Bulk nanocomposites based on superconducting metals Pb and In embedded into matrices of natural chrysotile asbestos with the nanotube internal diameter d ~ 6 nm have been fabricated and studied. The low-temperature electrical and magnetic properties of the nanocomposites demonstrate the superconducting transition with the transition critical temperature Tc ≈ (7.18 ± 0.02) K for the Pb–asbestos nanocomposite (this temperature is close to Tc bulk = 7.196 K for bulk Pb). The electrical measurements show that In nanofilaments in asbestos have Tc ~ 3.5–3.6 K that is higher than Tc bulk = 3.41 K for bulk In. It is shown that the temperature smearing of the superconducting transition in the temperature dependences of the resistance R(T) ΔT ≈ 0.06 K for the Pb–asbestos and ΔT ≈ 1.8 K for the In–asbestos are adequately described by the fluctuation Aslamazov–Larkin and Langer–Ambegaokar theories. The resistive measurements show that the critical magnetic fields of the nanofilaments extrapolated to T = 0 K are Hc(0) ~ 47 kOe for Pb in asbestos and Hc(0) ~ 1.5 kOe for In in asbestos; these values are significantly higher than the values for the bulk materials (H\(H_{\rm{c}}^{\rm{bulk}}\) = 803 Oe for Pb and \(H_{\rm{c}}^{\rm{bulk}}\) = 285 Oe for In). The results of the electrical measurements for Pb?asbestos and In–asbestos agree with the data for the magnetic-field dependences of the magnetic moment in these nanocomposites.  相似文献

Magnetization studies of YBCO:BaZrO3 composite superconductor have been done over a wide range of temperature and applied magnetic field using MPMS SQUID VSM and the results are compared with that of pure YBCO. The analysis of the observed results indicate that there is considerable improvement in the values of critical current density (JC) and pinning force density (Fp) of YBCO:BaZrO3 composite samples as compared to pure YBCO sample in the entire investigated range of applied magnetic field and temperatures ranging from 4 to 77 K. The variation of JC with reduced temperature t (=T/TC) for the composite samples has been found to be similar to that of pure YBCO sample indicating similar nature of the vortex interaction with pinning centres in both pure and composite samples. The enhancement in the value of JC and Fp in the composite samples as compared to pure YBCO sample has been attributed to the increased defect density in the composite samples due to the presence of BZO particles in YBCO matrix.  相似文献

The unit cell parameters a and c of nonirradiated [N(C2H5)4]2ZnBr4 crystals in the temperature region 90–300 K and of samples irradiated with γ rays to doses of 106 and 5 × 106 R in the 270-to 300-K interval were measured using x-ray diffraction. The data obtained were used to derive the thermal expansion coefficients αa and αc. It is shown that the parameter a increases and the parameter c decreases with increasing temperature. In the vicinity of the phase transition (PT) at T = 285 K, the temperature dependences of a(T) and c(T) reveal anomalies in the form of jumps and the αa(T) and αc(T) curves have a maximum and a minimum, respectively. The heat capacity of nonirradiated and irradiated [N(C2H5)4]2ZnBr4 samples was measured by adiabatic calorimetry. A maximum was found in the C p(T) curve at T = 285 K. Both x-ray diffraction and heat capacity measurements showed that the PT temperature decreased after γ irradiation.  相似文献

The temperature dependences of the heat capacity C p (T) and thermal expansion coefficient α(T) of NaNbO3 ceramic samples have been investigated in the temperature range from 2 to 800 K. In addition to the anomalies associated with the known phase transitions at temperatures T 6 ≈ 265 K, T 5 ≈ 638 K, T 4 ≈ 760 K, and T 3 ≈ 793 K, anomalies in the behavior of C p (T) and α(T) have been observed near T 5″ ≈ 500 K and T 5′ ≈ 600 K. It has been found that all the observed structural transformations, according to the values of the entropy change, are not related to the ordering of structural elements. It has been shown that, with an increase in the temperature, the unit cell volume during the phase transitions near 265, 515, 604, and 638 K decreases. The specific features of the transition to the phase R3c have been examined. Two possible scenarios of the sequence of phase transformations in the temperature range between T 5 and T 6 have been analyzed.  相似文献

The heat capacity C p of a biocarbon template based on white eucalyptus wood is measured at a constant pressure in the temperature range T = 3.5–300 K. The phonon mean free path l for a white-eucalyptus biocarbon template is calculated from the measured dependence C p (T) and data available in the literature on the phonon thermal conductivity and velocity of sound. It is established that, in the range 100–300 K, the phonon mean free path l is nearly constant and equal to ~13 Å. This value is close to the smallest size of graphite-like crystallites (~12 Å), which was derived earlier from x-ray diffraction data for a quasi-amorphous biocarbon template.  相似文献

Temperature dependences of specific heat Cp(T) and coefficient of thermal expansion ;(T) for Na0.95Li0.05NbO3 sodium-lithium niobate ceramic samples are investigated in the temperature range of 100–800 K. The Cp(T) and α(T) anomalies at T3 = 310 ± 3 K, T2 = 630 ± 8 K, and T1 = 710 ± 10 K are observed, which correspond to the sequence of phase transitions N ? Q ? S(R) ? T2(S). The effect of heat treatment of the samples on the sequence of structural distortions was established. It is demonstrated that annealing of the samples at 603 K leads to splitting of the anomaly corresponding to the phase transition QR/S in two anomalies. After sample heating to 800 K, the only anomaly is observed in both the Cp(T) and ;(T) dependence. Possible mechanisms of the observed phenomena are discussed.  相似文献

La0.7Sr0.3Mn0.9Cu0.1O3 ceramic samples have been obtained by the conventional method of the solid-phase reaction, and their resistivity ρ has been investigated in a temperature range from 50 to 300 K in magnetic fields B = 0–20 T. Dependences are typical of perovskite manganites with a maximum at T max = 140–150 K and an increase in ρ near T max with increasing external magnetic field B. It has been established that the behavior of resistivity is caused by the variable range hopping conduction mechanism ρ(T) = ρ0(T)exp[(T 0/T)1/4], where ρ0(T) ~ T 25/4. The Mott variable range hopping conduction has been observed below the Curie temperature for La0.7Sr0.3Mn0.9Cu0.1O3 samples (T C ~ 300 K) in a temperature range from 300 to 200 K. The influence of Cu doping on the properties of La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 samples is apparently caused by an additional distortion introduced into the crystal lattice of the material and by a weakening of the double-exchange mechanism.  相似文献

The dependence of a.c. specific heat measurements upon the temperature modulation amplitude ΔT has confirmed the first-order nature of the antiferromagnetic-ferromagnetic transition in single crystal terbium (TC~221K) and polycrystalline dysprosium (TC~85K). No peak in a.c. specific heat is obtained for 2ΔT less than the temperature hysteresis at the transition. By comparison, the peaks expected in a.c. specific heat were observed at the higher-order antiferromagnetic-paramagnetic transition in both materials for ΔT amplitudes as low as~40 mK.  相似文献

In the temperature range 100–650 K, the linear expansion coefficient β was measured for the SiC/Si biomorphic composite, a new cellular ecoceramic fabricated from a porous cellular carbon matrix prepared through pyrolysis of wood (white eucalyptus) in an argon ambient with subsequent infiltration of molten Si into the channels of the matrix and the formation of 3C-SiC. The SiC/Si samples studied had an “excess” ~30% volume concentration of Si and a porosity of ~13–15%. The measurements were conducted on samples cut along (β) and across (β) the tree growth direction. The measured values of β(T) of SiC/Si are compared with literature data available for the linear expansion coefficients of Si and 3C-SiC.  相似文献

The temperature dependences of the transverse expansion ?(T) and the longitudinal contraction ?(T) (with respect to the axes of chain molecules) in large-sized poly(ethylene) (PE) crystal grains (100×60×60 nm) are measured using x-ray diffraction in the temperature range 5–380 K. The temperature dependence of the elongation of the molecular skeleton ?C(T) is obtained by Raman spectroscopy. It is found that the dependences ?(T), ?(T), and ?C(T) exhibit a similar specific nonlinear behavior. Analysis of these dependences indicates that the nonlinearity is associated with the quantum statistics of transverse vibrations. The energies and amplitudes of zero-point (at T=0) transverse (torsional and bending) vibrations and the relevant zero-point components ?(0) and ?C(0) are estimated. It is revealed that the zero-point components make a considerable contribution to the dynamics of the PE crystal up to the melting temperature (~400 K).  相似文献

In a temperature range 5–300 K the specific heat C(T) on a new mixed valence cobalt oxides REBaCo4O7 (RE=Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb, Lu) was investigated. The first-order structural phase transitions from hexagonal P63mc to orthorhombic Cmc21 phase was indicated by a peak-like anomaly in C(T) curves at TS~160, 178, 224, and 280 K for RE=Lu, Yb, Tm, and Er correspondingly. The magnetic phase transitions was indicated as the changes of slope on the C(T) curves were found at corresponding temperatures: TN~50, 74, 98, and 98 K for RE=Lu, Yb, Tm, and Er, correspondingly.  相似文献

The effect of point defects on the magnetic properties of La0.67Ca0.33MnO3 polycrystals and single crystals has been studied. The magnetic susceptibility χ dc of the initial samples and samples irradiated by electrons to the maximum dose F = 9 × 1018 cm?2 has been measured in the temperature region 80 K < T < 650 K. Local variations of Mn-O-Mn bond angles and lengths result in a nonmonotonic dose dependence of the Curie temperature T C. At high doses of electron irradiation, F ≥ 5 × 1018 cm?2, the temperature of the transition from the ferromagnetic to polaron state in a single crystal is found to increase. In the paramagnetic region close to T C, ferromagnetically ordered polarons are observed to exist, while at T > 1.2T C, localization of e g electrons initiates formation of paramagnetic polarons with a higher magnetic moment. Electron irradiation stimulates persistence of magnetic polarons up to higher temperatures T > 2T C.  相似文献

Polycrystalline samples of a new rare-earth series RPd5Al2 crystallizing in the tetragonal ZrNi2Al5-type structure have been prepared. Their physical properties by electrical resistivity ρ, magnetic susceptibility χ, magnetization M and specific heat Cp measurements are reported. The ingots are composed of elongated grains preferentially aligned in the c direction; therefore, measurements were conducted parallel and perpendicular to the grains. Antiferromagnetic ordering appears in R=Ce, Nd, Gd, and Sm at low temperatures. CePd5Al2 has two AFM transitions at 4.1 and 2.9 K and ρ(T) indicates a Kondo metal behavior with large anisotropy. In PrPd5Al2 no magnetic transition was observed down to 0.4 K. The Cp(T) shows a broad peak around 13 K due to the CEF effect, suggesting a non-magnetic singlet ground state. In NdPd5Al2, χ(T) shows anisotropy and the Cp(T) shows a sharp peak at 1.2 K. The magnetic entropy at 3 K is very close to Rln2, indicating a Kramers doublet ground state. In SmPd5Al2, Cp(T) shows a magnetic transition at 1.7 K. Cp(T) for GdPd5Al2 shows a peak at 6 K, followed by a broad anomaly around 3 K. Within this series, TN's for CePd5Al2 and NdPd5Al2 clearly deviate from the relation predicted by de Gennes scaling, which is ascribed to the CEF effect.  相似文献

We report discovery of ferromagnetism in(LaCa)(ZnMn)SbO isostructural to the well-studied iron-based superconductor LaFeAs(O1 xFx).Spin is induced by partial substitution of Mn2+for Zn2+,while charge is induced by substitution of Ca2+for La3+within the parent compound LaZnSbO.Ferromagnetism with Curie temperature(TC)is observed up to 40 K at the spin doping 0.15 by introducing Mn2+into the Zn2+sites for(La0.95Ca0.05)(Zn1 xMnx)SbO.The Hall coefficient measurement indicates p-type carrier for(La0.95Ca0.05)(Zn0.9Mn0.1)SbO with concentration of n~1020cm 3showing anomalous Hall effect below TC.  相似文献

We report measurements of the heat capacity Cp of diamond with several isotopic compositions (12C1−x13Cx) in the 20-280 K temperature range. The results, in particular the derivative of the specific heat with respect to the average isotopic mass, are compared with recent ab initio calculations. Agreement is good for T>150 K. At lower temperatures, the samples with isotopic compositions different from the natural one display an anomalous increase in Cp/T3 with decreasing temperature which is attributed to the presence of metallic inclusions stemming from the metal used as a solvent in the high-pressure high-temperature growth process.  相似文献

La0.67Ca0.33MnO3 particle films with an average particle size of ~150 nm were grown on single-crystal silicon substrate using pulsed electron deposition technique and then focused ion beam was introduced to fabricate nanobridge in size of 300 × 900 nm on the particle film. The magneto-transport properties of both samples were studied. For the film, there is only one resistance peak at 182 K in temperature-dependent resistance (RT) curves, which is far lower than ferromagnetic–paramagnetic transition temperature (T C) of 250 K. When compared to the film, double peaks were observed in both RT curves and magnetoresistance dependent on temperature (MR–T) curves of the nanobridge, one peak is at 186 K, which is very close to metal–insulator transition temperature (T P) of film, the other one is at 250 K, which is close to the T C of film, and these two peaks caused separately by grain and grain boundary (GB), which demonstrated that the electrical transport behavior of grain was separated from that of GB.  相似文献

A study of the Hall and Seebeck coefficients and of resistivity has been carried out on an Sn0.62Pb0.33Ge0.05Te alloy doped by 5 and 10 at. % In. A superconducting transition with the maximum critical temperature T C~4 K has been discovered in samples with hole concentrations p≥1×1021 cm?3. The dependence of T C on hole concentration has been established to be of a threshold nature. The onset of superconductivity is accompanied practically simultaneously by a growth of the resistivity and a sharp drop of the Seebeck coefficient. These features in the experimental data indicate the existence of a band of In resonance states within the allowed valence-band spectrum and strong resonance hole scattering to impurity states. The threshold character of the T C(p) dependence is connected with the holes filling the resonance states. A positive correlation between the resonance scattering intensity and the critical temperature is observed.  相似文献

Specific heats CEp of some phosphates have been measured on powder samples, in the temperature range 100–373 K. Anomalous behaviour of CEp (T) has been observed for Co(H2PO4)2s? 2H3PO4 and Mn(H2PO4)2 2H3PO4 around 190 K. In triclinic Ba(H2PO4)2 a phase transition was found at about 147 K, i.e. at a somewhat higher temperature than according to previous dielectric measurements.  相似文献

The temperature dependence of heat capacity C p(T) was studied for nine rare-earth hexaborides MB6(M=La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, and Dy) at temperatures of 5–300 K. Using the correspondence principle for lattice heat capacities of isostructural compounds, the lattice contribution C 1(T) and the excess contribution ΔC(T) to the heat capacity of the hexaborides were determined. The lattice heat capacity C 1(T) is represented as the sum of the Debye contributions of the metal and boron sublattices: C 1(T)=C M (T)+6C B(T). The Debye temperatures πM and πB of the metal and boron sublattices were determined. The anomalies in the excess heat capacity ΔC(T)=C p (T)?C 1(T) are related to the magnetic ordering effects, the Schottky contribution, and the Jahn-Teller effect.  相似文献
