Two kinds of monocyclic troponoid mesogens, 2,5-dialkanoyloxytropones (4) and 5-alkanoyloxy2-alkoxytropones (5), were prepared. The former showed monotropic smectic A phases and the virtual isotropic liquid-smectic A transitions of the latter were determined by extrapolation of results in a binary phase diagram. Comparing the mesogenic properties between the tropones 4 and the 2-alkanoyloxy-5-alkoxytropones (1), the alkanoyloxy group at C-5 enhances both the melting points and the transition temperatures of the smectic A phases. From the comparison between 5 and 1 , the alkanoyloxy group at C-2 lowers the melting points.  相似文献

The synthesis and characterization of a series of new polyacrylates 1, containing the azobenzene mesogen spaced from the backbone by a hexamethylene segment and substituted in the 4-position by an alkanoyl chain of variable length, together with those of the relevant precursors are reported. Optical and X-ray analyses provided evidence for the presence of a smectic A mesophase in a fairly broad range of temperature in both polymers and low molar mass compounds. In polyacrylates 1, the side-chain substituents were fully interdigitated in a smectic A1 structure. The comparison of the transition parameters of polymers 1 with those of another series of polyacrylates 7 containing the azobenzene unit substituted in the 4-position by an alkyloxy chain of variable length revealed that the replacement of an oxygen atom by a carbonyl group strongly enhanced the smectogenic character of the azobenzene group.  相似文献

28-Carboxymethoxy lupane tritepenoids 3 and 4 were synthesized by alkylation of betulin with the THP protected 2-hydroxyethyl iodide followed by oxidation and reduction.Direct reaction of betulin (5) or betulone (10) with ethyl bromoacetate led to 28-O-acylation, instead of 28-O-alkylation.The targeted compounds 3 and 4 were not cytotoxic at the highest concentrationtested (75 mmol/L), suggesting that elongation of the chain length at the 28-position in both betulinic acid (1) and betulonic acid (2)was detrimental to the cytotoxicity.The acylation products 28-O-bromoacetates (8a, 8b and 11) and 28-O-methoxyacetate 13exhibited cytotoxicity against several cancer cell lines tested.  相似文献

5-Amino-3-benzyl (aryl)thio-1,2,4-triazoles and its analogues (pyrazole) 1 are important intermediates for the syntheses of a lot of biological active compounds[1,2]. In our previous paper[3], we reported the regioselective addition of 1 with aryl isocyanates and the experimental results showed that the orientation of the addition of 5-amino-3-benzyl (aryl)thio-1,2,4-triazoles and its analogues with the aryl isocyanates can be directed by controlling the reaction temperature.The 1-position adduct 2 was obtained regiospecifically below 120℃, whereas the 5-position adduct 3 was obtained selectively when the reaction temperature was raised to 170℃ (Scheme 1).  相似文献

Two alkyl (1b and 1c) and four fluoroalkyl derivatives (1d-1f) of 4-arylbutyric acid (1c, 1d and 1e) and 4-arylbutanol (1b, 1f and 1g) [aryl = 2',3'-difluoro-4'-(2-(E-4-pentylcyclohexyl)ethyl)-biphenyl-1-yl] were prepared and investigated in the pure form as nematic materials (1b and 1c) and as additives to a ferroelectric liquid crystal (FLC) host (1d-1f). A comparison of 1b and 1c with the decyl analogue 1a demonstrates the effect of terminal chain modification on thermal and electro-optical properties. The substitution of the -CH2O- (1b) or -COO- (1c) for -CH2CH2- in 1a destabilized the N and SmA phases or completely eliminated the smectic behaviour (1c). Dielectric analysis revealed that the chain modification increased the negative Δε, reduced elastic constant K 11 and moderately decreased rotational viscosity γ1. The temperature dependence of the key electro-optical parameters was analysed for ester 2, the methyl analogue of 1c, which exhibits a 45 K wide N phase. All four fluoroalkyl derivatives 1d-1f showed enantiotropic SmA phases and 1e also exhibited a monotropic SmC phase. Solutions of 1d-1f in a FLC host (0.2 mmol g-1) increased the tilt angle Θ (up to 45° for 1g), reduced rotational viscosity γ1 and the risetime τ. The most dramatic changes were observed for 1g, which contains 15 fluorine atoms.  相似文献

The synthesis and liquid crystalline properties of new series of 1,2,4- and 1,3,4-oxadiazole derivatives (2a-f and 5a-f respectively) are reported. These compounds contain only one terminal flexible alkoxy chain, the other terminal substituent is a protecting benzyl group. All compounds of series 2 exhibit an enantiotropic nematic phase. The homologue with the longest chain (2f) displays an enantiotropic dimorphism smectic A- nematic. None of the compounds of series 5 shows mesomorphism and only crystal-isotropic transitions were observed. The liquid crystalline properties were investigated by differential scanning calorimetry, polarizing optical microscopy and X-ray measurements. Luminescence properties, in chloroform solution, of 2f and the series 5 compounds were evaluated. Good photoluminescence quantum yields for compounds of series 5 were observed. Compound 2f, incorporating the 1,2,4-oxadiazole ring shows a very strong reduction in emissive properties.  相似文献

A series of 2-(4-n-alkylphenyl)indenes (3) with different alkyl substituents (CH3 to C10H21) were synthesized and systematically characterized using differential scanning calorimetry, polarizing optical microscopy and X-ray diffraction compared with 2-phenylindene (3a). Depending on the alkyl chain length, highly ordered crystal-smectic E mesophases were observed and confirmed by X-ray diffraction for the derivatives 3h-3k with heptyl to decyl chains (n = 6-9). For 3f with a pentyl side chain (n = 4), an X-ray crystal structure analysis was carried out.  相似文献

The effect of alkyl and alkoxy chain lengths on the layer structures of smectic A and C phases has been examined by X-ray diffraction measurements on three isomeric systems: 4-alkoxyphenyl and 4-n-alkylphenyl 4-[(4-octyloxyphenyl)carbonyloxy]benzoates (1); 4-octyloxyphenyl 4-[4-(octyloxyphenyl)carbonyloxy]benzoates (2); 4-octyloxyphenyl, 4-alkoxyphenyl and 4-n-alkylphenyl terephthalates (3); and p-phenylene 4-octyloxybenzoates, 4-alkoxybenzoate and 4-n-alkylbenzoate (4). Although all the derivatives exhibit smectic A and/or C phases having a monolayer arrangement of the molecules, the layer spacings are considerably affected by alternation of the ester linkages. The layer spacings for the homologues of 1 are a little shorter than the calculated molecular lengths, while those for 2 agree with the calculated molecular lengths. The layer spacings for 3 show a notable even-odd alternation in the higher homologues. The results are discussed in terms of a subtle change in the molecular structures due to replacement of the ester groups.  相似文献

A homologous series of carborane-containing Schiff's bases 1A[n] (n = 1-10) was prepared and compared with the analogous series 1B[n] derived from terephthaldehyde. An exponential fit of the T NI values for both series yielded a quantitative assessment of the effect of ring structure on mesophase stability. This includes the T NI value for n→∞ (86°C for 1A[n] and 209°C for 1B[n]) and steepness of descent (0.135 for 1A[n] and 0.095 for 1B[n]). The difference in behaviour of the two series was attributed, largely, to conformational properties of the central rings A and B. Electronic interactions between the central rings and the π-substituents were investigated by UV spectroscopy and by quantum-mechanical calculations. The effect of replacement of O with CH2 in the terminal chain of 1[n] on the namatic phase stability was assessed for n = 5-7.  相似文献

A series of azopyridine-containing hydrogen bonding acceptors (4a-c) with flexible spacers of oligo(methylene) were synthesised. Hydrogen-bonded polymeric complexes 4/5 and trimeric complexes 4/62 , where 5 and 6 are aromatic dicarboxylic acids and monocarboxylic acids, respectively, were prepared and their liquid crystallinity was examined using differential scanning calorimetry and polarising optical microscopy. The study showed that most of the complexes displayed reversible thermotropic nematic phase. The isotropic to nematic phase transition temperatures of polymeric complexes 4/5 and trimeric complexes 4/62 in general decreased with the increase in length of spacers and terminal groups in the corresponding proton acceptors 4 and the proton donors 5 and 6, respectively. Hydrogen bonding interactions in complexes 4/5 and 4/62 were studied by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy.  相似文献

In recent years, fused heterocycles have been found to possess many unique properties in synthesis and pharmacology. Especially, 1,2,4-triazolo[3,4-b]-1,3,4-thiadiazoles derivatives have been attracting much attention of chemists and pharmacologists because of their broad-spectrum biological activities such as antibacterial1, hypotensive and CNS depressant2 activities. We have prepared some 3,6-substituted 1,2,4-triazolo[3,4-b]-1,3,4-thiadiazoles and found that these compounds exhibited antimacrobial, insecticidal and promote plant growth.3-5 Cinchophen had been used widely as medicine in clinic,but has been obsolete in recent years due to its by-effect. In order to seek for other uses of cinchophen, as a continuation of our preceeding studies, we used cinchophen as the starting material to synthesize ten new 6-aryl-3-cinchophenyl-l,2,4-triazolo[3,4-b]-l,3,4-thiadiazoles 5a-j. Compound 1 was prepared by the reaction of cinchophen and ethanol in the presence of sulfuric acid. 1 then reacted with hydrazine hydrate in absolute ethanol to give 2 which yielded 3 on treatment with CS2 and KOH. On refluxing of 3 with excess hydrazine hydrate, 4 was obtained. 4 reacted with various substituted benzoic acids in the presence of POCl3 to afifort 5a-j.  相似文献

The hexa-4-dodecyloxybenzoyl derivative 1 of azacrown [18]-N6 was originally reported to have a 'tubular' mesophase on the basis of its large central ring and 6-fold symmetry. Starting in the mesophase, annealing of 1 under a cover slip results in formation of a new crystalline phase that melts directly to an isotropic liquid at the temperature previously observed for the mesophase to isotropic transition. Thus the phase behaviour of 1 is kinetically controlled. The analogous hexa-3,4-bisdodecyloxybenzoyl derivative 2 of azacrown [18]-N6 has no kinetic limitations to its phase changes and has an enantiotropic columnar liquid crystalline phase. We have synthesized side chain copolysiloxanes with a (CH2)11 spacer and 75-84 per cent by weight of the same 4-dodecyloxybenzoyl-[18]-N6 mesogen. The polysiloxanes also display a liquid crystalline phase.  相似文献

A new β-resorcylic macrolide, 5'-hydroxyzearalenol (1), was isolated from the culture broth of a marine-derived fungus Fusarium sp. 05ABR26. Three known compounds, zearalenone (2), 8'-hydroxyzearalenone (3) and zearalenol (4) were also isolated. The structure and relative stereochemistry of 1 were elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic data and single-crystal X-ray diffraction data. Compound 2 displayed potent inhibitory activity against Pyricularia oryzae with a MIC value of 6.25 μg/mL, while compound 3 was much less active; however, 1 and 4 showed no obvious activity.  相似文献

2,3,6,7,10,11-Hexasubstituted triphenylenes have been synthesized that contain a mixture of hydrophobic (C6H13O) and hydrophilic (CH3OCH2CH2OCH2CH2O) side chains. At one extreme HAT6 (1a) (six hydrophobic chains) shows thermotropic behaviour and at the other TP6EO2M (1e) (six hydrophilic chains) shows lyotropic behaviour. Of the triphenylenes with a mixture of hydrophobic and hydrophilic side chains, only the triphenylene with one hydrophilic side chain and five hydrophobic side chains (1b) gives a thermotropic columnar phase. None of the others show liquid crystal behaviour. However, all of these triphenylenes form binary 1:1 compounds when mixed with PDQ9 (2a) and with PTP9 (2b). These CPI (complimentary polytopic interaction) stabilized compounds give thermotropic hexagonal columnar phases over wide temperature ranges.  相似文献

New chiral dopants β-hydroxy ketones 1, 1,3-diols 2, 1,3-dioxanes 3 and 1,3-dioxan-2-ones 4 were designed and synthesized. Reaction of (R)-1,2-epoxyoctane with carbanions derived from 2-(4-substituted phenyl)-1,3-dithianes followed by hydrolysis of the resulting hydroxy dithianes afforded 1. Reduction of 1 gave the diols 2, which yielded 3 upon acetalization and 4 upon carbonation. The syn isomers of 2, 3, and 4 exhibited larger spontaneous polarizations, when applied as chiral dopants, than the anti isomers or hydroxy ketones 1.  相似文献

Five novel biscembranoids,ximaolides H-L(1-5),along with four known related compounds(6-9) were isolated from the Hainan soft coral Sarcophyton tortuosum.The structures of the new compounds were determined by extensive spectroscopic analysis,quantum chemical calculations,and/or by comparing their CD spectra with those of the known compounds.Compounds 1 and 2 are the first examples of biscembranoids bearing a 1,35-bridged lactone moiety,4 is the first biscembranoid comprising an uncommon oxetane ring,and 5 represents the first 36-peroxyl biscembranoid.Ximaolides Ⅰ(2),K(4) and F(9) exhibited interesting anti-inflammatory activity by the inhibition of LPS-induced TNF-α protein release in RAW264.7 macrophages.  相似文献

An X-ray study is performed on powder specimens and on stretched oriented fibres of two liquid crystalline polyacrylates containing the azobenzene mesogenic unit with either a 4'-n-pentyloxy (sample 1-4) or 4'-n-hexyloxy (sample 1-5) substituent. The X-ray diffraction patterns of both samples showed the presence of a bilayer smectic C mesophase with the mesogneic groups tilted by an angle β ∼ 45° (1-4) or β ∼ 38° (1-5) with respect to the layer normal. The electron density profile p(z) along the direction normal to the smectic layers was calculated by Fourier inversion and possible structural models of the smectic mesophase are discussed. A partial interdigitation of the terminal alkyloxy substituents appears to occur.  相似文献
