In this paper,we investigate the capacity degradation due to the coexistence of WCDMA and CDMA2000 net-works by system-level Monte Carlo simulation.Both systems are simulated according to the deployment of macro cells,andspeech service is considered.The capacity losses under different carrier spacing and different geographical offset are evalu-ated.Simulation results show that considerable capacity loss is seen when WCDMA is the victim system,while the influ-ence of WCDMA to CDMA2000 is slight.Increasing carrier-to-carrier spacing and decreasing geographical offset lead toless capacity loss and co-locating the base stations of both systems is a preferred solution.  相似文献

The routing algorithms of DTN have the inbuilt storage management scheme such as Hop based TTL (Spray and Wait) or passive cure (Potential-based Entropy Adaptive Routing PEAR). There has been a significant amount of work in the past regarding buffer management policies. In this paper, we have proposed a new message deletion policy for multi-copy routing schemes. In this scheme, message delivery information is communicated to the other nodes in the network for removing useless bundles from the network, which prevents the nodes from the buffer overflow problem and avoid transfer of useless message replicas thus relaxing the resources of the nodes. We evaluate our proposed method by simulating network, on four major DTNs routing algorithms: Epidemic, Spray and Wait, ProPHET and MaxProp. The simulation results clearly show significant improvement in the value of delivery probability and the overhead ratio for an Epidemic, Spray and Wait, and Prophet routing protocols.  相似文献

Drones, or unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), show high potential for parcel delivery. Drone delivery may be faster, less expensive, and more eco-friendly than traditional delivery modes such as trucks. Drones are not yet in commercial use, but many companies such as Amazon and Google have done pilot tests, and they will probably become common in the near future. Regardless of what companies decide, however, adoption intention among customers is vague. This study explores the factors affecting attitudes to drone delivery service and intention to adopt among 296 U.S. consumers by online survey. The results demonstrate that the relative advantages of speed and environmental friendliness, along with complexity, performance risk, and privacy risk, affect drone delivery adoption. Personal innovativeness also positively affects adoption intention. Furthermore, the results show that the determinants of drone delivery adoption differ according to the customer’s area of residence.  相似文献

In-vehicle contextual augmented reality (AR) has the potential to provide novel visual feedbacks to drivers for an enhanced driving experience. In this paper, we propose a new AR traffic sign recognition system (AR-TSR) to improve driving safety and enhance the driver’s experience based on the Haar cascade and the Bag-of-Visual-Words approach, using spatial information to improve accuracy and an overview of studies related to the driver’s perception and the effectiveness of the AR in improving driving safety. In the first step, the region of interest (ROI) is extracted using a scanning window with a Haar cascade detector and an AdaBoost classifier to reduce the computational region in the hypothesis generation step. Second, we proposed a new computationally efficient method to model global spatial distribution of visual words by taking into consideration the spatial relationships of its visual words. Finally, a multiclass sign classifier takes the positive ROIs and assigns a 3D traffic sign for each one using a linear SVM. Experimental results show that the suggested method could reach comparable performance of the state-of-the-art approaches with less computational complexity and shorter training time, and the AR-TSR more strongly impacts the allocation of visual attention during the decision-making phase.  相似文献

On the basis of the continuity equation, the spatial distribution of photogenerated excess electrons in the neutral region of the CdTe layer in a CdS/CdTe heterostructure is analyzed taking into account recombination at the rear surface of the layer. It is demonstrated that, owing to diffusion, excess electrons penetrate deep into the CdTe layer at distances far exceeding the effective penetration length for solar radiation. Calculations of the short-circuit current indicate that, for electron lifetimes of 10?10–10?9 s, typical of thin-film CdS/CdTe solar cells, recombination losses are insignificant if the CdTe layer’s thickness amounts to 3–4 μm but increase dramatically if the thickness is below 1–1.5 μm. In order to eliminate recombination losses in more efficient solar cells where the electron lifetime is ≥10?8 s the absorbing CdTe layer needs to be much thicker.  相似文献

Medical intervention by electrical current as applied to humans or animals may have tremendous therapeutic impact if delivered while being carefully controlled. Otherwise, the situation can be harmful in terms of injury or even become lethal. These consequences demand close inspection of all relevant biological and technical factors. Regarding methods to counter fibrillation of the heart substantial progress has been made, but defining a gold standard for the waveshape and energy delivery remains a serious challenge. The anticipated answer is not simply a range somewhere between a maximum and a minimum, but most likely an "intelligently" selected case-specific optimum, delicately positioned between effective and unsafe. Combining insight from theory with pertinent experimental findings may offer a clearer view on an unresolved issue that often points to a cross-road of life and death.  相似文献

At frequencies of between 100 GHz and 30 THz, propagation conditions are severely affected by the influence of the composition and phenomena of the troposphere. This paper focuses on the use of radiometric measurements to estimate attenuation at 100 and 300 GHz, considering non-scattering scenarios, in which the main contributions are given by atmospheric gases and non-rainy clouds. These techniques allow the estimation of the absorption loss through the entire atmosphere, without the need for a signal source situated in a satellite or a high altitude aircraft. On the basis of well-accepted absorption models, the results of calculating gaseous, cloud, and total attenuation using 3-year meteorological data from Madrid, Spain, are detailed, as well as estimates of the expected values of the sky brightness temperature as measured by the radiometer. Finally, based on the results obtained, a discussion on the use of radiometric measurements at both frequencies is presented, in connection with an experimental campaign currently under preparation.  相似文献
