Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) mechanical lithography is a simple but significant method for nanofabrication. In this work,
we used this method to construct nanostructures on Pt/Cu bilayer metal electrodes under ambient conditions in air. The influence
of various scratch parameters, such as the applied force, scan velocity and circle times, on the lithography patterns was
investigated. The Pt-Cu-Cu
x
O-Cu-Pt nanostructure was constructed by choosing suitable scratch parameters and oxidation at room temperature. The properties
of the scratched regions were also investigated by friction force microscopy and conductive AFM (C-AFM). The I–V curves show symmetric and linear properties, and Ohmic contacts were formed. These results indicate that AFM mechanical lithography
is a powerful tool for fabricating novel metal-semiconductor nanoelectronic devices.

The paper reports on measurements of pulsed plasma-ion streams, as performed with the selected solid-state nuclear track detectors (SSNTD). The ion-beams were produced by an experimental device (RPI-IBIS) equipped with coaxial electrodes (each made of molybdenum rods) and a fast-acting gas valve. The device was operated at 30 kV/44 kJ, with puffing of pure hydrogen or deuterium. The spatial structure of the ion beams was studied with pinhole cameras equipped with replaceable detectors, and ion mass- and energy-spectra were measured with a Thomson spectrometer. To analyse low-energy ions (below the energy thresholds of LR 115A and PM-355 SSNTD) an additional accelerating system was applied. It was observed that ions of energy are emitted in bunches, and the ion flux amounts to at a distance of 30 cm from the electrodes outlet. Energy spectra of protons and deuterons ranged from about 30 keV to about 400 keV. The ion distributions, as recorded by means of the PM-355 and LR 115A detectors, are similar. 相似文献

Equations for calculating track parameters have been proposed, which invariably involve the track etch rate Vt and the bulk etch rate Vb. The present study measured Vb for the LR115 solid-state nuclear track detector using atomic force microscopy (AFM). The detectors were partially masked using rubber cement and then etched in 2.5 N NaOH solution at 60°C for time periods ranging from 5 to 40 min. The rubber cement was then peeled off and cross-sectional images of the LR115 detectors were obtained by AFM. Vb has been found to have different values below and beyond the etching time of about 13.5 min, with the values of 0.0555 and 0.0875 μm min−1, respectively. The increase in Vb with the etching time can be explained by a diffusion-etch model, in which the additional damage of the detector material is due to those etchant ions diffused into the detector over time. Now that Vb has been determined, this can be combined with the track etch rate Vt to calculate track parameters. 相似文献

An automation system consisting of the microscope, video camera and Pentium PC with frame recorder was created. The system provides counting of nuclear tracks on the SSNTD surface with a resolution of 752 × 582 points, determination of the surface area and main axis of the track. The pattern recognition program was developed for operation in Windows 3.1 (or higher) ensuring a convenient interface with the user. In a comparison of the results on automatic track counting with the more accurate hand mode it was shown that the program enables the tracks to be detected even on images with a rather high noise level. It ensures a high accuracy of track counting being comparable with the accuracy of manual counting for densities of tracks in the range of up to 2·105 tracks/cm2. The automatic system was applied in the experimental investigation of uranium and transuranium elements. 相似文献

Heavy ion recording in dielectric isotropic detectors has a wide range of applications in uranium cartography or dating. In this study, solid state nuclear tracks detectors (SSNTDs) have been applied to localise neptunium-237, in vivo, by means of the neutron-induced fission cartography of neptunium-237 nuclei in organ sections. At the cellular level, a precise localisation can only be achieved with a good understanding of the etch pit evolution during the chemical etching process.
A tailor-made software for modelling the etching process has been developed to simulate the profile of an etched track produced by a neutron-induced fission fragment. This software is based on a model that considers the evolution of the track etching velocity along the damage trail in order to perfectly model the shape of the track. 相似文献

In recent papers, it was shown that coupled chemical-topological reactions (CCRs) with both NaOH etchant and silver salts, performed in thin swift-heavy ion-irradiated polymers under the application of a test voltage across the polymer foils, eventually gave rise to characteristic current/voltage features and Bode plots that were tentatively attributed to the formation of Ag2O membranes within the etched tracks. The same was also found when replacing the silver ions by lithium ions, and adding fluoride ions to the NaOH etchant, to promote LiF membrane formation. Ion Transmission Spectrometry (ITS) enabled us to reconfirm the existence of these membranes beyond doubt. The membrane thickness was determined to be ~0.2–0.4?µm in the best cases.ITS also revealed that hitherto membrane formation occurs only in ~1% of all tracks, or even less. The reason for this poor abundance seems to be that the decisive factor for membrane formation, which is the firm anchoring of the emerging solid Ag2O or LiF reaction products on the etched track walls, was hitherto rarely fulfilled. We attribute this tentatively to the too high test voltage applied for controlling the CCR process that might hinder the product anchoring on the walls by promoting nanofluidic electromigration. We report on first experiments combining quasi-digital highly selective etching and atomic force microscopy (AFM) to examine the interior interfaces of semiconductor heterostructures. Lattice matched (GaIn)As/InP heterostructures grown by metalorganic vapour-phase epitaxy (MOVPE) are taken as a model system to check the capabilities of this new method. Standard selective etchants for different material systems have been optimized in selectivity and etch rate to achieve a quasi-digital etching behaviour. In this way, the real structure of interior interfaces can be determined by AFM. We find a significant difference between the surface of the heterostructure and the interior interfaces. 相似文献

The angular distribution of fission fragments in alpha induced fission has been studied at an incident energy of 55 MeV in197Au target. The relative differential fission cross sections were measured at different angles between 10° and 170° and the
resulting angular distributions fitted by least squares method with Legendre polynomials. In the present work, a correction
for the self-scattering and self-absorption of fission fragments in the target itself was applied and a target of 3 mg/cm2 was used to get good statistics. The anisotropy for 55 MeV alpha induced fission of gold was 2·83±0·43 and the fission cross
section calculated by integrating the measured angular distributions over all the solid angles was 5·2±1.0 mb, confirming
the value of 4·0±0·05 mb reported by Burnettet al but contrary to the high value of 10±3 mb reported by Ralarosyet al. 相似文献

CR-39 plastic nuclear track detector is used to measure the fraction of alpha-particle tracks due to radon daughters activities plated-out on the internal walls of a cylindrical-shaped plastic can. Radium chloride solution is used as a radon source, the exposure time is ranged from 4 hours to 3 days. To assess the percentage of plate-out effect on CR-39 nuclear track detector, two different methods were used. In one experiment, a few circular parallel pairs of CR-39 sheets were hanged in the can device. In the other experiment, the estimation of the plate-out effect has been performed, after exposure to the radon source, by detecting tracks with a second unexposed sheet placed in close contact to the exposed wall and detectors. In the two methods, it was found that the chemically etched tracks related to plated-out activities contribute about 50% of the measured alpha-particles tracks. Der CR-39 Plast-Kernspurdetektor wurde zur Messung des Anteils an Spuren von Alphateilchen verwendet, die sich von den Radon-Tochterprodukten ergeben und auf den Innenwänden eines zylindrisch gestalteten Plastbehälters abgeschieden haben. Als Radonquelle wurde eine Radiumchlorid-Lösung verwendet und die Expositionszeiten lagen zwischen 4 Stunden und 3 Tagen. Um den Anteil des Abscheidungseffektes in einem CR-39 Spurdetektor zu bestimmen, wurden zwei unterschiedliche Methoden angewendet. In dent einen Versuch wurden einige zylindrische Parallelpaare von CR-39 Folien in den Behälter gehängt. In dent anderen Versuch wurde der Abscheidungseffekt in der Weise ermittelt, daβ nach der Exposition auf die Radonquelle mit einer zweiten nichtexponierten Folie die Spuren bestimmt wurden. Die nichtexponierte Folie war dabei in einem engen Kontakt zur exponierten Wand und den Detektoren. Durch beide Methoden wurde gefunden, daβ die chemiseh geätzten Spuren, die auf die Abscheidimgsaktivitäten züruckgeführt werden können, einen ungefahren Anteil von 50% an den gemessenen Alphateilchenspuren ausmachen. 相似文献

Radon alpha activity concentration has been measured in 28 homes in the Erbil Capital-Iraqi Kurdistan region during the autumn season by using time-integrated passive radon dosimeters containing CR-39 solid state nuclear track detectors “SSNTDs”. The radon activity concentrations in these homes range from (10.33–90.34) with an average of . The average absorption effective dose equivalent for a person living in homes for which the investigation were done was found to be , obtained by using an equilibrium factor of 0.5 and an occupancy factor of 0.8. The average lung cancer cases per year per 106 person was found to be 23±12. 相似文献

We report optical and electrical properties of Cu-Ni nanoparticles in hydrogenated amorphous carbon (Cu-Ni NPs @ a-C:H) with different surface morphology. Ni NPs with layer thicknesses of 5, 10 and 15 nm over Cu NPs @ a-C:H were prepared by co-deposition of RF-sputtering and RF-Plasma Enhanced Chemical Vapor Deposition (RF-PECVD) from acetylene gas and Cu and Ni targets. A nonmetal-metal transition was observed as the thickness of Ni over layer increases. The surface morphology of the sample was described by a two dimensional (2D) Gaussian self-affine fractal, except the sample with 10 nm thickness of Ni over layer, which is in the nonmetal-metal transition region. X-ray diffraction profile indicates that Cu NPs and Ni NPs with fcc crystalline structure are formed in these films. Localized Surface Plasmon Resonance (LSPR) peak of Cu NPs is observed around 600 nm in visible spectra, which is widen and shifted to lower wavelengths as the thickness of Ni over layer increases. The variation of LSPR peak width correlates with conductivity variation of these bilayers. We assign both effects to surface electron delocalization of Cu NPs. 相似文献

This paper presents the results of the influence of soft X-ray radiation on craters induced in SSNTDs by energetic α particles and protons of energy in the MeV range. We checked two detectors of the PM-355 and CR-39 types in order to verify and compare their resistance to the harsh conditions of high-temperature plasma experiments. To determine this effect some detector samples were first irradiated with α particles emitted from natural α particle sources and protons delivered by a particle accelerator. After that these samples were exposed to soft X ray radiation emitted from an X ray tube and also from the PF-1000 Plasma Focus facility. Doses during X ray irradiations varied from 0 up to tens of kGy. The irradiated samples were then etched in steps and track diameters were determined versus the absorbed dose and etching time and compared with those measured in samples not exposed to X ray radiation. 相似文献

Lattice-resolution images of single-crystal α-alumina (sapphire) (0 0 0 1) surfaces have been obtained using contact-mode AFM under ambient conditions. It was found that the hexagonal surface lattice has a periodicity of 0.47 ± 0.11 nm, which is identical to that reported previously when the same surface was imaged in water. Large lattice corrugations (as high as 1 nm) were observed, but were concluded to be imaging artifacts because of the strong friction which causes additional deflection of the cantilever. The additional deflection of the cantilever is registered by the detector of the optical beam-deflection AFM resulting in an overestimation of the height at each lattice point. Abrupt changes were also resolved in the topography including honeycomb patterns and a transition from 2D lattices to 1D parallel stripes, with scanning direction. These phenomena can be explained by the commensurate sliding between the tip and sapphire surface due to the strong contact force. 相似文献

Sealed can- and alpha-autoradiography techniques were used to estimate the effective and real contents of Ra-224 respectively in Egyptian black sand samples collected from Rosetta City in the Nile Delta at the North Coast of Egypt. The effective Ra-224 content was found to be 15 ± 3 Bq · kg?1. From the average chemical composition of the black sand samples, the range-energy relation for the alpha-particles of the thorium series was calculated. Assuming radioactive equilibrium, the real Ra-224 content for samples collected from different regions were found to range from 90 to 900 Bq · kg?1. As a result, the total emanation power was measured and then used to estimate grain diameter of the black sand. The average mass exhalation rate of the different locations in Rosetta City was also estimated. 相似文献

Production of target fragments from reactions of 160 MeV proton beams in aluminum and polyethylene was measured with CR-39 plastic nuclear track detectors (PNTD). Due to the detection limit of PNTD, primary protons cannot be detected; only low-energy short-range target fragments are registered. As a feasibility study, a so called “two step etching method” was employed to get the linear energy transfer (LET) spectra, absorbed dose, and dose equivalent. The SrTiO3 (001) substrates treated by chemical etching in NH4F-buffered HF solution and annealing in oxygen ambient have been studied by an atomic force microscopy (AFM). The SrTiO3 substrates with TiO2-termineted and atomically smooth surfaces and single unit cell steps have been obtained. HF acid attack of SiO2 and Si3N4 substrates is analyzed to improve the sensitivity of a sensor based on microcantilever. Ex situ analysis of the etching using XPS, SIMS and AFM show significant changes in the anisotropy and the rate of the etching of the oxides on SiO2 and Si3N4 surface. Those differences influence the kinetic evolution of the plastic bending deflection of the cantilever coated with SiO2 and Si3N4 layer, respectively. The linear dependence between the HF concentration and the Si3N4 cantilever bending corresponds to a deep attack of the layer whereas the non-linear behavior observed for SiO2 layer can be explained by a combination of deep and lateral etching. The cantilever bending is discussed in terms of free surface energy, layer thickness and grain size. 相似文献

High‐speed solution shearing, in which a drop of dissolved material is spread by a coating knife onto the substrate, has emerged as a versatile, yet simple coating technique to prepare high‐mobility organic thin film transistors. Solution shearing and subsequent drying and crystallization of a thin film of conjugated molecules is probed in situ using microbeam grazing incidence wide‐angle X‐ray scattering (μGIWAXS). We demonstrate the advantages of this approach to study solution based crystal nucleation and growth, and identify casting parameter combinations to cast highly ordered and laterally aligned molecular thin films.
