Ultrasonic Wave Propagation in Progressively Loaded Multi-Wire Strands   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
In recent years methods based on guided ultrasonic waves gained increasing attention for the nondestructive evaluation and the health monitoring of multi-wire strands used in civil structures as prestressing tendons and stay cables. The study of wave propagation properties in such components has been challenging due to the load-dependent inter-wire contact and the helical geometry of the peripheral wires. The present paper addresses an experimental investigation on the ultrasonic wave propagation in seven-wire strands loaded at different stress levels. Wafer piezoelectric sensors are employed in a through transmission configuration for the generation and detection of stress waves. The response of the lowest-order longitudinal mode is studied at different levels of load. Those ultrasonic features, associated with the transmitted ultrasonic energy, sensitive to the variation of applied load are identified and discussed as possible means of a load monitoring.  相似文献

Methods based on guided ultrasonic waves are gaining increasing attention for the non-destructive inspection and condition monitoring of multi-wire strands used in civil structures such as prestressing tendons and cable stays. In this paper we examine the wave propagation problem in seven-wire strands at the level of the individual wires comprising the strand. Through a broad-band, laser ultrasonic setup and a time—frequency wavelet transform processing, longitudinal and flexural waves are characterized in terms of dispersive velocity and frequency-dependent attenuation. These vibrating frequencies propagating with minimal losses are identified as they are suitable for long-range inspection of the strands. In addition, the wave transmission spectra are found to be sensitive to the load level, suggesting the potential for continuous load monitoring in the field.  相似文献

计算了钢杆中纵向轴对称导波模态的衰减频散曲线和群 速度频散曲线. 分析了1~3MHz范围内高频纵向轴对称超声导波在钢杆中的传播特 性. 理论分析表明,各高阶纵向模态都存在一个衰减最小值,在此衰减最小值所对应频率下 的高阶模态能传播较远距离,可用于钢杆导波检测. 建立实验系统,采用轴对称同端激 励接收的方法,根据第1次端面回波做出群速度和端面回波幅值随频率变化曲线,实验结 果与理论分析基本吻合. 表明考虑材料衰减特性的钢杆频散曲线可以作为实验指导依据.  相似文献

In-situ health monitoring of the tensioning components such as strands, tendons, bars, anchorage bolts, etc. used in civil engineering structures, namely bridges, dams, nuclear power plants, etc. is extremely important to ensure security of users and environment. This paper deals with a guided ultrasonic wave procedure for monitoring the stress levels in seven-wire steel strands (15.7 mm in diameter). For this purpose, simplified acoustoelastic formulations were derived from the acoustoelasticity theory and acoustoelastic measurements were performed. The results from acoustoelastic calibration tests and an anchorage block of seven-wire steel strands are presented and discussed. They show the potential and the suitability of the proposed guided wave method for evaluating the service stress levels in the prestressed seven-wire steel strands.  相似文献

针对接地网圆钢杆腐蚀检测问题,本文进行了接地网圆钢杆高频纵向超声导波无损检测方法研究。首先对埋地环境下圆钢杆中纵向导波传播特性进行理论研究,分析了不同模态导波的群速度和衰减频散特性。研究发现,高阶纵向模态导波在衰减最小和群速度最大对应的频率处,在圆钢杆中传播能力强,是适合进行地埋圆钢杆导波检测试验的频率范围。在此基础上,进行了埋地圆钢杆高频纵向超声导波无损检测试验研究。结果发现,利用优选的检测参数可以很好地实现埋地圆钢杆中腐蚀缺陷检测。研究工作为接地网运行状态评价提供了很好的技术支撑。  相似文献

对结构中缺陷的检测和识别是无损检测中的一项重要研究课题,超声导波由于可在短时间内检测很远距离,故它的一个重要应用便是管材的检测。因而对导波检测信号的处理成为一重要研究内容,本文利用时-频分析方法中的小波变换和Wigner-Ville变换对管道和抽油杆缺陷的导波检测信号进行了分析处理。实验结果表明,进行小波变换后,缺陷回波信号的信噪比大大提高,直径仅1mm的小孔缺陷可容易地被识别出来,准确检测出其位置;通过对信号进行Wigner-Ville的相关变换,可同时在时频两域内对缺陷的回波信号进行分析,使缺陷辨别起来简单易行。两种信号处理方法的超声导波应用研究为以后导波信号的处理提供了新的实现依据。  相似文献

Measurements of the velocity of propagation of longitudinal pulses in wire ropes as a function of applied tension are reported. Twelve 3/8-in.-diam cables are investigated which differ in configuration, i.e., number of wires per strand and number of strands, and in the material from which the wires and the core are fabricated. The velocity of longitudinal waves is found to increase with increasing tension, approaching the velocity in a solid steel bar as the applied load is increased toward the failure load of the wire rope. The material from which the wires are fabricated and the number of strands, rather than the number of wires in a strand or its core material, appear to significantly affect the velocity of longitudinal pulses.  相似文献

在石油、天然气、化工和石化行业中,许多大型容器和储罐常用来储存带有腐蚀性液体或气体,其内壁极易被腐蚀变薄而影响其使用寿命。为了激励出合适的导波模态检测容器内壁的隐蔽腐蚀缺陷,本文对一块2.76mm厚并蚀刻了一个人工腐蚀缺陷的钢板进行了检测。实验中,采用了一发一收法,并分别激励了对称模态S1和反对称模态A1对该缺陷进行了检测。利用短时傅立叶变换对接收到的时域信号进行了时频分析,得到各导波模态的模态转换,频散和衰减结果。通过对比可以看出,S1模态更适用于检测隐蔽腐蚀缺陷。结果显示,通过选取合适的模态,导波检测方法有可能用于大型容器和储罐内壁腐蚀缺陷的检测。  相似文献

In this study, the feasibility of continuous, online monitoring of power lines using ultrasonic waves is considered. Local and global wave-based approaches for wire break detection in overhead transmission lines are presented. Both methods use a sending/receiving transducer to generate an ultrasonic, longitudinal, elastic wave in the cable. Defects in the cable cause a portion of the incident ultrasonic wave to be reflected back to the transducer, which when received, can be used to identify the presence of the defect. Although the transducers can only be attached to the surface of the cable, subsurface wires can also be interrogated since elastic energy spreads to these wires through friction contact. This study also explores how the elastic energy of a propagating wave becomes distributed among contacting rods via friction contact. This work focuses specifically on a two-rod system in which the wave energy from an excited “active” rod is transmitted to a neighboring “passive” rod through friction contact. An energy-based model is used to approximate the time average elastic wave power in the two rods as a function of propagation distance. Power predictions from the energy-based model compare well with experimental measurements and finite element simulations.  相似文献

根据弹性动力学理论,采用纵向导波与弯曲导波相结合的方法对螺柱所受轴向应力进行无损检测。计算了M22螺柱中纵向导波和弯曲导波的群速度频散曲线。根据频散曲线,确定了采用导波对螺柱轴向应力进行无损检测的最优检测信号频率范围(50~80 kHz),此频率范围的纵向导波与弯曲导波模态单一,并且频散性较低。分别计算了不同轴向应力σ作用下,多种频率的纵向导波和和弯曲导波在螺柱中传播的群速度值cgσrL和cgσrF。结果表明,随着轴向应力的增大,同频率纵向导波和弯曲导波的群速度皆呈线性递减趋势。利用纵向导波和弯曲导波群速度与轴向应力的线性关系及纵向导波和弯曲导波在轴向应力作用螺柱端面的反射时间tLσ和tσF,可以迅速确定螺柱所受轴向应力值。  相似文献

为对比揭示定、变载弯曲疲劳钢丝绳断裂机理及磨损演化特性,运用自制钢丝绳弯曲疲劳试验机开展钢丝绳定载、变载弯曲疲劳试验,通过人工拆股统计法和VW-9000系列高速度数码显微系统对比研究钢丝绳断丝分布、断丝数、断口和磨痕形貌等断裂机理,对比分析钢丝绳未断钢丝和断丝的磨痕尺寸演化特性. 结果表明:与钢丝绳定载弯曲疲劳相比,变载弯曲疲劳钢丝绳断丝出现较晚,芯股、螺旋股外层断丝数分别较多、较少,芯股外层钢丝断口挤压变形较大,芯股各层钢丝断口裂纹扩展区占比较低,芯股和螺旋股的各层钢丝磨痕尺寸总体较小,钢丝绳更易达到报废水平.   相似文献

This paper presents a theoretical study of transient ultrasonic guided waves generated by concentrated heating of the outer surface of an infinite anisotropic hollow circular cylinder. Generalized thermoelastic theory proposed by Lord and Shulman is adopted to model the dynamic thermoelastic behavior of the cylinder. The concentrated heat source model used is to represent heating due to a pulsed laser beam, which is focused on the outer surface of the cylinder. A semi-analytical finite element (SAFE) method is employed to evaluate guided wave modes in the cylinder. Using integral transform techniques, the modal wave forms are obtained in frequency and wave number domains. Time histories of the propagating modes are then calculated by applying inverse Fourier transformation in the time domain. Numerical results showing the dispersion curves for the group velocities of the propagating modes and transient radial displacements are presented. For this purpose it is assumed that the cylinder is made of transversely isotropic silicon nitride (Si3N4). Attention is focused on the propagation characteristics of longitudinal and flexural modes separately.  相似文献

The ultrasonic guided wave technology plays a significant role in the field of non-destructive testing as it employs acoustic waves with the advantages of high propagation efficiency and low energy consumption during the inspect process. However, the theoretical solutions to guided wave scattering problems with assumptions such as the Born approximation have led to the poor quality of the reconstructed results. Besides, the scattering signals collected from industry sectors are often noised and nonstationary. To address these issues, a novel physics-informed framework (PIF) for the quantitative reconstruction of defects by means of the integration of the data-driven method with the guided wave scattering analysis is proposed in this paper. Based on the geometrical information of defects and initial results obtained by the PIF-based analysis of defect reconstructions, a deep-learning neural network model is built to reveal the physical relationship between the defects and the noisy detection signals. This learning model is then adopted to assess and characterize the defect profiles in structures, improve the accuracy of the analytical model, and eliminate the impact of the noise pollution in the process of inspection. To demonstrate the advantages of the developed PIF for the complex defect reconstructions with the capability of denoising, several numerical examples are carried out. The results show that the PIF has greater accuracy for the reconstruction of defects in the structures than the analytical method, and provides a valuable insight into the development of artificial intelligence (AI)-assisted inspection systems with high accuracy and efficiency in the fields of structural integrity and condition monitoring.  相似文献

利用LS-DYNA970动态有限元分析软件对考虑横应变下的管道纵向超声导波损伤检测进行了数值模拟,分析了不同的激发频率对管道中导波频散现象的影响.选择适当的尺度和小波基函数,利用小波变换实现了对微弱且无法直接观测的缺陷检测信号的识别.同时通过时频分析研究了噪声信号在检测信号中的分布规律,并运用小波包分解和重构算法将信噪分离,实现高噪条件下管道微缺陷的损伤识别.  相似文献

激光激励的Lamb波信号具有较宽的频带,且包含多个模态信息。本文采用二维傅里叶变换和时频分析等信号分析技术用于检测信号中的模态成分及缺陷信息识别。首先,对200组激光Lamb波信号进行二维傅里叶变换,得到信号的频率-波数图,可识别出激光Lamb波信号中的低阶A0、S0和高阶模态,并且A0模态能量高,可用于缺陷检测。随后对有、无缺陷状态下Lamb波信号进行连续小波变换,从时频图中识别出缺陷信号的频率成分,进一步提取特定频率下的小波系数幅值信号,实现了缺陷信息的识别。结果表明,二维傅里叶变换能较好地识别激光Lamb波的模态成分,而提取出的连续小波变换系数图,能准确实现缺陷定位。  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the analysis of simple wire strands made from one layer of circular wires helically wrapped around a circular straight core wire. The undeformed configuration is the special case in which each of the surrounding helical wires touches its two adjacent neighbouring helical wires as well as touching the core wire. This forms a statically indeterminate contact problem. A simple finite element model is developed to analyse this situation. Numerical results show that contacts can occur simultaneously at all possible contact points when the strand is subjected to extension with both ends fixed against rotation.  相似文献

This paper investigates the damage detection based on the propagation of guided wave in bimetal composite pipes, which can identify damage locations in both axial and circumferential directions. The feasibility of the method is showed by numerical simulations using FEM code ANSYS. Mode analysis is used to evaluate the guided wave mode and its structure, which can provide the basis of the mode selection in measurements scheme. The guided wave propagation in a damaged pipe is computed by transient analysis. 16 nodes around the pipe wall, as probes, are used to record the guided wave signal. When Pseudo Margenau—Hill distribution (PMHD) for each signal is carried out, three types of modes could be found, which are led mode, excited mode and lag mode in sequences. Based on the results, the arrival time of the excited mode could be used to locate damage in axial direction, and the energy distribution around the pipe of lag mode is consistent with the damage in circumferential direction. The simulation illustrated the possibility of detecting damage location in both axial and circumferential directions based on longitudinal ultrasonic guided waves only.  相似文献

We report results from neutron diffraction experiments where partitioning of applied tensile load between the inner and outer wires of seven-wire parallel and quasi-parallel wire strands were measured while 1-all wires were undergoing elastic deformation, 2-where one wire within the bundle was undergoing plastic flow and, 3-when one or more wires fractured under load. The results indicate that mechanical interference and friction mechanisms have similar contributions to the load transferred to fractured wires, and both mechanisms should be included in analytical or numerical formulations of strain partitioning in quasi-parallel wire cables.  相似文献
