With the progress of printed circuit technology, the reliability of bulk insulation has become important, as well as that of surface insulation, particularly in multilayer boards and embedded boards. We observed the space charge behavior of various insulating materials used in printed circuit boards, and found that internal charges move in aramid/epoxy specimens under dc electric fields. The electric field near the surface of the specimen, therefore, was increased to have more than twice the strength of the average applied field. The space charge profile was influenced by the internal structure, and its formation was accelerated by the increase of temperature. Since the space charge profile affects the internal electric field distribution, the internal charge behavior should be examined with respect to the design of the insulation of a printed circuit board.  相似文献

With the advent of EHV transmission lines and the almost certain possibility of UHV lines, it becomes increasingly important to describe accurately the transmission line electromagnetic field interaction with life forms. This paper develops a numerical method for predicting current and normal electric field distributions induced on humans situated in the near vicinity of the lines. The technique is based on the method of moments in which the human body is modeled as a collection of straight cylindrical segments with lengths and radii comparable to that section of the body being modeled. Various scenarios are considered, eg., a well-insulated person standing on the ground beneath the transmission line; an individual in good contact with the earth; or a lineman working in very close proximity to an energized conductor. The position of the arms is varied; for example, arms extended or down at the side. The question of biological hazards from exposure to fields of these systems is also discussed.  相似文献

The sign of the majority photocarriers in semi-insulating iron-doped InP and undoped GaAs containing EL2 centres illuminated at 1.06 ?m is unambiguously determined from the direction of beam coupling in a two-wave photorefractive mixing experiment previously applied to ferroelectric crystals. Majority photocarriers in these InP:Fe and GaAs:EL2 crystals are found to be electrons.  相似文献

This paper presents a novel concept to increase the number of active devices combined in a cavity oscillator by coupling them to both electric and magnetic fields inside the cavity. The structure employs probes and coaxial lines for electric and magnetic coupling, respectively. The sum of the output powers from individual devices combined can be obtained by properly adjusting the coupling factors of the circuit. Operation principles of the circuit are analyzed for probe coupling, and results are applied to explain the operation of the circuit when both probe and coaxial coupling are used. The circuits described here are free from moding instabilities. Prototype circuits have been constructed at X-band, using Gunn diodes, for experimental confirmation of the theory developed.  相似文献
