One considers singular parabolic equations of the form (u)/t–u0,where sign u is a multivalued function, equal to -I for u<0, to 1 for u>0, and to the segment [-I,I] for u=0. Such a class of equations contains, in particular, the model for the two-phase Stefan problem, the porous medium equation, and the plasma equation. We give a general criterion for the intrinsic ultracontractivity of Dirichlet Laplacians – D on domainsD ofR d d 3, based on the Lieb's formula. It applies to various classes of domains (e.g. John, Hölder andL p-averaging domains) and gives new conditions for intrinsic ultracontractivity in terms of the Minkowski dimension of the boundary D. The explicit solution of the equation u=f in a plane infinite angle, satisfying on one side of the angle a Neumann condition and on the other one the condition u/n + hu/r + u= (/r is the tangential derivative, C, 0), is constructed and estimated in weighted Sobolev spaces. The obtained estimates are sharp with respect to the differential order and are uniform with respect to . Steady, linear hydromagnetic boundary layer at the free surface of a rotating baroclinic fluid is analysed under Boussinesq approximation. The flow is driven by the buoyancy forces which exist due to the density variations associated with baroclinicity. Meridional circulations of mass flux and electric current flux occur due to the boundary layer suction as well as due to the hydromagnetic effects. The boundary layer suction dominates and the dynamics of the flow reduce to that of nonmagnetic case for 2<O(E), whereE is the Ekman number and 2 (=B 0 2 /) is the magnetic interaction parameter, which represents the ratio of hydromagnetic to Coriolis forces. When 2>O(E), meridional circulation induced in the interior due to hydromagnetic effects is stronger than that can be supported by the boundary layer. The electric current flux through the interior is stronger for any value of than that can be supported by the boundary layer. Further it is argued that hydromagnetic effects suppress the laminated flow (v/z0) in the interior. As a result, the meridional circulations are strong when =O(1).
Zusammenfassung Die stationäre lineare hydromagnetische Grenzschicht an der freien Oberfläche eines rotierenden, baroklinischen Fluids wird mit Hilfe der Boussinesq-Näherung untersucht. Die Strömung wird durch die Auftriebskräfte angetrieben, die durch die baroklinischen Dichte-Variationen verursacht werden. Die meridionale Zirkulation des Massenstromes und des elektrischen Stromes wird durch die Grenzschicht-Saugwirkung und durch hydromagnetische Effekte erzeugt. Die Grenzschicht-Saugwirkung dominiert und die Strömung reduziert sich auf den nicht-magnetischen Fall für 2<O(E); dabei istE die Ekman-Zahl und 2 (=B 0 2 /) ist der magnetische Kopplungs-Parameter, der das Verhältnis der hydromagnetischen zu den Coriolis-Kräften gibt. Wenn 2>O(E) ist, wird die meridionale Zirkulation, die durch hydromagnetische Effekte erzeugt worden ist, stärker als die, welche durch Grenzschichten erzeugt werden kann. Der elektrische Strom im Innern ist für alle Werte von größer als der Wert den die Grenzschicht verursacht. Weiterhin wird gezeigt, daß hydromagnetische Effekte die Laminal-Strömung (v/z0) im Innern unterdrückt. Es ergibt sich, daß die meridionalen Zirkulationen stark sind für =O(1).

In the exceptional case, ( m+2 V) has codimension 2m in ker m V and we show that the quotient module ker m V/ m+2 V is a spin module for Sp(2m,K). Summary A characterization of compact sets in Lp (0, T; B) is given, where 1P and B is a Banach space. For the existence of solutions in nonlinear boundary value problems by the compactness method, the point is to obtain compactness in a space Lp (0,T; B) from estimates with values in some spaces X, Y or B where XBY with compact imbedding XB. Using the present characterization for this kind of situations, sufficient conditions for compactness are given with optimal parameters. As an example, it is proved that if {fn} is bounded in Lq(0,T; B) and in L loc 1 (0, T; X) and if {fn/t} is bounded in L loc 1 (0, T; Y) then {fn} is relatively compact in Lp(0,T; B), p相似文献

The problem of solving the one-dimensional heat equation /t - 2/x2 = f(x, t) subject to given initial and nonlocal conditions is considered. It is solved in the Laplace transform domain by taking the Laplace transform of the unknown function with respect to time t. We prove the surjectivity of the symbol map of the Frechet algebra obtained by completing an algebra of convolution and multiplication operators in the topology generated by all L2-Sobolev norms. The proof is based on an n of Egorov's theorem valid for non-homogeneous principal symbols, discussed in [5], [6]. We use the hyperbolic equation u/t=i|D|u, 0<<1, which has its characteristic flow constant at infinity, so that no differentiability of the symbol is required there.  相似文献

This paper studies the Vlasov–Monge–Ampère system (VMA), a fully non-linear version of the Vlasov–Poisson system (VP) where the (real) Monge–Ampère equation det 2/xi xj = substitutes for the usual Poisson equation. This system can be derived as a geometric approximation of the Euler equations of incompressible fluid mechanics in the spirit of Arnold and Ebin. Global existence of weak solutions and local existence of smooth solutions are obtained. Links between the VMA system, the VP system and the Euler equations are established through rigorous asymptotic analysis.  相似文献

Conditions for the existence of a strong solution are presented and the existence of a natural generalized solution in the general case is established. This paper concerns the investigation of the stabilization of solutions of the Cauchy problem for a system of equations of the form u/t = u + fi(u, v); v/t = v + F2(u, v). It is proved that under certain assumptions the behavior of solutions as t is determined by mutual arrangement of the set of initial conditions {(u, v): u = f1(x), v =f 2(x), xRn} and the trajectories of the system of ordinary differential equations du/dt = F1(u, v), dv/dt = F2(u, v). Zusammenfassung Eine neuentwickelte Methode für untere Schranken und das Rayleigh-Ritzverfahren für obere Schranken werden von den Verfassern dazu angewandt, die Eigenfrequenzen der Schwingungen von dünnen gleichförmigen, rechteckigen Platten mit freien Rändern abzuschätzen. Die Anwendbarkeit des Verfahrens für untere Schranken wird hervorgehoben, und es werden Berechnungen für eine Symmetrieklasse von rechteckigen sowie für eine Unterklasse von quadratischen Platten angegeben. Die dadurch entstehenden Schranken führen zu einer Verbesserung bisher veröffentlichter Resultate und weisen auf die Brauchbarkeit der Methode für untere Schranken hin.

In this paper it is shown that if C is Fredholm, then is bounded away from zero on a neighborhood of D. We consider the controlled parabolic obstacle problem with the controlu appearing through the Neumann condition y/v=u on the boundary of an open domain ofR N . Given a smooth open subsetQ 0 of ×(0,T) we prove that the problemQ 0 {(x, t) Q, y u (x, t)=0} is approximately solvable. In this paper, we describe a method for extending (in some approximated sense) solutions of a nonlinear P.D.E. on a domain , to solutions in a domain containing . Such an extension property, the Runge property, is well known for a large class of linear problems including elliptic equations. We prove here the Runge property for semilinear problems of the kind -u+g(u)=f, with f L loc 1 (N). (As a consequence, we get infinitely many solutions for these problems). The proof is based on a homotopy method, and requires a refinement of the linear results: We prove that the Runge extension v on of a solution u in for a linear elliptic equation Lu=f can be choosen in order to depend continuously on u and the coefficients of L.  相似文献
