Low temperature and low frequency properties of a spin-boson model are investigated within a super operator and Liouville space formulation. The leading contributions are identified with the help of projection operators projecting onto the equilibrium state. The quantities of interest are expressed in terms of weighted bath propagators and static linear and nonlinear susceptibilities. In particular the generalized Shiba relation and Wilson ratio are recovered. Received 7 July 2000 and Received in final form 8 August 2000  相似文献

We investigate, within the fluctuation-exchange approximation, a correlated-electron model for represented by two inequivalent Hubbard layers coupled by an interlayer hopping . An energy offset is introduced in order to produce a different charge carrier concentration in the two layers. We compare several single-particle and magnetic excitations, namely, the single particle scattering rate, the spectral function and the spin lattice as well as spin-spin relaxation times in the two layers as a function of . We show that the induced interlayer magnetic coupling produces a tendency to “equalization” of the magnetic properties in the two layers whereby antiferromagnetic fluctuations are suppressed in the less doped layer and enhanced in the heavily doped one.The strong antiferromagnetic bilayer coupling causes the charge carriers in the plane with larger doping concentration to behave similar to those of the underdoped layer, they are coupled to. This effect grows for decreasing temperature. For high temperatures or if both layers are optimally or overdoped, i.e. when the antiferromagnetic correlation length becomes of the order or smaller than one lattice site the charge carrier and magnetic dynamics of the two layers is disconnected and the equalization effect disappears. These results are in good agreement with NMR experiments on by Stern et al. [Phys. Rev B 51, 15478 (1995)]. We also compare the results with calculations on bilayer systems with equivalent layers as models for the constituent compounds and . Received: 28 August 1998  相似文献

We investigate characteristics of spin tunneling time in ZnSe/Ze1-xMnxSe multilayers under the influence of both an electric field and a magnetic field. The results indicate that the tunneling time shows complicated oscillations and significant spin separation for electrons with different spin orientations traversing semimagnetic semiconductor heterostructures. It is also shown that the tunneling time exhibits obvious asymmetry in opposite tunneling directions for electrons tunneling through asymmetric heterostructures, which mainly occurs in resonant regions. The degree of the asymmetry of the tunneling time is not only spin-polarization dependent but also external-field induced. Received 10 July 2001  相似文献

The reorientation of the magnetization of a ferromagnetic monolayer is calculated with the help of many-body Green's function theory. This allows, in contrast to other spin wave theories, a satisfactory calculation of magnetic properties over the entire temperature range of interest since interactions between spin waves are taken into account. A Heisenberg Hamiltonian plus a second-order uniaxial single-ion anisotropy and an external magnetic field is treated by the Tyablikov (Random Phase Approximation: RPA) decoupling of the exchange interaction term and the Anderson-Callen decoupling of the anisotropy term. The orientation of the magnetization is determined by the spin components (), which are calculated with the help of the spectral theorem. The knowledge of the orientation angle allows a non-perturbative determination of the temperature dependence of the effective second-order anisotropy coefficient. Results for the Green's function theory are compared with those obtained with mean-field theory (MFT). We find significant differences between these approaches. The dispersion spectrum of single hole in a bilayer composed of plane and chain, each described by t-J model, coupled by - interactions between them, is calculated in terms of self-consistent Born approximation. It was found that for a weak interlayer coupling the two different quasiparticle bands, plane-like and chain-like bands, show a minimum at (, ) and a maximum at (0, 0) or (, ). In plane-like dispersion we can find an anomalous “flat” region near Fermi surface along the antiferromagnetic Brillouin zone boundary, which favors the formation of the van-Hove singularities. With increasing interlayer coupling, a large modification of the dispersions is carried out, the minimum deviates from (, ) and the energy gap of the two bands decreases and finally disappears when the vertical coupling is larger enough. The shapes of the QP bands are sensitive to the vertical hopping rather than the vertical exchange energy . As the interlayer coupling increases, the shapes of the two QP bands suggest that the chain-like band approaches to that of quasi-one dimensional model, and the plane-like band undergoes the one layer t - t '-J models' band. With the help of 155,157Gd NMR in we derive the contribution of Gd and Mn neighbours to the hyperfine field at the rare earth site in the spiral spin phase of the intermetallic compound GdMn6Ge6. The substitution of Gd for Y atoms allows the determination of the separate contribution of remote Gd neighbours. The different temperature dependence of the hyperfine contributions of the Gd and Mn neighbours gives the possibility to estimate the transferred hyperfine field of Mn at the rare earth site both in magnitude and sign. We present a detailed derivation of the Gutzwiller approximation for multi-band Hubbard models with density-density Coulomb interactions. For the one-band Hubbard model we introduce a mathematically well-defined formalism which is easily generalized to the multi-band case. In contrast to earlier attempts, our approach allows us to include inter-orbital hopping terms in the Hamiltonian. Received: 9 December 1997 / Revised and accepted: 6 March 1998  相似文献

For w-legged antiferromagnetic spin-1/2 Heisenberg ladders, a long-range spin pairing order can be identified which enables the separation of the space spanned by finite-range (covalent) valence-bond configurations into w +1 subspaces. Since every subspace has an equivalent counter subspace connected by translational symmetry, twofold degeneracy, breaking translational symmetry is found except for the subspace where the ground state of w = even belongs to. In terms of energy ordering, (non)degeneracy and the discontinuities introduced in the long-range spin pairing order by topological spin defects, the differences between even and odd ladders are explained in a general and systematic way. Ferromagnetic spin chains of a hexagonal lattice coupled by a weak antiferromagnetic interaction J1 develop a helix arrangement if the intrachain antiferromagnetic NNN exchange J2 is sufficiently large. We show that the classical minimum energy spin configuration is an umbrella when an external magnetic field is applied. The scenario is dramatically changed by quantum fluctuations. Indeed we find that the zero point motion forces the spins in a plane containing the magnetic field so that classical expectation is deceptive for our model. Our result is obtained by controlled expansion in the low field-long wavelength modulation limit. Received: 9 September 1997 / Revised: 15 October 1997 / Accepted: 17 November 1997  相似文献

We present theoretical calculations for the reflection of atoms from a magnetic surface with a sinusoidal magnetization. A fully quantum mechanical treatment is possible because the problem may be reduced to an effective one-dimensional one. Results of numerical wave-packet calculations are presented and compared with an analytical model in which the atoms separate into different internal state components which follow classical paths in different potentials. For two particles in a disordered chain of length L with on-site interaction U, a duality transformation maps the behavior at weak interaction onto the behavior at strong interaction. Around the fixed point of this transformation, the interaction yields a maximum mixing of the one body states. When (the one particle localization length), this mixing results in weak chaos accompanied by multifractal wave functions and critical spectral statistics, as in the one particle problem at the mobility edge or in certain pseudo-integrable billiards. In one dimension, a local interaction can only yield this weak chaos but can never drive the two particle system to full chaos with Wigner-Dyson statistics. We investigate the behaviour of photo-excitable, bistable systems, under permanent light irradiation, in presence of relaxation towards the non-excited state. Cooperativity causes bistability of the steady state, leading to light-induced thermal and optical hysteresis (LITH and LIOH). The light-induced instability is expected to induce demixtion, i.e. the coexistence of domains of the two stable steady states. Such effects are evidenced by magnetic and reflectivity measurements on the spin-crossover solid solution: , with x= 0.3, 0.5, 0.85. Experimental data are in quantitative agreement with a simple macroscopic model which includes a non-linear relaxation term in the master equation. We discuss the hydrodynamic equations which describe the shear dynamics of a liquid composed of anisotropic molecules, both in its normal and its supercooled phases. We use these equations to analyze 90 depolarized light scattering experiments performed in the supercooled phase of a glass forming liquid, metatoluidine, and show that the information extracted from this analysis is consistent with independent shear viscosity measurements performed on that liquid in the same temperature range. By using integral representations the perturbation expansion and the Bogoliubov inequality in nonextensive Tsallis statistics are investigated in a unified way. This procedure extends the analysis performed recently by Lenzi et al. [Phys. Rev. Lett. 80, 218 (1998)] to the quantum (discrete spectra) case, for q<1. An example is presented in order to illustrate the method. Received 19 November 1998  相似文献

For N interacting particles in a one dimensional random potential, we study the structure of the corresponding network in Hilbert space. The states without interaction play the role of the “sites”. The hopping terms are induced by the interaction. When the one body states are localized, we numerically find that the set of directly connected “sites” is multifractal. For the case of two interacting particles, the fractal dimension associated to the second moment of the hopping term is shown to characterize the Golden rule decay of the non interacting states and the enhancement factor of the localization length. A thermodynamically consistent lattice Boltzmann scheme for simulating the flow of a binary fluid is extended to allow the fluid components to have different viscosities. The approach is tested for the shear and Poiseuille flow of layered immiscible fluids and for the dispersion relation and the damping of a capillary wave. We then consider the fingering that results when a fluid is displaced by a less viscous fluid in a two-dimensional channel. The finger widths obtained match the results of Reinelt and Saffman [#!Reinelt85!#], but differ somewhat from those of Halpern and Gaver [#!Halpern94!#] for capillary numbers above 2. A limiting finger width close to 1/2 is obtained for high capillary numbers and high viscosity ratios. Received 25 May 1999 and Received in final form 19 November 1999  相似文献

We consider finite temperature dynamical correlation functions in the interacting delta-function Bose gas. In the low-temperature limit the asymptotic behaviour of correlation functions can be determined from conformal field theory. In the present work we determine the deviations from conformal behaviour at low temperatures. Received: 14 January 1998 / Accepted: 17 March 1998  相似文献

Thermal expansion and forced magnetostriction measurements are reported on two Gd intermetallic compounds which order magnetically below 10 K. The relative influence of the electronic, lattice and magnetic degrees of freedom was determined using results obtained on a non-magnetic isostructural compound. A Grüneisen analysis revealed that whilst the magnetic contribution to the specific heat is similar for both Pd2GdIn and Cu2GdIn the spontaneous magnetostriction was significantly smaller in the Pd compound. Forced magnetostriction measurements suggest that the thermal expansion in Pd2GdIn is primarily associated with spin fluctuations in the Pd 4d band. It is suggested that these additional degrees of freedom give rise to the enhanced specific heat observed in Pd2GdIn. Received 28 July 1999  相似文献

The dynamics of a single fluid bilayer membrane in an external hydrodynamic flow field is considered. The deterministic equation of motion for the configuration is derived taking into account both viscous dissipation in the surrounding liquid and local incompressibility of the membrane. For quasi-spherical vesicles in shear flow, thermal fluctuations can be incorporated in a Langevin-type equation of motion for the deformation amplitudes. The solution to this equation shows an overdamped oscillatory approach to a stationary tanktreading shape. Inclination angle and ellipticity of the contour are determined as a function of excess area and shear rate. Comparisons to numerical results and experiments are discussed.
