The dynamics of a two-level spin system dressed by bichromatic radiation is studied under the conditions of double resonance when the frequency of one (microwave) field is equal to the Larmor frequency of the spin system and the frequency of the other (radio-frequency) field ωrf is close to the Rabi frequency ω1 in a microwave field. It is shown theoretically that Rabi oscillations between dressed-spin states with the frequency ? are accompanied by higher-frequency oscillations at frequencies nωrf and nωrf ± ?, where n = 1, 2,.... The most intense among these are the signals corresponding to n = 1. The counter-rotating (antiresonance) components of the RF field give rise to a shift of the dressed-state energy, i.e., to a frequency shift similar to the Bloch-Siegert shift. In particular, this shift is manifested as the dependence of the Rabi-oscillation frequency ? on the sign of the detuning ω1 ? ωrf from resonance. In the case of double resonance, the oscillation amplitude is asymmetric; i.e., the amplitude at the sum frequency ωrf + ? increases, while the amplitude at the difference frequency ωrf ? ? decreases. The predicted effects are confirmed by observations of the nutation signals of the electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) of E1 centers in quartz and should be taken into account to realize qubits with a low Rabi frequency in solids.  相似文献

The dynamics of multiphoton transitions in a two-level spin system excited by transverse microwave and longitudinal RF fields with the frequencies ωmw and ωrf, respectively, is analyzed. The effective time-independent Hamiltonian describing the “dressed” spin states of the “spin + bichromatic field” system is obtained by using the Krylov-Bogoliubov-Mitropolsky averaging method. The direct detection of the time behavior of the spin system by the method of nonstationary nutations makes it possible to identify the multiphoton transitions for resonances ω0 = ωmw + rωrf0 is the central frequency of the EPR line, r = 1, 2), to measure the amplitudes of the effective fields of these transitions, and to determine the features generated by the inhomogeneous broadening of the EPR line. It is shown that the Bloch-Siegert shifts for multiphoton resonances at the inhomogeneous broadening of spectral lines reduce only the nutation amplitude but do not change their frequencies.  相似文献

The transient nutation of states dressed by a microwave field in a two-level system (E1 centers in a quartz crystal) is observed in pulsed electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) in the course of an additional pulse of a linearly polarized radio-frequency (rf) field that has an amplitude 2B2 and is applied parallel to the static magnetic field. It is shown that, when the frequency of the rf field coincides with the frequency of nutation of the bare spin system, the signal of this nutation is modulated by the nutation of dressed states at the frequency ω2B2, where γ is the electron gyromagnetic ratio. The decay time of nutation of dressed states is considerably (no less than four times) longer than that of bare states of E1 centers due to spin-spin relaxation and correlates with the spin-lattice relaxation time in the rotating coordinate system.  相似文献

Two-photon transient nutation is observed in a two-level spin system (E1 centers in crystalline quartz) using a transverse microwave field and a linearly polarized rf field oriented along a static magnetic field in the electron paramagnetic resonance. Nutation is excited when the sum of the energies of a microwave photon and a rf photon is equal to the energy difference between two spin states. The two-photon nature of nutation is confirmed by measuring its frequency as a function of the amplitude and frequency of the rf field as well as the amplitude of the microwave field. The amplitude of the effective field of two-photon transitions is measured. It is shown that the decay rate of two-photon nutation is close to the decay rate for one-photon nutation and is determined by the spin-spin interaction between E1 centers.  相似文献

Decay of Rabi oscillations of equivalent spins diluted in diamagnetic solid matrix and coupled by magnetic dipole interactions is theoretically studied. It is shown that these interactions result in random shifts of spin transient nutation frequencies and thus lead to the decay of the transient signal. Averaging over random spatial distribution of spins within the solid and over their spectral positions within magnetic resonance line, we obtain analytical expressions for the decay of Rabi oscillations. The rate of the decay in the case when the half-width of magnetic resonance line exceeds Rabi frequency is found to depend on the intensity of resonant microwave field and on the spin concentration. The results are compared with the literature data for E1 centers in glassy silica and [AlO4]0 centers in quartz.  相似文献

A spectrometer specifically designed for systematic studies of the spin dynamics underlying Dynamic Nuclear Polarization (DNP) in solids at low temperatures is described. The spectrometer functions as a fully operational NMR spectrometer (144 MHz) and pulse EPR spectrometer (95 GHz) with a microwave (MW) power of up to 300 mW at the sample position, generating a MW B(1) field as high as 800 KHz. The combined NMR/EPR probe comprises of an open-structure horn-reflector configuration that functions as a low Q EPR cavity and an RF coil that can accommodate a 30-50 μl sample tube. The performance of the spectrometer is demonstrated through some basic pulsed EPR experiments, such as echo-detected EPR, saturation recovery and nutation measurements, that enable quantification of the actual intensity of MW irradiation at the position of the sample. In addition, DNP enhanced NMR signals of samples containing TEMPO and trityl are followed as a function of the MW frequency. Buildup curves of the nuclear polarization are recorded as a function of the microwave irradiation time period at different temperatures and for different MW powers.  相似文献

The design of a ECR ion source in a working mode with a ωecr resonance surfaces and a 2ωrf enclosed surface is presented.The 0.8T axial mirror field and 0.8T radial hexapole field are introduced with detailed discussions.The computational results show that the axial length of the ωecr resonance surface in the improved ECR ion source is extended significantly compared with the original CAPRICE one and a closed 2ωrf equigauss surface is also formed.The new topology of the magnetic field in the improved ECR ion source will largely raise the intensity of high charged ion on the basis of the analysis of ionization mechanism.  相似文献

We have derived a closed-form expression for the solid echo signal of quadrupolarI= 1 nuclei after the pulse sequence (θ1)x–τ–(θ2)y–tfor arbitrary values of the RF nutation frequency ω1= γB1and the quadrupolar frequency ωQ. In the case of single crystals both the true echo term of this expression and its induction-signal-like terms are important as shown by experiments on14N nuclei in NH4ClO4crystal. Conditions for obtaining the maximal echo in powder samples are presented. A very lowB1field together with long RF pulses may distort even the central part of the spectrum, resulting in strange looking apparent spectra.  相似文献

The dispersion characteristics of a plasma in a pump field ??(t) = ?? sub ω0t + ??1 sin ω1t are considered. Firstly we assume, that the second wave is weak (|??1| ? |??0|) and the frequency ω1 is near sω01 = sω0 + Ω,Ω ? ω0). We obtain the dispersion equation, describing the parametric coupling of the waves driven by the strong field ??0 sin ω0t under the resonance condition ω0 ≈ ωLe/P and derive the expressions for the growth rates (ωLe is the electron LANGMUIR frequency; s, p are integers). In the second part it is shown, that a strong field ??1 with a frequency ω1 much larger than ω LeLe ≈ pω0) stabilizes the plasma; the growth rates are reduced and the frequency region of the parametric instability is contracted.  相似文献

The relaxation and off-resonance effects on the NQR (nuclear quadrupole resonance) nutation frequency and on the damping constant of the nutation spectrum for spinsI = 3/2 are considered. Using the solution of dynamic equations for nuclear magnetisation in the rotating frame, we obtained a general expression for determination of the asymmetry parameter η, which includes the relaxation time and frequency offset. Specific requirements for the RF (radio frequency) field allowing the presence of nutation and the sufficient resolution of nutation spectra are determined. It is shown that at low RF field it is necessary to take into account theT 2 relaxation effect on the location of frequency singularities in the nutation spectrum. The values ofH 1 andT 2 must be exactly known in nutation NQR spectroscopy. The 2D NQR spin-echo separation technique was used for determination of transverse relaxation of individual spin packets in case of inhomogeneously broadened NQR lines, so that the asymmetry parameter could then be determined by the nutation experiment with consideration of relaxation effects and frequency offset. The theoretical results are confirmed experimentally for the narrow and inhomogeneously broadened 2D-nutation NQR spectra in several molecular compounds containing the35Cl and75As nuclei.  相似文献

The ignition of a 2.45 GHz microwave plasma source by a temporary local magnetic field quenching to ECR value has been studied. The source operates at high magnetic fields (ωce > ω) and at overcritical electron densities (ωpe > ω). We consider the influence of an ω-dependent ionic dielectric constant ?(ω) on the properties of a superconductor. Assuming that the pairing interaction is proportional to ?2 we have solved the Eliashberg equations for this case, both for imaginary and real frequencies. The interaction potential depends on a coupling constant λ and on a longitudinal phonon frequency Ω. The dielectric constant is assumed to be independent of wavevector q, and to depend on frequency through the expression: ?(ω) = (ω2 - ω2long)/(ω2 - ω2trans), where ωlong, ωtrans are the frequencies of optical phonons of the dielectric. We find that along the imaginary frequency axis (but not for real frequencies) the weighted phonon propagator can be modeled by an appropriate choice of a cutoff frequency and an effective coupling constant. The influence of ?(ω) on Tc, the gap δ(ω), and the renormalization function Z(ω) are studied and it is found that these quantities increase significantly with the dielectric constant.  相似文献

In the frame work of TREDER 's gravitational theory we consider two classes of field equations which are derivable from two classes of LAGRANGE ian densities Ω(1)1, ω2), Ω(2)(s?1, s?2). ω1, ω2; s?1, s?2 are parameters. Ω(2)1, ω2) gives us field equations which are up to the post-NEWTON ian approximation in the sense of NORDTVEDT , THORNE and WILL equivalent to the field equations given by BRANS and DICKE . For ω2 = ?1 ?2ω1 field equations follow from Ω(1)1, ?1 ?2ω1) which are in the above mentioned sense of post-NEWTON ian approximation equivalent to EINSTEIN 's equations. The field equations following from Ω(1)1, ω2) have a cosmological model with the well known cosmological singularities for T → ± ∞ in case that ω1/(1 +3ω12) ? γ > 0. For ω1/(1 +3ω12) ≤ 0 cosmological models with no cosmological singularities exist. From Ω(2)(s?1, s?2) we obtain field equations which at the best give us perihelion rotation 7% above EINSTEIN 's value and light deflection 7% below the corresponding EINSTEIN 's value. But in that case we are able to show the existence of a cosmological model without any cosmological singularity.  相似文献

The pump–probe experiment is typically used to study relaxation phenomena in nonlinear optical systems. Here we use it as a tool to study the phenomenon of anomalous Rabi oscillations in graphene that was predicted recently in single-layer graphene. Unlike conventional Rabi oscillations, anomalous Rabi oscillations are unique to graphene (and possibly to surface states of topological insulators (TIs)), attributable to the pseudospin (conventional spin for TI) degree of freedom and Dirac-fermion character of the graphene system. A pump pulse of a finite duration long enough to contain a large number of cycles induces a current density that oscillates with the frequency of the pump pulse. The amplitude associated with these fast oscillations is seen to exhibit much slower oscillations with a frequency given by \({ 2 \omega ^2_{\mathrm {R}} }/{ \omega } \) – the anomalous Rabi frequency, where ω R is the conventional Rabi frequency and ω is the frequency of the external pump field. This effect is easily probed by a probe pulse subsequent to the pump, where it manifests itself as periodic oscillations of the probe susceptibility as a function of pump duration at each probe frequency. Alternatively, it is also seen as an oscillatory function of the pump–probe delay with other variables remaining fixed. This period corresponds to the anomalous Rabi frequency. An analysis of the previously reported experimental data confirms the presence of anomalous Rabi oscillations in graphene.  相似文献

A novel approach to determination of the asymmetry parameter of the EFG tensor from zero-field nutation NQR spectra of the spinI = 3/2 nuclei in powder samples is reported. The proposed theoretical treatment uses lineshape analysis of the nutation NQR spectra by the method of line moments. The analytical formulas for the lineshape of the powder nutation spectrum are given. It is shown that the asymmetry parameter can be determined from the second moment 〈ω2〉 and the frequency of only one singularity ω2 of the nutation spectrum. It is also shown that the asymmetry parameter can be determined from the second and fourth spectrum moments alone. The method is successfully demonstrated for the simulated nutation NQR spectra of the spinI = 3/2 nuclei in powder samples.  相似文献

Applicability of continuous wave multiquantum EPR methods to study relaxation times at X-band is examined. Multiquantum transitions excited in a two-level system by tetrachromatic irradiation are used for these studies. The Bloch equation model is applied to simulate lineshapes of the three quantum transitions as a function of frequency difference between exciting fields. The dependence of multiquantum transition signals on relaxation times and microwave amplitude is shown. On this basis a method of deducing relaxation times from these signals is formulated. The case of a homogeneously and inhomogeneously broadened resonance line is considered. Two experimental methods are used to verify the proposed hypothesis: the X-band continuous wave multiquantum EPR with four frequencies microwave field and saturation recovery EPR. The values of T1 obtained from CW MQ EPR and SR EPR are compared.  相似文献

Two qualitatively different types of resonant destabilization of phonon stimulated emission (SE) are discovered in experiments where a 9-GHz multimode ruby laser is periodically modulated (the electromagnetic pump frequency is 23 GHz). In the case of deep pump modulation at low modulation frequencies (ω=70–200 Hz, where ωm is the modulation frequency), a fast random alternation of microwave phonon SE modes is observed. This destabilization range corresponds to relaxation resonance in optical lasers. Outside the relaxation resonance range (at ωm≈10 Hz), the other type of resonant destabilization of stationary phonon SE is observed. This destabilization shows up as very slow regular self-detunings of the microwave SE spectra. The period of such self-organized motions depends significantly on ωm and changes by several orders of magnitude when ωm varies within several percent. The second type of SE resonant destabilization is explained in terms of antiphase energy exchange between modes in a modulated phaser.  相似文献
