Lanthanide complexes with the Schiff base axial macrobicyclic ligand L(1) react with Zn(II) nitrate in the presence of CaH(2) to yield Ln(III)-Zn(II) heterodinuclear cryptates with the formula [Ln(NO(3))(L(1)-3H)Zn](NO(3)).xH(2)O.yMeOH. The macrobicyclic receptor L(1) is an azacryptand N[(CH(2))(2)N=CH-R-CH=N-(CH(2))(2)](3)N (R = 1,3-(2-OH-5-Me-C(6)H(2))). The crystal structures of the Pr(III), Yb(III), and Lu(III) complexes, chemical formulas [Ln(NO(3))(L(1)-3H)Zn](NO(3)).xSolv (monoclinic, C2/c, Z = 8), as well as that of [Zn(2)(L(1)-3H)](NO(3)).H(2)O (15) (triclinic, P(-)1, Z = 2), have been determined by X-ray crystallography. The ligand is helically wrapped around the two metal ions, leading to pseudo-C(3) symmetries around the metals. The Ln(III)-Zn(II) distances lie in the range 3.3252(13) to 3.2699(14) A, while the Zn(II)-Zn(II) distance in 15 amounts to 3.1037(18) A. The three five-membered chelate rings of the ligand backbone coordinating the Ln(III) ion adopt a (lambdalambdadelta)(5) (or (deltadeltalambda)(5)) conformation while the three pseudochelate rings formed by the coordination of the ligand to the Zn(II) ion adopt a (lambda'lambda'lambda')(5) (or (delta'delta'delta')(5)) conformation. Thus in the solid state the conformation of the three cations is Lambda(deltadeltalambda)(5)(delta'delta'delta')(5) or its enantiomeric form Delta(lambdalambdadelta)(5)(lambda'lambda'lambda')(5). In solution, the helicates present a time-averaged C(3) symmetry, as shown by (1)H NMR, and the conformation of the cations is described as Lambda(deltadeltadelta)(5)(delta'delta'delta')(5) (or Delta(lambdalambdalambda)(5)(lambda'lambda'lambda')(5)). The photophysical properties of the cryptates depend on the nature of the Ln(III) ion, and (L-3H)(3)(-) is revealed to be a good sensitizer for Eu(III) and Tb(III) at low temperatures, but the emission at room temperature is limited by the low energy of the ligand (3)pipi state. While Eu(III) is most effectively sensitized by the ligand triplet state, the Tb(III) ((5)D(4)) sensitization occurs via the singlet state. The quantum yield of the metal-centered luminescence in the Eu-Zn cryptate amounts to 1.05% upon ligand excitation. The low energy of the ligand (3)pipi state allows efficient sensitization of the Nd(III) and Yb(III) cryptates, which emit in the near-infrared.  相似文献

Compounds of formula [Pb(L2)(NCS)2] (1) and [Pb(L4)(SCN)2] (2) (where L2 is the lariat crown ether N,N'-bis(3-aminobenzyl)-4,13-diaza-18-crown-6 and L4 is the Schiff-base lariat crown ether N,N'-bis(3-(salicylaldimino)benzyl)-4,13-diaza-18-crown-6) were isolated and structurally characterized by X-ray diffraction analyses. The X-ray crystal structures of both compounds show the metal ion coordinated to the six donor atoms of the crown moiety, leaving the corresponding pendant arms uncoordinated. The coordination sphere of lead(II) is completed by two thiocyanate groups that coordinate either through their nitrogen (1) or sulfur (2) atoms. The organic receptor adopts a syn conformation in 1, while in 2 it shows an anti conformation. To rationalize these unexpected different conformations of the L2 and L4 receptors in compounds 1 and 2, as well as the different binding modes found for the thiocyanate ligands, we have carried out theoretical calculations at the DFT (B3LYP) level. These calculations predict the syn conformation being the most stable in both 1 and 2 complexes. So, the anti conformation found for 2 in the solid state is tentatively attributed to the presence of intermolecular pi-pi interactions between phenol rings, for which the dihedral angle between the least-squares planes of both rings amounts to 2.6 degrees and the distance between the center of both rings is 3.766 A. On the other hand, the analysis of the electronic structure has revealed that the Pb-ligand bonds present highly ionic character in this family of compounds. They also suggest a greater transfer of electron density from the NCS- ligands when they coordinate through the less electronegative S atom. The Pb-SCN covalent bond formation mainly occurs due to an effective overlap of the occupied 3p z orbitals of the S atoms and the unoccupied 6p z AO of the Pb atom, while the Pb-NCS bonding interaction is primarily due to the overlap of the 6s and 7s AO of Pb with sp(1.10) hybrids of the N donor atoms. Our electronic structure calculations can rationalize the different coordination of the thiocyanate groups in compounds 1 and 2: the simultaneous formation of two Pb-SCN bonds is more favorable for S-Pb-S angles close to 180 degrees , for which the overlap between the occupied 3p z orbitals of the S atoms and the unoccupied 6 pz AO of the Pb atom is maximized.  相似文献

A series of novel luminescent neutral cyclometalated gold(III) complexes of the type cis-[(N^C)Au(C≡CR)(2)] (R = aryl, silyl groups) having different cyclometalating cores (N^C) have been synthesized by CuI promoted halide to alkynyl metathesis with NEt(3) as in situ deprotonating agent. Along with spectroscopic characterizations (nuclear magnetic resonance and infrared spectroscopies and electrospray ionization mass spectrometry) and elemental analysis, the molecular structures of some of the complexes have been established by single-crystal X-ray diffraction studies. Photophysical studies reveal that the complexes exhibit room-temperature phosphorescence (RTP). Experimental observations and density functional theory calculations qualitatively suggest limited participation of the metal and alkynyl ligands in the lowest energy emitting state. The nature of the emission is mainly governed by metal-perturbed (3)IL(π-π*) transitions originating from the cyclometalate part of the molecule, and its variation readily leads to the tuning of the emission wavelengths. Cyclic voltammetry measurements of selected complexes showed irreversible redox behavior with near-equivalent cathodic peak potential (E(p,c)) assigned to the C^N core.  相似文献

Ionic gold(I) complexes with general formula of [Au(Py)2][AuCl2] and [Au(Py)2][PF6] (Py = 4-substituted pyridines) have been synthesized. Structures of five Au(I) complexes and a Ag(I) complex were determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction. Evidence for cationic aggregation of [Au(py)2][PF6] complexes in solution was obtained by conductivity measurements and by the isosbestic point observed from variable temperature UV-visible absorption spectra. All compounds were luminous in the solid state. Calculations employing density functional theory were performed to shed light on the nature of the electronic transitions. While the [Au(4-dmapy)2][AuCl2] (4-dmapy = 4-dimethylaminopyridine) and [Au(4-pic)2][AuCl2] (4-pic = 4-picoline) emissions were found to be mainly ligand in nature, their [PF6](-) counterparts involved a Au...Au-interaction imbedded in the highest occupied molecular orbital. [Au(4-dmapy)2][AuCl2] was found to be an efficient catalyst for Suzuki cross-coupling of aryl bromide and phenylboronic acid.  相似文献

A series of mixed-ligand cyclometalated iridium(III) complexes with 2-aryl-1-phenylbenzimidazoles (where aryl is phenyl, 4-chlorophenyl, 4-(N,N-dimethylamino)phenyl, 3,4-dimethoxyphenyl, and 2-thienyl) and 11-carboxydipyrido[3,2-a:2′,3′-c]phenazine have been synthesized and characterized by 1H NMR and 31P NMR spectroscopy and mass spectrometry. The electron absorption spectra (EASs) of the complexes are observed to contain charge-transfer bands in the low-energy region (below 600 nm, ? ≈ (1–3) × 103 mol/(L cm)). The bands experience appreciable bathochromic shifts as the electron-donating properties of a benzimidazole ligand strengthen. The complexes manifest luminescence in the yellow-red spectral region. According to alternating current voltammetry data, reversible and quasi-reversible redox transitions (E ox ≈ 1.2–1.7 V with respect to SHE, CH3CN) are observed in solutions of the studied complexes.  相似文献

Some carboxylato-bridged praseodymium(III) complexes (15) having tp [hydrotris(pyrazol-1-yl)borate] and sodium p-X-benzoate (where X =?H, F, Cl, NO2) have been synthesized and characterized by different techniques including X-ray crystallography. The X-ray studies demonstrated that 1, 3 and 5 crystallized in triclinic space group P 1 with cell dimensions a =?11.761(13) Å, b =?12.536(13) Å, c =?17.726(19) Å for 1, a =?9.309(8) Å, b =?12.667(11) Å, c =?14.421(12) Å for 3, a =?11.5688(9) Å, b =?12.0055(9) Å, c =?12.3005(10) Å for 5. In 14 the coordination number of praseodymium is seven, whereas in 5 it is eight. IR suggested that the benzoate groups in 15 are bidentate bridging. The photophysical properties of these complexes have been studied in solution at room temperature. Thermogravimetric analysis showed that these complexes undergo complete decomposition with formation of praseodymium oxide.  相似文献

A series of novel dendritic beta-diketone ligands, 1-phenyl-3-[G-n]-4-phenylacetyl-5-pyrazolone (n = 0-3, G stands for polyaryl ether), were synthesized by introducing Fréchet-type dendritic branches. The corresponding Tb3+-cored dendritic complexes were characterized by X-ray crystallography, elemental analysis, ESI mass spectra, and FT-IR spectra. These dendritic complexes, prepared from aqueous solution, exhibit high stability. Interestingly, the study of photophysical properties shows that the luminescence quantum yields of the dendritic Tb-complexes increase from 0.1 to 2.26% with an increase of the dendritic generation from 0 to 3. Importantly, an "energy-reservoir effect" was observed in the dendritic system using the method based on the resonance energy transfer from these complexes to rhodamine 6G. With the increase of the dendritic generation, the metal-centered luminescence quantum yield was almost the same, and the energy transfer (phi(transfer)) from the ligand to Tb(3+) increased. Further measurements of the triplet state and oxygen quenching of these dendritic complexes verify that this enhancement of the energy transfer (phi(transfer)) is attributed to both an "antenna effect" and a "shell effect".  相似文献

Chiral, facial tris-cyclometalated Ir(III) complexes, fac-Delta-Ir(pppy)(3), fac-Lambda-Ir(pppy)(3), fac-Lambda-IrL (where pppy is (8R,10R)-2-(2'-phenyl)-4,5-pinenopyridine and L is a tripodal ligand comprising three pppy moieties connected through a mesityl spacer) have been synthesized and characterized. In IrL, NMR and CD studies indicate that only one diastereomer is formed, with the Lambda configuration at the metal center, whereas enantiopure pppy yields the fac-Lambda- and the fac-Delta-stereoisomer in a ratio 2:3. fac-Lambda-IrL was structurally characterized using X-ray crystallography. The luminescence properties including CPL, of the three complexes and their sensitivity to dioxygen were examined.  相似文献

A series of new cyclometalated iridium(III) complexes for electrochemiluminescence (ECL) system were synthesized and fully characterized. Using tri-n-propylamine (TPA) as an oxidative–reductive co-reactant, their ECL properties were studied in acetonitrile (CH3CN) and mixed CH3CN/H2O (50:50, v/v) solutions, respectively. Meanwhile, the influencing factors of ECL efficiencies, including working electrode, pH, and surfactant were investigated. A remarkable ECL enhancement (up to about 13.5 times), in comparison with the commonly used Ru(bpy)32+ (2,2′-bipyridyl) ruthenium(II), is observed from Ir(FPP)2(acac) (where FPP is 2-(4-fluorophenyl)-4-phenylpyridine, acac = acetylacetone) at Pt disk electrode. At the same time, an increase in ECL efficiency is also observed in surfactant media. This study provided a new method for further improving and tuning the ECL efficiency by designing new iridium complexes with the appropriate cyclometalated or ancillary ligands.  相似文献

Mixed cyclization of 3-mono-, 4-mono-, or 4,5-di(porphyrinated) phthalonitrile compounds 2, 3, or 6 and unsubstituted phthalonitrile with the half-sandwich complex [EuIII(acac)(Pc)] (Pc=phthalocyaninate, acac=acetylacetonate) as the template in the presence of 1,8-diazabicyclo[5.4.0]undec-7-ene (DBU) in n-pentanol afforded novel porphyrin-appended europium(III) bis(phthalocyaninato) complexes 7-9 in 30-40% yield. These mixed tetrapyrrole triads and tetrad were spectroscopically and electrochemically characterized and their photophysical properties were also investigated with steady-state and transient spectroscopic methods. It has been found that the fluorescence of the porphyrin moiety is quenched effectively by the double-decker unit through an intramolecular photoinduced electron-transfer process, which takes place in several hundred femtoseconds, while the recombination of the charge-separated state occurs in several picoseconds. By using different phthalocyanines containing different numbers of porphyrin substituents at the peripheral or nonperipheral position(s) of the ligand, while the other unsubstituted phthalocyanine remains unchanged in these double-deckers, the effects of the number and the position of the porphyrin substituents on these photophysical processes were also examined.  相似文献

Two Eu(III) ternary luminescent complexes, Eu(tpb-H)3(Tppo)2 and Eu(tpb-H)3(Topo)2 (Tppo: triphenylphosphine oxide, Topo: trioctylphosphine oxide, tpb: 4,4,4-trifluoro-1-phenyl-1,3-butanedione) were synthesized using β-diketonates and phosphine oxides as ligands. Luminescent polymers were fabricated by incorporating the deuterated Eu(III) complexes in a PMMA matrix. Luminescent PMMA containing Eu(tpb-D)3(Tppo)2 exhibited relatively higher quantum yield, faster radiation rate, sharper red emission and larger stimulated emission cross-section and the results indicated prepared luminescent polymers including Eu(tpb-D)3(Tppo)2 showed promising results for applications in novel organic Eu(III) devices. Additionally, the Eu(III) complexes and luminescent PMMA showed good thermostabilization.  相似文献

A series of four ligands based on a 5'-methyl-2,2'-bipyridyl framework substituted in the 6 position by a carboxylic acid, a phosphonic acid, a monoethyl ester phosphonic acid, or a diethyl ester phosphonic acid are described. The pK(a) values of all ligands and their assignments are determined by a combination of UV-vis absorption spectroscopy and (1)H and (31)P NMR spectroscopy. The ability of the tridentate ligands to form complexes with trivalent lanthanide cations (Ln = La, Nd, Eu, and Lu) in buffered water solutions (Tris-HCl, pH = 7.4) is studied by UV-vis absorption spectroscopy and (1)H NMR. While the two ester ligands display a weak coordination ability toward lanthanide cations, the acid ligands form stable complexes with 1:1, 1:2, and 1:3 Ln/L ratios. A weak selectivity is observed for the middle of the lanthanide series, and the complexes of the phosphonic acid derivative are up to 2 orders of magnitude more stable than those of the carboxylic acid ligand. Photophysical properties of the free phosphonic and carboxylic acid ligands and of their complexes with La, Eu, Gd, Tb, and Lu are investigated in buffered aqueous solutions both at room temperature and 77 K. An efficient ligand-to-metal energy transfer is observed for both the Eu and Tb complexes. Despite a relatively large energy gap between the ligand-centered (3)pipi* and the Eu((5)D(0)) or Tb((5)D(4)) emitting states, the metal-centered luminescence is well sensitized with quantum yields reaching up to 45.5 and 42.2% for the Tb 1:3 complexes with carboxylic and phosphonic acid ligands, respectively.  相似文献

The enantiomers of N,N'-bis(1-phenylethyl)-2,6-pyridinedicarboxamide (L), namely, (R,R)-1, and (S,S)-1, react with Ln(III) ions to give stable [LnL(3)](3+) complexes in an anhydrous acetonitrile solution and in the solid state, as evidenced by electrospray ionization mass spectrometry, NMR, luminescence titrations, and their X-ray crystal structures, respectively. All [LnL(3)](3+) complexes [Ln(III) = Eu, Gd, Tb, and Yb; L = (R,R)-1 and (S,S)-1] are isostructural and crystallize in the cubic space group I23. Although the small quantum yields of the Ln(III)-centered luminescence clearly point to the poor efficiency of the luminescence sensitization by the ligand and the intersystem crossing and ligand-to-metal energy transfers, the ligand triplet-excited-state energy seems relatively well suited to sensitize many Ln(III) ion's emission for instance, in the visible (Eu and Tb), near-IR (Nd and Yb), or both regions (Pr, Sm, Dy, Er, and Tm).  相似文献

Five new CuII complexes of general formula [Cu2(Rdtc)tpmc](ClO4)3, (1)–(5), where tpmc and Rdtc refer to N,N,N,N-tetrakis(2-pyridylmethyl)-1,4,8,11-teraazacyclotetradecane and piperidine- (Pipdtc), 4-morpholine- (Morphdtc), 4-thiomorpholine- (Timdtc), piperazine- (Pzdtc) or N-methylpiperazine- (N-Mepzdtc) dithiocarbamates, respectively, have been prepared. Elemental analyses, conductometric and magnetic measurements, u.v./vis, i.r., e.p.r. and mass spectroscopy have been employed to characterize them. The complexes adopt an exo coordination of CuII ions and tpmc. The dithiocarbamate ion joins both the sulphur and the copper atoms acting as a bridging ligand The presence of different heteroatoms in the piperidine ring influences the (C=N) and (C=S) vibrations which decrease in the order of the complexes: Pipdtc>N-Mepipdtc>Pzdtc>Morphdtc>Timdtc ligands. Attention has been paid to the detailed mechanism of the mass spectral fragmentation of the complexes. The g eff factors of the complexes have been also estimated by e.p.r. spectra. Finally, the complexes obtained demonstrate microbiologycal activity against some bacteria.  相似文献

Six new Ln(III) complexes viz., [Gd(tptz)(SCN)3(CH3OH)2OH2]·CH3OH (1), [Eu(tptz)(SCN)3(CH3OH)2OH2]·CH3OH (2), [Tb(tptz)(SCN)3(OH2)3]4 (3), [Gd(tptz)(OBz)2(μ-OBz)OH2]2·2H2O (4), [OH2(OBz)2(tptz)Eu1(μ-OBz)2Eu2(tptz)(OBz)2OH2]·CH3OH·7H2O (5), and {[Tb1(tptz)(OBz)2(μ-OBz)]2·[Tb2(tptz)(OBz)3CH3OH]2}·2CH3OH·4H2O (6) (Ln = Gd, Eu, Tb; tptz = 2,4,6-tris(2-pyridyl)-1,3,5-triazine; BzONa = sodium benzoate), have been synthesized and characterized by physicochemical methods including single-crystal X-ray crystallography. The X-ray studies demonstrate that 1–3 are mononuclear, whereas 4–6 are binuclear. The photophysical properties of 1–6 have been studied with ultraviolet absorption and emission spectral studies. Their thermal properties have been studied by thermogravimetric (TG) and derivative thermogravimetric analysis (DTG), demonstrating that the final product after decomposition was Ln2O3 for all these complexes.  相似文献

A novel ligand, N2,N6-bis[2-(3-methylpyridyl)]pyridine-2,6-dicarboxamide (L2) and the corresponding Eu(III) and Tb(III) hydrochlorate complexes have been synthesized and characterized in detail based on elemental analysis, IR and NMR. The crystal and molecular structure of the complexes was determined by X-ray crystallography. The Eu(III) and Tb(III) ions were found to coordinate to the amido nitrogen atoms and pyridine nitrogen atoms. The luminescence properties of lanthanide complexes in solid state, in different solutions and in different pH value were investigated. The result shows that Tb(III) complexes exhibit more efficient luminescence than Eu(III) complexes, and the ligand (L2) is an excellent sensitizer to Tb(III) ion.  相似文献

Optical power limiting and luminescence properties of two Pt(II) complexes with thiophenyl and phenyl groups in the ligands, trans-Pt(P(n-Bu)3)2(C[triple bond]C-Ar)2, where Ar = -C4H2S-C[triple bond]C-p-C6H4-n-C5H11 (1) and -p-C6H4-C[triple bond]C-C4H3S (2), have been investigated. The fluorescence lifetimes were found to be on the sub-nanosecond time scale, and the quantum yields were low, in accord with fast intersystem crossing from the excited singlet to triplet manifold. The phosphorescence lifetimes of 1 and 2 were shorter than that of a Pt(II) complex having two phenyl groups in the ligands. In order to elucidate the C-Pt bonding nature in the ground state, the 13C NMR chemical shift of the carbon directly bonded to Pt, the coupling constants 1JPtC, 2JPtC, and 1JPtP, and IR nuC[triple bond]C wavenumbers were obtained for 1, 2, and three other trans-diarylalkynyl Pt(II) complexes. X-ray diffraction data of 1 and 2 and density functional theory calculated geometries of models of 1, 2, and trans-Pt(P(n-Bu)3)2(C[triple bond]C-p-C6H4-C[triple bond]C-C6H5)2 (3) show that 1 preferably exists in a different conformation from that of 2 and 3. The variations in photophysical, NMR, and IR data can be rationalized by differences in geometry and pi-backbonding from Pt to the alkynyl ligand.  相似文献

Starting from pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid (DPA), a series of novel pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid derivatives were synthesized. In these compounds, 4-(hydroxymethyl)pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylate (4-HMDPA) and 4-[(bis-carboxymethyl-amino)-methyl]-pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid (4-BMDPA) were used as multifunctional ligands to coordinate with Tb(III) and Eu(III) and the complexes were prepared. The fluorescence properties of the solid complexes and their solutions were investigated in detail. The results indicated that the weak election-withdrawing group 4-hydroxymethyl in 4-position of pyridine in 4-HMDPA could weaken the fluorescence intensity of the lanthanide complexes. The contradistinctive experimental results showed that the fluorescence intensities of these complexes are related to pH values of the aqueous solutions and the dipole moments of solvent molecules: in the neutral aqueous solutions, the fluorescence intensities of these complexes were strongest, while the dipole moments were lower when the fluorescence intensities were stronger. 4-BMDPA is the better sensitizer and may be used as time-resolved fluoroimmunoassay. __________ Translated from Chemical Journal of Chinese Universities, 2006, 27(3) (in Chinese)  相似文献

Three new solid lanthanide(III) complexes, [Ln(1-AMUH)3] · (NO3)3 (1-AMUH = 1-amidino-O-methylurea; Ln = Eu(III), Gd(III), or Tb(III)) were synthesised and characterised by elemental analysis, infrared spectra, magnetic moment measurement, and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectra for Gd(III) complex. The formation of lanthanide(III) complexes is confirmed by the spectroscopic studies. The photophysical properties of Gd(III), Eu(III), and Tb(III) complexes in solid state were investigated. The Tb(III) complex exhibits the strongest green emission at 543 nm and the Eu(III) complex shows a red emission at 615 nm while the Gd(III) complex shows a weak emission band at 303 nm. Under excitation with UV light, these complexes exhibited an emission characteristic of central metal ions. The powder EPR spectrum of the Gd(III) complex at 300 K exhibits a single broad band with g = 2.025. The bi-exponential nature of the decay lifetime curve is observed in the Eu(III) and Tb(III) complexes. The results reveal them to have potential as luminescent materials.  相似文献
