A kind of three-species system with Holling II functional response and two delays is introduced. Its local stability and the existence of Hopf bifurcation are demonstrated by analyzing the associated characteristic equation. By using the normal form method and center manifold theorem, explicit formulas to determine the direction of the Hopf bifurcation and the stability of bifurcating periodic solution are also obtained. In addition, the global existence results of periodic solutions bifurcating from Hopf bifurcations are established by using a global Hopf bifurcation result. Numerical simulation results are also given to support our theoretical predictions.  相似文献

This paper presents an investigation of stability and Hopf bifurcation of the synaptically coupled nonidentical FHN model with two time delays. We first consider the existence of local Hopf bifurcations, by regarding the sum of the two delays as a parameter, then derive explicit formulas for determining the direction of the Hopf bifurcations and the stability of the bifurcating periodic solutions, using the normal form method and center manifold theory. In this paper, a four-neuron BAM neural network with distributed delays is considered, where kernels are chosen as weak kernels. Its dynamics is studied in terms of local stability analysis and Hopf bifurcation analysis. By choosing the average delay as a bifurcation parameter and analyzing the associated characteristic equation, Hopf bifurcation occurs when the bifurcation parameter passes through some exceptive values. The stability of bifurcating periodic solutions and a formula for determining the direction of Hopf bifurcation are determined by applying the normal form theory and the center manifold theorem. In this paper, a congestion control algorithm with heterogeneous delays in a wireless access network is considered. We regard the communication time delay as a bifurcating parameter to study the dynamical behaviors, i.e., local asymptotical stability, Hopf bifurcation and resonant codimension-two bifurcation. By analyzing the associated characteristic equation, the Hopf bifurcation occurs when the delay passes through a sequence of critical value. Furthermore, the direction and stability of the bifurcating periodic solutions are derived by applying the normal form theory and the center manifold theorem. In the meantime, the resonant codimension-two bifurcation is also found in this model. Some numerical examples are finally performed to verify the theoretical results.  相似文献

In this paper, we discuss the stability and bifurcation of the distributed delays Cohen–Grossberg neural networks with two neurons. By choosing the average delay as a bifurcation parameter, we prove that Hopf bifurcation occurs. The stability of bifurcating periodic solutions and the direction of Hopf bifurcation are determined by applying the normal form theory and the center manifold theorem. In this paper, a delayed density dependent predator-prey model with Crowley-Martin functional response and two time delays for the predator is considered. By analyzing the corresponding characteristic equations, the local stability of each of the feasible equilibria of the system is addressed and the existence of Hopf bifurcation at the coexistence equilibrium is established. With the help of normal form method and center manifold theorem, some explicit formulas determining the direction of Hopf bifurcation and the stability of bifurcating period solutions are derived. In this paper, a predator-prey system with two delays is investigated. By choosing the sum τ of two delays as a bifurcation parameter, we show that Hopf bifurcations can occur as τ crosses some critical values. By deriving the equation describing the flow on the center manifold, we can determine the direction of the Hopf bifurcations and the stability of the bifurcating periodic solutions. In addition, special attention is paid to the global continuation of local Hopf bifurcations. Using a global Hopf bifurcation result of [J. Wu, Symmetric functional differential equations and neural networks with memory, Trans. Amer. Math. Soc. 350 (1998) 4799-4838], we may show the global existence of periodic solutions.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with a delayed predator-prey system with modified Leslie-Gower and Holling type III schemes. By analyzing the associated characteristic equation, its local stability and the existence of periodic solutions via Hopf bifurcation with respect to both delays are obtained. Based on the normal form method and center manifold theorem, the formulaes for determining the direction of Hopf bifurcation and the stability of bifurcating periodic solutions are derived. In this paper, a two‐neuron network with both discrete and distributed delays is considered. With the corresponding characteristic equation analyzed, the local stability of the trivial equilibrium is investigated. With the discrete time delay taken as a bifurcation parameter, the existence of Hopf bifurcation is established. Moreover, formulae for determining the direction of Hopf bifurcation and the stability of bifurcating periodic solutions are derived. Finally, numerical simulations are carried out to illustrate the main results and further to exhibit that there is a characteristic sequence of bifurcations leading to a chaotic dynamics, which implies that the system admits rich and complex dynamics. In this paper we give a detailed Hopf bifurcation analysis of a ratio-dependent predator–prey system involving two different discrete delays. By analyzing the characteristic equation associated with the model, its linear stability is investigated. Choosing delay terms as bifurcation parameters the existence of Hopf bifurcations is demonstrated. Stability of the bifurcating periodic solutions is determined by using the center manifold theorem and the normal form theory introduced by Hassard et al. Furthermore, some of the bifurcation properties including direction, stability and period are given. Finally, theoretical results are supported by some numerical simulations.  相似文献

A Cohen-Grossberg neural network with discrete delays is investigated in this paper. The qualitative analysis is given for the system and it is found that the system undergoes a sequence of Hopf bifurcations by choosing the discrete time delay as a bifurcation parameter. Moreover, by applying the normal form theory and the center manifold theorem, the direction of the Hopf bifurcation and the stability of bifurcating periodic solutions are obtained. In this paper, we consider a single-directional ring of three neurons with delays. First, linear stability of the model is investigated by analyzing the associated characteristic transcendental equation. Next, we studied the local Hopf bifurcations and the spatio-temporal patterns of Hopf bifurcating periodic orbits. Basing on the normal form approach and the center manifold theory, we derive the formula for determining the properties of Hopf bifurcating periodic orbit, such as the direction of Hopf bifurcation. In this paper, the exponential RED algorithm with heterogeneous delays is considered. Local stability of the equilibrium solution of this algorithm is investigated based on analyzing the corresponding transcendental characteristic equation. Some general stability criteria involving the delays and the system parameters are derived by using generalized Nyquist criteria. In particular, using one of the delays as the bifurcation parameter, when the delays exceed a critical value, the exponential RED system undergoes a supercritical Hopf bifurcation. The explicit formulas determining the stability and the direction of periodic solutions bifurcating from the equilibrium are obtained by applying Hassard et al’s approaches. We consider a delayed predator-prey system. We first consider the existence of local Hopf bifurcations, and then derive explicit formulas which enable us to determine the stability and the direction of periodic solutions bifurcating from Hopf bifurcations, using the normal form theory and center manifold argument. Special attention is paid to the global existence of periodic solutions bifurcating from Hopf bifurcations. By using a global Hopf bifurcation result due to Wu [Trans. Amer. Math. Soc. 350 (1998) 4799], we show that the local Hopf bifurcation implies the global Hopf bifurcation after the second critical value of delay. A modified Leslie-Gower predator-prey system with discrete and distributed delays is introduced. By analyzing the associated characteristic equation, stability and local Hopf bifurcation of the model are studied. It is found that the positive equilibrium is asymptotically stable when $\tau$ is less than a critical value and unstable when $\tau$ is greater than this critical value and the system can also undergo Hopf bifurcation at the positive equilibrium when $\tau$ crosses this critical value. Furthermore, using the normal form theory and center manifold theorem, the formulae for determining the direction of periodic solutions bifurcating from positive equilibrium are derived. Furthermore, explicit algorithm for determining the direction of the Hopf bifurcation and the stability of the bifurcating periodic solutions is derived by normal form theorem and center manifold argument.
