We consider the problem of stabilization of a homogeneous bilinear system at zero. We assume that the system can be reduced to a form that admits feedback linearization at all points of the phase space outside a set N of measure zero. For such systems, we construct a variable structure feedback solving the stabilization problem under the condition that N is not an invariant set of the closed system.  相似文献

We study a discrete system in a neighborhood of a quasi-periodic trajectory. We obtain conditions for reducing a system in this neighborhood to a system with quasi-periodic coefficients. We give a fairly simple geometric proof that an equilibrium point of a Hamiltonian system of two degrees of freedom is Liapunov stable in a degenerate case. That is the 1: −1 resonance case where the linearized system has double pure imaginary eigenvalues ±, ω ≠ 0 and the Hamiltonian is indefinite. The linear system is weakly unstable, but if a particular coefficient in the normalized Hamiltonian is of the correct sign then Moser’s invariant curve theorem can be applied to show that the equilibrium point is encased in invariant tori and thus it is stable.  相似文献

We consider the Hamiltonian of a system of two fermions on a one-dimensional integer lattice. We prove that the number of bound states N(k) is a nondecreasing function of the total quasimomentum of the system k ∈ [0, π]. We describe the set of discontinuity points of N(k) and evaluate the jump N(k +0) − N(k) at the discontinuity points. This paper considers anN-unit series system supported by a warm standby unit and a single repair facility. Suppose that the operating units and the standby unit have constant failure ratesa anda 1, respectively. When the system is down, all the operable units have constant failure ratea 2. The repair time of a failed unit has an arbitrary distribution. We consider a discrete-time tree network of polling servers where all packets are routed to the same node (called node 0), from which they leave the network. All packets have unit size and arrive from the exterior according to independent batch Bernoulli arrival processes. The service discipline of each node is work-conserving and the service discipline of node 0 has to be HoL-based, which is an additional assumption that is satisfied by, a.o., m i -limited service, exhaustive service, and priority disciplines. Let a type i packet be a packet that visits queue i of node 0. We establish a distributional relation between the number of type i packets in the network and in a single station system, and we show equality of the mean end-to-end delay of type i packets in the two systems. Essentially this reduces an arbitrary tree network to a much simpler system of one node, while preserving the mean end-to-end delay of type i packets.   相似文献

We construct and study a distributed mathematical model of oxidation ofCO in a planar layer of aPd zeolite catalyst. The model is a system of ordinary differential equations describing a chain of locally connected chemical oscillators. Each oscillator is an oscillatory process of the reaction occurring in the corresponding layer of zeolite. The peculiarity of this chain system is that the connection between the oscillators is parametric, since it is implemented through diffusion ofCO in the gaseous phase. We find conditions for existence and uniqueness of various types of oscillations in the system, including synchronous, quasi-periodic, and chaotic. We construct the phase diagram on the plane of two external parameters and give a bifurcation analysis, studying the scenario of transition to chaos. Two tables, 12 figures. Bibliography: 15 titles. In this paper, we deal with a typical gradient elliptic system involving a pair of p(x) and q(x)-Laplacian operators. Furthermore, the system may have nonlinearities with sign-changing. Precisely, we are interested in seeking at least one weak nontrivial solution. In this way, we establish explicitly a pair of lower and upper solutions having radial forms and related to the system. By applying the theory of monotone operators, we show that the system possesses at least one non-trivial and bounded solution.  相似文献

For a system of differential equations with small parameter at a part of derivatives, a linear deviation of the argument, and a turning point, we obtained conditions, under which its solutions are solutions of a system of differential equations with small parameter at a part of derivatives such that its matrices possess the asymptotic expansions at |ε| ≤ ε0 with the coefficients holomorphic at |x| ≤ x 0 . The existence and the infinite differentiability of a solution of the system of differential equations with small parameter at a part of derivatives and with a linear deviation of the argument in the presence of a turning point are proved.  相似文献

We find the eigenfunctions of a generalized Frankl problem with the use of Bessel functions. We prove that these eigenfunctions form a Riesz basis in the space L 2(D +), where D + is the elliptic part of the domain. In addition, we prove the Riesz basis property of a trigonometric function system and the completeness of this system in the space L 2(0, π/2).  相似文献

We consider a particular case of the nonlinear heat equation on a straight line. A family of exact solutions of the form p(t) + q(t) cos (x/ ) is constructed, where p(t) and q(t) satisfy some dynamical system. A detailed analysis of the system is given. The existence of blowup solutions as well as solutions that decay to a nonzero background is proved for the Cauchy problem for the given equation. Part of the solutions from this family are close in a certain sense to the analytical solution of the nonlinear equation with power nonlinearities evolving in the S-regime. We consider an initial boundary value problem for a non-linear differential system consisting of one equation of parabolic type coupled with a n × n semi-linear hyperbolic system of first order. This system of equations describes the compressible miscible displacement of n + 1 chemical species in a porous medium, in the absence of diffusion and dispersion. We assume the viscosity of the fluid mixture to be constant. We prove, in three space dimensions, the existence of a global weak solution with non-smooth initial data for the concentration. In this paper, we deal with an M/G/1 Bernoulli feedback queue and apply it to the design of a production system. New arrivals enter a “main queue” before processing. Processed items leave the system with probability 1-p or are fed back with probability p into an intermediate finite “feedback queue”. As soon as the feedback queue is fully occupied, the items in the feedback queue are released, all at a time, into the main queue for another processing. Using transform methods, various performance measures are derived such as the joint distribution of the number of items in each queue and the dispatching rate. We then derive the optimal buffer size which minimizes the overall operating cost under a cost structure. In 1956 Whitham gave a nonlinear theory for computing the intensity of an acoustic pulse of an arbitrary shape. The theory has been used very successfully in computing the intensity of the sonic bang produced by a supersonic plane. [4.] derived an approximate quasi-linear equation for the propagation of a short wave in a compressible medium. These two methods are essentially nonlinear approximations of the perturbation equations of the system of gas-dynamic equations in the neighborhood of a bicharacteristic curve (or rays) for weak unsteady disturbances superimposed on a given steady solution. In this paper we have derived an approximate quasi-linear equation which is an approximation of perturbation equations in the neighborhood of a bicharacteristic curve for a weak pulse governed by a general system of first order quasi-linear partial differential equations in m + 1 independent variables (t, x1,…, xm) and derived Gubkin's result as a particular case when the system of equations consists of the equations of an unsteady motion of a compressible gas. We have also discussed the form of the approximate equation describing the waves propagating upsteam in an arbitrary multidimensional transonic flow.  相似文献

For a system of first-order partial differential equations describing a catalytic process in a fluidized bed, we consider a mixed problem in the half-strip 0 ≤ xh, t ≥ 0. We prove the existence and uniqueness of a bounded summable generalized solution and study its stability. The vortex-wave system is a coupling of the two-dimensional vorticity equation with the point-vortex system. It is a model for the motion of a finite number of concentrated vortices moving in a distributed vorticity background. In this article, we prove existence of a weak solution to this system with an initial background vorticity in L p , p>2, up to the time of first collision of point vortices.  相似文献

We study periodic solutions for a quasi-linear system, which naturally arises in search of integrable Hamiltonian systems of the form H = p 2/2 + u(q, t). Our main result classifies completely periodic solutions for such a 3 by 3 system. We prove that the only periodic solutions have the form of traveling waves so, in particular, the potential u is a function of a linear combination of t and q. This result implies that the there are no nontrivial cases of the existence of a fourth power integral of motion for H: if it exists, then it is equal necessarily to the square of a quadratic integral. Our main observation for the quasi-linear system is the genuine non-linearity of the maximal and minimal eigenvalues in the sense of Lax. We use this observation in the hyperbolic region, while the “elliptic” region is treated using the maximum principle.  相似文献

We study the unsteady rotary motion of a sphere immersed in a Stokes fluid. The equation of motion for the sphere leads to an integro-differential equation, and we are interested in the asymptotic behavior in time of the solution. Preparing initially the system (sphere + fluid) as a stationary state, we prove that the angular velocity of the sphere slows down with a law t −3/2 if no other forces than the one exerted by the fluid act on the sphere, while if the sphere is subject also to an elastic torque the asymptotic behavior of the angular position of the sphere is t γ , with γ = 5/2 if the initial angular velocity is zero, γ = 3/2 otherwise. This behavior is due to the memory effect of the surrounding fluid. We discuss briefly other initial preparations of the system.  相似文献
