) = 11 in the parent field-free X (1)Sigma(g) (+) ground state. The tunneling lifetimes of the highest vibrational levels in this adiabatic Floquet state are predicted to be several orders longer than those in the parent field-free state. Analysis of the complete basis set limit extrapolated MRCISD potential energy curve of the field-free X (1)Sigma(g) (+) state of N(2) (2+) calculated in the present work (R(e) = 1.130 A, omega(e) = 2011 cm(-1), omega(e)x(e) = 26.1 cm(-1)) is in good agreement with spectroscopic experimental data. Calculations on the field-free A (1)Pi(u) state (T(e) = 12 106 cm(-1), R(e) = 1.252 A, omega(e) = 1438 cm(-1), omega(e)x(e) = 23.5 cm(-1)) generally support earlier theoretical work and do not support reported experimental values.  相似文献

Fourier transform spectra of near-infrared laser-induced fluorescence in (39)K(6)Li show transitions to high vibrational levels of both the X (1)Sigma(+) and a (3)Sigma(+) electronic states. These include 147 transitions into six vibrational levels of the a (3)Sigma(+) state, which lie between 7 and 88 cm(-1) below the dissociation asymptote. Unfortunately, their energies span less than 30% of the well depth. However, fitting those data to eigenvalues of analytical model potential functions whose outer limbs incorporate the theoretically predicted long-range form, V(R) approximately D-C(6)R(6)-C(8)R(8), yields complete, plausible potential curves for this state. The best fits converge to remarkably similar solutions which indicate that D(e)=287(+/-4) cm(-1) and R(e)=4.99(+/-0.09) A for the a (3)Sigma(+) state of KLi, with omega(e)=47.3(+/-1.4) and 44.2(+/-1.5) cm(-1) for (39)K(6)Li and (39)K(7)Li, respectively. Properties of the resulting potential are similar to those of a published ab initio potential and are consistent with those of the analogous states of Li(2), K(2), Na(2), and NaK.  相似文献

The phenomenon of electronic orbital angular momentum L uncoupled from its internuclear axis has been observed in the sodium dimer using high-resolution cw optical-optical double-resonance spectroscopy. When L uncoupling occurs, the degeneracy of Lambda doubling is removed. In our experiment, the intermediate B (1)Pi(u) state of Na(2) is excited from the thermally populated ground X (1)Sigma(g) (+) state by a single-line Ar(+) laser. Then, a single-mode dye laser is used to probe the Rydberg states from the intermediate state. The signals are detected by monitoring the UV fluorescence from the triplet gerade states back to the a (3)Sigma(u) (+) state via collision energy transfer. Under our experimental resolution, the splitting of Lambda doubling in the 5 (1)Delta(g) state of Na(2) can be measured. A total of 136 rovibronic levels with ef parities have been assigned to the 5 (1)Delta(g) state. The Lambda-splitting constants deduced from these data are q(0)=0.376(90)x10(-4) cm(-1), q(v)=0.114(6)x10(-4) cm(-1), and mu=0.76(33)x10(-8) cm(-1). In general, the Lambda splitting of the Delta states is considerably smaller than that of the Pi states. However, the first-order splitting constants q(0) and q(v) reported here are larger than those in the B (1)Pi(u) state. This is due to the L uncoupling of the Rydberg states.  相似文献

The potential energy curves of the ground state and of some excited states of the manganese dimer have been calculated over a wide range of internuclear distances using the second order n-electron valence state perturbation theory applied to a complete active space self-consistent field reference wave function. The ground state of Mn(2), for which also the third order NEVPT has been used, is calculated to be a singlet belonging to the Sigma(g) (+) symmetry, characterized by a large equilibrium internuclear distance R(e) of 3.7-3.8 A, by a low dissociation energy D(e) of 0.07-0.08 eV, and by a small harmonic frequency omega(e) of 43 cm(-1). The experimental evidence that Mn(2) is a van der Waals molecule is thus confirmed. Among the excited states, (11)Pi(u), which is usually indicated as the ground state by density functional theory studies, appears as a low-lying state with R(e)=2.50 A, D(e)=1.35 eV, and omega(e)=246 cm(-1).  相似文献

The authors report the first gas-phase spectroscopic investigation of diatomic vanadium molybdenum (VMo). The molecules were produced by laser ablation of a VMo alloy disk and cooled in a helium supersonic expansion. The jet-cooled VMo molecules were studied using resonant two-photon ionization spectroscopy. The ground state has been demonstrated to be of (2)Delta(52) symmetry, deriving from the dsigma(2)dpi(4)ddelta(3)ssigma(2) electronic configuration. Rotational analysis has established the ground state bond length and rotational constant as r(0) (")=1.876 57(23) A and B(0) (")=0.142 861(35) cm(-1), respectively, for (51)V(98)Mo (1sigma error limits). Transitions to states with Omega(')=2.5, Omega(')=3.5, and Omega(')=1.5 have been recorded and rotationally analyzed. A band system originating at 15 091 cm(-1) has been found to exhibit a vibrational progression with omega(e) (')=752.7 cm(-1), omega(e) (')x(e) (')=12.8 cm(-1), and r(0) (')=1.90 A for (51)V(98)Mo. The measured bond lengths (r(0)) of V(2), VNb, Nb(2), Cr(2), CrMo, Mo(2), VCr, NbCr, and VMo have been used to derive multiple bonding radii for these elements of r(V)=0.8919 A, r(Nb)=1.0424 A, r(Cr)=0.8440 A, and r(Mo)=0.9725 A. These values reproduce the bond lengths of all nine diatomics to an accuracy of +/-0.012 A or better.  相似文献

A 1 + 1' multiphoton ionization (MPI) detection scheme for OH radicals is presented. The spectroscopic approach combines initial excitation on the well-characterized A(2)Σ(+)-X(2)Π band system with vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) ionization via autoionizing Rydberg states that converge on the OH(+) A(3)Π ion state. Jet-cooled MPI spectra on the (1,0) and (2,0) bands show anomalous rotational line intensities, while initial excitation on the (0,0) band does not lead to detectable OH(+) ions. The onset of ionization with the (1,0) band is attributed to an energetic threshold; the combined UV + VUV photon energies are above the first member of the autoionizing (A(3)Π)nd Rydberg series. Comparison of the OH 1 + 1' MPI signal with that from single photon VUV ionization of NO indicates that the cross section for photoionization from OH A(2)Σ(+), v' = 1 is on the order of 10(-17) cm(2).  相似文献

A two-dimensional fluorescence (excitation/emission) spectrum of C2 produced in an acetylene discharge was used to identify and separate emission bands from the d (3)Pi(g)<--c (3)Sigma(u) (+) and d (3)Pi(g)<--a (3)Pi(u) excitations. Rotationally resolved excitation spectra of the (4<--1), (5<--1), (5<--2), and (7<--3) bands in the d (3)Pi(g)<--c (3)Sigma(u) (+) system of C2 were observed by laser-induced fluorescence spectroscopy. The molecular constants of each vibrational level, determined from rotational analysis, were used to calculate the spectroscopic constants of the c (3)Sigma(u) (+) state. The principal molecular constants for the c (3)Sigma(u) (+) state are B(e)=1.9319(19) cm(-1), alpha(e)=0.018 55(69) cm(-1), omega(e)=2061.9 cm(-1), omega(e)x(e)=14.84 cm(-1), and T(0)(c-a)=8662.925(3) cm(-1). We report also the first experimental observations of dispersed fluorescence from the d (3)Pi(g) state to the c (3)Sigma(u) (+) state, namely, d (3)Pi(g)(v=3)-->c (3)Sigma(u) (+)(v=0,1).  相似文献

Time-resolved coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering, with a resolution of 20 fs, is used to prepare a broadband vibrational superposition on the ground electronic state of I2 isolated in solid Kr. The coherent evolution of a packet consisting of nu=1-6 is monitored for as many as 1000 periods, allowing a precise analysis of the material response and radiation coherence. The molecular vibrations are characterized by omega(e)=211.330(2) cm(-1), omega(e)x(e)=0.6523(6) cm(-1), omega(e)y(e)=2.9(1) x 10(-3) cm(-1); the dephasing rates at 32 K range from 110 ps for nu=1 to 34 ps for nu=6, with nu dependence: gamma(nu)=8.5 x 10(-3)+4.9 x 10(-4)nu2+2.1 x 10(-6)nu4 ps(-1). The signal amplitude is also modulated at omega(q)=41.56(3) cm(-1); which can be interpreted as coupling between the molecule and a local mode. The surprising implication is that this resonant local mode is decoupled from the lattice phonons, a finding that cannot be rationalized based on a normal-mode analysis.  相似文献

We have measured the infrared (IR) vibrational spectrum for cis-dichloroethene (cis-ClCH[Double Bond]CHCl) in excited Rydberg states with the effective principal quantum numbers n(*)=9, 13, 17, 21, 28, and 55 using the vacuum ultraviolet-IR-photoinduced Rydberg ionization (VUV-IR-PIRI) scheme. Although the IR frequencies observed for the vibrational bands nu(11) (*) (asymmetric C-H stretch) and nu(12) (*) (symmetric C-H stretch) are essentially unchanged for different n(*) states, suggesting that the IR absorption predominantly involves the ion core and that the Rydberg electron behaves as a spectator; the intensity ratio for the nu(11) (*) and nu(12) (*) bands [R(nu(11) (*)nu(12) (*))] is found to decrease smoothly as n(*) is increased. This trend is consistent with the results of a model ab initio quantum calculation of R(nu(11) (*)nu(12) (*)) for excited cis-ClCH[Double Bond]CHCl in n(*)=3-18 states and the MP26-311++G(2df,p) calculations of R(nu(11)nu(12)) and R(nu(11) (+)nu(12) (+)), where R(nu(11)nu(12))[R(nu(11) (+)nu(12) (+))] represents the intensity ratio of the nu(11)(nu(11) (+)) asymmetric C-H stretching to the nu(12)(nu(12) (+)) symmetric C-H stretching vibrational bands for cis-ClCH[Double Bond]CHCl (cis-ClCH[Double Bond]CHCl(+)). We have also measured the IR-VUV-photoion (IR-VUV-PI) and IR-VUV-pulsed field ionization-photoelectron depletion (IR-VUV-PFI-PED) spectra for cis-ClCH[Double Bond]CHCl. These spectra are consistent with ab initio calculations, indicating that the IR absorption cross section for the nu(12) band is negligibly small compared to that for the nu(11) band. While the VUV-IR-PIRI measurements have allowed the determination of nu(11) (+)=3067+/-2 cm(-1), nu(12) (+)=3090+/-2 cm(-1), and R(nu(11) (+)nu(12) (+)) approximately 1.3 for cis-ClCH=CHCl(+), the IR-VUV-PI and IR-VUV-PFI-PED measurements have provided the value nu(11)=3088.5+/-0.2 cm(-1) for cis-ClCH=CHCl.  相似文献

A dispersed fluorescence investigation of the low-lying electronic states of NiCu has allowed the observation of four out of the five states that derive from the 3d(Ni)9 3d(Cu)10 sigma2 manifold. Vibrational levels of the ground X2delta(5/2) state corresponding to v = 0-11 are observed and are fit to provide omega(e) = 275.93 +/- 1.06 cm(-1) and omega(e)x(e) = 1.44 +/- 0.11 cm(-1). The v = 0 levels of the higher lying states deriving from the 3d(Ni)9 3d(Cu)10 sigma2 manifold are located at 912, 1466, and 1734 cm(-1), and these states are assigned to omega values of 3/2, 1/2, and 3/2, respectively. The last of these assignments is based on selection rules and is unequivocal; the first two are based on a comparison to ab initio and ligand field calculations and could conceivably be in error. It is also possible that the v = 0 level of the state found at 912 cm(-1) is not observed, so that T0 for the lowest excited state actually lies near 658 cm(-1). These results are modeled using a matrix Hamiltonian based on the existence of a ground manifold of states deriving from the 3d9 configuration on nickel. This matrix Hamiltonian is also applied to the spectroscopically well-known molecules AlNi, NiH, NiCl, and NiF. The term energies of the 2sigma+, 2pi, and 2delta states of these molecules, which all derive from a 3d9 configuration on the nickel atom, display a clear and understandable trend as a function of the electronegativity of the ligands.  相似文献

The Rydberg spectra of CaF combine the simplicity of a single electron outside a doubly closed-shell Ca2+F- ion core with the exceptional polarity of the ion core. A global multichannel quantum defect (MQDT) fit to 612 previously assigned levels, 507 from n approximately = 12-18, N=0-14, v+=1, 97 from n approximately = 9-10, N=0-14, v+=2, and 8 from n approximately = 7, N=3-10, v+=3, produces the complete L=0-3 quantum defect matrix mu (with the exception of one element) and 19 of 20 elements of the partial differentialmu/differentialR matrix, as well as the molecular constants of the CaFX 1sigma+ state [omega(e)+=694.58(14), omega(e)x(e+)=2.559(40), B(e+)=0.373 07(16) cm(-1), and the v=0, N=0 to v(+)=0, N(+)=0 ionization energy, 46,996.40(8) cm(-1)]. This experimentally determined mu(R) matrix is unusual in the completeness of its representation of the spectrum of both core-penetrating and nonpenetrating Rydberg series, including both local perturbations and vibrational autoionization rates, as well as all dynamical processes encoded in the spectrum that result from the scattering (at negative energy) of the Rydberg electron off the Ca2+F- ion core. The MQDT theory is presented in a form that clarifies the relationships of the reaction (K) and phase (P) matrices of MQDT to effective Hamiltonian models for local interactions between accidentally near degenerate levels. In particular, a Hund's case (b) like representation of the Hamiltonian is described in which the rovibronic K matrix is diagonalized and the P matrix, which contains information about the v+, N+ eigenstates of the ion, becomes nondiagonal.  相似文献

In the wavelength range of 235-354 nm, we have obtained the mass-resolved [1+1] two-photon dissociation spectra of CO(2) (+) via A (2)Pi(u,12)(upsilon(1)upsilon(2)0)<--X (2)Pi(g,12)(000) transitions by preparing CO(2) (+) ions in the X (2)Pi(g,12)(000) state via [3+1] multiphoton ionization of CO(2) molecules at 333.06 nm. The vibronic bands of (upsilon(1)20;upsilon(1)=0-11)micro (2)Pi(12) and (upsilon(1)20;upsilon(1)=0-6)kappa (2)Pi(12) involving the bending mode of CO(2) (+)(A (2)Pi(u,12)) were assigned. The spectroscopic constants of T(e)=27 908.9+/-1.1 cm(-1) [above CO(2) (+)(X (2)Pi(g,12))], nu(1)=1126.00+/-0.36 cm(-1), chi(11)=-1.602+/-0.005 cm(-1), nu(2)(micro (2)Pi(12))=402.5+/-13.3 cm(-1), and nu(2)(kappa (2)Pi(12))=493.1+/-23.6 cm(-1) for CO(2) (+)(A (2)Pi(u,12)) are deduced from the data of the A (2)Pi(u,12)(upsilon(1)upsilon(2)0)<--X (2)Pi(g,12)(000) transitions. The observed intensity reversal between (500) (2)Pi(12) and (420)micro (2)Pi(12) can be attributed to the conformational variation of CO(2) (+)(A (2)Pi(u,12)) from linear to bent, then the conversion potential barrier is estimated to be 5209 cm(-1) above CO(2) (+)(A (2)Pi(u,12)(000)). The wavelength and level dependence of the photofragment branching ratios have been measured and the dissociation dynamics of CO(2) (+) via A (2)Pi(u,12) state is discussed.  相似文献

Ion imaging methods have enabled identification of three mechanisms by which (79)Br(+) and (35)Cl(+) fragment ions are formed following one-color multiphoton excitation of BrCl molecules in the wavelength range 324.6 > lambda > 311.7 nm. Two-photon excitation within this range populates selected vibrational levels (v'= 0-5) of the [X (2)Pi(1/2)]5ssigma Rydberg state. Absorption of a third photon results in branching between (i) photoionization (i.e. removal of the Rydberg electron-a traditional 2 + 1 REMPI process) and (ii)pi*<--pi excitation within the core, resulting in formation of one or more super-excited states with Omega= 1 and configuration [A (2)Pi(1/2)]5ssigma. The fate of the latter states involves a further branching. They can autoionize (yielding BrCl(+)(X (2)Pi) ions in a wider range of v(+) states than formed by direct 2 + 1 REMPI). Further, one-photon absorption by the parent ions resulting from direct ionization or autoionization leads to formation of Br(+) and (energy permitting) Cl(+) fragment ions. Alternatively, the super-excited molecules can fragment to neutral atoms, one of which is in a Rydberg state. Complementary ab initio calculations lead to the conclusion that the observed [Cl**[(3)P(J)]4s + Br/Br*] products result from direct dissociation of the photo-prepared super-excited states, whereas [Br**[(3)P(J)]5p + Cl/Cl*] product formation involves interaction between the [A (2)Pi(1/2)]5ssigma and [X (2)Pi(1/2)]5psigma Rydberg potentials at extended Br-Cl bond lengths. Absorption of one further photon by the resulting Br** and Cl** Rydberg atoms leads to their ionization, and thus their appearance in the Br(+) and Cl(+) fragment ion images.  相似文献

Sulfur difluoride radicals in their ground state have been produced by a "laser-free" pulsed dc discharge of the SF6Ar gas mixtures in a supersonic molecular beam and detected by mass-selective resonance-enhanced multilphoton ionization (REMPI) spectroscopy in the wavelength range of 408-420 nm. Analyses of the (3+1) REMPI excitation spectrum have enabled identification of three hitherto unknown Rydberg states of this radical. Following the Rydberg state labeling in our previous work [see J. Phys. Chem. A 102, 7233 (1998)], these we label the K(5p1) [nu 0-0=71 837 cm(-1), omega'1(a1 sym str)=915 cm(-1)], L(5p2) [nu 0-0=72 134 cm(-1), omega'1(a1 sym str)=912 cm(-1)], and M(5p3) [nu 0-0=72 336 cm(-1), omega'1(a1 sym str)=926 cm(-1)] Rydberg states, respectively. [Origins, relative to the lowest vibrational level of the X 1A1 ground state, and vibrational frequencies of the symmetric S-F stretching mode are suggested by the numbers in brackets.] Photofragmentation process of SF2+-->SF+ +F that relates to the REMPI spectrum was discussed.  相似文献

The doubly excited valence (3p+3p) 2 (1)Delta(g) state of Na(2) is experimentally observed by using optical-optical double resonance spectroscopy. A single line Ar(+) laser (a total of nine lines) was used to pump the sodium dimers from thermally populated ground state X (1)Sigma(g) (+) to the intermediate B (1)Pi(u) state. Then, a single mode Ti:sapphire laser was used to probe the doubly excited 2 (1)Delta(g) state. Violet fluorescence emitted from the highly excited states (mainly 2 (3)Pi(g) or 3 (3)Pi(g) states which are transferred from 2 (1)Delta(g) state via collision) to the a (3)Sigma(u) (+) state was monitored by a filtered photomultiplier tube (PMT). A total of 582 rovibrational levels of 2 (1)Delta(g) state were observed, identified, and assigned to the vibrational and rotational quantum numbers in the range of 0< or =v< or =28 and 11< or =J< or =99, respectively. The absolute vibrational quantum number assignment was verified by comparing the totally resolved fluorescence with the calculated Franck-Condon factors between 2 (1)Delta(g) state and B (1)Pi(u) state. Dunham coefficients and Rydberg-Klein-Rees potential curve were derived from these observed quantum levels. The primary molecular constants of Na(2) 2 (1)Delta(g) state are T(e)=32 416.759(15) cm(-1), omega(e)=124.8484(36) cm(-1), B(e)=0.119 158(3) cm(-1), and R(e)=3.508 20(5) A.  相似文献

The photoionization efficiency (PIE) and pulsed field ionization-photoion (PFI-PI) spectra for sulfur atoms S(3P2,1,0) and S(1D2) resulting from the 193.3 nm photodissociation of CS2 have been measured using tunable vacuum ultraviolet (vuv) laser radiation in the frequency range of 82 750-83 570 cm(-1). The PIE spectrum of S(3P2,1,0) near their ionization threshold exhibits steplike structures. On the basis of the velocity-mapped ion-imaging measurements, four strong autoionizing peaks observed in the PIE measurement in this frequency range have been identified to originate from vuv excitation of S(1D2). The PFI-PI measurement reveals over 120 previously unidentified new Rydberg lines. They have been assigned as Rydberg states [3p3(4S composite function nd3 D composite function (n=17-64)] converging to the ground ionic state S+(4S composite function) formed by vuv excitations of S(3P2,1,0). The converging limits of these Rydberg series have provided more accurate values, 82 985.43+/-0.05, 83 162.94+/-0.05, and 83 559.04+/-0.05 cm(-1) for the respective ionization energies of S(3P0), S(3P1), and S(3P2) to form S+(4S composite function). The relative intensities of the PFI-PI bands for S(3P0), S(3P1), and S(3P2) have been used to determine the branching ratios for these fine structure states, S(3P0):S(3P1):S(3P2)=1.00:1.54:3.55, produced by photodissociation of CS2 at 193.3 nm.  相似文献

The photodissociation dynamics of Au-Xe leading to Xe(+) formation via the Ξ(1∕2)-X(2)Σ(+) (v('), 0) band system (41?500-41?800 cm(-1)) have been investigated by velocity map imaging. Five product channels have been indentified, which can be assigned to photoinduced charge transfer followed by photodissociation in either the neutral or the [Au-Xe](+) species. For the neutral species, charge transfer occurs via a superexcited Rydberg state prior to dissociative ionization, while single-photon excitation of the gold atom in Au(+)-Xe accesses an (Au(+))?-Xe excited state that couples to a dissociative continuum in Au-Xe(+). Mechanisms by which charge transfer occurs are proposed, and branching ratios for Xe(+) formation via the superexcited Rydberg state are reported. The bond dissociation energy for the first excited state of Au(+)-Xe is determined to be ~9720 ± 110 cm(-1).  相似文献
