Let f : M → M be a self-map of a closed manifold M of dimension dim M ≥ 3. The Nielsen number N(f) of f is equal to the minimal number of fixed points of f among all self-maps f in the homotopy class of f. In this paper, we determine N(f) for all self-maps f when M is a closed3-manifold with S2× R geometry. The calculation of N(f) relies on the induced homomorphisms of f on the fundamental group and on the second homotopy group of M.  相似文献

In this paper,we consider the existence of harmonic maps from a Finsler man-ifold and study the characterisation of harmonic maps,in the spirit of lshihara.Using heatequation method we show that any map from a compact Finsler manifold M to a com-pact Riemannian manifold with non-positive sectional curvature can be deformed into aharmonic map which has minimum energy in its homotopy class.  相似文献

It is well known that a linear complementarity problem (LCP) can be formulated as a system of nonsmooth equations F(x) = 0, where F is a map from Rninto itself. Using the aggregate function, we construct a smooth Newton homotopy H(x,t) = 0. Under certain assumptions, we prove the existence of a smooth path defined by the Newton homotopy which leads to a solution of the original problem, and study limiting properties of the homotopy path.  相似文献

In this paper, we present a new homotopy method for the nonlinear complementarity problems. Without the regularity or non-singulary assumptions for▽F(x), we prove that our homotopy equations have a bounded solution curve. The numerical tests confirm the efficiency of our proposed method.  相似文献

Let ( M1 , M2 , N ) be three symplectic manifolds and suppose that we can do the symplectic connected sum of M1 and M2 along their submanifold N to obtain M1#NM2 . In this paper, we consider the bilinear and cubic forms of H* (M1#NM2 , Z) when dim M1#NM2 = 4, 6. In this paper, we study the following N-coupled nonlinear Schr?dinger system ■where n ≤ 3, N ≥ 3, μ_j 0, β_(i,j)= β_(j,i) 0 are constants and βj,j= μj, j = 1, ···, N.There have been intensive studies for the system on existence/non-existence and classification of ground state solutions when N = 2. However fewer results about the classification of ground state solution are available for N ≥ 3. In this paper, we first give a complete classification result on ground state solutions with Morse indices 1,2 or 3 for three-coupled Schr?dinger system. Then we generalize our results to Ncoupled Schr?dinger system for ground state solutions with Morse indices 1 and N.We show that any positive ground state solutions with Morse index 1 or Morse index N must be the form of(d_1w, d_2w, ···, d_Nw) under suitable conditions, where w is the unique positive ground state solution of certain equation. Finally, we generalize our results to fractional N-coupled Schr?dinger system.  相似文献

In [5], Harvey and Lawson showed that for any calibration ϕ there is an integer bound for the homotopy dimension of a strictly ϕ-convex domain and constructed a method to get these domains by using ϕ-free submanifolds. Here, we show how to get examples of ϕ-free submanifolds with different homotopy types for the quaternion calibration in ℍ n , associative calibration, and coassociative calibration in G 2 manifolds. Hence we give examples of strictly ϕ-convex domains with different homotopy types allowed by Morse Theory.  相似文献

Let Tn be the full transformation semigroup on the n-element set Xn. For an arbitrary integer r such that 2 ≤ r ≤ n-1, we completely describe the maximal subsemigroups of the semigroup K(n, r) = {α∈Tn : |im α| ≤ r}. We also formulate the cardinal number of such subsemigroups which is an answer to Problem 46 of Tetrad in 1969, concerning the number of subsemigroups of Tn.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose approximations to compute the steady-state performance measures of the M/GI/N+GI queue receiving Poisson arrivals with N identical servers, and general service and abandonment-time distributions. The approximations are based on scaling a single server M/GI/1+GI queue. For problems involving deterministic and exponential abandon times distributions, we suggest a practical way to compute the waiting time distributions and their moments using the Laplace transform of the workload density function. Our first contribution is numerically computing the workload density function in the M/GI/1+GI queue when the abandon times follow general distributions different from the deterministic and exponential distributions. Then we compute the waiting time distributions and their moments. Next, we scale-up the M/GI/1+GI queue giving rise to our approximations to capture the behavior of the multi-server system. We conduct extensive numerical experiments to test the speed and performance of the approximations, which prove the accuracy of their predictions.   相似文献

We show that an infinite cyclic covering space M′ of a PD n -complex M is a PD n-1-complex if and only if χ(M) = 0, M′ is homotopy equivalent to a complex with finite [(n−1)/2]-skeleton and π1(M′) is finitely presentable. This is best possible in terms of minimal finiteness assumptions on the covering space. We give also a corresponding result for covering spaces M ν with covering group a PD r -group under a slightly stricter finiteness condition.   相似文献

 We compute, up to an element of a fixed number field, the critical values of the L-function of a pair of automorphic, cuspidal, cohomological representations of any GL(r). The result is expressed as a product of cohomological periods divided by an archimedean integral. The main tool used is the rationality of the cohomology of the three representations involved in the Rankin–Selberg integral.
